Been using the time at hand before the end of the world, to put together what has been a painstakingly long process. I've done a rough draft on my sketch pad, and the ideas behind it are there. This is a work in progress, so please, do not take this as final.

Well, it seems as though Spark editor hates me now! Oh the sweet sorrow of my lines and graphs, how they besiege me! Hey folks! Sorry there haven't been any updates thus far. Going back to School, work, and amongst other things, there haven't been any real updates.

Yeah, there's really not much to say, but to apologize for my recent inactivity. For those who are silently following me, Love you! For those who are religiously following my work, Love you more! Please be patient as Unknown worlds finds the bugs in the Spark editor, so I may resume my work. Shortly, there will be coffee and cakes available on your way down. Please do enjoy!

Quick! Run around in circles!

Don't be alarmed!... just yet :D This is a hallway that leads out of Marine spawn. It includes one resource nozzle, and a few doohickeys, and doodads.

Also, another quick update on the Marine spawn corridor.

Changed face values of light intensity on main lights on power generator ( far left. )
Fixed major prop issues that collided with player models.
WIP with sounds.

So I have a layout complete for the marine spawn. It has two primary entrances, 1 vent accessible by marines and skulks, and a secondary route.

Past few days have been pretty fun... New ideas, and some new concepts. Hope you like them :D

Something weird!

So I had some free time over the Father's Day weekend, however, nothing really was put into design for some reasons or another...

But what we do have is something weird! Apparently I did this in my sleep, and brain zombies were eating me alive. (Just kidding!) This is the 3rd secondary hallway that leads to no where... It's a deadzone... This hallway will consist of wires, chairs and computers. At the end of the hallway, you will find absolutely nothing! Isn't that amazing? Not really, but that's the idea behind this level. Semi-long hallways from the Natural Selection 1 layout, with the new and improved (somewhat) design of the Natural Selection 2 layouts. They consist of Tech Resource points AND Resource points. Dual resource rooms anyone? Maybe 1 of them is fine, but anything more will be a disaster in this design!

The flow behind this design is based off of MANY ideas put into this one. Originally, the makers of NS2 wanted the games to last 10-20 minutes on average. With this map, we're talking anywhere from half hour to 1 hour. Why? Who wants to play a round for 10-20 minutes and collect dirt cheap amount of points for nothing? Why spend meaningless time collecting various points, and than in the middle of it, BAM, the game ends. Don't think so!

Design of the map is purely original, and unique. Hence the title of my blog! In today's concept and 3D development realm, we all choose to "re-make" certain movie scenes, or other games! Where as I, I like to do it the old fashioned way! Paper, or plastic? In this case, I'll go with Concrete N' Metal!

Hey folks! I'm still here and alive... Thankfully! I'll be producing more updates in the time to come. I've been busy with work, so it has left me an inconsiderable time to create this project. Looking forward from hearing from your feedbacks!

Marine spawn update

So I spent the afternoon on a Friday developing the marine spawn exit which ultimately leads to the sub basement hallway. I'm now experiencing PC bogging due to the Spark Editor. I'm pretty sure they're going to release a fix for it :]

Here's a work in progress. I removed the stair well brushes that were previously there. The faces weren't being too happy with it, so I used prop walls and the such in the mean time. Keep in mind, this is a rough draft of what I'd like to see done. It's a little repetitive, but it'll do :]
