I initially contacted Ms. Lafonte in regards of an acne and acne scarring treatment. I was invited in for a complimentary examination and she suggested a Limelight treatment. Initially I was pleased with what I viewed in her little establishment and credentials. She said she had worked twenty years as an ER nurse in Peterborough Hospital and four years working for Dr. Abraham under the guise of the head nurse and running all of his operations. Later I would find out this was all false, along with the price of her machine which she continuously priced at above two hundred and fifty thousand. By the second treatment I was sold a kit of Cleansiderm for one hundred and forty dollars and the beginning of a multitude of problems started with her business partner who eventually left for (far) greener pastures. Eventually my face was showing no signs of improvement and I received three complimentary facial peels. The first one did not work, as with the second one and the third one as well.
Utterly unimpressed with events thus far I asked for a return of my money or at least a partial return. I was scolded, treated like a child, patronised and dismissed like a maid for expressing my discontent and telling her the truth. I was then promised I would have my money returned, but that was another lie. I needed to make another appointment she said, I needed to reimburse the company that I received complimentary hair removal treatments from she explained, I was expected to have a meeting with the never present, but supposed always onsite doctor and bitter faced secretary.
I am also curious as to why an ER Nurse of 11 years would leave her stable and high ranking position in sights of dermatology. I’m also curious as to why she needed to lie that she was heading and running all of Dr. Abrahams work and treatments in his clinic and left to start her own business when in fact she left on bad grounds where she in fact ran very little of his clinic. I’m also curious as to why she needed to lie about lending five thousand dollars to her supposed best friend and business partner. Again I’m ever so curious as to why she needed to bring up a personal issue when I confronted her on her poor work and the return of my money. And last but not least, I’m curious as to why she needed to insult immigrants and especially one of her clientele who is from Cuba, there was absolutely no need for any of this.
I am not only saddened of the actions of this person, but disgusted and infuriated that a supposed registered nurse can talk behind her clients back and lie and cheat customers into paying into bogus treatments and continue to be in business. It’s a shame to be honest and a downright mockery on Peterborough for a business like hers to continue profiting and preying off the backs of innocent locals.
Please I beg of you, do your research, ask others of their experiences, consult real dermatologists in our or your region instead of this scam artist. Her actions speak louder than words and it would be a shame if more will be scammed out of their hard earned money. It’s only a matter of time before people realise she’s nothing more than a crook and a lousy one at that. Please, consider the options when looking for skin treatment and acne treatment, you can do so much better and at a lower cost with real dermatologists and proper equipment without all of the gossip and confrontations. I guarantee you will not regret using her services or ‘’expertise’’.
