The other day I released the newest Consciousness Playground recording The Art of Giving Up Control.    In my experience, one of the main sources of struggle in life comes from attempting to micromanage the future.    And I mean… what’s about to happen in the very next moment.

If you want your life to include more and more evidence that the Universe has your back, the key is to develop the moment-by-moment habit of giving over control of what happens next.  

On the recording (and its transcript available here), I outlined the 3 reasons we cling to control.   And I guided you to see a particular area of your life is impacted by each of those 3 reasons.   But most importantly, I guided you to let go of control in that area of your life.

Probably for the first time ever.

Today, as your Consciousness Playground Tip of the Day, I invite you to step into a more permanent, joyful state of co-creation with the Universe than you’ve ever experienced yet.

I invite to become consciously aware – at least 5 times today – of where and how you are trying to control what’s about to happen next.      I’m talking not just the big things in life, but the small things!

For example, pay close attention to things like this:

* am I trying to control where this conversation goes next?

* am I trying to control what he/she thinks right now?

* am I trying to control how I feel in this moment?

* am I trying to control what he/she does next?

* am I trying to control how ‘X’ turns out?

* am I trying to control whether that car cuts me off?   What the radio station is broadcasting?  Who wins?   And so on…

Write them down, if it helps you remember to do this.    Its so worth it.

By noticing how unconscious the habit of trying to control what happens next is, you’ll likely be stunned to notice how much energy it takes to sustain that effort.

And you’ll discover there’s a wayyyyy easier and more joyful way to be.  Moment by moment.

Seriously! I’ve been practicing ‘letting go’ of the big things for years, and yet amazed myself recently by noticing how different life became when I practiced letting go of the very next event many, many times throughout the day.   

So that’s your Tip of the Day.   Stop at least 5 times today to observe when you are trying to control what happens next.   Oh, and if you want my help to stop pouring all that energy into trying to control so many moments, be sure to listen to the “Art of Giving Up Control” recording!)

If you’ve been on the planet awhile, you’ve no doubt encountered the notion of surrendering or ‘letting go’ in life – also known as going with the flow, dropping into the heartspace and letting go and let God. Its possible you learned about giving up control the hard way by having desperately struggled to deal with events you’ve been unable to either accept or change.

Surrendering control is actually our statement to the universe that we’ve tried everything on our own and are now open to a miracle.  But as wise, necessary or desirable as it may be to ‘let go’, ‘drop into your heart’ or surrender, most of us still struggle with actually doing it!

Today’s Consciousness Playground recording is called, ‘The Art of Giving Up Control’ and on it, you’ll discover the 3 most common reasons we struggle with letting go. More importantly, though, you’ll actually practice by working with a particular situation in your life that you really want to experience differently but have been stuck in, perhaps for years.

You’ll become intimately familiar with the part of your ‘inner landscape’ that’s been struggling to control this situation and you’ll shift to a brand new ‘state of being’ that is free of control.

14 years ago, I was a nurse lecturing at a well-respected university.   Today, I spend my days saying odd things like, “Here’s how to lift a ceiling with your mind!”

In this, today’s Consciousness Playground Tip of the Day, I share evidence that suggest viewpoints like mine are not a descent into insanity, but instead a leap forward into an amazingly bright future for you and I.

For comparison, not long ago, the suggestion that hand washing would improve health by removing tiny, invisible organisms was considered laughable.  That is, until the field of microbiology became an accepted science.

Today we’re on the brink of an even larger leap of scientific understanding, as we incorporate the most mind-bending of sciences, quantum physics, into our regular lives and medical practices.

Quantum physics is the most personal of sciences because it suggests an unbreakable link between your minds, feelings, intentions and your physical world.

This understanding is about to unleash the greatest transformation in health, well-being and personal power we’ve ever seen.

In today’s Tip of the Day, I invite you to take a peek at an astonishing blog written by one of my nursing colleagues, Bob.

Bob is a nurse working in a conventional hospital in Albequerque, New Mexico.   Between patients, an endless stream of Bob’s medical colleagues approach him to treat their ills using means not explained by their medical backgrounds.

Bob’s blog recounts jaw-dropping success after success as he ‘plays’ using principles of quantum physics.  (By the way, Bob doesn’t use his full name on his blog, for reasons I completely understand…)

Hello Consciousness Pioneers,

Last week, I released the newest Consciousness Playground recording for you to experiment with.  It was entitled, ‘Feel for the Space Within It”

Today, I’m writing with a quick way to apply the theme of that recording to transform a long-standing situation in your life right now.

In the ‘Feel For the Space Within It’ recording, I guided you to choose a specific situation in your life that you wanted to experience from the transformative ‘quantum’ perspective.

Later, I invited you to notice  how your experience of that situation has changed (already!) by having taken part in that exercise.   (You can see what others reported by reading their comments here.)

Today, in this Consciousness Playground Tip of the Day (formerly called your “Friday Followup”) I’m offering a specific new way to focus on something important you want more of and ‘feel for the space within it’ to see what changes immediately.   Just follow along…

As background, you already know that one of the most common of human inner experiences is that of wanting more.

More love, more time, more money, more recognition.  More ‘fill in the blank’.

And even when we get more of one thing, the hunger itself quickly transfers to yearning for more of something else.

For many, the driving hunger for more is the single most compelling force in daily life, fueling actions and decisions in the blind quest to fill an empty spot inside.

We’ll work too much, shop too much, eat too much, push too much.

If you’re human, its possible you’ve never experienced a conscious moment of life free from the background feeling that some part of you or your life is not full yet.      Until now, perhaps…

To use the transformative power of your quantum nature to forever alter that deep feeling of not being full, or ‘enough’, its very straightforward and only takes moments!

First identify something that you want more of right now.

More affection, more health, more self-confidence, more friends, more security, more joy, whatever.

Next, write down these words that capture the essence of that yearning:

“I’m not full yet.”  

Next, turn your attention inward to directly sense what it feels like to not feel full.    Feel this uncomfortable sensation more directly than you ever have before.    And stay there.   Not thinking about it.  Not looking for ideas of how to fill it.   Not escaping from it.

Be interested and curious about it.  Is it  like a ‘begging’?    Is it like a longing?   Is it like a wordless cry that normally drives you to act, to think, to make something happen so you won’t have to feel the uncomfortable sensation of not being full?

Whatever the sensation is, notice that its not bigger than you – you’re bigger than it.

Next, like I guided you to do on the “Feel For the Space Within It” recording, shift your attention from the feeling itself to the space within, around and between that sensation.     

Notice the relief that starts to appear quickly as you feel for the space within and between the uncomfortable, unfulfilled feeling of ‘I’m not full yet’.

As you pull your attention away from the ‘form’ of that feeling and feel for the space within it, you’ll notice it start to magically soften.   Lessen.   Change.

As you continue to feel for the space within the feeling of “I’m not full yet”, you are directly accessing the transformative power of your quantum nature.    And if you stay with it long enough, you’ll notice that the ‘I’m not full yet’ sensation will have completely transformed into something new.

(But what?)

Good morning, Pioneers!  (And a special warm welcome to the hundreds of new members who joined the Consciousness Playground this week.  May this be a place you continually discover more of the magic you are!)

On the first 3 Fridays of each month, I write what I call a ‘Friday Followup’ for Consciousness Playground members like yourself.   These Friday Followups always offer a quick tip on how to apply our latest exploration in consciousness to your life right away.

I write Friday Followups because transformation doesn’t occur by understanding new ideas, but by applying them.  And this here Consciousness Playground is all about getting results by applying astounding new concepts from physics and metaphysics in our daily lives.

A few days ago, I released the most recent Consciousness Playground recording called, “Feel for the Space Within It.” (Click here to find that recording or to read the full transcript.)   In that recording I invited you to choose a scenario in your life (a problem or concern, say) and be guided by me to experiment with it.   I guided you to become aware of the feelings/sensations within your body that arose as you focussed on that scenario.  Then I asked you to deliberately feel  for the space within those feelings and within that scenario.

I had you do this for reasons I want to explain more fully now.

Astonishing new scientific theories are emerging that suggest our human bodies are something waaaaay different and more powerful that we’ve ever conceived.    Award-winning physicist, Nassim Haramein, for example, has mathematically demonstrated that each cell in your body is a black hole/white hole of creation – a conduit between the infinitely small and the infinitely large.    (A black hole, as you may know, absorbs all matter and energy while a white hole explodes energy into creation.)

We usually think of black holes as existing in outer space, but what if they also exist right within your body too?  Even now, as you read this?  

If they do, your body is the most powerful source of energy transformation in the cosmos.   (Whaaa….?)

And, best of all, you don’t have to wonder, you can test this concept out personally.

Which is exactly what the recording “Feel for the Space Within It” allowed you to do.

When you accessed the feelings (energy) regarding the scenario you chose to work with, from Haramein’s theory, you essentially dropped that energy into the trillions of ‘black holes’ within you.    Since black holes absorb energy you can now go back and check if that energy is different, or gone!

Do this now:  When you think of that scenario today, do you notice less energy/ feeling related to it?    Feel carefully… What’s different?  What’s absent?

To take the theory one step further, if each cell in your body is both a black hole (of absorption) and a white hole (of creation), then having dropped the energy of that scenario into your inner space should reveal that the old ‘feeling’ energy of it is gone… and has been converted into energy in a new form.   The black holes within convert the energy you consciously drop into the space within and blast it back out into your universe as new creations.    This is the physics of how a change within yields a change without – an observable change in the physical world.

Consciousness Playground member Linda D. observed this connection in a comment she left on the ‘Feel for the Space Within It’ recording page.   (Read Linda’s comment here about having neutralizing a feeling about trash outside her workplace then observing workmen come clean it up!)

In the past, a person would have been considered delusional or grandiose to believe they could directly influence the physical world with their thoughts and feelings.  But today, such a person might instead be called highly aware.  (That’s you, Linda D!)

Because we have emerging science explaining how this is true.    And in the ‘Feel for the Space Within It’ recording, you have a tool to directly test this out for yourself.

So, what did you notice happened, what changed, what disappeared, what a-ppeared, when you felt for the space within the scenario you brought to the recording?

Each year, in January I choose a one-word theme for my life and business.  This year, my word for 2012 is ‘Give’.  (See, left, the post-it note I keep on my laptop to remind me of this theme.)

As I thought about what it would really mean to wrap my year around giving, I decided to make as bold a commitment to this theme as I could think of.

I decided that rather than charging the $57/month that a Consciousness Playground membership has cost until now, I would give the Consciousness Playground to anyone who wanted it for free.

Here is the notice I sent out to existing members shortly after I made that decision and at the end, an explanation of why I’m announcing this now:

“Dear fellow pioneers,

In the spirit of my personal theme for 2012 (give), I’ve gulped, taken a big breath, and decided to stop your recurring payments for being a CP member.

I’ve now made your membership in the CP free.

Over the past days, I’ve gone into each member’s billing account and, one by one, stopped your billing.   That means you will not be billed anymore for your monthly membership here.   Your last payment has already gone through and there won’t be any more.

On my end, this represents a voluntary closure of about 75% of my income.     About $90,000 per year.   

No one is asking me to do this.  And I’ve greatly enjoyed and appreciated that income.

So what’s behind it and why am I doing this?

The answer is simple.    Its time.  

I don’t know how or when that income will be replaced, but I know from experience that I always need to close a door before the next opens.    I love the unknown, I love the adventure and I love the risk.   I also don’t mind making mistakes.

And I trust myself.

As I adjust to the stillness of this decision and wait to see what’s next, I’ve also decided to temporarily close the doors of the CP to new members.   So its just you and me, baby, for now.

In a short while, I’ll open the CP to new members again.   For free.”
