I happen to disagree with you completely. As I know you're aware, Iran is a Shi'a country. And, as I'm sure you're aware, one of the core tenets of Shi'a is that religion should be separate from politics. This goes all the way back to Ali and the first Ummayid Caliphs. The idea that the Iranian people could rise up in such large numbers and <strong>not</strong> change their form of government is, frankly, unbelieveable.

Mousavi was not much of a reformist. He has now closed ranks with Karroubi, and the reforms that I consider likely to come out of this uprising are more sweeping than you believe them to be. Khamenei has made the mistake of endorsing the election results while admitting fraud. A Shi'ite leader who deliberately thwarts the feelings of the people is not going to be well thought of in the Shi'ite community. Khamenei has to go, and he's going to go.

The nature of revolutions (as I am sure, yet again, you are aware) is that they often end up diverging quite a bit from their original goals and veer towards something more... idealistic. I suspect that the Iranian people are going to determine that the Velayat-e Faqih is an abomination. The position of Supreme Leader will be abolished, and Iran will trend more towards a traditional Shi'ite separation of church and state.

Of course, this is all speculation from my end. That said, I consider it much more likely than a return to the status quo in the country.

Ryan, Maybe you could answer a couple things for me? I'm using a very similar setup to yours. I have two actual interfaces. ce0 (public) and qfe0 (private). I have openvpn setup over the public interface. outside clients can connect, but thats about as far as it goes. i can ping my private ip from the remote vpn client, but none of the other servers on my private network, and i cannot seem to route though the server from the client. i have ipfil setup and ipnat like you have shown here. but my connection doesn't make it passed the server. any suggestions?

I'm not sure if String is sealed in Java or not. More my complaint is that rather than:
<pre lang="scala">
for (line <- lines) {
   length = line.length.toString.length
}</pre>
It should be something like:
<pre lang="haskell">
map (\x -> foldr (const (+1) 0) lines</pre>
Using and abusing abstracts and generics is one thing, but neither should be necessary in a functional language. Seriously.

public abstract String : String
{
     String Align()
     {
         return this.Length.ToString().Length;
     }
}

Done, right? Use and abuse abstracts and generics to make your life easier. If you find yourself typing the same deeply nested statement like that over and over again, redefine it to make it more readable.

Ironically, those are the tun/tap modules I used. Maybe they've improved since then and actually compile.

garnser,

Probably a bit late but for OpenVPN TAP support check out http://www.whiteboard.ne.jp/~admin2/tuntap/ This should compile both TUN and TAP support drivers for Solaris and has the utilities you mentioned you're missing. Also plenty of examples. Cheers.

Firstly, I guess, I've had a recurring sinus infection ever since I pushed a wisdom tooth into my sinus (subsequently removed, though seemingly not healed all the way), which leads to really fun headaches/awful smells/etc.

Secondly, a thrombosed prolapsed hemorrhoid out of nowhere, though I hear this sort of runs in the family.

So, I'm unable to take anything for the sinus infection. I still use the "real" Sudafed, and pseudoephedrine is horribly dehydrating, so it leads to hard stool. Laxatives aren't really an option since they're purportedly bad for hemorrhoids. On top of that, I'm bleeding somewhere in my upper GI tract for some reason, so I can't take anything (literally <em>every</em> painkiller I have includes aspirin, which would make the bleeding worse, and ibuprofen/acetaminophen don't do anything without taking dangerous amounts) for the sinus infection or the hemorrhoid pain.

Fortunately, it being a week or so later, things are markedly better. I mean, still GI bleeding and sinus infection, but I just kind of deal with those, generally.

On the upside, I'll be creating characters tonight~
