So you’re human. Somehow, out of the cosmic soup of time and space you ended up in charge of a human body and a human mind. Surely you never asked for these dubious responsibilities, but you’re stuck with them.

As a human being, you are a beautiful, powerful, and supremely ridiculous creature. Your mind and body may not be perfect, but they do make you an astoundingly potent being.

Ideally, you’d take full advantage, and use these priceless gifts to achieve glorious triumphs, experience great loves and adventures, fulfill your dreams and leave the world better than how you found it.

But it’s so hard. We can only do what we know, and often the results are uninspiring. We end up with careers we don’t like, goals that have slowly become idle fantasies, feelings of lack and regret that won’t leave us alone, even disdain for human beings in general. Some fare even worse than that, and find themselves drowning in debt, poor health, depression, and addiction.

Born in 1978 in Paris. Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

Raised up with mangas and hip-hop culture, passionated by art and music since his childhood, SupaKitch found in the Street a large choice of mediums and sources of inspiration that flourish in his work. His first graffiti dates back to 1990. Around 1994, graffiti took a major place in his life : under the moniker "Ride", he founded the HV crew with his friends. A year later, he meets Hazy (photographer and graffiti artist) and Eone (music producer and graffiti writer), which leads him to his first works combining various techniques (painting, photography and graphics) exploring the theme of music.

Not really aware that he could earn a living with his art, he became artistic director at the age of 21 and works for several advertising agencies from 1999. During this period he met his future wife Koralie, a student in architecture at that time, and an active street artist. She encouragedd him to present his first exhibitions in the early 2000s : this is the time when his name SupaKitch was born.

Thru the website ekosystem.org he discovered he is not alone in having a more open approach to graffiti, where one dares to mix various techniques in the street (spray, brushes and acrylic paint, collage, silkscreen, ...). He's the witness of the birth of a movement that is beginning to be called Street Art. SupaKitch starts to collaborate with brands such as Sixpack. The most interesting collaboration he did is probably the one with Carhartt and its "Tour D'Amour" in 2006. Brendan Monroe, Wayne Horse, Koralie and SupaKitch painted murals in some of the brand's stores across Europe, in Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, Paris, San Sebastian and Lisbon.

A lover of fashion, SupaKitch has founded with Koralie, who shares his life and his passions, their clothing collection, Metroplastique, and won the prize of "Young Entrepreneur of Fashion" with it in 2005. At this time he also start collaborating with art galleries in Paris and Miami, and Galerie Elegance in Taipei, Taiwan. The latter has been collecting SupaKitch's works since the last few years in order to gather the most important collections of paintings by the artist worldwide.

SupaKitch had his first major solo show in 2007, which was based on an original concept he called "Ubiquity", as the exhibition set up at the same time in two different places, the two branches of the same gallery in Paris and in Miami. For this show he explored a wide range of mediums : large canvases, sculptures, installations, screen prints, laser cut, vinyl discs and music.

SupaKitch is a complete artist brimming with ideas; he has created a universe with Asian influences, pop-romantic and musical, where anthropomorphic creatures such as the Supanimal, who looks like a red panda, a fox and a bird, are used as metaphors. SupaKitch composes graphic melodies and continues to explore the concept he's named "Listen To My Picture", by renewing the technique of circuit-board. Quite similar to etching, circuit-board symbolizes the beginning of progress in the field of electronics.

This contrast of age, nostalgia and advanced technology is omnipresent in his work. Thus vinyl disc confronts printed circuit, painting a scenery of the current music industry like a real "DJ of images". Another technique has been added to his skills when in 2009 SupaKitch met Caro, a renown tattoo artist, who introduced him to this technique. In 2010, he has been invited by DCSHOES and the Parisian tattoo salon BleuNoir to participate to the exhibition "Burning Ink" and to tattoo his own drawings himself on the people.

Taylor was previously the accessories director for Teen Vogue magazine.The editor has become a style icon for her model-like body, flame red hair (she is secretive as to which hairdresser maintains her red hair, although she has revealed they are on the east side in Manhattan)] and distinctive clothing items, such as chunky necklaces and scarves.

I'm ready for something daring. A bold statement, a fresh eccentric piece. I've been thinking about getting deep pink jeans for weeks. I am slightly considering lighter shades. I'm still not sure if I can pull it off. I'm definitely going to get one, i'm just not sure when. So at the moment, i'm just going with the flow since I haven't seen any pink jeans here. Still, inspirations are always lovely to admire, a cup of tea if you will.

Lovely Simple DIY Projects

I've found so many wonderful DIY tutorials and websites the past few days and I wanted to share them with you. Most of these I've been considering to make them myself for my own room but I've got plenty school assignments I haven't gotten around to complete yet.

1. Dreamcatchers

Mini ones are great as handmade gifts. Bigger ones are a great touch to make your room get that unique touch of je ne sais quoi. Plus, you can decorate 'em ANYway you want ! Use different string colors, different beads and shells. They're even good for hanging earrings and necklaces. Else, you could just use it for it's main purpose - catching bad dreams. :)

At first I thought they were really complicated but it's actually doesn't seem so much now. The first tutorial below used a bangle and it hit me that this is actually not hard at all ! Ofcourse, for bigger ones you'd have to use a different base but I'm sure any firm round piece will do great ! :)

2. Ribbon-Bracket Shelves

Aren't they just darling ? You can choose your own ribbon colors, add cool pins to it and it's only a 3-step tutorial. Perfect for people who like it simple.

3. Catch-All Shelf

I find this peculiarly interesting and creatively functional. This is a great project if you've got a wooden magazine holder and you're thinking about giving it new life. Maybe add some decoupage to make it look more.. funky ?

4. Chalkboard Paint

Everytime I see a tutorial on making chalkboard paint, I get so excited and bookmark 'em right away. I definitely think chalkboard paints are so creative and make a brilliant touch to any room be it on walls, tables or jars ! Buying them at stores cost a pretty penny and they've only got two colors, so why not go DIY? They're so simple to make and you can use any color under the sky and beyond.

5. Boho-chic Flannel Lanterns

These are so pretty, and you can decorate them to your own unique style with beads, sequins, fabrics and rhinestones. I love the detailings <3 Imagine the shiny sequins and beads reflecting lights all over your room. :)
