Call for Scores: The 68th Annual Composers Conference will take place July 22-August 5, 2012 at Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts. Conference Director, Mario Davidowsky, will lead composer seminars with guest composers, Eric Chasalow and Melinda Wagner. Composers are invited to submit scores for judges' selection of ten composition Fellows. The ten chosen Fellows will attend the conference and will have readings and performance of a piece to include any combination of the following:

The workshop will be held at UCSC's Digital Arts Research Center, which features state-of-the-art facilities as well as sweeping vistas of the Monterey Bay. David Cope, Paul Nauert, Peter Elsea, and Daniel Brown will be among those on hand to teach and help students achieve their workshop goals.The program features intensive classes on the basic techniques of algorithmic composition and algorithmic music analysis, learning and using the computer programming language Lisp.

Composers with a unique creative voice and clear compositional ability are invited to participate in a choral composition contest with two $1000 prizes. Prizes will be awarded in two categories: General Category (ages 18 and over, as of entry deadline) and Emerging Composers Category (ages 18–30, as of entry deadline). Each winning composer will also receive up to $500 to assist with travel expenses to attend the final rehearsal(s) and premiere performance. UnTwelve 2011 Microtonal Composition Competition

UnTwelve is pleased to offer our third annual competition for composers in
the budding field of new tunings, temperaments, and microtonality. The
competition welcomes new works of recorded music which reflect the potential

In partnership with Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Minneapolis, MN, the American Composers Forum is pleased to announce an international competition to select a composer who will be commissioned to set the Magnificat text for use in a liturgical or concert setting.

The intent of this program is to enrich and strengthen the repertoire of sacred choral music by encouraging composers to create music specific to that genre.

Composers of all ages and nationalities are eligible to apply. The composer selected for this project will receive a commission in the amount of $2,500.00.

Vox Novus is calling for one-minute pieces composed for Fifteen Minutes of
Fame: Peter Reit, solo horn to be performed at the July 8, 2012 Composer's
Voice concert in New York City. The one-minute pieces are to be written
specifically for this project, which will be performed by Peter Reit, french
horn. All works must be 60 seconds or less.

Pieces should be for solo-unaccompanied french horn.
