Great Device and Good Value, 25 Aug 2012

First, the delivery was quick as promised.

I have had a few GPS’s in the past starting with a TomTom Go 300 (my first) then more recently a Garmin Nuvi 1450 and now this model. Setup was quick and easy, the downloading of both the Garmin software (maps and data) and also the desktop software was easy and hassle free. Registered the product without challenge after Windows 7 was easy to detect the device. (XP and Vista users may not have the same ease).

Tried it out today and it was seamless. Traffic info was live and fairly accurate, the road info (roadworks and speed cameras) was accurate and the re-routin was quick and efective. Really pleased with ths unit. Garmin have produced another cracker! a 5″ screen is great and the lifetime map updates are a bonus.

Had the for about 3 months now. This is my 4th Satnav, but the 1st Garmin. Excellent product, fast find of satellite, quick rerouting, voice command excellent safety feature. Used throughout UK and France, good maps and the speed camera data is very good. Anyone buying one should alos buy at least a 4gb micro sd card as the 1st maps updated needed a memory card.
It is well worth downloading the full product manual.

Garmi Nuvi 2595 LMT, 22 Aug 2012

This is my third Garmin, the first two were very good, this one however is excellent. It’s qualities are dealt with in great detail by other reviewers. I would however because of it’s extensive capabilities, recommend taking time to download the manual, reading it whilst familiarising yourself with the actual satnav.

Rather than update the maps (again)on my 5 year old Garmin,i decided to look for a new satnav.I had no big decision to make on brand as i was very happy with my old Nuvi310 which had all the whistle & bells (costing me over £400 at the time)A bit small for viewing in my new car (the windscreens are miles away..) I decided on a 5″screen so was very happy with my new Nuvi2595LMT which has lifetime updates on maps and free traffic updates too.It updated fine on my pc (win7) and i also got the £30.00 cash back deal,what more can i say,absolute bargain !! My only real gripe is the fact there is no security lock on the system,my old Garmin could only be accessed with a 4 pin code.

Great camera at a great price

This is a great little camera. It’s controls are very basic and easy to use and yes, it’s actually waterproof for this price! I have just returned from a holiday and used it in the pool, in the sea and for general snaps – I was very impressed with the results. There is a little shutter lag and a small zoom capacity, but the screen is a good size and the resulting pictures are fab. If you are looking for a basic point and shoot, with no gizmo’s this is for you, with the added bonus that you can use it IN the pool!
I didn’t expect much for this price but I was delighted.

Whether you like this camera or not will depend on your needs. Customers for a waterproof camera probably fall into 3 categories.
1) Those who need top quality photos and full control. You will be looking at buying a proper waterproof housing for your SLR and will not be reading reviews for a £68 bright yellow fixed focus Kodak!
2) Those wanting a waterproof camera, which will be their sole camera and also need to take good quality photos of landscape, macro etc…..I would NOT recommend this. Battery life too short, very little control over camera settings,images much too soft for decent landscapes especially at infinity (camera tries to compensate with quite marked in-camera sharpening), closest focus about 2-3 feet. A camera such as Canon Powershot D10 at about £230 would be worth considering.
3) Those who already have a camera they are happy with but want a fairly cheap camera as an extra to take on eg a canoeing trip with their mates, or down to the beach with their family and take well exposed fun pictures of people splashing about that are to be viewed on a computer screen (eg Facebook) or printed out to about 7×5 inch size. If you fall into this last category look no further as this Kodak is ideal. I have been surprised at how well exposed the images are,and the softness of the lens is fine for photos of people. Some of the negative reviews on the internet seem to be from people who thought they were getting a the specifications of a Leica. £68 is still a fair bit of money (though not for a camera) but it is sturdily built and should last for years, and if you are using it as a fun supplementary camera you won’t be needing to ‘update’ it the way you may wish with your main camera.
Easy as 123 !!!

Love love love my funky yellow camera, such a cool looking object at a great price and as easy as 123, hence the name kodak easyshare c123.I love the fact I can upload at 1 click to facebook and so do my girls, it is ideal for children as it is self explanatory.I too have not had chance to try the camera out underwater but found a clip of someone on you tube trying it out in a fish tank ! Pretty impressive stuff.I really just wanted an underwater camera that the kids can use in the pool whilst on holiday and did not want to pay too much and that is exactly what I have got !One drawback i could mention, if i was being picky, is the camera uses normal AA batteries (Which I would imagine would not last long, especially as I have a 8gb shdc card in it)However, I have bought a battery charger with rechargeable batteries therefore solving the problem.I would not hesitate to recommend Kodak easyshare C123 and I was even waiting for the item to be released prior to purchase and i am very pleased with this underwater beauty.Feel compelled to add to my review used on holiday underwater fab clear pics but you must remember to change the mode to H20 for underwater use but brilliant and fun.

A great TV for the money !, 6 Nov 2011

I just purchased this TV in October 2011 and really can’t fault it for the price that i paid. After ordering the TV it arrived 2 days later and the glass panel on the front was smashed badly, so it had to be returned.It was collected the following day and a replacement followed 2 days after and this was ok. After checking the contents i found that the wireless dongle was not there even though it says the dongle is included in the advert. I then contacted Amazon 4 times asking for them to send the dongle but they just said according to their product discription it was not included, but i could purchase it seperately for around £40 if i wanted it. I looked at the Toshiba product discription for the same TV and this also stated that the dongle was included so i contacted them and they were more than happy to send it to me free of charge. All in all a great product with lots of features which works with my Windows 7 laptop for steaming pictures and videos to the TV without all the wires.
A big thanks to Toshiba for great customer service, but thumbs down to Amazon for theirs.

Nice and Slim, 5 Nov 2011

This a really nice looking TV with a very good, sharp picture – the unit is very slim and looks good. The remote works well but is quite involved until you get used to it. Sound is not as good as a more expensive unit – but is more than adequate for me. I find it very good for displaying pictures via the USB input. So far, I have not been able to access any HD channels with this TV -notwithstanding its claim to be Freeview HD; however that may be more to do with my ancient ariel rather than the TV itself.

I’d had my old Triton shower for about 7 years,and when it started to play up I phoned Triton,(phone number inside the old shower casing), to ask for a replacement. I wanted as little hassle as possible in the change over, with pipes, and wiring etc. The person at Triton told me that the “Martinique” was the exact replacement for my now obsolete “Opal” They don’t actually sell showers direct to the public but the girl at Triton gave me the names of a few outlets for their goods.After looking at a few well known on-line outlets, I found that “Amazon” was about £30 cheaper than its nearest rival. I placed the order and it was delivered in two days. Fitted and in use in less than 45 mins. Great shower, and really pleased with Amazon…

Everything about this little phone works well. It’s light and secure to handle, good looking, tough, and packed with handy little features like a perfectly usable torch, a calendar with reminders, and quite enough different ring-tones and wallpapers. As long as you know what you’re getting, you really cannot fault this phone. It’s a no frills, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin mobile that’s super reliable and fit for it’s purpose.

No, it doesn’t have a camera, a HD touchscreen, dozens of apps that get rarely used, or even an internet browser. It’s a straight talking classic Nokia. If you literally want a phone to use as a phone, full stop, then this is the one to get. It’s small and lightweight, and has that famous Nokia quality solid build, so if you work on a building site or are even just a bit accident prone, it would be a real challenge to break it. The screen is incredibly tough (compared to most modern phones) so you’re not likely to have to ever spend anything on repairing this.

The battery life is fantastic, will easily last 4 days straight and the universal charger means that extra ones are dirt cheap and easy to get hold of. I used to have a very expensive smartphone and used this while I was contempating what new one to get, but i’ve since decided to keep it. It’s so quirky and anti-establishment that it’s almost cool, despite it’s severe lack of features! The thing that impresses me though is the features it does have are actually really useful, and suprisingly none of the modern phones these days have things so simple as a flashlight, or a radio. It would be a perfect phone if you work on site, as the lack of camera would deem it useable and the flashlight is perfect for nightime working, or an ideal phone for a child starting high school, a simple method of contact and a handy torch for those winter walks home.

Early probs but quickly sorted, 9 Aug 2011

Fantastic little gadget, still playing around with all the software but seems to do everything I need. There were a couple of early problems with connecting to the internet, but amazingly fast and accurate customer service from wendy lou sorted out the glitches and now its flying. Product does feel and look fairly cheap compared to more expensive models, but the computer part works very well and have quickly got used to the touchscreen. Thanks for yuor help Wendy Lou

I agree with all the positive reviews published before I bought this excellent value tablet. Mainly bought it for when we go off in our motorhome, for site booking, weather forecasts etc. Battery life a bit short when using the browser. Instruction book a bit sketchy , but downloaded Android instructions, and also bought a 16Gb mini sd card.

Pretty good value for money, 2 Aug 2011

When the product arrived, just two days after I had ordered it from Wendy Lou, I had great difficulty inserting the charger into my power socket and, on trying to remove it the plastic earth pin broke. I e-mailed Wendy Lou and was pleasantly surprised to get a reply straight away (it was on a Saturday) saying a more robust replacement would be sent; this duly arrived the following Tuesday. Having charged the tablet, I then didn’t really know what to do next; I didn’t find the instructions provided terribly helpful. I contacted Wendy Lou again, and they suggested a useful guide on the web. Armed with this, I am getting the hang of it now. Like many others I bought it mainly for internet and e-mails when I am on holiday; it seems to provide these pretty well.

All in all it seems a pretty good product for the price, but I’m sure I wouldn’t have been so happy without Wendy Lou’s support and help

I ordered this tablet so that I could check my emails, browse the internet, and download various games from the Android apps market. Having done some research I concluded that it was not worth spending a lot of money on a more expensive tablet, such as the Ipad2, just in case I ended up not using it much.

The delivery was a little slow, probably due to ordering on the weekend and getting it delivered to work (not open on weekend). Previously I had emailed Wendy Lou with a question, which she answered within a few hours. It was important to me to buy from someone who would provide any support I needed after purchase, and I felt from the reviews that Wendy Lou would give a good after sales service.

On first opening the box I accidentally turned the tablet on and could not figure out how to turn it off. Panic set in, and the manual did not give any clues. Just as I thought I would have to let the battery drain down, I found a button on the side. I must admit that on the first day I hated the tablet and wanted to send it back. However, I persevered, and I’m glad I did.

The manual is very small, and even with a magnifying glass, it is difficult to see the print. Also, the manual is clearly written by someone whose first language is not English, but it is reasonably easy to understand what is written. I could not see anywhere that explained what the buttons do. The button on the front is a ‘back’ button, and not used to turn the tablet on (this is on the left hand side).

Good points
Great value for money.
Works with wireless mode ‘N’ router and with the recommended wifi security WPA/WPA2.
Good size for playing games.
Works fine for me without the enclosed stylus.
Great selection of apps from the Android Market. They only take about 10 seconds to download.

Bad points
The battery life is only 2-3 hours.
The adapter cable is quite short and the connection is a bit hit and miss unless the tablet is stationary, so I cannot continue to use with the adapter plugged in. To be honest I don’t use it more that 2 hours at a time so this is not too much of an issue for me.
The screen is a little unresponsive but it is a budget tablet, and will not be as good as a more expensive screen.
I did not find the internet very quick, but maybe this is my Wifi.
Inadequate manual.

I’ve had the tablet a few weeks, and have gone from hating the tablet (because I could not figure out how to use it) to really enjoying it. There are numerous forums that give extra information, and I am learning more each day.

All in all, I recommend this tablet for anyone looking for a budget tablet, but as other people have said, it is not an Ipad2!

The nüvi 1340 has a clear, intuitive menu so you can just turn it on and go. You simply need to touch the screen to look up addresses and get turn-by-turn directions. It announces street names before you turn so you always know where you are going, for example, “Turn right at Dell Road”.

Lane Assist helps you get into the correct lane in plenty of time which is particularly useful near busy junctions. It illustrates up to nine lanes in the top left-hand corner of the main map screen, with the distance to the exit and which lanes to take.

Great on the go – driving, walking or on public transport

The fact that nüvi 1340 is only 15mm thick means you can take it anywhere. Use to its full potential by downloading cityXplorer™ via www.Garmin.co.uk/cityXplorer to navigate like a local. The enhanced pedestrian mode gives you directions for walking including footpaths and shortcuts through parks – places you wouldn’t be accessing while in your car. It also tells you where to catch trains, buses and tubes (dependent on the city), and how long it will take to reach your destination. cityXplorer even has public transport timetables to ensure you arrive at the station on time and help avoid long waits (dependent on the city).

To make the most of your Garmin sat-nav when exploring a new city, whether on a day trip, a holiday or for business, you can also add an optional AA City Guide. It tells you everything you need to know about your chosen city from attractions and places to eat, hotels and shops.

Speed cameras

Garmin has a unique, pan-European speed camera warning system, giving real-time, reliable, and accurate alerts. nüvi 1340 has the location of fixed, average speed, mobile and temporary cameras already built in. New or moved cameras are constantly tracked and the database is updated daily.

Go Green and save fuel

The ecoRoute™ fuel-saver feature enables you to choose a fuel-efficient route which could save you fuel and money. Simply choose the “less fuel” option and nüvi 1340 will calculate the route which will use the least fuel. You can also see the estimated cost of your journey as you plan it and get scored for your driving performance with the Driving Challenge – good for identifying areas for improvement.

Where am I? safety feature

The Where am I? safety feature can be very helpful if you break down or need a certain service urgently. Just tap the car icon on your map screen for your exact coordinates, contact details for vehicle recovery services and directions to hospitals, police and petrol stations.

Anti-Theft feature

You can choose to activate The Garmin Lock™ anti-theft protection system to disable your Garmin sat-nav from performing any functions until a specific 4-digit PIN is typed in or the unit is taken to a predetermined location. Simply enter a 4-digit PIN and select a Security Location.  Write down your PIN and keep it in a safe place.  Each time you turn on the GPS, enter your PIN to unlock the GPS.  If you forget your PIN, you can go to your Security Location. Note: If you forget your PIN, and your Security Location, Garmin cannot unlock your GPS over the phone; you must send your GPS to Garmin to get it unlocked.

There are lots of extras you can add to your Garmin sat-nav. These include travel guides such as AA Days Out, The Good Pub Guide, historical audio tours and more. This sat nav is great and got me to my destination perfect without any wrong turns. It has the following features:

Distance to destination, time of arrival to destination, all road speed limits, speed camera warning, plenty of notice before any turns and re-calculates a new route when turned incorrectly.

Does exactley what it claims to do, would recommend!

Hi

I am a new driver and have recently moved into the countryside in Lincoln and am used to been more of a city boy in Sheffield so I’m still abit lost out here and now I have my car and can drive I still felt abit nervous about finding my way back to Sheffield and other places so I decided to get this Garmin Nuuvi 1340 because my brother has one and it took us all the way round France and didn’t let us down once.

I am familiar with all its settings now and infact it was very very easy to set up and learn how to use, within 30 min of getting it in the post from Amazon I went for a drive in the country with it set to take me to a pub I heard was pretty nice ( I only drunk coke Oviously ) and it was amazing.

I have the settings set to – Fastest Route which I thought made sense. I love the default Voice on the Garmin the most. It is very very fast and can find you a ATM, KFC, Hospital, Fuel station, you name it it can find it no matter where you are and it will tell you exactly how long it will take.

My only Complaint is that the instruction’s that came with the device were not detailed enough but to be honest I advice you just play around with it until you are happy you know how to use it.

Overall – Easy to use, Very Fast, Nice design, Good Resolution, Nice Voice and a must have item for any driver at any age

I use this product while conducting driving lessons and it’s great.
Either enter the postcode or street and off you go straight to the address. Great for alerting of speed camera sites and letting you know of the speed limit for the road you’re on. (really useful if visiting somewhere new).
Only negative for me is I recently used it while driving a lorry and some of the roads it took me on were very tight to say the least.

i have had this system for about 8 months now i have updated it twice the sound is top class.i got a pair of 3d glasses today to see what the reproduction was like i have just watched sanctum 3d the reproduction was astounding not at all like using the old style glasses quite comfortable too the system is enormous in sound and picture 5 star product.welldone sony

This is absolutely amazing. set up easy. The microphone that comes with is a nice addition. I have it connected to a Sony kdl 40w02000. The sound is just right. Low,middle and high tones are just right. bass output is booming. lower it by 2db and its just right. The sound does vary with different movies. The best blue ray for sound has got to be Iron man 2, this Blue ray really demonstrates the sheer power of the unit. The best picture and surroud sound from unit Toy Story and Megamind.

This is thee unit to own.
Cheap,easy and its got some power behind it.
Grab one while there still around.

This represents great value for money and has more than enough power for a good sized room, without using full volume. Two thirds volume give you great sound and the picture quality is superb. You have more settings than you will need with a large saving on the price. I pleased I made this purchase.

After recieving this item very quickly (excelent delivery) I set it up without a problem to start with but after 4 days it went into power save mode, had to reset it several times untill it would not work at all. I then returned it back to Amazon using there returns page again very easy to do, they sent me a replacment within two working day’s again brillant, this one has had no problems as yet. I am very pleased with the sound and blue ray. Even though I had some problems with the first one I would recomend this product.
