hey everyone,

not posted for a long long time now will get back into it soon though :D

One of my current projects is to create a site builder you can follow my progress here

But just for you out there i fort i would upload a video of what i currently have.

Don't under estimate what you see here there is a hell of alot of code to make this work.
There are currently 813 file and 192 folder and 7.64 MB and it is only half complete
i recon the number of files could be cut down by about 100 MAX.
i still need to alot of work

ok so now we are going to learn how to use the zpanel datebase and how to link tables to gether to get the final result. We are first going to display

so as you should see and undertand i am make two sql querys here.

The first one is to find out the user's id from there username supplied by the session varable zUsername. We will find the users id by looking in the zpanel daterbase and looking under the table z_accounts
but becuase the users full name is not in this table we just find the users id
The second and final stage is to take that user's id to find the user's fullname in the table z_personal.

i hope this tuerial has shown you how to link zpanel table to get the final product.

but as you can see there is quite a bit of code there to find something so small so there are two things we can do to make it smaller!

make a where sql daterbase function

user a different session

use both above to make it tiny :D

make a function so first in your module directory make a folder called functions and then in that fresh folder make a file called daterbase.php. in that file copy and post this code and save or download load code here

now we need to edit the index file to use this function instead of keep repleating it over and over gain.
rmember we have to include the function file and remeber the rule with the link

now all i have done here is used are function instead of typing out all that mysql query stuff. i have included the function file. and made the message
code slightly smaller.

now we can use a another session that is set on login that will make this even shorter and that session is $_SESSION['zUserID'] ye the users id

so lets still use the function but we dont need to find user id any more as we all ready have it here $_SESSION['zUserID']
so all you have to do is change the varable $userid

from

Advance module making part 1 session and links

In this section we will be look at 3 main things. These sections are where people go wrong when first learning to wirte a module.

sessions
any kind of link

So first of all we will be folowing on from the hello world module. You can download the file from that tuterial here . read the read me file to install the files.
so no we are going to look into sessions. now you should all ready know php therefore know what a session is right?
so when the user logs in a session is set with the username of the person who is login. the session name is $_SESSION['zUsername']
Guess what now we are going it edit the index.php file. what we are going to do is make a page that says welcome {username here}
so copy and past this into index.php. I exsplain what each line does below in the code

now load the module in zpanel controll panel and you could see welcome with your username after that.

Session

ok so now we need to know how to handle links. This is quite annoying at the start as links are not local to the file. what i mean is the index file is included into the main zpanel file.
so for example i want to add a picture into the index.php page we just edited.
First add a file called images in the hello folder and add this image

and copy and past the code below into the index.php file

now if you load th module you will see a picture under the welcome message
as you can see the picture link varable that holds the link to the picture is modules/account/hello/images/HelloWorld.jpg
now the reson why it is like that is because this file is being included into the main zpanel index file and that is located at c:\zpanel\panel\index.php
so what to remember
all links must be made as if they were made of the main zpanel file located at the panels root

now here is how you would include a php file into your module index file
ok so now i want to keep all the above but at the bottom of my module i want to add my details. well lets think we already assined that infomation into the modinfo.zp.php

Making an zpanel module

Hello world example

Here i am going to show you how to create a module for panel 6. We will start of with the basics and as we progress through, we will be touching some more advanced stuff

First of all lets make the old fashioned hello world
so first we need to create a folder. Now here we learn about the zpanel module structor. so go to you zpanel folder. normall located at c:\zpanel
.

from here you want to go into panel and once in there go into modules. you are now in the module section of zpanel

now each one of these folders is a section on the zpanel control panel. So for this example we are going to choose the account folder.
now do the following steps

make a folder in the account folder called hello
make a file called index.php
make a file called modinfo.zp.php

Finally open your IDE (any editor that can edit html or php). For now i am going to use netbeans.
first open your modinfo.zp.php file and copy and past this infomation in.

now i hope you understand basic php. So edit the regions to the correct infomation. Save the document and close it. now we need to find an icon. As you can see in the zpanel controll panel all modules have an icon.So go out and find your self an icon. i sugest you search iconfinder.com they have some very good quality free icons. Once you have found your icon just past it in the fold we have been working in c:\zpanel\panel\modules\account\hello. make sure that the icons name is the same as what you said it was in the modinfo.zp.php.

Now last but not least we need to make the content to display! Well go ahead then, open up index.php whitch currently has no content in it.This is the file where you will add all you module code.for are example we will add this:

Save the file and open your zpanel control panel and under the accout section should be your module open it up and have a look :p

let me explain what is going on here (this is the example on the website)

now you include the jquery and the jquery validation file

you make your form how you want
now this is simple on each text box you add a class eg

now i have hightlighed in red the class now that is what tells jquery what you are validating!
so that example above will make it so the users has to enter a value and has to be in email format

tell you what ill show you another example
this time i am validating name

<em>*</em><input id="cname" name="name" size="25" class="required" minlength="2" />

now look at the class this time it just say required that mean you just have to put a value in eg j
now there is not many people this a name of 1 letter so now we add minlenght text in green that tells jquery that the value enter has to be more than 2 letter easy hay!

so what are you waiting for just go to the site and read about
the plug in does many things like number email same value as the other text box and so on.

the message that are being show if the user does something wrong can also be altered i found the easy way of doing that with out writing any more code is to go into the plug-in file and do a search and find on the word number or minlength and soon it will take you to the part in the code where you can alter the message being displayed

and before i go you can also add css to sytle the way the message look

as you can see what that does us the error message come up red with a chosen font etc

by the way all you have to do is activate the jquery to work on the form with this small code

where it say #commentForm change that to you form name REMEMBER to keep the # so if my form name was hello i would change it too #hello

Drop shaddow effect with simple css how good and cool is that and now images!

as you may know i can code php but the design side i all ways sort of well did not pay as much attension.

so this is why i am learning now. and why i have a few post of the subject

so this is a really cool way of syling divs. It gives them a like drop shaddow effect. And best of all it uses NO IMAGES yes no images involed all css how cool is that.

How fast does you website load?

in any good web developers mine when designing or developing a website is how fast will my website load

i mean you don't want the users going for tea whilst your website loads lol :)

i have used this quite abit when design and making websites for people.
not because it give me a general time it also lets you choose the browser and country to try your site in.

it also shows screen shot of you site loading so you can see what loads first and last.

They wanted to know how they host their own website.
Well this is total in my zone.

There is an open source project called zpanel. I know this because I do some work for them making modules and helping out on the forum.

So what is it?
Well here is a snippet of their website
ZPanel is a FREE Web hosting control panel written to work effortlessly with Microsoft® Windows™ based servers or computers. This solution can turn a home or professional server into a fully fledged, easy to use and manageweb hosting server and utilizes add-on modules to expand its capabilities.
So what can you do with it?
Well you can host your website what do I mean my host well
People can go to www.youdomainanme.co.uk and see your website. You simply turn your computer into a server
But of course your computer needs to be on.

now you are now think of the electricity bill well no worries the average computer take about £10 a year to run so with yours on all the time it is probably about I don’t know £20 - £30 a year
And to buy web hosting it can cost well over that. and remember when you buy the cheap hosting you get shared webhosting meaning that other people share that server / vm with you. you may ssay what is the problem with that will
imcrease rise of getting hacked
you dont have access to the php.ini
and loads more
but if you use you own web server you have access to all of the files and zpanel is ultra secure!

But how can you make money
You can sell your webhosting to other people!£30 a year or £100 or be nice and £10 a year what ever pirce you want. It is your server lol

i have just started up my blog :D

so my aim is to help every one out there and build a big community.
