Dogs Ink | Tattoo and Dog Photography

Its about that time of year again!

Where you can go outside, enjoy the warm weather and hang out with your pooch.

We are starting up the Dogs Ink project soon and we are now taking requests for shoots!

If you are unaware what Dogs Ink is, it’s our personal project we have been working on. The main intent is to showcase not only the dogs personality, but the personality of the owner and their relationship with their four legged companion.

We think it’s a pretty cool project!

The Monday Herd | Less

I’ll be honest. I had no idea what to write this morning.

In fact, I thought about skipping today’s blog post.

However, an amazing Mentor of mine sent me an article which turned into a little inspiration.

If you have been reading this blog for a while, a common theme of mine is minimalism. Only having what you need.

I love being a utilitarian, everything having a purpose with no extra ‘Stuff’.

I want to pass onto you the same article that I read this morning; trying to do a better job at paraphrasing such an important message to you would only be a disservice.

The one thing I challenge you to do is, before you get your tax refund, write down all the things you want to spend it on; including the line item ‘Save’.

Remember this isn’t just a ‘bonus’ check. This is money you’ve worked hard all year long for, this was already your money.

Now sit on that check for a while, at least a week, a month, perhaps several months. Now how relevant is that list?

All you need is less.

There ain’t nothing better than a surprise

It stemmed from a comment on my blog, to us meeting up for a little collaboration, then to a cross blog post and then to this!

Ms. Natalya Zahn has once again blown me away by her insane talent(and packaging skills which I failed to document because I was so damn excited about what was inside!).

Natalya did a bunch of drawings of Tech and then had them printed and sent to me, they are amazing. Literally amazing.

The below do not do them justice, but once they are framed hopefully I can capture them in all their glory.

I also got a few dog oriented recipes(yes, they are also hand drawn.) Double plus!

I love these two shots.

If you know Jake, these two images embody him in the fullest.

He doesn’t look when you call his name.

He gets nervous in front of the camera.

He likes his routine.

There isn’t much going on upstairs in Jake’s case, but Jake, he’s cool with it.

Jake is cool with being Jake.

Find your Jake, and be cool with it.

I would say every photographer is obsessed with control.

Whether it be control over your location, settings, lighting, or angle, we must be the deciding factor.

So it’s interesting when you give up all control, slap a GoPro on your head and just ski.

I got to spend the weekend with The Whitehead’s skiing up at Sugarbush and that’s exactly what happened.

No control and a whole lot of fun.
