July 4th FUNdRaiser

CMB will again be hosting a family friendly event on July 4th at the Old National Bank building in downtown Evansville.
The event will include:
-great food from Bauerhaus Catering
-bounce houses and activities for the kids
-silent auction (including a golf package, iPad, and more)
-an amazing view of the downtown fireworks
-chances at a Tracy Zeller Jewelry shopping spree
-free parking

Doors will open at 6:00pm with children activities and auction. Dinner Buffet will be served from 6:30 – 7:30pm. The cost of the event is $25 per person with $5 per child ages 3-10 and $10 for ages 11-18.

Lake Barkley Weekend

CMB is very excited to be returning to Lake Barkley in 2013.

There will be no cost for the workshop and will include your nights stay at the lodge on Friday and Saturday, three meals, and all your workshop materials. Come enjoy the beauty of the Lake Barkley Lodge and enrich your marriage with our Mastering the Mysteries of Love Workshop.

Participants must first apply and go through our intake process in order for CMB to verify eligibility. If approved for registration, you may be granted a spot for the event. Once enrolled if you fail to complete, you will not be eligible to enroll in future “no cost” workshops. If you are enrolled and are unable to attend for any reason, you must inform our office of your cancellation prior to the event. Failure to do so will make you ineligible for any future “no cost” grant workshops.

Spring Weekend

This weekend, on April 12 &13, is designed to give married couples the skills they need to better connect and deepen their relationship. It will be located at the Gasthof Amish Village near Washington, Indiana.

This NO COST weekend will include:

BYU-Idaho Symphonic Band

The BYU-Idaho Symphonic Band will be performing at North High school in Evansville on Thursday, April 18th. This great night of music for the whole family begins at 7:00pm. Tickets will be $5 per person with family prices available. All the proceeds for this event will be donated to Community Marriage Builders.

The BYU-Idaho Symphony Band is a select group of 47 woodwind, brass and percussion students who perform significant wind literature from a variety of musical periods and styles. Under near professional conditions, this distinctive group of instrumentalists present premiers of original works for band, orchestral transcriptions, solo concertos and popular music. The Symphony Band draws on compositions from such composers as Bach, Mozart, Berlioz, Sousa, and Copland.

Singles Weekend

This exciting workshop for singles will be in New Harmony on March 22 and 23. It will feature our “No Jerk” curriculum entitled How to Avoid Falling for a Jerk or Jerkette. The program will give you a practical guide to help “avoid the jerks” and find “the one” who’s right for you. It is all about following your heart without losing your mind.

There is no cost for the weekend and you will receive an added bonus of $50 when you complete the workshop. The weekend includes your Friday night stay at the Inn, three meals and all your workshop materials.

This program for singles and dating couples gives a practical guide to help you avoid the jerks and find “the one” who’s right for you. This workshop will show you the foolproof way to follow you heart without losing your mind.

This P.I.C.K. curriculum developed by Dr. John Van Epp the author of the popular book “How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk” uses his Relationship Attachment Model (RAM) as a way of keeping a relationship in balance.

Sweetheart Weekend

February 22 & 23

This faith-based weekend for married couples will use biblical principles to draw you closer as a couple and deepen your intimacy. It includes your room on Friday night, three meals (including lunch at the Red Geranium) and all your workshop materials. The cost of the weekend will be $199 per couple. Registration Deadline is February 6th.

To make the weekend even more special, you can stay at the Inn an additional night (on Saturday) for a special rate of only $75+tax (based on availability). Once you have registered for the weekend, you can call the New Harmony Inn at 812-682-4431 to reserve a second night (make sure you let them know you are with Community Marriage Builders to get the special rate).

CMB Workshop Refund Policy

If the workshop is cancelled by CMB, a full refund will be made. If you cancel eight (8) days or more prior to the starting date of the workshop, your registration fee will be refunded, minus a 25% administrative charge. If you cancel seven (7) days or less prior to the starting date of the workshop, if you don’t show, or if you don’t complete the workshop, your registration fee is non-refundable

Smart Stepfamily Workshop

This Smart Stepfamily program will meet on Wednesdays from March 6th through April 24th. The principles, information, illustrations, discussion questions, and activities in this faith based program will help couples focus on their specific situation to build healthy marriages and peaceful families.

Dating My Spouse 2013

Community Marriage Builders is continuing the “Dating My Spouse” campaign for 2013. The program is designed to encourage married couples to set a regular date night at least once a month. The idea is that CMB will sell buttons for $25 and those buttons will allow couples to receive special discounts (i.e. buy-one get-one free) at local establishments. The discounts will run at all participating establishments from Monday through Thursday starting at 5:00 p.m. on the second full week of each month.

The program will begin in the second full week of January 2013 and will run through December 2013. Each month the couple will receive an e-mail reminder that will highlight one of the establishments and update any new establishments that have been added. The total potential savings for each couple could be from $180 to $720 over the course of the campaign depending on how many times the couple eats out during that week.
