Rogue Government! Democrat Runaway – Fatal Attraction.

Obama: “We just want an up or down vote”. He lies. Despite a multi-state blitz resembling his 2008 campaign tour the President’s message has fallen flat, despite picked audiences of SEIU goons, medical pity cases, little kids, and a security guard service to ensure that no real American Patriots would be able to infiltrate Obama’s fifth column performance. Judging by polling results, the general perception of the public to the demands put forth by Obama have shown them to be decidedly underwhelmed, leaving our transformational Marxist looking like the blush is off of his rose.

Meanwhile, back at the farm, Madame Pelosi’s parade isn’t looking that much better either. We keep hearing her say ‘we have the votes, we have the votes’, reminiscent of Chicken Little and “the sky is falling, the sky is falling”, even as the Democrats descend farther and farther into more desperate schemes for passage of one of the most thoroughly hated pieces of legislation in US history.

Louise Slaughter

The House Madame may be courting what’s called the Slaughter solution, an extra-constitutional scheme to actually try to cram the Senate version of Obama-care through the House, without actually having a recorded vote on the bill. The Slaughter solution is named after Louise Slaughter (D) NY, the House Rules Chairwoman. In this scheme the House ‘deems’ the Senate version of Obama care to have been passed by the House. House members would still have to vote on whether to pass the rule but would then be able to say that they only voted for the rule, not the bill itself. read more »

Senate Parliamentarian gums up the Dems reconciliation strategy

The Senate Parliamentarian has ruled that President Barack Obama must sign Congress’ original health care reform bill before the Senate can act on a companion reconciliation package, senior GOP sources said Thursday.

The Senate Parliamentarian’s Office was responding to questions posed by the Republican leadership. The answers were provided verbally, sources said.

House Democratic leaders have been searching for a way to ensure that any move they make to approve the Senate-passed $871 billion health care reform bill is followed by Senate action on a reconciliation package of adjustments to the original bill. One idea is to have the House and Senate act on reconciliation prior to House action on the Senate’s original health care bill.

Information Republicans say they have received from the Senate Parliamentarian’s Office eliminates that option. House Democratic leaders last week began looking at crafting a legislative rule that would allow the House to approve the Senate health care bill, but not forward it to Obama for his signature until the Senate clears the reconciliation package.

Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) moved Thursday to put Senate Republicans on the defensive over health care, sending a letter to Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in which he dared the GOP to vote against reform.

Reid also defended the Democrats’ use of reconciliation to get a final health care reform bill to the president’s desk, noting that the bulk of health care reform was approved under regular order via the package that cleared the Senate on Christmas Eve. Reid also emphasized that Republicans have used the procedure several times over the years. ... read more »

Speak out on ObamaCare ASAP (final vote likely within a week)

This is it. The moment of truth in the US House...and what is probably our last, best chance to stop the liberal,big-government takeover of our health care system.

The House will be voting soon on whether or not to pass the Senate version of "ObamaCare", and we have to stop it.

Right now, liberals from the White House and the Democrat leadership are meeting behind closed doors trying to create a "compromise" package that will give Democrats in the House enough cover to vote for the bill...promising them that the Senate will enact these changes AFTER they approve the current Senate bill.

In other words, they're saying "trust us".

Tell them "NO". Let them know that the American people do NOT want this bill - and that we do NOT trust them withour health care. read more »

Beijing vows not to use U.S. debt for political gain (fingers crossed)

A top Chinese official said Tuesday that Beijing will not use its vast holdings of U.S. government debt for political gain, just a few days after a forecast projected that the U.S. national debt is on course to triple to $20 trillion over the next decade.

China holds the world's largest cache of foreign exchange reserves, which soared more than $450 billion last year to reach $2.4 trillion at year's end. Concerns about Beijing's plans for its holdings have peaked in recent weeks after Chinese military officials suggested using that debt to pressure the United States in other policy areas.

But a top Chinese state financial officer Tuesday rejected that approach.

"The U.S. Treasury market is the world's largest government bond market," said Yi Gang, the head of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. "Our foreign exchange reserves are huge, so you can imagine that the U.S. Treasury market is important to us," he said during the annual session of China's parliament.

Mr. Yi emphasized his hope that China's investment in U.S. Treasury securities would not become a political football.

"This is purely market-driven investment behavior. I would hope not to see this matter politicized," he said in response to a question about American concerns that Beijing's holdings of U.S. debt posed a political threat. "China is a responsible investor, and we fully believe such investments can be mutually beneficial."

Mr. Yi expressed those views one month after a senior military official in the People's Liberation Army recommended using economic measures to retaliate against a $6 billion arms package that the United States agreed to sell to Taiwan. ... read more »

O’Biden: ‘Oh Boss, Israel Won’t Play. They’ve Seen This Rodeo Before’.

Vice Emperor Biden’s sidewalk act isn’t playing well in places like Tel Aviv, Beersheba, Haifa, or Jerusalem. The administration’s choice for ‘putting those Jews in their place’ is no intellectual giant in the first place, as he has proven on innumerable occasions both at home and abroad. In this he’s much like his boss, the would-be once and future king. Too bad the President hasn’t figured out that the American people don’t cotton much to kings, dictators or wannabes. Much to ‘Jumpin’ Joe Biden’s discomfiture, the Israelis have this one down pat also.

Joe Biden and President Shimon Peres

Joe is so dense that he went to Israel planning on tapping in to the autumn of Israeli discontent, in the form of the completely discredited and now powerless liberals, who have been the loudest proponents of an appeasement policy towards the very ‘Palestinian’ terrorists who would gleefully see to the annihilation of every man, woman and child in the State of Israel.

These same ‘appeaseniks’ are the ones who would trade away much of Israel’s strategic security in fanciful ‘land-for-peace’ deals. Shamefully, many of these bogus ’security’ deals have been fostered by a United States desperate to show some sort of moral high ground at the expense of the Israeli people through several administrations. This points to a sadly deficient State Department which has been proven to be not only anti-American, but anti-semitic as well. read more »

Obama Advocates Domestic Violence

Speaking to the perceived inequalities between the sexes in regards to domestic labor, President Obama said in an NBC interview that he thought men "need to be knocked across the head every once in a while."

Many would brush the comments aside as the Chief Executive's attempt at humor. However, as the nation has learned as of result of Rush Limbaugh's failure to acquire a stake in the ownership of the Rams, some thought are so vile that they cannot be enunciated according to the NFL officials that denied the famed broadcaster this economic opportunity.

What if Obama had said every once in a while women need to be knocked across the head to be reminded of just how good they have it in this county? Given that Michelle had never felt pride in America until this past election cycle, it seems this is a lesson he has failed to get across to his little woman.

Radical feminists will respond that domestic violence against women is something its victims are so ashamed of that it can never be mentioned in a jocular manner.

Than isn’t it even more so when the victims are men? For the last time I checked, there were not entire cable networks and television programming blocks dedicated to stories of the struggles of battered men or entire charities established supposedly to address the needs of battered men which quietly toss their daughters into the streets for having reached an arbitrary age still well below the age of majority and irrespective of whether or not these youngsters are capable of providing for themselves.

It’s doubtful that Michelle Obama has done much housework her entire married life. For even though the First Lady has feigned an interest in puttering around in the dirt with vegetables, she probably didn’t do much with the bounty beyond the initial photo-op. For you see, the Obama’s brought their private chef with them to the White House, indicating Michelle has been neglecting this wifely and motherly obligation for quite some time.

From the way Barack framed the issue, Michelle does not really enjoy being a mother all that much. The Benevolent Father (a title applied to Ming the Merciless on the SciFi channel’s adaptation of Flash Gordon and now just as applicable to the President of the United States since he thinks he is qualified to speak on how to run our families when he can’t even keep the country on track) said in the interview, “Michelle was trying to figure out, OK, if the kids get sick why is it that she’s the one who has to take time off of her job to pick them up from school as opposed to me? If...the girls need to shop for clothes...why is it her burden and not mine?”

Well because, as to the clothes bit, if Barack (or any other man for that matter) brought the wrong thing home, it is going to be his rear that is going to get chewed out. As to the more serious matter of a sick child, even though it is an individual family matter to work out, if Michelle Obama is going to cop such an attitude about the matter, perhaps she should have not gotten married or had children.

If this is how the First Lady feels about things, perhaps the Obama's are not the ideal parents the media makes them out to be to which the rest of us fail to measure up to. For parents (especially mothers) that really do put their children above everything else don't go around complaining about it when called upon to perform the most basic parental functions. So instead of lecturing the rest of us about the glories of mandatory voluntarism, perhaps someone ought to giver her an earful about how parents truly dedicated to their children don't go around complaining about those times when their children really do need them.

Often when certain people feel guilty about something from their past or that of their family, they become fanatic to the other extreme and make it their mission to ferret out less significant shortcomings in those around them. The world is going to Hades in a handbasket, yet Obama thinks one of the pressing concerns needing to be addressed is the occasional absentmindedness of fathers who otherwise provide and care for their families.

Obama told NBC, "There's no doubt that our family, like a lot of families out there, were ones in which the men are still a little obtuse about this stuff." That is putting it mildly and frankly an insult to American fathers if they are to be judged by what passed as male parenting in the Obama family. And frankly, the way Barack's mother went pining after Third World deadbeats and abandoned her son to pursue anthropological studies in the area of Indonesian blacksmithing, according to Jerome Corsi, she's hardly a role model worthy of praise or emulation either.

Obama praised his father up one end and down the other in his Inaugural address. In his memoir “Dreams Of My Father”, Obama attempts to excuse his father’s behavior.

What is it exactly that Barack’s pappy is suppose to have done? For starters, when he married Obama’s mother, he had another wife in Kenya he conveniently failed to mention.

As shameful as that is, I Timothy 5:18 teaches that the person that doesn’t take care of their family is worse than an infidel. And it seems Pappy Obama refused to take advantage of the fresh starts America is renowned for and that draw people here from around the world. Obama’s father eventually essentially abandoned young Barack as well.

Pappy Obama just wasn’t a sappy provider and nurturer. Barack’s half-brother Mark Okoth Obama Ndesandjo in the book "Nairobi To Shenzen" contends that their father was actually a wife beater.

No family is perfect. Both parents (that includes mothers as well fathers) often fail to live up to the perfect ideal. However, short of profound negligence, it is not really the place of the federal government in the personage of its highest official to comment in an almost ex-cathedra fashion as to what goes on in our homes as to household banalities such as the division of domestic labor.

by Frederick Meekins

Railroading Toyota

According to the L.A. Times, federal officials report that there were 34 deaths in the past decade from Toyota vehicles suddenly and unintentionally accelerating.

Then again, federal officials also report that there were 34 deaths from people not having health insurance while you were reading the last sentence.

A sensationalistic crash that killed four occupants of a Lexus last year in San Diego resulted in nationwide media exposure regarding supposed Toyota design flaws. Toyota investigated and found that the car’s floor mat had become stuck to the accelerator, preventing it from operating properly. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration backed up Toyota: as outlined in the inspection report, “The right clip was installed into the grommet of the carpeting but not installed into the mat. The left clip was… not clipped to either the carpet or the rubber mat… [T]he bottom edge of the accelerator pedal had melted to the upper right corner of the mat… [W]hile it was a Lexus brand mat, it was not the correct application for the vehicle.”

Nonetheless, the incident led to an accumulation of complaints about Toyota and high-profile recalls for problems ranging from Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) to brake problems to faulty steering. The federal government butted in by holding hearings last month in which they grilled Toyota executives about alleged glitches in their vehicles’ electronic throttles; they also demanded to know when Japanese execs would commit hara-kiri to atone for their sins.

As the Times noted, virtually all of the accident-related deaths reported this year took place before 2010, some as far back as 20 years. In other words, motorists are jumping on the bandwagon, contributing horror stories to a ravenous media, and helping perpetuate an urban legend. Or, as one agency spokeswoman diplomatically noted, “It is normal for NHTSA to receive an increase in consumer complaints after a recall is announced and the public learns of a safety defect.” read more »

Just how stupid is the NRSC??

Just when you begin to sorta' feel good about how things are going for Republicans, thanks largely to Barack Obama and the Democrat leadership, you seem them do the kind of things you expect from people who really just don't want to win.

For example, take the NRSC (please!) and its continued fundraising for Charlie Crist, who (as we pointed out) is getting "waxed" by Marc Rubio in the Florida Senate primary by 32 points in the latest poll.

The National Republican Senatorial Campaign won't be spending money in the Florida Senate primary between Gov. Charlie Crist and former House speaker Marco Rubio, but they sure are helping Crist raise massive amounts of cash. ...

According to a list of fundraisers sent out by the NRSC and obtained by TPMDC, there are 8 big-dollar Crist fundraisers being held over the next two weeks. There are seven in Florida, two in one day on Saturday. Crist also will join Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and Gov. Sonny Perdue (R-GA) for a fundraiser in Atlanta on Monday.

I understand that the NRSC has a job to do, that being to recruit candidates and help them win US Senate seats. Fine. And I also understand that there will be times that someone there will screw up and recruit the wrong candidate, although this seems to happen waaayyy to often to just be a screw up, but I digress. But it's another thing entirely to continue to waste the party's money...and encourage GOP donors to waste even more money...supporting someone that Republicans in that state have CLEARLY indicated that they don't want. read more »

'Tea party' favorite set for rematch in N.Y.

Last year's underdog became this year's front-runner Tuesday when Doug Hoffman - whose 2009 congressional race became a rallying cry for the "tea party" movement - announced he would seek the Republican nomination in New York's 23rd District.

Mr. Hoffman's Conservative Party campaign last fall in the upstate district ignited grass-roots supporters, but fell 4,000 votes short of an upset victory in the three-way special election won by Bill Owens, who became the first Democrat to represent the district in decades.

"I'm just an average citizen, standing up to say, 'We're fed up. We're not going to take this any more,' " Mr. Hoffman told The Washington Times in a telephone interview Tuesday. "I don't think anybody should expect to inherit political office ... . I'm going to work very hard to earn the respect and support of all the voters in the district."

An accountant from Saranac Lake, Mr. Hoffman became the first Republican to officially declare his candidacy in the largely rural 23rd Congressional District, which sprawls across upstate New York from Lake Ontario on the west to the Vermont border on the east. ...

Pelosi’s Diaspora…The Scattering – Deadline May Be Dead.

I mentioned growing up on a small ranch. As a child I was able to observe the habits of our animals at length. One of the things that fascinated me was watching the sitting hens (a sitting hen was one who was broody and was allowed to hatch chicks) parade their chicks out into the chicken yard for the first time. The chicks would respond to the mother hen’s incessant clucking, keeping in tight order behind her and ready to flee to safety under her at the first hint of danger.

Nancy Pelosi has been having her own problems keeping her chicks in line as a fractious membership repeatedly attempts to bolt from the nest. Any reference to the Speaker as an old hen is coincidental.

There is a story out there saying Pelosi is losing her grip, with a picture of a frantic looking Nancy holding up a claw-like hand a la The Wicked Witch Of The West, sans purple skin color. That’s sort of how the whole thing is playing out for the House Madame and the Democrat House right now.

House members are bolting for good reason. With unremitting pressure from their leadership and the White House on one hand and the growing anger of the country on the other, it’s a thankless position to start with. What is becoming apparent is that despite the calls from the leadership and the proclamations from the White House to sacrifice careers, at this point the votes just aren’t there. read more »

WOW: Rubio up over Crist by 32 points

Talk about hand-writing on the wall.

In what can be termed as nothing less than "big", the latest poll of the Republican candidates in the Florida Senate primary has House Speaker Marco Rubio ahead of incumben Governor Charlie Crist by 32 points.

Via Public Policy Polling:

Rubio now leads Crist 60-28, including a staggering 71-17 lead with conservatives. Crist has a 49-36 advantage with party moderates, but they account for just 31% of likely primary voters compared to 65% who describe themselves as conservative.

Rubio is benefiting from a widely held sentiment among Florida GOP voters that Congressional Republicans are too liberal and that Crist would add to the problem. 41% of them think that the party leadership in Washington is too liberal, and with those folks Rubio holds an 83-10 lead. 50% think that Crist himself is too liberal and with those voters Rubio’s advantage expands even wider to 90-5.

Wow. And, believe it or not, it gets worse for Crist.

It also looks like it’s too late for Crist to audible and make another run for Governor. GOP voters say they’d prefer likely nominee Bill McCollum over Crist by a 49-35 margin. In fact Republicans generally just want Crist to go away- 56% say they’d like him out of office a year from now to 19% who’d like to see him continue as Governor and only 14% who want him in the Senate. read more »

Thomas Jefferson’s Other Declaration

Most Americans know that Thomas Jefferson was the principal author of “The Declaration of Independence”, the most important of all our founding documents.

Yet few of them have even heard of another document that I would say might be the second most important declaration he ever wrote: The Kentucky Resolutions of 1798. He drafted them secretly while he was serving as vice president. It was written in response to the hated Alien and Sedition Acts which were passed under the Adams administration during an undeclared war with France.

The acts authorized the president to deport any resident alien considered dangerous to the peace and safety of the United States, to apprehend and deport resident aliens if their home countries were at war with the United States, and criminalized any speech which might defame Congress, the President, or bring either of them into contempt or disrepute. You could compare it to the Patriot Act, but really it was much worse. Either way, The Alien and Sedition Acts were probably Thomas Jefferson’s worst nightmare.

Some people are surprised to learn that in response to these acts, Jefferson did not hold up the First Amendment in protest. Rather he invoked the Tenth Amendment, which states that:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” read more »

Lindsey Gr-Amnesty, RINO Extraordinaire.

I wish someone would tell me why this character should have a single Republican member of Congress listen to him, much less be influenced by a single word emanating from his smarmy mouth. In his latest essay in treacherous gum beating he’s let it be known that he’ll play deal maker on Guantanamo Bay.

Lindsey Graham

On Sunday, this cretin actually had the chutzpah to tell the White House that he would work to convince Republicans to ‘go along with closing Guantanamo Bay’, if the President reverses his intention of trying high-profile terrorists on continental U.S. soil.

Graham, ever anxious to ingratiate himself with the administration and bolster his RINO credentials, came in a little late on this one though, since public rage over the proposed trials has all but forced Obama to go back to Guantanamo and military tribunals… aside from the fact that in all likelihood he would be unable to garner support from the Republican membership, other than perhaps a few like-minded RINOs.

Green Shoots of Liberty

February 27th marked the one-year anniversary of the Tea Party movement. A lot has happened in the past year. Thousands of protests against the stimulus spending and then against an attempted health care takeover. In the fall, victories in two gubernatorial elections and last month Republican Scott Brown was elected to the senate from Massachusetts. Who would have thought that the political landscape could change so much in one year? The American people are up to the challenge of taking back our country. The movement the media is calling the Tea Party movement is broader than that: it includes the Glenn Beck-inspired 9-12 organization, libertarians, conservatives and others without specific affiliations who are simply fed up with a government out of control and moving in the wrong direction. I call it the Liberty Movement. As we head into spring there is every sign that this year will be even more exciting than the last one. Consider a few recent events: * A national tea party convention in Nashville * Over 10,000 people attending CPAC * PJTV launched a Tea Party channel * Hot Tea Radio launched * The Constitutionalist Today launched, a grass-roots conservative newspaper * Daniel Hannan is organizing a British Tea Party! Furthermore, recent polls say: * Rasmussen poll 2/27 gives Obama a -21% approval margin with 43% strongly disapproving * only 21% of the people say this government has the consent of the governed (Rasmussen 2/18) * the same polls says 75% are angry at the policies of the federal government * only 29% say the U.S. is heading in the right direction - the same as the week of January 26, 2009 * CNN found that 56% of the American people feel that the federal government the federal government poses a threat to rights of Americans! This last poll apparently came as a surprise to CNN. The people at CNN are apparently not a part of the 49% of Americans who watch Fox News as compared to all the other news channels combined. The revolution has begun.
