Brandon, Let me begin by saying how very glad I am that on January 3rd, 2008 at 10:39 am, you decided to take a stand against your personal adversity and write this blog. If you had not, then I would not have had the opportunity to read your very powerful and annointed words. You are a very gifted writer and I certainly appreciate that. I look forward to reading more of your work!

I am currently doing research for my upcoming podcast and just happened upon your blog (yeah right - more like God led me here.) You have written so much here but two things that you point out really stand tall in my mind. You make the first statement so simply here, even though it is extremely prophetic in it's context: "WE BECOME OUR ADVERSITY!"

A friend of mine would state it like this, "We have a bad moment and say we had a bad day; We have a bad day and say its been a terrible month; We have a bad month and call it a bad year." In other words, we make things far worse than they really have to be. That is just the nature of humanity. We are always our greatest critics and our worst supporters . There is no one who can tear down our faith in God, or the belief we have in ourselves, more than we can. We have invested time, money, and principal in ourselves but the reality is that our "self", because it is so fragile, so timid, so wavering, is not to be trusted. Thank you for bringing that point to life in your work above.

The second statement you make so well is the fact that, "Adversity often has within it the seeds of our own improvement." You go on to say that "More than just the success of facing the challenge itself overcoming adversity often directly molds us and shapes us into who we are meant to be." We often shun our predicaments, circumstances, and situations when the reality is that adversity almost always causes us to dig deep within, as it is shaping and toning the srength of our characters on a regular basis.

Again, thank you for your words... they are appreciated and I look forward to reading more from you! Real Talk!

Hello,
I’ve written a series of ten articles dealing with the idea of using photos to inspire writing. They’re posted at http://www.creativity-portal/com/prompts/kellner/. I hope everyone who reads the articles will find them useful.
Coincidentally, the title of my latest book is WRITE WHAT YOU SEE.
Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Hank Kellner
