I am trying to make everything configurable from flashvars (created dynamically from the users config). It is mostly simply a case of hiding the buttons if the flashvar is true.

e.g.
function videoMaruCreationComplete(maru:Object):Void {
	if(showPlayButton=='false') {
 play_btn._visible = false;
	};
}

The exception is the startPlay button. Hiding this button does not make the video start playing and I have searched and searched.

How would I remove the startPlay button using FlashVars & AS so that the video can be played normally?

Also:
Is it possible to set a buffer using flashvars & AS?

@Rick, there are no text animation effects built into videoMaru. You could intercept the text, or read the text from the TextField and create your own effects. I'm not sure how this would work with Actionscript 2. It's been so long since I did anything with AS2 that I've forgotten a lot of the details.

Dan,

Just going through the API. Is there a way to do a text affect like a type writer one word at a time, in the caption text box?

Another question about cue points is there a way set the duration of the text, or use a xml sheet like close caption sheet? Buy the way this is cool stuff!
Thanks

Dan,
This is the same question but can it be done also with the captions XML animate the text?
Is there a way to set in a text animation like a fly in from left or type writer effect or both?
Thanks

@dan, I didn't create the Transformers site myself so I'm uncertain. I believe you could accomplish that effect by continuously getting the current time index. I'm not sure if there is an API call built into videoMaru or if you would have to modify the source code for that.

Actually, thinking about it further you could achieve that effect by making the playhead invisible and then continuously monitoring it's movement. Then change the _width of a MovieClip that you can see so that its _width = playhead.x - newPlayhead.x. That should do it.

i was wondering how the scale the playhead like you did in the transformers video, instead of the moving the playhead along its x position.
