An Honest Review of Tatcha Skin Care

Tatcha skin care is extremely popular right now. You pretty much can't watch a beauty guru or follow their Instagram without seeing this skin care being used.
Their packaging is eye catching and beautiful. Something you want to buy just alone to decorate your vanity counter top with. It comes with a hefty price tag which makes you think this stuff must be amazing. I will tell you what I really think of it (what I've tried of the line).

The Essence $95

What it is: A resurfacing softener of 98.7% pure anti-aging Japanese superfoods that makes all skincare work better.

My thoughts: This stuff is wildly expensive for what looks like water, be careful not to dump it! I feel this does instantly soften your skin. I'm not sure if it's an effect that really goes beyond that and lasts. I have been using it on and off for almost a year now. It does last long, as you only need a few drops in your hand that you kinda splash or pat onto your face. I would say it's nice, it does seem to give off a softened feeling to the skin after cleansing, but I'm not too sure if I really notice much overall improvement in the appearance of my skin. It's expensive, so in my opinion unless you totally don't mind spending on stuff that may or may not work then buy it. For the money though I feel I would rather purchase a different product as I'm just not too sure it's really doing anything for me.

Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil $48

What it is: This 2-in-1 makeup remover and cleanser of Camellia Oil gently melts away impurities, even waterproof makeup, leaving behind pure, silky soft skin.

My thoughts: I'm in LOVE with this cleanser. I'd never think it would actually remove all my makeup like it does. It's just an oil (or so it feels like it) you'd think it would leave an oily finish, but it doesn't!

It makes my skin feel really clean and still hydrated. I suffer from hormonal acne and as soon as I started using this the break outs have stopped. I don't know if it's a coincidence or what but I cannot say enough good things. The only down fall is the price.

The Rice Polish: Classic $65

What it is: A water-activated exfoliant of nourishing Japanese Rice Bran that transforms to a creamy foam for smooth, polished skin with a healthy glow.

My thoughts: This is a nice feeling product but I don't feel any real

exfoliation going on with in regards to the texture of it. I figured it would be very small granules that would exfoliate for you. It instead is a powered rice product that melts down as soon as you add water. It feel soft on the skin and ends up turning milky with rubbing.

To be honest I don't know how much this is doing. I've used it for over a week and don't really notice too much. Possibly I may need to test this out longer or even use more product at once. If you're looking for a micro-dermabrasion like scrub polish this isn't it. it may be a slower cell turn over with this product. Not bad, but just not really sure if it's good.

The Dewy Skin Cream: $68

What it is: A rich cream that feeds skin with plumping hydration and antioxidant-packed Japanese purple rice for a dewy, healthy glow. Ideal for dry skin, but can be used on normal skin for those who prefer a richer texture.

My thoughts: This is a heavy weight moisterizer. I would say it's more of an evening skin cream. I'm pretty sure it's breaking me out. I noticed right away, but I kept giving it another chance, as I really want to like it. I also love how moisturizing and thick it felt.

I suffer from hormonal acne so my skin is very sensitive to breakouts. If i'm correct and it is the cream breaking me out, it's giving me some horrible cystic acne on my cheeks. I tried this for a week or so. I've stopped using it for about a week and now my skin is doing well. It could be from the face wash (mentioned earlier) or from stopping this cream...I'm not sure. Currently I'm too afraid to use it, but I will give it a go at a later date.

I read there is dimethicone in the ingredients. This is known to clog pores. I can understand why this is in there as it leaves a silky feeling to the skin and helps seal in the moisture (more like trapping it), that's why your skin can't breath. For acne sufferers this is a red flag ingredient.

I personally wouldn't buy this again. I prefer Neo Strata and Vichy's moisturizers for the price and performance. If you're not worried about sensitive skin or prone to break outs then you may really love this product.

Those are all the products I've tried in the line. From what I've tried I think there are hits and misses. I do find this line to be a bit over priced. I think they spend a lot on the packaging and you're paying possibly almost double the price of what the product should cost if it had more simplistic packaging.

Ladurée Vancouver Must Try French Toast

Ladurée has been in Vancouver for a few years now and I kept forgetting to go try it out.

If you haven't heard of Ladurée before it's a very famous Café in Paris founded in 1862 that is world renowned for their Macarons, in fact I believe they created them.

I have tried Macarons before and never liked them as they were too sweet to me. Unfortunately the day we went, we didn't try any (I know bad, right). I will have to go back and give them a try as I've heard they're the best and are really well reviewed.

What we did order was the Raspberry French Toast with fresh Raspberry Purée and Rose whip cream (not shown in picture) and a Latté.

The way the latte was served was really special. It came in its own pretty silver pouring container with the milk boiling hot in a second pretty container (don't know what they were called). What's so great about the way it was served is you can make it as strong or weak, with as much milk as you'd like. I really liked that. Also for the amount we each got I felt we could have shared. I believe we ordered a small, but it seemed like a lot.

Now for the French Toast.

Wow, by far this was truly the best french toast I've ever had. It completely warrants the price tag of $20, high I know.. With the fresh raspberry purée it was divine, not overly sweet, just perfect. The way they cooked the french toast was perfection as it was really eggy and heavy, but still cooked throughout while still being moist. It was incredible. The rose whipcream was a really nice surprise and complimented it very nicely. We were both full after this meal and we started off starving. So it goes to show that what looks like a small meal was really not so small.

If you can try one thing there I would say go for the french toast. I read a lot of reviews before we went and consensus shows it was the most highlighted menu item.

Trying Fab Fit Fun for the first time

I've always been curious about these subscription boxes. I'm sure most if us have seen them being promoted by all our favorite celebrities and influencers. I was really curious to see how I'd feel or if it was all hyped up.

I ordered the Fall 2019 box. I takes about 30 days to arrive, so don;t be buying this for a gift, or tight deadline. LEAVE a lot of time!! I actually wanted to give this as a gift, but the timing did not allow for it.

When you sign up for Fab Fit Fun, you make a profile and go through a set of questions so they know what you're most interested in and how to tailor your box to more your liking. You get to choose some of the items. I would advise if you really want the best options order early as I noticed some of the better choices (items) were already sold out (I ordered mid Sept). So some of the items are a surprise and some you choose. If you like you can choose an option where they completely customize it for you and you have no say.

Review on the Louis Vuitton Laureate Desert Boot

I received these as a birthday present from my hubby early October. I'm loving them so much I thought I'd make a post for anyone whose considering them. I've also made a YouTube video where I talk about them and do some good close up video shots.

There are so many luxury boots out there to choose from it's overwhelming and hard to decide. If you have at least decided you feel like treating yourself (the price isn't fir the faint of heart) I want to help break down why I think these are a good contender to add to your wardrobe.

They're chunky. I like that though. Whats really great is this will actually protect them so you can wear them to the park and on the gravel/rock trail. Even in a bit of mud (yes I've been there already). The fact that the Laureate boots have such a chunky sole protects the rest of the boot so you won't need to baby these pricier boots.

They're not really a heel. The fact that there isn't too much incline means they are ultra comfortable. I like how the design breaks up the front from the back so it gives an illusion of a heel, without there being a heel incline!!

They fit a touch small. I'm normally a 38 in European sizes. I have these in a 39 so I can wear thick socks. I would say if you're a 7.5 typically get the 38, but if you're more like an 8 go for the 39 for the extra room.

I like how they have the Louis Vuitton monogram but it isn't too flashy. There are different color and material choice to fit your desires.

These LV boots pretty much go with anything. I am a pretty casual dresser so they pair really well in my wardrobe. I love wearing them with Lululemons and a puffer coat (total Vancouverite) to skirts and a blazer for a cool effortless updated look.

Perfect Summer Wine

Wowzers.
So I just tried this wine after having it our cellar for a few years now. I remember going to this winery to taste test and picked it up, but can't remember it being this incredible.

If you're looking for that perfect Rose. This is it. it's full of flavor but still dry and crisp. To me I could taste strawberry but the winery states rhubarb and red fruit...not sure if that includes strawberries.
Anyway it's delicious and I can't recommend it enough.

I don't see the 2013 available any longer but the 2014 seems to be rated well.

The BEST Nail Polish

I cannot believe how great this polish is and can't wait to tell you about it. It's the Infinite Shine by OPI it's a long wear nail polish that you apply at home and is not a gel. I purchased mine at Sally's Beauty (in Canada) but I'm sure it's available in many salons and stores. The picture below is after 7 days wear. I'm not kidding either!!

It's not always this great after a week but I can promise you it's a lot better then the regular OPI polish or any other regular polish I've tried.
When you purchase the nail polish the key is to get the base coat along with your color and the top coat. I have a little trick I like to think helps it last longer (who knows) I like to start applying the color while the base coat is still slightly tacky. I feel it makes more of a bond to the nail, and less chips in the end.
I think these would also make a great gift, but make sure to get the base coat and top coat. :)

Vibrant Puerto Vallarta | Where we like to stay and recommendations

Puerto Vallarta is a place I've been visiting since a kid. It's not too expensive and I feel it has a lot to offer in terms of things to do and relaxation. It's very tropically dense there which really adds to the appeal for me.

Me and my partner really enjoying staying on the southern side of the city, in the Conchas Chinas area which is close to the romantic zone. This is far from the large all inclusive resorts and more near smaller hotels and villa's, although there are still some moderately sized hotels to be found. This area is all hillside, so depending where you stay it can be a hike back up to your room, but it's so worth it!

This past December we stayed at the Grand Miramar All Luxury Resort and Suites. This hotel is WAY up the mountain. You wouldn't want to walk to the beach, unless you're into a really good burn on the way back. Every morning I really looked forward to walking down and up the hill (part way). It was so scenic I couldn't get enough of the view and all the birds around in the lush rain forest.
The hotel was really nice, but more quiet than I expected (and I don't like a noisy or too crowded hotel). There were multiple pools and a stunning roof top infinity edge pool right by the restaurant. The view of the ocean, and city, plus being nestled right against the lush jungle mountains made for an unforgettable experience.
Food in the hotel restaurants was good but nothing to remember or write home about.

Our previous trip in 2015 we stayed at a rental apartment which I really liked and would highly recommend. It was walk-able to the town but still a workout to get back. Here is the link to the condo: Casa de la Rosa ll

The romantic zone is really special. Although it does cater to tourists it's not your typical touristy part of Puerto Vallarta.... if that makes any sense... The main city area of PV is where you'll find the really touristy parts, but the romantic zone is all about smaller businesses, better restaurants and nicer boutiques as well as excellent art galleries.

A few of our favorite spots to eat are Ponchos Tacos for a quick inexpensive bite. La Palapa for beach front dining, a tad pricey but well worth it. You can sit right on the sand if you choose. For location and somewhere unique to go we like Le Kliff Restaurant it's great for a special occasion.

We came across the Conchas Chinas beach which we'd never been to before and now that we know of it I'm sure we will spend a lot more time there on our next trip. The sand is very soft, and water was the clearest I've witnessed in Puerto Vallarta.

For a stellar day trip I can't recommend enough to head to Yelapa. Don't get sucked into the tour packages you can go yourself by taking a $15 - $20 cab ride from town to the bay (25min drive) where you need to catch a water taxi. The water taxi ride was about 20-30mins long and comes multiple times per day. When we went it was $7US.

Once there, there are waterfalls and and venders to purchase from. There are smaller restaurants on the beach. Its a quaint little town that takes you back to another era. Just be sure to figure out times for the water taxi as that's the only way out. There are no roads back to Puerto Vallarta.

Breakaway to the Sunshine Coast/ What to do, Where to Stay

The Sunshine Coast is beautiful, and the best part is it's very close to Vancouver, with the ferry ride being only about 40 mins, you could be there in just over an hour.

We went over the other day just for one night, although I would have preferred much longer...

Francis Point Hike

I feel as if it's a whole new world, so close to the hustle of Vancouver but yet worlds away, peaceful and much slower paced. The people are all so friendly; we didn't encounter one rude person what-so-ever. You feel free to relax unwind and not worry about how you look, or traffic, or anything! No stress.

The larger cities/towns on the Sunshine Coast are Gibsons and Sechelt. I've been to Gibsons once before to eat at the famous Molly's Reach (where they filmed The Beachcombers), but we didn't end up going this time round.

Francis Point Hike

We did stop in Sechelt for an awesome and HIGHLY recommended meal at The Basted Baker. Tried their Lemon + Chive Smashed Avocado Benny, and my man had their Local Smoked Salmon Benny. Out of the two I would say his was better, but they were both incredibly good!

We then walked around town and along the ocean promenade. I did notice it can be pretty windy there so come prepared.

We drove a bit up the coast to Madeira Park, it's a small community in Pender Harbour with a small quaint village. We did a really beautiful hike there to Francis Point. It was just perfect if you want something to get your heart rate up a bit but nothing too hard. It was along the ocean so it was very scenic, in my opinion it was a perfect hike, and highly recommended.

For dinner there's a nearby pub that's fairly popular in the area about 5-10 mins up the highway called The Grasshopper Pub. I had the butter chicken which seems odd for a pub, but if you like your typical butter chicken you'll really like this, it was nice and spicy filled with flavor!

For accommodations there are many places to stay in the area, if you're into luxury you can stay at the Painted Boat Resort, or the unique Rockwater Resort where you stay in luxurious tents ( I stayed here once before and highly recommend this, especially if you're looking for something different). If you're on a budget or just don't feel the need for luxury I really recommend Stonewater Motel, they are very pet friendly and the lady that runs it is extremely friendly, they also offer camping as well. We stayed here without any reservations with our dog, so I was really happy to have found a bed! If you're looking to rent a cabin I seen Pender Habour Resort offers cabins and yurt Rentals along with campsites. They have a nice pool and are situated right on the water at the marina.

The next day we did a little hike at Daniel Point (hard to find) , then drove around and had lunch at La Verne's Grill, I really liked the slow pace and old school charm here... it was a nice treat to sit in the sun outside on the picnic table enjoying some ice cream. The whole vibe of the Sunshine Coast really brings you back to a time when life was slow paced, I think you'll really appreciate it ;)

Mules and Loafers are tremendously popular right now. They came back in trend and recent popularity again during 2016 largely from Gucci. Gucci has and always will be famous for their horsebit loafer, but I would say that is their signature shoe for the season, year, and past year...for sure really on fire!

Moisturize the Natural Way...Using Olive Oil

It's a shame I have a drawer filled with drugstore beauty products, but I haven't been using them at all lately! I've gone natural I guess you could say, but I will use them again in the fall.

For the sunnier weather I've really been enjoying using olive oil on my skin. It's such a perfectly balanced form of hydration for your skin. It soaks in well, and if you happen to put too much on just lightly pat your face with a tissue to absorb any extra.
I've been finding olive oil to be really great before bed, I even rub it on my face then use a cotton pad to cleanse my makeup off. Then I will add a touch more and massage into my skin, along with my hands and neck for added moisture to those areas before bedtime.

I've found olive oil to be great for my dry nails. it is also really good for your hair if you're finding the ends to be dry.

When purchasing olive oil to use on your skin, just buy what you'd use for cooking with. Look for extra virgin olive oil that says first press. This guarantees it's not processed at all and has the most antioxidants in it.
Olive oil has a natural sun protection of SPF 8, so you can also use it during the day to keep the sun rays off a bit without any harmful chemicals like regular sunscreen.
Olive oil is really great for so many things. It's also very inexpensive!

Hello, just wanted to write a little bit about my recent Whistler trip for anyone who hasn't been and is possibly planning to go on their next trip to the Vancouver area. Whistler is about a 2-2.5 hour drive from Vancouver on the Sea to Sky highway. It's been ranked one of the most beautiful drives in the world, and it absolutely is!

We stayed for 3 nights. I wish I could have stayed longer as that would be nice, but we didn't want to spend too much. It can add up quickly with eating out and lift tickets. Hotels can be pricey in Whistler so this time we stayed at one of the more budget friendly places which is the Coast Hotel.
I will talk a bit about this hotel if your're curious and never been....it's great for ski-in-ski-out, as it's literally right beside the slopes. Don't worry about getting your ski passes ahead of time because you can ski right down to where you buy them, and the lift back up is right there!
The Coast Hotel also includes a daily continental breakfast. They had boiled eggs, toast, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, waffles and Starbucks coffee (pretty decent for free). Every morning I would go downstairs and grab some food, then use the toaster in our room, as it's just more convenient that way. Your room will come with a full kitchen as well.
The outdoor pool and hot-tub are open year round, so it's great for kids and adults to relax. Overall for the price the Coast Hotel is my favorite, especially for the ski-in ski-out convenience. We brought our pooch too, and all rooms are animal friendly (I believe anyways).

If you're looking for higher-end I would recommend the Fairmont as they have the best ski-in/out location and have the nicest amenities, including steam-room/sauna, hot-tubs and pools.

Whistler is incredibly beautiful, it was ridiculously cold this time though, but the sun was out which is kind of rare for up there.
The village is large with lots of shopping and great restaurants. This time we ate at 21 Steps, which is always a favorite and for a more upscale meal we tried out Sidecut for the first time. We were so hungry after skiing we went to the Four Seasons (where Sidecut is located) and enjoyed some snacks first in the lounge, then moved over to the dinning room after for Dinner. The food was incredible, I can't recommend it enough! It is pricey, but if you feel like a well deserved meal, you won't be disappointed. They also had live music in the lounge area which was really nice.

Now to the slopes.
Whistler can often tend to be icy but this time was incredible! If you're an avid skier you won't be disappointed as there are two mountains to ski.; Whistler and Blackcomb. There's also well over 200 runs between the two. I've hardly skied even a fraction... I'm really not the best, I stick mainly to blue runs where I feel safe!

Even with the frigid temperatures -15 Celsius Whistler was still very enjoyable, and don't worry it's usually not that cold!
We didn't do too much, just relaxed and ate some really good food, as well as did a bit of shopping and wondering about through the stunning art galleries and larger hotels. There are so many great places to stop and grab a hot-toddy too, so yes, I did that :) I LOVE hot Toddies!

The Ella tote is a completely vegan bag. I've seen this go on sale before, so check back after Christmas as I can only hope you'll see it on for less. This is the larger size.. It is the only style Ella Tote that remains without any leather, so I'm hoping they don't discontinue it anytime soon.

Fragrances That Make a Great Gift || Perfume and Cologne Reviews

For the Women

I go in and out of phases where I remember to wear a fragrance everyday, and sometimes forget. Right now I'm in my fragrance phase..more like addicted stage...and I thought with Christmas coming up it's a good time to talk about some that I highly recommend as you may be thinking of gift ideas.

The first one is the latest addition to my collection. Since purchased I've worn it everyday (I find it THAT addicting) Even giving myself a spritz before bed.
It's the 25th Anniversary fragrance Fiesta Carioca by Escada. It's another limited edition of theirs that offers a fresh exotic scent of fruit on top of a musky woody background. It's so incredible and although it may be a summer sent I quite like it for winter since it really picks you up from the gloomy weather.

The next is a lifetime all round favorite, probably my number one choice of any perfume. That is Chanel No.5. This fragrance offers such a powdery scent. It's so classic it's hard to describe. It isn't old lady to me, it's just perfect. I recommend getting the Eau de Parfum as it will last all day on your skin. It's simply divine.

This next fragrance is something that's perfect if you're in a playful mood, feeling sexual or I think going to the club. The reason I say going to a club (or any social venue to pick up men) is that for me to smell sweet is very attractive and if you're single I think it's a very alluring scent. Who doesn't like cake or doughnuts?? The fragrance is Sexual Sugar by Michel Germain. This is a sweet sent but not too sugary that it smells cheap, if that makes any sense.

There's one more for women I'd like to mention that I feel is a real classic and that is Dolce by Dolce and Gabbana.

This is Dolce and Gabbana's signature scent. It's a definite classic and offers a possible slightly more youthful scent than Chanel No.5 but still very ultra classic and good for all ages.

For the men

This is a gorgeously deep scent. I bought this for my man last year and I'm still obsessed every time he wears it. He loves it too. It's La Nuit De L'Homme by YSL and believe me it's really good, you won't want to stop smelling him. The top notes are lavender, bergamot and cardamom with a woody cedar and black pepper. It's very dark and rich. I highly recommend this as a gift!

This is a repeat year after year with my man. I actually bought this twice for him, he ran out of it so quickly I was surprised and hey, I have no clue what to buy him usually, so I thought this one again...and as you can see it's nearing empty already.

It's Chanel, so pretty much that right there tells you it's good. It's a very classic scent that doesn't steer too far in any direction. Just a nice clean scent that I feel would be a safe bet for most any man. It has woody notes but citrus ones too. It's very well created and blended perfectly. May possibly be the most perfect and safest fragrance. You'll have to try it to know what I mean!

This last one is oh so good. My man's had it for a few years now, but I love it like the first day. It's unique, ultra rich and chocolaty (well that's what we get from it).

It's Very Irresistible for men by Givenchy. It doesn't mention chocolate when you google it, but that's what I get as well as my man says. Anyway, it does mention coffee, mint cedar and grapefruit. This is a fragrance I would recommend for someone who likes a bit deeper scent. Perfect for winter as it's very warm and chocolaty. :)

I want to share with you what I've been using on my face for the past while.

I've tried a ton of products as I used to suffer from really nasty hormonal acne, what I've been using the past bit I've been really happy with and wanted to share. To me this is the ultimate every day skincare routine. Everything is just perfect, doesn't break me out, doesn't cost a fortune and actually does what it says. I've been slowly using more and more Vichy products over the last few years. I promise this isn't endorsed by them, I actually just really like their products!

This duo from Neo Strata will save you a ton of money by not needing to go to the medi-spa for an expensive dermabrasion appointment. It works great and lasts a long time...while maybe I'm not using it enough...anyways give your face a good scrub with the crystals for a few minutes. I like to add a touch of water to help the scrub go a bit further. Then after that add the activator gel and rub into your skin for another 2 minutes. It will burn a bit the first few times you use it, but hey no pain no gain. Right!

I was just at Guildford mall yesterday with a girl friend trying my best not to spend money, but couldn't help but notice how many great items were available.
I thought I'd share some of my favorite picks for fall and winter. Classic items that will last through the whole season and beyond. When I shop I always shop with these 2 questions in mind; will I wear this by next year and if the quality will hold up. The pieces I've chosen to share I believe have both those qualities.

First we went into Aldo and I happened to notice these boots straight away. I was really drawn to them. So much so I convinced my friend to buy them.

What I like about them:

1. The thicker rubber soul, it's perfect for slippery nights or a slight dusting of snow. The color's not too light to show too much dirt and camel always looks great with so many fall winter colors.
2. The heel is a perfect height; you'll add length but not pain.
3.They're a perfect length up the leg to wear with the new shorter style pants that are HUGE this season called Culottes.

Next up is an absolute winter essential, a warm coat.

I bought this coat a month or so ago from Aritzia and I absolutely love it! It's a wool cashmere blend that's done very well. I felt my last wool coat was very heavy and stiff so I wanted to make sure this one felt light and soft. You HAVE to be comfortable and warm! I also love the fact this one has a hood.
Living in Vancouver you're always caught in the rain, and the hood has already come in handy many times. This coat feels almost like a robe, trust me it's that comfortable. It's also very warm. If you've never bought a wool coat from Aritzia I can promise for the money you won't find a better one. they may seem a tad pricey but they're worth every penny and you'll have it for years.

Pleats are big this season, this skirt from Aritzia is an excellent way to incorporate a fashion trend into your wardrobe, but also making it very practical.
This skirt can be worn so many ways. Worn with a crop top for evening, worn with a blouse or sweater for work, and paired with some chunky boots for an edgy day time look.
I feel this skirt looks better in person as the pleats were very nice and stood out. It can also be brought into spring and summer so it doesn't miss a season.

A nice knit sweater is always a staple in any wardrobe. You'll find times to pull this out no matter what.
I love this one for the slits up the side. It would look great with pleather pants and an edgy heeled boot, or even a nice flat riding boot and some jeans. I love the chunky cable knit and feel that it always looks more refined and classic, that's just my opinion. Aritzia also had other styles similar to this without the turtle neck as I know some aren't big on feel up to their ears in a sweater.

I love Palm Springs for so many reasons. I feel when I tell people it's my favorite spot to vacation, they think I'm a bit strange...there's no ocean they say, isn't it boring? The answer is a big fat NO!

Palm Springs is such a glorious place, it's got an awesome cool laid back vibe, all the while offering everything you need to make life pleasant and comfortable. One of my favorite things to do there is check out all the awesome dining options. here are some of my favorites:

For Breakfast:

Cheeky's
Cheeky's offers a cool healthy alternative to your typical Denny's style greasy breakfast. They source local ingredients, make their biscuits and many items from scratch as well as offer fresh juice and a unique bacon sampler plate. Make sure to go early as there's always a line up!

Elmer's
Elmer's is a larger scale family restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favorite thing about Elmer's is you can order pretty much anything you're craving! I love getting their crepes and then splitting a savory dish as well with my man. They have fantastic omelets and their service has always been prompt. It can get busy on weekends, but the wait is usually no more than 10 mins.

For Lunch:

There are so many great choices so it's really hard to decide whats great for lunch as apposed to dinner. These places I suggest for daytime people watching and great patio drinks. Places that also put you in the heart of Palm Springs so you can check out some chic shopping before or after.

Lulu California Bistro

Lulu
Lulu's number one sell to me is the beautiful large patio in the heart of Palm Springs perfect for people watching. They offer many great healthy dishes and their menu varies from Avocado Tuna Towers to excellent burgers and pasta. Sit back, relax and take in this gorgeous restaurants decor and scenery. Highly recommend! This place can get busy near weekends so keep that in mind.

Trio
Trio is another restaurant on the strip in the heart of the action. here they offer happy hour and great deals on 3 course meals. I couldn't believe how low the bill was for all the food we received. It's another great spot for people watching.

For Dinner:

Shanghai Reds
I really feel this place is a must! I recommend sitting at the bar as the experience is really cool. They cook everything right in front of you and it's incredible to see how organized and fast paced this kitchen is! Everything is great here as we've tried almost everything on the menu and I've never been disappointed. My favorite dish is the Shrimp scampi and Linguine, but what they're really famous for are their fish tacos; an absolute must!!

Roy's
Roy's is a bit of a drive out as it's in Rancho mirage. It will take about 10-15 mins to get there from down town Palm Springs. It's a bit more of a finer dining restaurant then the others I've mentioned, but it's a really nice dinner experience. Their food is Hawaiian fusion, with many seafood offerings with a tropical twist. Their drinks are stiff and incredible. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Eight4Nine
Eight4Nine is a newer addition to the Palm Springs dining scene. This restaurant is conveniently located on Palm Canyon Drive near some excellent shopping. The decor in this restaurant is fabulous, all very white and pink. It's a bit more formal of a restaurant so feel free to dress up. They have a beautiful bar to sit at as well as outside courtyard sitting.

The Louis Vuitton Alma BB

Me with my new Alma Bag

This is the first luxury bag I've ever purchased myself. I put a lot of thought into it and took the plunge.... and I'm so happy I did!

I've had this bag almost 2 months now and thought I would do a bit of a review in case you may be thinking of purchasing this gorgeous bag.

1.What made me go for the Alma BB in Epi Noir?

I felt I couldn't go wrong with black. It's timeless and matches everything. Although I really do love the monogram, just wanted something that was understated and could be dressed up.

2. Why Epi Leather:

Although Epi leather is a tad more expensive than the canvas prints, I think its very durable and again I had the option to get a solid color. Since this is my first luxury purchase, I wanted it to be as versatile as possible. I felt the monogram and Damier Ebene are a tad casual looking. The black is easy to dress up with an evening dress, and also be worn in the day cross body, with a more casual outfit.

3. Why the Alma BB and not another size or other handbag?

Although this bag is a tad small, it still fits essentials. I also love the fact that it comes with a strap to wear cross body. I think the larger sizes in this bag would be too bulky to wear cross body so this is a great size for that. I think the BB has a cute look to it, and I feel it's a lot to do with the small size.
I love hobo style bags and would like to eventually own a luxury one, I went with the Alma, as it can be dressed up or down, and carried with or without the strap.

4. How is the bag working out/holding up?

The Alma BB has been amazing! I'm so in love with it every time I see it (I know that might sound crazy). there's not one scratch on it, and it's pretty much been my daily handbag for almost 2 months. It feels great in my hands. I love the micro fiber interior as well. The bag is light weight, and although you do have to watch what you pack with you, it easily fits some makeup, my phone with case on it, full size wallet, and key cles. I feel the leather is very durable, and the feet on the bottom protect it from dirty surfaces.

I cannot recommend this bag enough. I think it's a great first time bag for a Louis Vuitton luster... :)

I Want To Give More

For some reason I have a slight attachment to things. I have this feeling towards item I won't even use or wear for years. I really want to let go of this attachment....

Of course not everything I'm going to let go of. Somethings are keeps sake, or really do have sentimental value. Some items were possibly very expensive, they're classic items and hold there value or the value goes up with time...but for the most part I need to let go.

Usually I'll give my stuff to the Salvation Army, which is totally fine to do. Unfortunately they've closed down the one where I live, but there's still one close by in the next town. There's also Facebook groups where you can sell items and people bid. For some reason I'm HORRIBLE at this, and have pretty much given away items for $2, which I see someone sell the same item, in a more used condition and get $50. So I've learned there's no point selling this stuff, wasting my time when I could give it to someone who really NEEDS it and can't afford it. I want to and would rather GIVE.

My wonderful fiance bought us some new luggage the past week. Mine was still in good condition, and I thought what am I going to do with this, and who will take it as a donation. I didn't want to drop it off at a thrift store to be re-sold, I wanted to straight up just give. This inspired me to Google the homeless shelters in Vancouver. There are a lot of people that come through there that probably could use something to carry their belongings in. Well luckily they accept donations!! I was so happy to see this, and although this might be common knowledge to some, I had no idea. Where I live (Langley) we don't have shelters..Well okay we have one, and I don't think they take donations (I need to look into that)... Anyways they accept so many items I've never thought about before. Besides the usual, such as clothing. They accept and need toiletry items, toothbrushes, shoes, magazines, games and so much more, who doesn't have these items to give?

To make a long story short, I truly enjoyed gathering items around my house that I wasn't using any longer. I found a lot, and what's great is I'm also a hoarder of hotel toiletry items, so I had a ton of them to donate! Perfect too as they request travel size toiletries, anyways now my toiletry hoarding game will get stronger as I know it's all for a good cause.

Moral of this story, there's so much we can give. I need to let go and not be so afraid that I might use an item again. If I do happen to ever regret donating something (I've never so far), I'm in a position where I'm sure I can go get a new one. There are so many people in a position where they don't have ANYTHING. It feels so good to help out, and how amazing it would feel to receive.

Green Smoothies... Daily

I've been having a green smoothie everyday for about 2 weeks now. I used to make a smoothie here and there, (more like once or twice a month really), but never actually gave it 100% and made one everyday until now.
We have a Vitamix, and if you don't and have been thinking about getting one, they are worth every penny! There is nothing this thing won't blend up.

Green Smoothie

With my daily smoothie dosing I swear I am feeling a difference. I've been keeping it simple by having the same produce on hand. For a single serving smoothie I use one apple, 1.5 celery sticks, 1-2 leafs of kale, fresh chunks of ginger a bit of orange juice (to ease blending) and 2 ice cubes.
The are so many benefits to smoothies. You keep all the fiber as opposed to juicing. With smoothies or juicing you are breaking down the enzymes so that your body and bloodstream absorbs the nutrients more quickly and concentrated (so I believe).

I'm not a huge fan of eating salads so this is really a drinkable salad and I feel like I have more energy. I've been waking up earlier everyday (even when going to sleep later) which is strange, but good!
Leafy greens provide protein, fiber, iron, magnesium, vitamin D and more. Ginger is anti-inflammatory, so it's great to help prevent cancer and many other illnesses. It also helps with acne, and your digestive system plus provides a great zing to the taste of your smoothie.

Anyways, this was a bit of a boring post, but I just want to let you know it's so easy to incorporate smoothies into your daily life and up your veggie intake!
