During the lock down I created a series of videos for the multinational interfaith charity, The Faith & Belief Forum’s online fundraising gala. This involved COVID-safe socially distanced filming and creative use of archive. The Faith & Belief Forum believes that intolerance has no place in our communities and that diversity adds value; an ethos I wholeheartedly share.

NOT JUST A PLACE
This film is a timely and intimate portrait of issues faced by a community of British Asian women. It reveals a delicate, yet strong mutual local support network. We feel the tensions around assimilation and between generations. The long-term impact of forced migration to and settlement in the UK is explored through performance and conversation. ‘Home Is’ a balancing act between acceptance and cultural heritage.
Home Is has been used in an NHS GP training context.
