I don’t know how close you are to Houston but I would love to invite you, Noah and the rest of the family to come watch the Project Inspire Fixture 4 games. Project Inspire is the first professional soccer league for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There are four teams in this inaugural season. Teams are located in Spokane, Colorado Springs, Houston and Knoxville. Each city has hosted a fixture this season. Knoxville is the team my 16 year old daughter is playing on. She is the youngest on our team. Knoxville will host fixture 3 on October 3-5. Houston will host the final fixture on Nov 21-23. I don’t have specifics for this event yet but will be happy to share if you are interested. Hope you guys are able to attend.

Noah is beautiful!!! I had a first cousin (James) with DS. He was by far the favorite of all of his cousins plus all extended family. He was born in 1962 and I was only 6 years old. I don’t remember a lot about his early years, but what I do remember about him is awesomeness. I was told that his mother didn’t believe his diagnosis for quite a while. They took him wherever they went and he became known and loved all over the county. The doctors predicted that he’d only live to be 10 years old. He passed away at age 50. Back when he was born there wasn’t all of the amazing treatments and therapies of today. He never was able to speak plain, but family could figure out what he was saying. Nine months ago an acquaintance of mine had a DS baby boy and he’s absolutely adorable. I asked to meet him and did when he was 4 months old. Holding him filled my heart with love and I could’ve held him all day. I follow his story on Facebook, but I haven’t had the nerves to ask for another visit even though I really want to. I agree with everyone here that it is a true blessing from God to have one of these children. Keep posting!!

Hi. My son is now 16 months. I still find it difficult to talk about his diagnosis. Only a handful of people know, immediate family and close friends. I am anxious about the day the rest of my
family meets him. I still find I cry when having to mention my child has a disability. Will this ever go away or at least get better? I love him soooo much and I am not embarrassed by him, just sad for him.

That's understandable. Becoming a parent often shifts our perspectives and priorities. It's wonderful that you're now more aware of companies that provide opportunities for people with special needs. Your support can make a real difference in their lives.
