One thing you have to keep in mind: the Left has a long history of admiring criminals. They loved the movie Bonnie and Clyde, because it had the glorious murderers sticking it to the man by killing squares (i.e., innocent people). So their support for gun control, far from being misguided, is accomplishing exactly what they intend it to accomplish: victim disarmament. They literally get an erection every time a woman is raped. They are not misguided; they are incredibly crafty and evil. And they need to be destroyed, figuratively and perhaps literally.

Absolutely correct. In her mind, people want self-defense; they don’t need it, and they certainly don’t have an inalienable right to it.

Now, criminals on the other hand, they need guns to ply their trade. If there were no guns, it naturally follows there’d be no crime, and anyone who says otherwise is spouting extremist conspiracy theory, right? Right!?

As many times as I’ve read that law, I can’t say I ever saw the part where they are immune by prohibition as well. Good catch.

And yes, I am covered as an instructor.. It is one of many reasons that I keep the tests of my students… I can prove they knew what they knew.

Private employers are given immunity either way… permitting or prohibiting CCW on their property… Ohio Revised Code 2923.126©(2)(a)…

You are correct. Ohio indemnifies employers from any liability should they allow a licensed individual to carry at work and something happens. However I don’t believe they are protected should something happen after denying the right of their employees to protect themselves.

I guess I don’t have it so bad after all, a few of us are currently trying to get our CEO to allow CCW at work (building isn’t posted, but there is a “no weapons” policy on the books, and we would like to keep our jobs).

I think it might be moving in a good direction though, since his son-in-law got his, our VP of Sales was carrying around the paperwork yesterday, and the CEO himself told me he was going to take the class soon.

I think his worry is liability, which I’m pretty sure OH law shields him from, but he was unconvinced so far.

At least I can leave it in the parking lot, though.

As natural and safe as breathing… we’re getting there…

I’m so used to being in a rural area… the day-to-day surprise that many express at CCW some friends tell me about in urban areas is not as prevalent out here…

Unfortunately, I still have to secure my firearm in my vehicle at work… then again… hopefully your work-place will get to that point in the near future…
