Hi Kim

Thanks for your comments and I am glad we can add some value. Social media and the digital platforms can be a really great big red herring and its interesting that we are seeing a lot of cynism. People are what is important here and not the technology. The technology just enable and when used properly can be so powerful. Makes marketing fun again doesn't it :).

Regards
Michael

Just want to say from a techie's perspective that the stuff that you guys do makes sense to me and the fact that you can measure the success of a campaign in actual figures clearly differentiates what you guys do versus all the 100's of other so called "experts" running around making companies waste millions on useless FB "like" campaigns etc.

Keep on spreading the word!

Hi Michael, I am am Marketing Consutant in Cape Town responsible for a number of small to medium companies' marketing strategies.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your article, 'Why a Facebook Like is Bad for Business and How To Fix It'. It has provided clarity at a time when I feel a bit overwhelmed with the onslaught of social media and the pressure to get the 'likes' or 'followers' up for each company while trying to ensure these people are actually the target market and are 'relevant' for lack of a better word. Quantity seems to be more important than quality in this regard.

In addition to this, the grounds for what works and what doesn't on a marketing level are shifting based on the Passive / Active consumer concept. I really enjoyed your video tutorial on W-O-M-M and cannot wait for the next installment. I intend to show ALL my clients this presentation and the next four. The dynamics are so true and so simple - and so easy to forget. I love the organic and highly effective way in which W-O-M-M works. It is strange that it has taken this fast paced, ever evolving IT environment in which we exist to make us recognise the value of getting back to basics and making use of them as marketers.

Thanks again
Kim Theunissen.
