I've had a few emails from folks who are asking very simply, "What is it that you do?" It's easy. I send thoughtful cards to friends, family and business clients to let them know I appreciate them and/or their business. The results are amazing and people get excited about getting something genuine in the mail. In return, their interest sparks them do create the same feeling for their friends or their business clients. It's all about reciprocity.

Earning money from home: What not to do.

I have been reading a lot of blogs in the last few days and have found so many people trying to make money doing surveys and getting referrals to try and build a downline of other survey takers. STOP DOING THIS! It is never going to make you financially independent because it is too time consuming! It is too difficult.

I can say this because I have been down that road. I have done the creation of 10 different emails, spend 5 minutes clicking on things to make $.35, posting referral codes, recruiting referrals through websites. It took me a month to get 9 referrals. They referred 25 people. It make me $8.80. That's it. Why? Because it gets tiresome and people stop doing it.

Shift your thoughts a little. Quality not quantity. Think about it this way. You could spend $1.40 and buy 2,500 banner ad impressions on a click to read email site. You make get 2 people to sign up and you get 10% of what they earn. But, they're only earning $20 a month? That's 2 bucks!

Or, you could take that $1.40 and go down to Starbucks (aka the networking capital of the world) and buy a coffee. Strike up a conversation with someone else in line. Ask them questions and listen to what they have to say. Find the common ground and how you can help them. Give them your information and get their card. Follow up. If they're not interested, move on. If they are then you've grown your business.

It's easy.

When was the last time you opened up your mailbox and there was something other than bills in there? When was the last time you got a card from someone for no reason, just that they were thinking of you? When was the last time you saw someone's actual handwriting on something rather than getting it through email?

And, when was the last time you sent a card through the mail and brightened someone's day?

I am willing to best the answer to a lot of these questions is, "A long time ago." I get it. It's a lost art. It's time consuming and costly to go to the store, find the right card, wait in line, pay $3-$4 for the card, go get a stamp, and (if you're anything like me) remember to mail the thing.

So here's what I'll tell you. You can spend a very short amount of time each day sending a thoughtful and unexpected card to a friend, family member business contact or new person you met. The card will cost you less than a dollar and will make you money. And you don't have to sell a thing...

I've started this website because of an opportunity that came to me that has changed how I think about work, my future, my family, my priorities and what I want in life. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out "what I want to do when I grow up." Sadly, I wasn't coming up with anything! All I have been doing is searching place after place for a way to achieve financial independence while being able to focus more on the people that I love. My goal in life is to be able to work form home or anywhere else I want to and still make more than enough more to to be comfortable for the rest of my life.
