soldier quest

2021-05-01T23:10:00.001-07:00

I am a soldier

I know my life is a test

To be better is my quest

Always feeling blessed

Heading to the barber for trim

Blessings run from God's stream

I don't back down from no sounds

Speaking my music for a higher sound

Reloading right now for another round

My music is like tge bomb for my enemies

I take tge solo path.

Ain't no one to rely upon

RMDIR folders on C:\ drive with denied access

2016-12-11T18:56:00.004-08:00

There are temporary folders downloaded on the C:\ drive but the computer which requires to change each folder user permissions before deleting them and that can be tedious if the number is 300.

----------------
Left click on c drive, right click-properties, security, click edit, permissions for everyone, check full control, modify, read and execute, list folder contents, read and write. Apply and O.K. No more empty folders. Greeting

CString ss = _T("Hello");
ss = ss + _T(" World");

//but, when you are dealing with file loc c:
CString ss = _T("c:\\clsdata"), temp;
ss = ss + _T("\\jobs");//will not work
temp.Format(_T("%s\\jobs"), ss);// will work

MFC OnPaint refresh draw Flickering

2016-02-05T08:04:00.000-08:00

The best way to stop flickering is to have another member variable, and to redraw only when necessary. For instance, I chance the cursor every now but that can cause significant redrawing. Using an extra variable, I only redraw when necessary.

void COGraphCtrl::OnPaint()
{
if(m_RePaint)
{
CPaintDC dc(this);

dc.FillSolidRect(&clientRect,RGB(255,255,255));

With all my struggles downloading Oracle database 12c express on windows 8
from receiving a missing perl.exe file

The one solution which seemed to work is to uncheck the pcd (pluggable database container)

(CMD property not found in autorun.inf)

2015-06-05T07:15:00.000-07:00

The pop happened for me when I uninstalled the weblogic oracle and tried to re-install it again.
I tried many forums suggestions but it didn't work.
What did work was download the jar version
and execute this command on the cmd line as an administrator

java -jar [jar-file.jar]

and everything worked after that.
make sure java is in the environment variables and the jar-file is referenced well or in the right folder

Objective C

2011-06-17T22:35:00.000-07:00

Objective C is the programming language of the iPhone. It is similar to C but there are a lot of differences.
For example, a simple class in C would look like:

class classname : public superclassname
{
protected:
 // instance variables

public:
 // Class (static) functions
 static void * classMethod1();
 static return_type classMethod2();
 static return_type classMethod3(param1_type param1_varName);

 // Instance (member) functions
 return_type instanceMethod1(param1_type param1_varName, param2_type param2_varName);
 return_type instanceMethod2WithParameter(param1_type param1_varName, param2_type param2_varName=default);
};
In Objective C, It would be:

@interface classname : superclassname
{
   // instance variables
}
+ classMethod1;
+ (return_type)classMethod2;
+ (return_type)classMethod3:(param1_type)param1_varName;

- (return_type)instanceMethod1:(param1_type)param1_varName :(param2_type)param2_varName;
- (return_type)instanceMethod2WithParameter:(param1_type)param1_varName andOtherParameter:(param2_type)param2_varName;
@end

The , +, means it is a static class method
The, -, means it is an instance method.

In objective C, it is import, instead of include

I will include more...

R programming language

2009-04-16T04:05:00.000-07:00

In computing, R is a programming language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is an implementation of the S programming language with lexical scoping semantics inspired by Scheme.

R was created by Ross Ihaka and Robert Gentleman at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and is now developed by the R Development Core Team. It is named partly after the first names of the first two R authors (Robert Gentleman and Ross Ihaka), and partly as a play on the name of S.^[1] The R language has become a de facto standard among statisticians for the development of statistical software.^[2]^[3]

R is widely used for statistical software development and data analysis.^[4] R is part of the GNU project^[5], and its source code is freely available under the GNU General Public License, and pre-compiled binary versions are provided for various operating systems. R uses a command line interface, though several graphical user interfaces are available.

Number conversion

2007-05-27T08:55:00.000-07:00

In this section I want to talk about how to convert between Decimal and Binary and Hexadecimal?

From Binary to Decimal.
you multiply by 2 with increasing degrees
for ex: 1000 is 2^3+0=8

From Decimal to Binary
You divide by 2 until 0 and you assemble the numbers backward
for ex: 8%2=0, 4%2=0, 2%2=0, 1%2=1 --> 1000

From Hexadecimal to Binary
You translate every character in the Hexadecimal to a 4bit binary.
Ex: AB-> 1010 1011

From Binary to Hexadecimal
You translate every 4bit from right to left and give the hexadecimal value
Ex: 11110010 -> F2

some basic definitions about computers

2007-05-27T08:25:00.000-07:00

what is a computer?
It is a machine designed to manipulate data based on the instructions.

what is the CPU?
the part of a computer (a microprocessor chip) that does most of the data processing.

what is a motherboard?
The main circuit board for a computer.

what is a compiler?
a program that decodes instructions written in a higher order language and produces an assembly language program.

what is an assembler?
A program to convert assembly language into machine language.

what is LLL?
LLL stands for Low Level Language. It is also called machine language. It is the language that the computer can understand.

what is HLL?
HLL stands for High Level Language. It is the language that is preferred by programmers because it is close to the human syntax. All HLL programs must be rendered into LLL code in order to be executed by the CPU.

what is the Control Unit?
It is the part that translates every instruction so they can be executed.

what is MultiTasking?
The computer gives the user the illusion of executing many programs at the same time by switching between each program very fast.

what is MultiProcessing?
The work load can be divided among many processors.

what is Networking?
Computers or devices that share ressources.
