Desperation...

   Every now and again you're caught up in a moment of lets say DESPERATION. Desperation to achieve something. It can be anything (personal views of that particular individual). I think I'm at that very point in my life now. This is when everything you try goes unbelievably wrong. When in the midst of all your fears, pain, agony, worries and insanity you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere deep down inside your head you can hear the cries and echo of a shrill voice shouting 'ENOUGH with this bollocks' Prove yourself.
   Despite the enjoy-life-while-you-can wisdom of Ecclesiastes, I've been mildly depressed. Partly because I'm exhausted and partly because I'm desperate to achieve something before I turn 23. I'm struggling to keep up with my priorities and I feel really despicable.You know the kinda feeling... It's like I'm starving yet at the same time I'm feeling nauseous. I'm striving to achieve something which I've no idea what it is. Lame I know.I've loads of friends and they try to understand but, how can they understand when I can't even fathom what's erroneous. No one's threatening to kneecap me to achieve the lets say 'indifference' I'm after but still per se.
   Another thing about desperation is it lures you into a land of dumbness. You can't think properly nor acting smartly. At the moment I'm more or less feeling like the fool 'Roman Abramovich' who apparently is willing to pay £50 million + Anelka for an out of form striker Torres. Desperate people tend to do stupid things. So I've decided to take an offensive against this mild depression about my desperation. Ive become annoyed at it. :P. I'm not sure what the original evolutionary value of this desperation induced depression was but, I can guarantee you this. Mine is not helping me to thing straight, or concentrate on my work or even blog regularly. Bummer I know.
   Because of this so called 'Desperation Induced Depression'  my brain seems to distancing itself from me. Since my college days (ie- for the past 6 months) I feel like I'm taking a long slow slide into a pool of dumbness and ignorance. Truth is I've become embarrassingly ignorant. If things continue at this rate by my 25th birthday I'll be spending my life watching Koffee with Karan season 7 and drooling into a bucket. *Scary to think*
   My expensive college education is receding into a cloud of haze. I can see this happen right in front of my eyes. Sure, I remember loads of stuff from my college days like the Goodday cookies left open under the desk is edible even after 7 days as long as you don't expect it to be crunchy. But, as for the bona fide book reading I practically remember nothing. Pathetic!!

   Maybe I'll ponder over these thoughts with a pack of Oreo's and a jug of Coffee. Until then...

PS: Is this even an apt title for this blog or is my ignorance and dumbness taking over my brain??

The Most Ridiculous Rant I've Heard This Month.

"It happens only once in every 823 years" - This particular sentence was the most common fb status update and Tweet I came across this month. Folks what these innocent people were trying to say was ' In this month(October 2010) we have 5 Fridays , 5 Saturdays & 5 Sundays.' It never ceases to amaze me how gullible these Social Networking sites is making us all. What's even more astonishing is the fact that just because a single fool posted this as a tweet or status update or blog or whatever 100's of them reposted this without even sparing a moment to think about it. Well one thing is true though. October 2010 indeed has Five Fridays,Saturdays & Sundays. The rest of it is just bullshite. Just think of it. For a month to have 5 long weekends should have 31 days. So we can exclude February, April, June, September & November. All the remaining 7 months has the possibility to have 5 long weekends with the first day of those months being a Friday. A year has 365 days. Which means it has 52 weeks and one day. So because of that one day every successive year starts on a day after the year before. Eg : 1st January 2010 was Friday and 1st January of 2011 will be Saturday. But, every 4 years we get Leap Years. So these changes aren't that regular. We would have got the same days for every 7 years if it wasn't for the leap years. Because of the Leap Years this happens like say every 8-11 years. On average every 8 years we get the same days in the year. October 1999 had 5 long weekends just like October 2010. The number weeks in a year is 52. Which gives us 12 variable length months.So every eighth month has 5 long weekends which means July 2011 will have 5 long weekends. How is this even close to 823 years???? Bollocks!! I wonder where does these people come up with such an absurd and stupid theory???? Hoping these Idiots don't breed for the sake of the World.

LOVE is our finest human grace.It is unconditioned by expectation, neediness or the desire to change, control, empower or rescue anyone.Love lets go and never clings. It takes nothing away from us and it multiplies into tens and thousands when we share it. Whatever is true about love is true about each and every one of us. Love and we are just one single miracle. Our very identity is love. It is not something to be achieved It is something that we always were and still are. It is experienced uniquely and differently by each and every one of us.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of saints and angels, but have no love, I am only a resounding gong of a clanging bell. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and facts and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, empty oceans, but have no love, I am next to nothing. It is as close to heaven as we are likely to get in this life. Without it, our lives are reduced to meaningless drudgery, misunderstanding and emptiness.

Love cannot be forced upon a person. It has to gush out from the bottom of our heart like a eternal spring fountain. It has to flow like a perennial river. Love, because you want to change things. Love will alter the way you see the world and through that, the way the world is. Love, not because you expect something in return. Love what you do. Love to learn new things, to meet and to know others, to understand and to help. Love makes the world go round.

The elusive mystery about love is that we can show it totally and yet we can never really know how much we love someone or just how intensely we are being loved. It is deeper than we can imagine or ever have imagined. Sometimes a wink , a smile, a touch , a word or a gift can reveals the depth of the love we have never guessed was there. But, not even then do we know the full extent of love , only of its striking , sustaining and momentary manifestations. The limitations is in our minds which do not have the capacity to conceive or appreciate how profound love is. Love is ineffable. We can never adequately put our love into words because words are categories of our minds and love is a living experience. That is why love is such a unique mystery. How poignant that we have the intellects inadequate to grasp the most precious of all realities!

No. Tendulkar is about a plantation standing up to the typhoon, the skyscraper that stands tall, the cannon that booms. Solid. Robust. Focused. The last word is the key. He loves the game deeply but without the eccentricities of the romantic. There is a match to be won at all times.Sachin Tendulkar is an extraordinary cricketer whose durability and skill have for many ears uplifted his country’s cricket team. Now he holds most of the game’s most prized batting record. It has been a magnificent, underestimated achievement. Ever since he first appeared as precocious teenager Tendulkar has known nothing except exorbitant expectations.

Sachin Tendulkar has been playing top-class cricket for 21 years and he's still producing blistering innings, still looking hungry, still demolishing attacks, still a prized wicket, still a proud competitor. Indians spend billions of dollars every year trying to lighten their skins. Advertisements for the appropriate creams are shown between overs. India knows that its film stars have not crossed cultural lines. Booker prize winners cannot inspire a nation half as well as the sight of a demonstrably Asian boy repeatedly cracking feared bowling around. It was his combination of aggression and productivity that defined him. And he has been untarnished by scandal.For 19 years Tendulkar has inspired his countrymen. Supporters cherish his introductory masterpieces, daring and almost cheeky, his hundreds scored in adversity, and his later more restrained efforts. It is idiotic to expect a man to be the same at 36 as at 16. I started watching cricket when I was like 4 years old. From that day till today I've never missed a Sachin's Innings. I grew up watching him play and I still love watching him play. He truly is a cricketing Idol to me. He's more than a Role Model.

For me it has always been a privilege to watch Tendulkar bat. His recent 214 vs the Oz was no short of brilliance. It was a perfectly composed and crafted innings. He made the Oz attack look as fearsome as a toilet-roll-commercial puppy.

Tendulkar's feats are prodigious. He has scored as many runs overseas as in his backyard, has flogged Brett Lee at his fastest and Shane Warne at his most obtuse, has flourished against swing and cut, prospered in damp and dry. Nor can his record be taken for granted. Batsmen exist primarily to score runs. It is a damnably difficult task made to look easy by a handful of expert practitioners. Others have promised and fallen back, undone by the demands, unable to meet the moment. Tendulkar has kept going, on his toes, seeking runs in his twinkling way.But it has not only been about runs. Along the way Tendulkar has provided an unsurpassed blend of the sublime and the precise. In him the technical and the natural sit side by side, friends not enemies, allies deep in conversation. Romantics talk about those early morning trips to Shivaji Park, and the child eager to erect the nets and anxious to bat till someone took his wicket. They want to believe that toil alone can produce that straight drive and a bat so broad that periodically it is measured. But it was not like that.From the start the lad had an uncanny way of executing his strokes perfectly. His boyhood coaches insist that their role was to ensure that he remained unspoilt. There was no apprenticeship. Tendulkar was born to bat.

Sachin's emotions, are the common Indian's emotions. When he took those three runs to reach 17,000, Sunil Gavaskar rightly said, those runs are as much as the people's as Sachin's. Indeed, I felt so much more relaxed after he reached that awesome landmark.

A hundred for Sachin, is a hundred for the nation and an insult to him is an insult to the nation.

So what if we lost the Kohinoor? No one can take away Sachin Tendulkar from us. Not even God.

Very Very Special Laxman has become a very very sickening sight for the Australian cricket team.He guided India to victory over Australia yet again and thus maintained a record, unsurpassed even by the greatest cricketer of his time (Sachin Tendulkar),of repeatedly fouling up Australian plans.This sure is a squeaky bum time for the men in baggy greens.Australian captain Ricky Ponting, generous in his praise for Laxman, could only smile ruefully about a man who, even with a bad back, completely flummoxed his attack.

"Even with that (a bad back) today he showed what sort of class player he is, he played very well and got the tail enders to stick in there with him, and he had a knack of finding the boundary late in the innings.He has been a bit of a thorn in our side, there's no doubt about that, I guess him and Sachin would be the two who've done the most damage over the years, a couple of guys who've played a lot against us and have got good records against us." said Ponting.

It should now be clear to Australia that there is no conventional cricket way that Australia can get VVS Laxman out when they need to.Tim Nielsen and others will study many hours of footage, they’ll have designed software packages looking for flaws in VVS Laxman, they might even think they have found some.They will be wrong.For there has always been two Laxmans.

But when he steps out for a high-stakes battle, Laxman is anybody's equal. He makes his shot selection with a great surgeon's decisiveness in pressure-cooker situations and turns what might have been an attritional combat into something sublimely beautiful.Laxman did not bat an eyelid as he turned tightrope-walking without a net into an art form. He was at his bloody brilliant best. Sheer Class speaks for itself.

If there were kids with dreams of donning the baggy green some day watching the match in Melbourne or Sydney or Brisbane, they might have heaved a sigh of relief, given the classy Indian's age.

But let's lap it all up while it is still on offer. Too many things these days are hyped as Very, Very Special stuff. Forget the cliché. Laxman simply does a Laxman… again.

THE HALF WAY THERE PARADOX

To all the Philosophers and disciples of the like this blog is posted only in jest. When I'm in a certain subliminal subconscious state of mind I really do find a lot of these philosophical stuff interesting. Okay, let me cut to the chase and talk about why I chose this title.

I was presented with this idea from a friend awhile back.

Did you know that you can never really get where you are going. It’s true according to philosophy, and they will prove it to you. The reason is that in order to get somewhere you must first go halfway between that point and the point you are at now. And once you are at the halfway point you must go halfway again. And we all know that going halfway is not going all the way; therefore you will never reach your destination because you will always have to go halfway.

It’s a fundamental paradox that I guess thinkers(not me) find fascinating. And yes, it was interesting for like forty seconds. But then I say, OK, but I did actually get there. It happened. It’s real. Try and prove me wrong.

There are guys like Einstein who will respond to that argument with: Well, how do you know anything is real or true? Couldn’t everything be just a manipulation of our minds? Could everything just be a mirage? His Theory of Relativity gave me some real hard times in high school. This guy even went a step further and gave us a theory about Parallel Universe. I never really got hold of that theory.

I was quite fascinated by the FRIENDSHIP PARADOX. It's a really interesting phenomenon.The paradox is explained by the fact that one is more likely to be friends with someone who has more friends and less likely to be friends with someone who has fewer friends.

If an individual has more than average friends, they are more likely to have friends with less friends than them, because there are more people with less friends than them. If an individual has fewer friends than average, they are more likely to have friends with more friends than the individual, because there are a lot of people who have more friends than the individual. By this explanation, it is clear that on average, everyone has the average number of friends, and everyone's friends have the average number of friends, which means that on average, an individual's friends have the same number of friends as that individual.

That’s another paradox. We could all just be in some sort of Matrix or computer simulated world and we wouldn’t know it. And we could just as well all have invisible magic black hats above our heads controlling our every action, and we wouldn’t know it. Considering the fact that these arguments have a foundation in the fact that “we wouldn’t know it”, why waste time trying to defunct arguments that are based on what we think we do know? It’s an absolutely pointless endeavor. Reality is what we can sensibly gather from what we see, and the rest is just imagination and creativity.

It’s like arguing with someone about color. Perhaps we don’t all see the same colors. Maybe all of our eyes see different hues for the same classification of red. If could be possible, as one can’t really describe color other than to relate it to things that are that color. But why would it matter? Whether we all see different hues for the same color or not doesn’t really affect anything anyway. And nobody will ever be able to prove it right or wrong, it’s just another one of those “what-ifs?”

The problem with intellectuals is that they can sometimes are too busy creating interesting conversation and thoughts in their head that they are unable to draw any conclusions.I mean, honestly, no matter how interesting it may be to discover what the definition of true wilderness is, but, who the hell really bothers about it.May be thats the reason why I never considered humanities as a subject of interest. Since I'm tagged as "useless" these days I've nothing else better to do than to come up with Half Way there paradoxes and bore the hell out of the persons who are reading this. I will thank philosophers for coming up with philosophy and providing me with some laughs between my friends and some entertaining thought when I have nothing better to do with my mind. At-least I managed to waste 5 mins of your time. :P

The One Good Deed I've decided to commit to on my B'day!!

Eyes are known to be the most precious jewel of human body. Whenever I think about myself, the most adorable thing I find is my eyes. I'm one of those person who dreams on the stuff which I've seen.My eyes blessed me with the ability to see and enjoy beauty of nature, science and human creation and above all the "beautiful girls". Eyes helps us to know and understand the expressions & feelings and joy of other persons.Eyes speak the language of heart. The feelings which we cannot show, which we cannot express, sometimes they are easily expressed with eyes.I love my Eyes. I makes me really uneasy even to think "What if I had No Eyes" and coming to think about that I consider myself lucky to have a eyesight compared to all those unfortunate persons with no vision.

There are uncountable persons in our country who are devoid of this beautiful feeling to see this world with their own eyes.They only know one color BLACK. No doubt these people live their life like a normal person and they enjoy the world with the eyes of other persons. But still there is a question “Is it possible for these persons to see the life on earth with their own eyes? Do they ever able to see the faces of their loved ones once in their life time? Do they ever differentiate between black and other colors on this earth?? And answer of all these questions is YES. They can if we decide to donate our EYES.

Yes I've Decided to DONATE MY EYES

Don't ask me what made me make this decision. It's bit too personal to post on the blog. I had been thinking about this for long time and at times the idea of getting my eyes ripped out of my body made me sick. My Heart was against my brain. I want to be honest here. I'm too possessive with my body and organs. Aren't we all? But, somehow I got the courage to go on and now I've decided I'm donating my eyes for sure.

I haven't talked about this to my Parents but I'm soon gonna do it. I wanted to do it on my b'day but I've been too lazy to proceed. May be I'll donate on Christmas.I'm quite certain my kins will be against this but, I'm sure I'll convince them and show them the perspective of real sense for there's this very scientific, practical and noble angle to organ donations. It is a beautiful, extremely tempting proposition to use a part of your body — that will anyway turn to ashes, or be eaten up by bugs underground - to show someone a world he/she has yet only heard of.

Now the BIG Question. How to Donate the eyes? The procedure is quite simple

a) Pledge your eyes with a nearest eye bank and inform about the same to your near and dear ones. This is very important as the eyes have to be removed within 6 hours of death

b) After death, ensure that wet cotton is placed over the closed eyelids to keep the tissue moist. Raise the head with a pillow and keep the fans off (AC can be on).

c) The dear ones will call the eye bank and doctors from eye bank will come to your place. The eye extraction takes only 15 minutes. Doctors will also collect some blood for testing to ensure that the cornea is safe for transplant. The doctors replaces the eye hollow with artificial eyes.

d) The donor and recipient of Corneas remain anonymous and the donor’s family receives a certificate of appreciation from the eye bank for this noble donation

Okay, Lets cut to the chase without mincing phrases , this is my first time here. Yeah, I'm a Blog Virgin. There are a lot of people who cross your path and fuel your imagination and creativity. They propel you to conjure up bigger and better ideas. They are the ignition that trigger powerful concepts, grand plans and designs of immense proportions. Unfortunately no such person crossed my path yet. The only serious advice I got was from a friend who asked me to start blogging. I always wanted to thank facebook for reliving me from a dangerous "keep your thoughts" to yourself addiction. Since, those 420 character limit wasn't enough to complete my pointless ramblings here I'm blogging about how a total thoughtless Jerk I'm. So here I'm born into a vast, populated, in-fact over populated expanse of blogosphere. I'm hoping to enjoy everything thats gonna happen over here and I'm about to claim my distorted life, and reorient myself to being a Netaholic and drown my sorrows in coffee, tea, beer, blog posts and comments.Hola, I'm here!!
