Platform Invocation Services (PInvoke) allows managed code (for example code written in C sharp)to call unmanaged functions that are implemented in a DLL( for example th ecode you write in CUDA and create a dll of it).

for this you are required to tell your C Sharp Application that your application CONTAIN A CALL TO DLL.
1. USE NAMESPACE:: System.Runtime.InteropServices.
2. you must provide the C# compiler with a declaration of the unmanaged function.
for this include fallowing statiment just After the constructor of your class.

[DllImport("STRING PATH OF DLL ")]
        public static extern RETURN TYPE  FUNTION NAME ( @ PARAMS);

Declare the method with the static and extern C# keywords.
1 why static :: to associate the dll method with the calling class.
2. why extern:: to tell C sharp compiler that the method is from outside( not belongs to C sharp class).
3.RETURN TYPE :: It is the return type of the funtion which is being declared in C dll .
here the important thing is thats C# does not support various return type as C ( like pointer )
hence we are required to convert these return type into C# compitable return type.
4. Funtion name:: may or may not be same as DLL funtion name.
5.Formal params to function:: the are also not supported and required to get change.

For which you are required to build dll of C program such that you could create the GUI for that application in language like C sharp.

For this structure of your C program is supposed to be as::

  extern "C" //
       {
           __declspec(dllexport) returntype funtionname <return type=""> <funtion name="">(...)</funtion></return>
                   {
                   ....................................the boby of your funtion................

                   }
         }
1.extern "C":::extern "C" is meant to be recognized by a C++ compiler and to notify the compiler that the noted function is (or to be) compiled in C style..since you are working in VC++ hence its good to write.

2.__declspec(dllexport):: when we pass a function to a dll it is always necessary to tell which function is to be include and which is not required.
These attributes explicitly define the DLL's interface to its client, which can be the executable file or another DLL. Declaring functions as dllexport eliminates the need for a module-definition (.DEF) file, at least with respect to the specification of exported functions.

STEP 2: making DLL:
visual studio> project > project property> Configuration property> configuration type=Dynamic Library (.dll)

Currently, Pocket PC (now called Windows Mobile Classic), SmartPhone (Windows Mobile Standard), and PocketPC Phone Edition (Windows Mobile Professional) are the three main platforms under the Windows Mobile umbrella. It is the abbreviation of New Technology File System - Windows NT's preferred file system.
What is an alternate data stream (ADS)?
In NTFS, a file consits of different data streams. One stream holds the security information (access
rights and such things), another one holds the "real data" you expect to be in a file. There may be another
stream with link information instead of the real data stream, if the file actually is a link. And there may
be alternate data streams, holding data the same way the standard data stream does.
What is wrong with alternate data streams?
I could say: Nothing, they work as expected and as documented (yes, Microsoft did document this
feature).
But stop - there is something wrong: They are totally hidden. You can have a file with 1 byte in the
official main data stream and some hundred MB in one or more alternate data streams. What do you
expect the dir command, file manager or explorer to show as the size of this file? It is 1 byte!
That means a user can hide quite a lot of data in alternate data
streams and nobody will know?
So it is.
But a user does need certain special priviledges to use
alternate data streams?
No. Even guest can create such streams in every file where he has write access for.

How does somebody create an ADS?
You can do it on the command prompt, like notepad visible.txt:hidden.txt. This will
create an hidden stream hidden.txt in the file visible.txt. It doesn't matter if the file exists
or not.
How does somebody copy data into an ADS?
type atextfile > visible.txt:hidden2.txt.
This will create another hidden stream hidden2.txt in the file visible.txt.
How does somebody copy text data from an ADS into a
"normal" file?
more < visible.txt:hidden2.txt > newfile.txt.
This will create a file newfile.txt from the hidden stream hidden2.txt in the file visible.
txt.
How does somebody copy binary data from an ADS into a
"normal" file?
cat visible.txt:hidden.exe > hack.exe.
This will create a file hack.exe from the hidden stream hidden.exe in the file visible.txt.
(Cat is a tool from the Ressource Kit.)
How does somebody delete an ADS?
Let us assume you know there is a file important.exe with an ADS attached to it. The file is very
important and the ADS very dangerous. You need to hold the main stream and delete the ADS. Let us
assume there is no FAT drive on your network, otherwise you could move the file to this drive and than
move it back again. All you need to do is:
ren important.exe temp.exe
cat temp.exe > important.exe
del temp.exe
The method above does not work when the ADS is attached to a directory. If you need to remove,
for instance c:\Windows:harmful.exe without reinstalling Windows, you could use this trick. (If you use
NT 5.x, you need a copy of Notepad.exe from NT 4!)

1. Open the ADS with Notepad:
C:\NT4Tools\Notepad.exe c:\Windows:harmful.exe
2. Delete the entire content of the ADS
3. Close notepad. It will ask whether you want to save your changes
4. Answer YES
5. Notpad will tell you that the file is empty and that it will delete it
Now you are done, the ADS is gone.
Can somebody add an ADS to a directory entry instead of a
file?
Yes, it works the same way.
What possibilities does Microsoft provide to check if there are
alternate data streams on my NTFS disks?
Do you expect they care?
But if the sum of available and used storage on a hard disk is
much less than it's size, I want to know a way to check if there
are alternate data streams on my NTFS disks!
You can move all files onto a FAT drive and back to the NTFS drive. This way all alternate data streams
will be deleted, because FAT does not know how to save this kind of data.

REGISTRY THE INTRO

DEFINITION: The Windows 9x/NT/2000/ME/XP Registry is a complex, unified, system wide, continually referenced during operation database, used for centrally storing, locating, editing and administering system, hardware, software and user configuration information, following a hierarchical structure.
There are two versions of Registry Editor:

:To modify the Registry, you need to use a Registry Editor:

Regedit.exe (Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP) = located in %WinBootDir% (%SystemRoot%) has the most menu items and more choices for the menu items. You can search for keys and subkeys in the registry.

Regedt32.exe (Windows NT/2000/XP) = located in %SystemRoot%\System32,enables you to search for strings, values, keys, and subkeys. This feature is useful if you want to find specific data.

Registry Structure

For ease of use, the Registry is divided into five separate structures that represent the Registry database in its entirety. These five groups are known as Keys, and are discussed below:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
This registry key contains the configuration information for the user that is currently logged in. The users folders, screen colors, and control panel settings are stored here. This information is known as a User Profile.

HKEY_USERS
In windowsNT 3.5x, user profiles were stored locally (by default) in the systemroot\system32\config directory. In NT4.0, they are stored in the systemroot\profiles directory. User-Specific information is kept there, as well as common, system wide user information.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
This key contains configuration information particular to the computer. This information is stored in the systemroot\system32\config directory as persistent operating system files, with the exception of the volatile hardware key.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
The information stored here is used to open the correct application when a file is opened by using Explorer and for Object Linking and Embedding. It is actually a window that reflects information from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software subkey.

HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
The information contained in this key is to configure settings such as the software and device drivers to load or the display resolution to use. This key has a software and system subkeys, which keep track of configuration information.

For the value data, enter the path and executable for the program you want to run.

By adding the value to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive instead allows the program to start only when that user is logged on.

If you add the value to the RunOnce key the program will run once and be removed from the key by Windows."

"Setting the Minimum Password Length

"Setting the Minimum Password Length

1.Open RegEdit
2.Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Network
3.
If you want to make restrictions to what users can do or use on their computer without having to run Poledit, you can edit the Registry. You can add and delete Windows features in this Key shown below.

Zero is Off and the value 1 is On. Example: to Save Windows settings add or modify the value name NoSaveSettings to 0, if set to1 Windows will not save settings. And NoDeletePrinter set to 1 will prevent the user from deleting a printer.

The same key shows up at:
HKEY_USERS\(yourprofilename)\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer so change it there also if you are using different profiles.
