Last weekend I felt like I was in the ‘Twilight Zone’…Paul Heaton was amazing in goal for the Hammers against the Spuds
….Paul Heaton, lead singer of the Beautiful South was incredible in goal for the Hammers who beat Madam Twitchy’s spuds 1-0. Liverpool drew – again. With Gerrard getting away with a blatant elbow – not the first time (how the ref worked out that it was a yellow card I don’t know??) and they scored one of the weirdest goals ever in the history of football historicalness.
Chelsea actually lost a game in their first test against a decent side following 5 easy fixtures to conveniently get them off to a flying start…hmm, rich clubs, bottomless pits…favouritism = conspiracy??? – That is, if you can call that drivel a game.
Manure struggled to earn a draw against Bolton who normally bend over and take it up the bunghole from red nose alchy’s team…… and Arsenal played and lost against errrrrr -Arsenal at the Emirates?!
It was seriously like watching our lads in the wrong shirts. We played like WBA did against Chelsea at the start of the season and they deservedly kicked our arse’s. They passed better, shot better, worked harder, tackled harder……were harder and i’d say the only thing better about us was the smell, through sheer lack of hard graft, our players failed to generate a drop of sweaty B.O following a lacklustre, lazy pathetic display throughout.
With the exception of the subs and Nasri who looked the only player to have actually broken a sweat in the last 20 minutes, when he tried single handedly to pull us back into that game, every one of our players should hang their heads in shame.
I was embarrassed, let alone how embarrassed Wenger must have felt.Wenger looks bemused as Arsenal seemed to have swapped shirts with WBA BEFORE the game kicked off?!
Yes, I can sit here and follow many other Gooners in judgement at Wenger’s failure to replace the hapless Manuel Aluminiumwrists© AND Flapihandski, but there’s no point. It’s too late. Until January at least, these are our no.1 and no.2 keepers.
Unless of course, Wenger decides to take a gamble and promote Chesney (the one and only) and Don Vito Mannone as no.1 and no.2 respectively. But 99% of Arsenal fans will confidently say ‘No, he won’t do that’. Wenger seems to have a frustratingly blind faith in these Goal ‘un’Keepers that none of us can fathom.
Of course, we don’t all get to see what goes on in training. Chesney recently bleated stupidly in public about not getting his chance considering the form of the no.1 and no.2 and even made a dry threat to leave the club if he didn’t get his chance and that, I fear, will work against him. We all know how stubborn Wenger is. He won’t be bullied into playing anyone.
Despite our feelings on this subject we must remember that ‘In Wenger we trust’ and I truly believe that Wenger must be seeing something negative in the 3rd and 4th choice keepers in training which has forced his hand in entrusting the responsibility to the two main flappers.
Maybe it’s stage fright and they’re actually unbeatable in training? But I struggle to place too much emphasis on confidence and mind-set. These players are playing football. It’s meant to be fun and enjoyable.
Yes there are pressures, and psychological state plays an important part as it does in any job in any walk of life, but it’s not like WW3 will kick off if they let a goal in the net FFS!
I don’t understand how or why, goalkeepers in particular have confidence blips. We expect them to concede sometimes. It’s natural. You just cannot stop every shot from getting past you.
Maybe they need to relax more. Besides, Aluminiumwrists© has had enough good moments and confidence boosting saves in his time at the club to refill his confidence so why does he lose it so easily if it is a case of confidence.
Ah, bollocks to confidence, it’s pretty clear that the answer is that both Manuel Aluminiumwrists© and Flapihandski are just bad goal keepers. Too bad to be playing for a club of our standards and stature anyway.
So, what’s the answer? The answer is there is no answer. We can pray or demand or protest as much as we like. Wenger will make his decisions and we’ll have to like it or lump it. Wenger will stick to his supposed top two lumps, I mean keepers, for the foreseeable future until injury allows the others a chance and ‘BY GUM’ they have to take it! I say-BUYBLOODYGUM! (warning: subliminal chewing gum advertisment alert!)
Some ‘Gooners’ on various forums have been calling for Wenger’s head and demand he be sacked if he doesn’t buy a GK in January. This sort of reaction is ridiculous and I don’t have much time for ‘fans’ like these. They clearly haven’t a clue how to envision consequence. I don’t need to go into what these consequences could be if Wenger was sacked in the near future – true fans already know what they would be.
These silly comments follow the news regarding our financial position, which is healthier than expected and will set us up as a self sufficient force for the long term. Unlike Manure, Chavski, Man El Citeh, Liverpool etc…who are far from being self sufficient and with their debt laden owners are always at risk of a severe plummet should there be a financial crisis in the foreseeable future. I’m not sure about every other Gooner but I feel extremely proud of this fact and in pure Benitez style, here are some facts:
*To have been a top 4 team every year under Wenger’s reign.
*To have been in the Champions League every year since including an appearance in the 2006 final and some memorable games.
*To have moved into a beautiful new stadium that most other clubs envy including our poor neighbours.
*To have converted our historical Highbury into luxury apartments.
*To have won the trophies we’ve won since 1997.
*To be the club of ‘Invincible’s’ in 2004.
*To have produced or introduced some of the most amazing and often unheard of ‘Stars’ ever to grace the premiership – Bergkamp, Henry, Viera, Pires, Fabregas, Wilshere etc…
*To have set the highest standard of pure, beautiful ‘shexy’ football in the premiership that every neutral and true football fan of any club enjoys to watch (apart from the odd blip against WBA of course!)
…… all these fantastic elements that we as Gooners enjoy, all brought to us essentially by one man. How can anyone with a sane mind demand that Wenger be sacked. It’s ludicrous!
So we ‘HAVE’ to keep the faith. That should be our new entry song at the Emirates –
Bon Jovi – Keep the Faith’ – Awesome!
We’ve got Partizan Belgrade on Tuesday which will be a tough away fixture. The players have to look at themselves and brush the weekend ‘Twilight Zone’ horror behind them. They must win emphatically on Tuesday and whoever is in goal must keep a clean sheet. The defence must protect the keeper. The defensive midfielder’s must remember when they should bomb forward and when they should do their bloody job and help protect the back four. We need these things to happen if we have any chance of being prepared physically and mentally for the Chavs on Sunday who, despite their loss on Saturday in a supposed game of football against Man El Citeh, will be up for this even more and will be our toughest test yet. If we can’t beat WBA at home what chance do we have against our closest rivals for these elusive trophies.
In summary; Diaby must lift up that Bruce Forsythian chin of his and work harder, sort his passing out.
Clichy must concentrate positionally for 100 minutes even if only 94 minutes are played.
Rosicky needs to learn to keep his shots below 10 yards off the ground.
Song must stop pretending he is a striker and do his DM duties. Sagna likewise.
Shavva has to stop sulking, smile a bit more, enjoy it more and sort his passing out.
Chamack needs to work on his positioning for crosses, we all know he can be lethal with his head, we’ve seen him do it. So just bloody do it.
And as for the keepers, well…….fingers crossed eh!

The Premiership: Lack of English signings looks bad but why?

So there have been rantings in the tabloids about the lack of English signings by some managers in the Premier League. Arsenal's legendary manager is rated as the worst with only 8% of signings being English during his tenure at Arsenal. But why?

Well I'll tell these ignorant muggy tw@ts why - Because English players are either too shite, or too expensive, or in most cases - both. Of course Arsene Wenger would have loved to have bought a Lampard, Terry, Gerrard or Rooney, but he didn't either because at the time he felt they would not fit into the kind of team he was trying to build or when they were on the market they were extortionately overpriced!

Now, some may argue that Wenger is too tight fisted and should have splashed the cash - maybe, but if he had, there's no guarantee they would have worked well in Wenger's teams but most importantly, Arsenal FC would not be in the stable financial position we are in now.
Arsenal are the only top four club who can proudly say are self sufficient. Yes there are debts, but Wenger has worked tirelessly with the financial directors and the board to ensure that the debts are manageable for the projected future. We may not be the richest club in comparison with Barcelona, Real Madrid, ManUre or Chelskiskiskiskiski - but if/when the financial market in football crashes, guess who will be standing?! I admit ManUre will probably always make money despite their Yank owners colossal debts mainly thanks to their Asian and Indian fans/mugs! But in the meantime there must be many ManUre fans who are worried about the finances of the club and what it means for future transfers, players wages etc...will they ever be able to splash out £30mill for a top player again under the current regime? We've already seen Abramovich pulling out his support for ridiculous signings! Now it's ManShitty's turn. They are a carbon copy of Chelskiskiskiskiskis, splashing the cash, trying to buy every player going, but for example, how the hell would they get rid of the likes of Adebayor who's on ridiculous wages to trim their squad to 25 players under the new Premiership rules if no other club can afford to buy him, or more importantly, afford his wage expectations!?

Going back to English talent; What these reporters, analyst, cynics etc. fail to realise is that despite Wenger's lack of enthusiasm with English players at the club, he has nothing against signing or developing English talent. He has been slowly developing and encouraging young English players for years. Admittedly some have not been considered good enough to make it into the first team at Arsenal and hold down a place - Bentley, Hoyte for example, but they had their chance and clearly failed to progress. It just wasn't meant to be for these players. But there has consistently been English talent. Many of these players have played for England's under 17, 19 and 21 squads. But have the England coaches promoted them to the senior squad? Some yes, some no - that's not Wenger's decision! So if these squad coaches don't think some of the English youngsters are good enough for the England team (ha!) then why would Wenger think they would good enough for Arsenal's first team just to please the cynical public/media who seem to tag him with almost an anti English label which is ridiculous. I just wish these idiots would look properly into the real reasons behind Wenger's policies in these matters.

Here is a list of some of Arsenal's current young English talent that have been brought through the ranks or brought into the club to develop. Some of these players are already in the England squads at their respected levels and some are expected to step into the Arsenal 25 man squad this season:

So BNP leader Nick Griffin had his invite revoked for some Royal knees up in some garden today! I say - GOOD!
The f@cker should not have been invited in the first place. Yes, people will say that's not democratic and everyone has the right to freedom of speech, something I am certainly taking advantage of, but sometimes the line has to be drawn.
The Invite was officially revoked because "he has overtly used his personal invitation for party political purposes through the media". Apparently he used his own BNP blog to open up the opportunity to his loyal followers (over a million apparently - scary) - to pose questions that could possibly be asked in regards to BNP policies and other political issues. The fact of the matter is; the Royal Garden Party is an opportunity for guests to comment on how neat the Queen's bush is and how well Charlie has kept the plants despite not talking to them as much cos wife Chlamydia - oops - I mean Camilla gets jealous, and generally talk shite to each other whilst competing to see who can stick their tongue the furthest up 'Her Madge's royal back side.

Pyramid or Round? Which is best?

The only downside is that because of 'Her Madge's decision to revoke the invite, she has only served to give the bloated piss bag even more publicity! After all, I've posted something about it, so how many other media services and forums have shone a light on the subject. If she had just let him turn up but then banned him from talking at all to anyone about anything apart from how rosy the roses look and how round tea bags are better than pyramid tea bags cos they let the flavour flood out for a richer brew,

then no one would have been the wiser about the whole thing and we wouldn't have vomit inducing pictures of the windbag shoved in our faces all over the media. I don't know, what's this world coming to? anyone?!

I don’t agree that Wenger has ‘Lied’ to us Arsenal fans. He has always kept his cards close to his chest and he more likely made positive comments about Eduardo in case the deal fell through. He was being respectful unlike the Barca lot who have been quite frankly despicable throughout the Cesc Fabregas saga and are still at it now! I cannot believe FIFA/UEFA/CNUTS etc have not stepped in and given Barca a good seeing to. Rossel even admitted that Barca have upset Arsenal with their behaviour and i can only think that to show how things should be done in the football business, the Arsenal Board are quietly launching a major complaint to the authorities about the whole thing. Going back to Wenger’s rather misinterpreted statements about Eduardo i still strongly believe that it was a case of staying positive about the possible future of all players until any deals have been signed sealed and delivered. As a Gooner i hate all the secrecy and constant waiting around for valid confirmation of who Wenger is going for in the Transfer market and who’s leaving, but i also understand he has always been the same purely because he is probably the most professional footballing business manager in the world of football. Just look at how stable Arsenal are financially compared to the other big teams and AFC are still run in the traditional way, just as they were 100 years ago and have remained a top 4 team consistently since 1998. When/If the cack hits the propeller financially in football, AFC will be the only big club standing I promise you! Wenger keeps things shtum because blabbing about who you’re going for too soon only makes the target clubs up their prices or one of the big spending debt ridden clubs come and poach the player from you before you can even rustle up a decent guff. I trust Wenger, i always have, i don't think the majority of Arsenal fans took his comments about Eduardo the wrong way. We all wish Eduardo the best and if we’re honest, he's no longer the player he used to be following that disgusting Roy Keane style tackle from a skilfully inept bollock-head of a defender . I only hope that Aaron Ramsey’s form is not affected by his horrendous injury from another furrow browed thug of a player. What are your thoughts? How do the neutrals see it? Do they feel the same way about their clubs managers?...over to you!

So (Li-Lo lips) Lindsay Lohan is doing bird with another bunch of birds after being sentenced for DUI'ing for the 8th time or something (dick!) Though she'll probably only do about 23 days apparently in the same cell as Plastic fantastic Paris Hilton and walking skeleton Nicole Ritchie who served time in the same nick. But do you think she would have been better off in rehab? even if she did say NO NO NO? ..... Do you think as i do that she has screwed herself up big time for good now? i mean, she used to be a little bit tasty til she decided to swing the other way...is there any way back for Prisoner #47927-5 now? Thoughts?

I have to say i am sooooooooooooooooooooooo chuffed to hear that those f@ckin annoying vuvuzelas have been banned from the Emirates!! Apparently some other swampland, marshy, derelict manure pile heap of shite, full of spuds patch of grass nearby club has also banned them and i believe some Midlands (Northern) club beginning with 'B' where Jasper Carrott lives have also joined the bandwagon. Anyway, i hated those bloody things and feel they spoilt the atmosphere in what was already a pretty dismal World Cup over in Africa. What do you think? Will they light up the Premiership (not literally of course) if other clubs allow them? Or should they be banned by the Premier League Association and the FA altogether?

Apparently the serial flasher and persistent earbleeder Lady Gaga is being swamped with offers from Tea companies to endorse their products due to her curious obsession with the traditional British slurrp! Is this still the kind of dross that passes for news (in the tabloids i might add) - or are her management team merely conjuring up yet another elaborate marketing ploy in an attempt to continue to promote her earbleeding dross (good videos though ...i certainly would...or would I ???....hmmm i feel another poll coming on!....) comments on a post card please to....oh sod it...just add them to this blog it's quicker.
