Floating somewhere between late-night introspection and dancefloor glide, Dreams EP arrives as a natural next step for Tour-Maubourg. Known for threading jazz sensibilities into deep house frameworks, his sound has steadily matured since earlier releases on labels like Pont Neuf Records and Noire & Blanche. Here, that signature palette is again very refined. Soft keys drift over steady grooves, while subtle improvisations give the tracks a lived-in, almost conversational feel. There’s a patience to his production, shaped as much by crate-digging culture as by club intuition.

Released via Noire & Blanche, Dreams EP expands its world through thoughtful collaborations, including contributions from Kareem Ali, Nic Hanson, and Cyan Lu. Each guest adds a new shade without breaking the flow, keeping the record cohesive and dynamic in our sound system. It’s music that breathes, equally suited for headphones or dimly lit rooms. Compared to Floating on Silence EP, there’s a deeper sense of identity here, less about proving and more about settling into a groove. Tour-Maubourg doesn’t rush the moments. He lets them unfold, one warm chord at a time. Available on vinyl.

The Lisbon underground is very capable of surprises, and the latest comes from producer Ninguem. Following a string of deep, atmospheric releases, he returns with the Right Time EP, a deeply personal project that drops via his own imprint, Arodama Music. The story behind this release is as organic as it gets. A few years before the world locked down, Ninguem reached out to vocalist Nádia (LEIDE) over Instagram after recognizing her from a bar in Bairro Alto. What started as a rustic home recording session—complete with a sock used as a pop filter—eventually evolved into the lush, soulful vocal takes that anchor the record's title track today.

Beyond the rich, dusty originals, the Right Time EP is heavily bolstered by a carefully selected crew of remixers. Ninguem tapped into his local network, bringing in talents like Dupplo, Kelson, and Pedro Khan to completely deconstruct the source material. Kelson, a longtime friend currently riding a wave of momentum, delivers a bold, unexpected rework that gives the simple lyrics an entirely new narrative weight. Meanwhile, Pedro Khan brings his complex, journey-driven energy to the table, and Dupplo rounds out the package with a mature, consistent sonic response. Ninguem ensures this independent release has a rock-solid foundation, setting the stage for Arodama Records to become a platform for underground Portuguese talent. Available in the main music streaming platforms.

Zachary Berns steps forward with canvas / rendezvous, a self-released two-track beauty that captures the raw intersection of NYC’s jazz underground and late-night club energy. Known around the city for his work under the moniker zbeeez and the collective poetic thrust, Berns stepped into European circles last year with his debut on vinyl via the classy Limited White Label. A regular presence in parties like Soul in the Horn, his approach leans toward the live and the spontaneous. This record follows that instinct. It feels unpolished in the best way. Alive.

On canvas / rendezvous, that energy translates into a loose form of jazz house. Live drums push and pull against warm grooves, while Jesse Klirsfeld’s trumpet cuts through with expressive phrasing that keeps things fluid. There’s a sense of musicians listening to each other, reacting in the moment rather than locking into rigid structure. The result sits somewhere between jam session and dancefloor tool. Not overthought. A snapshot of a scene and a mindset, where jazz cats meet club heads and let things unfold naturally. Available on Bandcamp.

14KT leans inward on Morning Meds, a deeply personal release on Karat Gold Music that trades beat tape energy for something more reflective. Known for his roots in Detroit’s hip-hop scene and affiliations with crews like Athletic Mic League, 14KT has always balanced precision with soul. But here, the focus shifts. Built during early morning meditation sessions, the record unfolds slowly, guided by breath, stillness and intention rather than rhythm alone.

Across Morning Meds, jazz becomes a tool for healing as much as expression. Soft chords drift in and out, tones shaped by an interest in Solfeggio frequencies and their emotional pull. There’s no rush. Each piece feels like a quiet conversation, grounded in presence and subtle movement. Released via his own Karat Gold Records, the album sits comfortably outside the usual frameworks, offering a space to reset rather than react. It’s about alignment and a gentle reminder to pause and listen inward. Available on Bandcamp.

Nubiyan Twist return in full force with Chasing Shadows on Strut Records, reaffirming their place as one of the UK’s most fluid and globally minded collectives. Led by Tom Excell, the London-based group flows within jazz, afrobeat, hip-hop and electronic textures into something that feels both communal and alive. Their journey, from early underground shows to internationally celebrated releases like Find Your Flames (Strut Records, 2024) has always centred on collaboration. This new chapter leans even further into that shared energy. It’s a record shaped by people in rooms together, not presets or shortcuts.

Across Chasing Shadows, that human pulse comes through in every layer. New vocalist Eniola brings a fresh warmth, while a wide cast of collaborators—ranging from Fatoumata Diawara to Joe Armon-Jones and Patrice Rushen—add depth and infinite possibilities. The grooves move easily between afrobeat bounce, dub explorations and hip-hop-rooted rhythms, always grounded in supremely tight musicianship. Released via Strut Records, a label known for championing forward-thinking global sounds, the album feels expansive but never distant. It celebrates connection, rhythm and imperfection, the kind of details that can’t be programmed, only lived. Available on vinyl.

Guohan sketches a moving diary on Transient Response, landing via Darker Than Wax with a sound that feels shaped by distance and transition. Born in China and now based in London, his music often carries that in-between energy—restless but reflective, rooted yet constantly shifting. The label itself has long championed artists who blur lines between beats, jazz and club forms, and this release fits right in. It’s subtle, groove-led storytelling, where textures speak as much as melodies.

On Transient Response, each track unfolds like a passing scene. “Don’t Forget Your Hiss” rides a dusty funk loop, its repeated vocal phrase slowly revealing deeper meaning as it evolves. “First Light” drifts in next, MPC drums tapping out a hazy rhythm that feels like a quiet studio afternoon stretching into evening. Flip it over and “Seeds of Tomorrow” leans into broken beat territory, layering percussion with warm analog tones that keep things gently in motion. A remix from Knopha closes things out, adding another perspective without breaking the mood. It’s a low-key but thoughtful release, built for slow listening and steady movement. Available on vinyl.

London-based producer Ollie Malin is back in the driver's seat. Under his widely respected alias Romaal Kultan, he has built a serious reputation of drifting between genres with ease. Over the years, his eclectic fusions of broken beat, hip-hop, and house have graced labels like YAM, Tiff's Joints, and his own imprint, Personal Discs. Now, he steps up to the plate for None More Records to deliver None More Rollers Vol. 3. While his past catalog fiercely resists easy categorization, this three-track EP strips things back to a highly focused, clear-cut palette. Driven strictly by atmospheric breakbeat pressure, it is music built for finding serious momentum inside repetition. The track titles are deliberately utilitarian, reflecting a recent period of rapid, unfiltered creative expansion. Malin has described a recent artistic renaissance pulling him between softness and severity, and this project beautifully captures the harder edge of that spectrum.

Beneath the heavy drums, there is a quiet geographical hum that grounds the record. Having been raised across multiple countries, Malin’s sense of belonging remains slightly unresolved. London acts as his primary fixation, yet it still feels like a "near-home" that keeps him at arm's length. That lingering feeling of existing just outside of fixed scenes perfectly mirrors the EP's contemplative emotional tone. There is also a distinct, heavy weight attached to this release. None More Rollers Vol. 3 will likely stand as the very last chapter under the Romaal Kultan moniker. As Malin navigates a period of personal reinvention, his future sounds will probably emerge under fresh aliases. If this is truly the end of the road for the project, it serves as a remarkably precise and fitting punctuation mark. Available on vinyl.

Toyin Agbetu resurfaces with The Dark Knight Rises on D3 Elements, a release that feels like opening a time capsule from the deeper corners of UK dance music history. Known for his work under aliases like The Dark Knights and Nemesis, Agbetu has long been part of a lineage that bridges soul, broken beat and classic house sensibilities. Here, a set of rare tracks—freshly remastered from original DAT tapes—gets a new life on wax, reconnecting past craftsmanship with present-day ears. It’s not just archival. It feels alive again.

The EP moves through warm, groove-led cuts like “I Do Believe” and “Party Time,” where dusty rhythms and rich chords carry that unmistakable old-school swing. “U Gotta Slow Down,” originally released as Nemesis, finally lands on vinyl, adding another layer to the story. There’s also a thoughtful rework from K15, who reshapes “Piece of Mind” into something more spacious and broken, without losing its core feeling. Released via D3 Elements, The Dark Knight Rises balances reverence and renewal, offering both collectors and newcomers a chance to tap into a sound that resonates deeply. Available on vinyl.

Shy One steps into a new chapter with Mali, her long-awaited second album on Touching Bass, and it feels like everything finally clicks into place. Named after her given name, the record carries a sense of arrival—personal, musical, and spiritual. Over the years, the London artist has built her voice through DJ sets, NTS Radio broadcasts, and releases on labels like Eglo and Rhythm Section, always moving fluidly across genres rooted in Black music. On Mali, those threads come together with clarity. The influence of pirate radio, broken rhythms, soul and jazz is still there, but now it feels more distilled. More hers.

Across ten tracks, Shy One leans into storytelling with a lighter touch and deeper intent. Collaborations with artists like George Riley, Steve Spacek, Private Joy and James Massiah add a wide range of possibilities. “Moonlight” glows with soft soul energy, while “16 Hours” captures the loose, hazy magic of late-night movement. Behind the scenes, the presence of Tony Nwachukwu on mixing duties helps shape a cohesive flow, while the Touching Bass platform gives the project room to breathe. Mali unfolds gently, guided by instinct and supreme taste, carrying the weight of experience with a calm, confident ease. Available on vinyl. One of THE releases of the year.

Ms Ray returns with MELT, a tender five-track offering arriving via Scenic Route Records. The elusive London artist has been quietly building a reputation for deeply personal songwriting since her 2020 release Wow is Now, music that drifts somewhere between soul, dream pop and hazy electronica. That atmosphere flows through this new EP, where soft synth textures and understated rhythms frame lyrics about love’s ability to overwhelm, comfort and undo us all at once. It’s music that feels made for quiet spaces, late evenings, slow mornings, or those rare moments when the world briefly softens.

Across MELT, Ms Ray leans further into her introspective style while broadening the palette. The standout single “Miss You,” featuring Nourished By Time, pairs her gentle delivery with his off-kilter pop presence, the two voices circling each other over hypnotic electronics. Elsewhere, the EP moves through subtle shades of R&B, trip-hop and minimalist soul, including the vinyl debut of “Signs,” previously heard on Scenic Route’s Road Less Travelled 2. The result is understated but emotionally vivid. MELT doesn’t rush to make its point. It unfolds slowly, letting Ms Ray’s melodies and thoughtful lyrics do that quiet work that you feel inside. MELT drops tomorrow and will be available on vinyl.

Italian producer Mirko Iobbi and saxophonist Sabatino Matteucci have officially joined forces as SNOMIR. Their new collaborative project has just dropped via Berlin’s esteemed Limited White Label. Titled LTDBLBL022, this limited vinyl release beautifully bridges the gap between live musicianship and club-ready electronics. The duo sets a warm, inviting mood right from the jump. The A-side features "Air" and "Fire," two jazz-inflected house cuts dripping with soul. Matteucci’s expressive saxophone lines float effortlessly over Iobbi's driving, kinetic rhythms. The result is an incredibly organic sound. It feels fluid, sophisticated, and perfectly engineered for a lively dancefloor.

Flipping the wax over, LTDBLBL022 takes a distinctly deeper turn. The B-side plunges listeners straight into the late-night abyss with "Caveman." Here, the duo trades their bouncy house grooves for a hypnotic dub techno atmosphere. Textured low-end frequencies anchor the track. Meanwhile, haunting sax riffs are woven seamlessly into the dense sonic fabric. It is a highly immersive, heady trip. The package is further rounded out by a stripped-back rework of the same track. This remix pushes the energy even further inward. It offers a raw and minimal vibe strictly for the after-hours crowd. Ultimately, this debut proves the duo can master both the warm-up and the deep comedown. Available on vinyl, for the heads.

Amsterdam’s rising multi-instrumentalist Misto Kay joins forces with Cologne-based saxophonist and composer Maurice Sax for the brilliantly crafted Jazz Vaults EP. Arriving via EVM128's essential broken beat hub, Dance Regular, this project perfectly captures the sweet spot where live jazz instrumentation meets underground electronic rhythms. While Kay’s 2024 debut cast a wide stylistic net, his latest output zooms in on the raw, unpolished energy of a late-night jam session. Driven by his jazz piano roots and Maurice Sax’s uplifting horn arrangements, the duo delivers a deeply energetic, dancefloor-ready sound. It is officially "Broken-o-clock," and the vibe is impeccably chill yet entirely kinetic.

The music itself paints a vivid, atmospheric picture. Take "Bossa Novinha," a track that rides a hypnotic, rolling bassline through lush chords and nimble guitar work. It carries a distinctly cinematic quality, sounding like a lost groove from a slick 1970s flick. Then there is "Jazz Rave Edition," a wicked little broken-beat flex oozing with soul. Here, dreamy flute melodies and live bass provide a sultry backdrop, while Maurice's saxophone serves as the crucial glue holding the rhythmic pocket together. Road-tested by the Dance Regular crew, this EP proves that organic musicianship still rules the club. It is a genuine treat for the heads, offering sonic pleasure that keeps you firmly on your toes. Available on Bandcamp.

(Liv).e & Karriem Riggins link up on The Pleasure Is Yours via LEX Records, and the result feels like a late-night jam that was always meant to happen. Performing together as GENA (acronym for God Energy, Naturally Amazing), the Dallas-born shapeshifter Liv.e and Detroit rhythm architect Karriem Riggins trade energy in a way that feels instinctive. Riggins, whose drums have powered sessions for Common, Erykah Badu, Madlib and The Roots, brings that loose, human swing that just tastes different. Liv.e floats over it all, her voice grainy and elastic, bending between jazz phrasing and experimental R&B in the same breath.

There’s warmth in the low end. Dust in the snares. Space between the notes. The Pleasure Is Yours pulls from soul, hip-hop and spiritual jazz without sounding nostalgic. It breathes. You can hear echoes of Sun Ra’s cosmic drift and the intimacy of neo-soul’s golden era, yet the record stays firmly in the present. LEX Records gives it the right frame, letting the duo’s analog textures and off-kilter grooves speak freely. As many of (Liv).e records, this one feels playful and innovative. She’s a creative cat and we became fans over the years. The Pleasure Is Yours is a groovy conversation in rhythm and feeling. And it lingers long after the last cymbal fades. Available in vinyl, CD and Cassette.

Rosie From The Block returns with Different on Natural Element, a three-track statement that feels intimate and assured. Based in Brussels, she’s been building her catalogue through a string of low-key but well-received EPs and collaborations, gradually shaping a sound that sits between broken beat, alt-R&B and forward-thinking electronica. On Different, that blend sharpens. The grooves lean off-centre, drums snapping and swaying rather than marching straight ahead. Classic funk warmth seeps through the synths, but the finish is modern. Clean. Intentional.

What makes this release linger is her touch with melody. Rosie uses her voice less as a spotlight and more as texture, folding it into the production like another layer of harmony. It feels personal without being heavy-handed. Natural Element clearly knows how to platform artists with depth, and this drop sets a strong tone for their year ahead. Different moves at its own pace, trusting the listener to lean in and stay awhile. Available on vinyl.

Finest Wear steps into 2026 with Good Vibrations EP on Minor Sounds, a release that feels like a natural continuation of his deep house doctrine. The London-born, Oxfordshire-based producer (real name Cenzo Scoglio) has long been a steady presence on labels like Nordic Trax, Large Music and Plastic City, carving out a sound rooted in warmth and restraint. Here, across four cuts, he leans into what he does best: groove-led journeys that unfold patiently. These are tracks built for different hours of the night. Early set mood-setters. Heads-down mid-session rollers. The kind of tunes that breathe.

There’s a quiet confidence running through Good Vibrations EP. You can hear the years behind the boards. Subtle chord work. Basslines that hum rather than shout. Rhythms that lock in without ever feeling rigid. As label head, Finest Wear uses Minor Sounds as a home base for his deeper explorations, and this latest drop captures that balance between underground grit and polished musicality. It’s dancefloor-focused but never predictable. The vibe is soulful, unfussy, and designed to connect. Exactly what deep house should feel like when it’s made with intention. Available on Bandcamp.

Stefan Ringer‘s Hymns Vol. 1, is now finally available in digital form. Long known for bridging Atlanta’s soulful and deep house lineage with broken beat and hip-hop sensibilities, Ringer treats this project like a scrapbook of dancefloor memories. Originally released by FWM Entertainment in 2024 as a limited vinyl only record, its copies are hard to find in the market. The quality of the productions in this is, no wonder, supreme. “ATL Sh*t” sets the tone with hometown pride, weaving in voices from the city that shaped him. It’s a nod to late nights, sweaty basements, and the community energy that runs through Atlanta’s DJ culture. That sense of place has always anchored his work, whether through his own imprint or collaborations across the global deep house circuit.

The EP moves with intention but never rushes. “Satisfy” glows with Ash Lauryn’s smooth vocals and plush chords that recall early underground classics, while “Crazy World” finds Ringer stepping to the mic himself, reflecting on modern chaos with calm resolve. On “Vision,” a link-up with Kareem Ali, the groove leans forward, warm and hopeful, rooted in jazz-minded keys and crisp percussion. Contributions from Divine Interface, Kai Alće, and Niyah round out the circle, making Hymns Vol. 1 feel less like a solo statement and more like a communal offering. It’s dance music with memory in its bones and gratitude in its pulse. Available on Bandcamp.

The UK underground is, as we know, always and forever alive and well. Our latest favorite project is Dreamer, a fresh collaborative project from the groove-heavy Don Surf and South London's Last Nubian. Amassed over a few years of casual studio link-ups, this self-released EP is a candid snapshot of the sonic space both producers currently occupy. They effortlessly weave through house, bruk, samba, and garage, creating a sound that feels distinctly British yet globally inspired. Last Nubian (real name Tre Wright) has already been making serious noise with his jazz-inflected broken beat releases on respected labels like Eglo and Tiff's Joints. Meanwhile, Don Surf brings his signature slick, UK funky and electronic deepness to the fold. Together, they blend their distinct influences into a musical journey that feels incredibly organic and relaxed.

“Feel Someway” eases you in with a steady groove before flipping expectations, Henry Weekes’ flute gliding over drums that subtly shift under your feet. Thandiwe’s debut vocal drifts in like a faded postcard. “Shining” brings Achanté back into the fold, her touch riding Latin-tinged percussion and soft modal keys. The title cut, crafted by Last Nubian alone, is all warm subs and hazy vocal fragments—pure club meditation. Then Don Surf reworks it with low-end menace, stripping it back and rebuilding it with dubwise intent. Across Dreamer, the duo sketch a candid portrait of their shared space: soulful, rhythmic, and unafraid to bend genres until they blur. Available via Bandcamp.

Kareem Ali leans into vulnerability on Renewal EP, a reflective and soul-soaked release for Noire & Blanche that feels both intimate and expansive. The American producer has steadily built a reputation for blending deep house with jazz phrasing and Afrofuturist spirit, often infusing his tracks with spoken word and emotional clarity. Here, that signature warmth is dialed in from the start. “Feel Everything All At Once” opens with glowing chords and gentle swing, setting a tone that is thoughtful but never heavy.

As Renewal EP unfolds, the rhythms grow more insistent without losing tenderness. “Procession” moves with hypnotic focus, while “On My Heart” carries a melodic refrain that lingers long after it fades. There’s urgency in “Wake Up My People,” its lift aimed straight at the floor, before “Want” settles into a softer, hopeful close. Released via Noire & Blanche, the EP captures Kareem Ali in transition, sketching growth in real time and inviting listeners to move through it with him. Available on vinyl.
