I decided today that with all the talk on Twitter about macaroons that I would be daring and try to make some. I’d never made any before and though really “how hard could it be?!” That was my first mistake, although I’m not sure if this is what they are supposed to look like, they do however taste delicious! I think I am partial to the chewier ones. I’m pretty sure macaroons aren’t supposed to chewy. Hmmmm. I suppose this gives me a reason to try making them again. Always room for improvement!

Note: I started writing this last week sorry for the past and present tense!

I had good intentions of writing up my food journal last night when I was slacking from painting Lukah’s room with Tim but I didn’t. Riley woke up with a monstrous nose bleed and that kept my busy until the wee hours of the morning. I kinda fell asleep in his bed waiting for him to go back to sleep. Poor little guy I always feel bad for him when he gets woken up but nose bleeds/vomit/scary noises. The night before I just didn’t do it. I had other things to do that seemed important at the time even though I can’t remember what they were. Anyways, here it goes for Thursday!

How to make baby food

Yup, that is what I started my day by doing. I’m going to admit that I have been buying Heinz Organic baby food for Lukah. It’s convenient and easy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with jarred baby food, but I do have to admit that making it myself for my little screaming billy-goat makes me feel like I’m being a better Momma. I haven’t had a lot of time to make baby food in the past month since he started eating it so I actually planned it and put it in my Google calendar for today. I had bought some organic pears from the Farmer’s Market last weekend and was waiting for them to ripen up so they would have the optimum amount of sweetness. I think if I would have waited another day they would have been over ripe and really hard to work with, great planning on my part. It’ almost like I knew what I was doing, if only that was true!
