私たち年寄り夫婦はハワイ島が好きで、一年に２度ほどに行っております。ワイメアとかホノカアにも時々出かけますが、次回は是非農場を拝見したいと思っております。といっても、観光用に大々的にやっている所ではなく、できれば日系の方がやっている農場を拝見したく思っております。何とか英語はこなしますが、家内はだめですので、日系の方たちなら安心です。もしどなたか知り合いの農家の方があられましたら、ご紹介いただけませんでしょうか。次回のハワイ行きは５、６月で、いつもワイコロアに泊まっております。

日本のデジタルTV放送のコピープロテクトはややこしいですね。日本独自のシステムだから、海外の方には理解しにくいかと思います。
一応簡単にJohnさんへのメッセージを書きましたが、詳しくは記事の中にある「PT2まとめWiki」を説明してあげた方が良いでしょう。

個人で録画を楽しむ限りは「TS抜き」しても違法ではありませんよ。当然ですがWOWOWのような有料放送は契約しなければ見ることができません。

The file for the encode and the copy protection does not affect each other. A TV tuner from Japan is usually equipped with a protection signal. However, my computer’s tuner functions so that the file is save with out any of the protection signal interfering with it. Saving a file with out the protection signal is called “TS抜き” (TSnuki). In order to avoid the use of the protect signal, the TV tuner must be able to function as a “TS抜き”. There are different types of “TS抜き” tuners, the one I use is the PT2.

We currently have a personal system set up, but it records analog TV and we need to get ready for the change to Digital TV(地上デジタル). We’ll study your posts on this and I am sure that there are others that will be looking.

I had thought there was an issue with viewing the files recorded from digital TV on a different PC - that is you can view the program on the original recording PC but you can’t view it on a different PC. I had understood that the copy protection in Japan stopped this. Does your system avoid this problem by re-encoding the recording to MP4?

このシステムは一般的に販売されているメーカー製品ではありません。個々のパーツとソフトを入手して作らなければならず、その分ハードルも高くなっています。
たぶん出来上がるまでに何度も躓くことがあると思いますが、うまくいけば自分の欲しい機能で仕上げることが可能です。いずれにしても事前によく検討してからスタートしてください。
またPT2は現在入手困難なこともあり、私が購入したショップも今は予約すら受付ていないため、一応オークションサイトのリンクを貼っておきます。

I’d like to understand your setup so I can duplicate it. From your page, I see that we should get the PT2 card and the CAS card reader. What about the software? Did all the software come with the PT2 card? If not, can you tell me what software you needed?
