That’s a fair assumption, but I personally think that some people are way overpriced. I think many are right, and some are under. I really think that a correction like this has to drop some of the community.

Does it suck? Yea. Will it piss people off? Yea. Would it make EAv better? Absolutely.

I expect to see an increase in most people’s share price. This is the way it worked last time. It’s just that some people got major increases while others only got minor increases. Now, this is only speculation on my part, but it makes sense too because it will keep the community happier while accomplishing what the Empire Avenue development team feels they need to do.

Charles,

That information was discussed in class, and was brought up by another student. I didn’t perform other research on the matter, so I cannot comment on the accuracy of the information, which is why I worded that particular statement as I did. Reading it again, I realize it does imply that I feel that it is happening, but this was not intended. I was trying to make the point that there are things that companies do not report in CSR reports because they are negative.

At any rate, this post was not intended to be a discussion on Syncrude, but more a discussion on CSR reporting.

Hi Josh,

I’m not sure where you got information that Syncrude has contaminated water supplies in the area – but those reports are incorrect. Syncrude does not discharge anything into any water course that is used for drinking water supply – so they have no reason to report anything of this nature.

Even as a committed nonpartisan I’m itching to vote federally, but on a provincial level I know exactly how you feel. I didn’t vote in the last provincial election, and didn’t regret it in the least. Don’t tell me I’m not a good citizen if you aren’t going to offer good governance.
