I don't think Darren's Proto-1 Decibel guitar was ready during the recording, but I'm not 100% sure on that... we used SO much gear during this record, it's hard to keep track :-p    Darren has played the Proto-1 live on a few shows to great accolades: it plays and sounds as wicked as it looks.

One goal Steve &amp; I set during the initial phases of making the record was we had to use everything in the studio at least once during recording.  The fact that I am an obsessive instrument collector didn't help... I don't think three weeks went by without me bringing something to The Lab -- an old derelict Autoharp, corrugated gas-line with a trombone mouthpiece...  the gear this band has collectively is SICK!!  Wait until the next record....  mmmwahahaha!</description>
