Is business war? Is life war?

To some it may feel this way, a constant battle...and this may be a successful way to get through. Utilizing the motivation of being beaten, a possible loss to someone else, and traditional competition as the fire to win.

This is what I feel, is a lower level, the level before attaining true mastery. Lets put it this way, does a master such as michelangelo or michael jackson care about being defeated? Do they care that someone will produce music or art superior to theirs? Perhaps but i'd argue that is not the fuel for their creativity. Their fuel is the deep love for creation. Their only competition is themselves. They do not need to cocnern themselves with what the opposition is doing. They do not need to seek to WIN, they only need to channel their energy into creation and let their creativity flourish.

Is business War? It can surely be thought of that way, and that will surely light some temporary fires under people, but it is not permanent. Permanent is love and creativity. It is said that meals that are cooked with love taste better. It is true. A product that is "cooked with love" is also better. One can only be at war for so long, but love, love is eternal! Handling your business with love, patience, and clarity is a higher level of functionality than handling your business like it is at war with other businesses.

In "Your MArketing SUCKS" you state to "start with a blank page." You speifically say not to look at what the competition's doing for it will put you in a box. I agree with this so whole heartedly it's not even funny. Well, in a war you would not do this. IN a war you would size up your competition thoroughly, gather intel, count their troops, etc. before making any plans. In business, this is not necesary, nor should it be done. Starting with the blank page and your inner ability to create is best.
