For years, Moyses dos Santos has been a familiar name behind some of the biggest voices in soul, jazz and pop, lending his bass playing to artists such as Nile Rodgers, Janelle Monáe, Gregory Porter and Omar. Now, through Far Out Recordings, he steps into the spotlight with Maria, a debut album that feels both deeply personal and remarkably expansive. Named after his mother, the record finds the London-based musician reconnecting with the sounds of North-Eastern Brazil, drawing inspiration from the rhythms, traditions and musical memories that shaped him long before his international career took off.

Sonically, Maria is an absolute trip. It perfectly blends the raw soul of his early church band days with traditional street rhythms. You will hear rolling batucadas, breezy sambas, and upbeat frevos. He then filters all of this through a slick, contemporary jazz and funk lens. Drawing heavy inspiration from bass legends like Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke, the grooves are seriously infectious. He also brought some heavy hitters along for the ride. Grammy-nominated trumpet star Theo Croker blesses the astral-jazz cut "Brazilian Spirit." Meanwhile, the iconic Brazilian maestro Arthur Verocai weaves his signature strings around Lynda Dawn’s divine vocals on the lush track "Saudade." It is a stunning, warm debut that brings cosmopolitan dancefloor energy straight to your headphones. One of the releases of the year - available on vinyl.

Lisbon-based producer roxo introduces his new label, create a new tempo, through no tempo left, a debut EP that feels playful, warm and abstract in a good way. Built around manipulated field recordings captured by Carolina Ribeiro, the release turns everyday sounds into something strangely emotional. Children's voices, bells and fragments of the outside world drift through "introgoo," setting the tone for a record that treats sampling less as a technique and more as a form of exploration.

no tempo left then shifts through shapes. "No time to choose the right sample" bounces between piano motifs and restless drum programming, while "undertempo" sinks into darker waters with heavy bass pressure and submerged atmospheres. "leftfield philosophy" blurs lines between experimental listening and off-kilter dance music. Throughout the EP, ambient textures act as the glue, holding together a collection of ideas that feels both intimate and unpredictable. It's an intriguing first chapter for create a new tempo and a promising glimpse into the producer’s world. Available on Bandcamp.

Via Tartelet Records, space beyond noise arrives just in time for the summer warmth and is an absolute masterclass in atmospheric sounds. After a decade of carving out their unique sound across various underground scenes, the pair found fresh inspiration in a rather peaceful ritual. While touring the globe - from Japan to Tunisia - they frequently sought out quiet botanical gardens to mentally recalibrate. This lush, environmental immersion serves as the very backbone of the album. By weaving subtle field recordings of wind, birdsong, and nature directly into the track transitions, they have crafted a vivid, lived-in sonic ecosystem. It effortlessly bridges the gap between deep club functionality and the rich, narrative flow of a long-form listening experience.

The twelve-track project is bursting with an open, mellow musicality. The rolling downtempo glide of "plune" beautifully unfolds into a honey-coated acid line. The woozy two-step pulse of "skum" reveals a softer, deeply assured touch. When the tempo needs to pick up, the duo delivers serious heat: swooning pads on "chrone" collide with a heavy electro-funk drive & "diras" locks into the groove with rugged basslines and sharp hip-hop cuts. Ultimately, space beyond noise is an expansive, restorative-sounding body of work. It is a wonderfully kinetic soundtrack built to move, no matter where your daily travels might lead. Available on vinyl.

The Trondheim-educated percussionist just dropped his anticipated debut album as a bandleader. Arriving via Purple Theory Records, Speak Volumes perfectly captures his visionary approach to rhythm. Sivathas spent years carefully simmering these ideas before finally bringing them to life. Now realized as a vibrant solo project, the record remains highly energetic and unpredictable.
Three decades into a career that has touched everything from Detroit techno and ambient to Balearic grooves and Latin jazz, John Beltran still sounds effortlessly curious. For his latest outing on Phuture Shock Musik, the Michigan producer delivers Coquito, a sunlit release that feels tailor-made for open-air sessions and slow summer evenings. Beltran first emerged in the early ’90s with the cult classic "Aquatic" on Carl Craig’s Retroactive imprint, before building an acclaimed catalogue through labels such as R&S, Peacefrog, Delsin and Ubiquity. That broad musical history echoes throughout this new project, where deep house foundations meet global rhythms with trademark elegance.

Now, he helms the eleventh installment in Phuture Shock's beloved 'DUBZ' series. The masterfully crafted two-track package perfectly leans into familiar Balearic territory while keeping the genre-bending spirit of both the artist and the label alive. It proves once again that his highly melodic, emotive signature style remains as sharp and consistent as ever. Side A delivers the title track, serving up a breezy, cowbell-laden slab of Detroit house beaming with soulful warmth. Its lively percussive patterns, dubby low end, and flickering keys will instantly transport you to the balmy heights of summer. On the flip side, "Piragua" completely switches the mood to an altogether downtempo affair. This summer night bliss features a beautiful sprinkling of Afro-Latin and West Coast flavors. It effortlessly blends shuffling samba percussion with low-slung hip-hop beats. Complete with jazzy piano chords and atmospheric ocean waves, it is a brilliantly smooth mix of Brazilian saudade and pure Motor City swagger. Some records feel like they arrive carrying their own sort of weather. That is the case of Coquito, now available on vinyl.

Some artists treat genres like fixed destinations. Divorce From New York prefers to treat them as connecting flights. On Jazzthetics, the San Sebastián producer glides between broken beat, house, nu-jazz and soulful electronics with an ease that feels completely natural. Over the years he has quietly built an impressive catalogue, while earning support from tastemakers across the world. That broad musical outlook is all over this record, which feels equally at home in a listening session or a packed dancefloor.

Jazzthetics is a masterclass in genre-bending, made from the imagination of Álvaro Granda who always show a knack for balancing detailed musicianship with raw, club-ready energy. This latest release leans heavily into organic textures and serious rhythmic depth. Rather than relying on one mood, Jazzthetics unfolds through a cast of collaborators and remixers who each add their own palette. The title track perfectly captures this spirit, featuring conversational rapper Sticky Dub riding a shuffled beat with undeniable swagger. Meanwhile, the party really heats up on "Soul Control," that earned a pair of distinct remixes. Legendary New York producer Ge-Ology delivers a deeply spiritual, jazz-infused Holy Ghost version, while Atlanta’s Stefan Ringer provides his own forward-thinking take. Heavyweight UK producer K15 also steps in to expand the sound with a future-minded interpretation of "Broken Heart." Just released via High Praise, this premium package turned our heads around. A highly immersive, soulful journey that connects atmospheric warmth with powerful grooves. Available on vinyl.

The Colombian producer is known for seamlessly blending complex jazz with club-ready basslines. Now, he is stepping up with his most ambitious project yet. He revisits his friends at Shall Not Fade, to deliver Tezeta. This highly anticipated album marks his seventh full-length excursion and it feels incredibly special right out of the gate. Rather than rushing to meet a deadline to release a record, he gave himself complete creative freedom. He recorded this music during a period of introspection and removed all rigid time constraints and self-imposed pressure. The result is a profoundly complete body of work and the kind of record that instantly feels timeless. It wraps you in a warm sense of familiarity from the very first listen.

The title Tezeta actually holds a specific, deeply emotional meaning. It refers to a traditional Ethiopian musical mode championed by Ethio-jazz pioneer Mulatu Astatke. The word translates roughly to a bittersweet sense of nostalgia, longing, saudade. Gordon beautifully weaves this exact feeling of affection and melancholy through every single track. He uses this soulful ingredient as a foundation for a diverse sonic palette. Throughout the journey, you will hear deep house, downtempo & hip-hop-ish moments, vocals pulling from indie music and dancefloor pop. These effortlessly rub shoulders with dusty breakbeats and moody trip-hop explorations. He deploys a vast array of instruments, analog synthesizers. Every 4/4 beat and chiming chord feels perfectly placed. Ultimately, he has crafted a truly immersive album.
There’s a smoky late-night feel to Kuzco’s Bound To Be, never staying in one lane for too long. Released through Energy Exchange Records, the Melbourne artist keeps pulling threads from different corners of club culture — street soul, ghetto tech, downtempo and Detroit electronics all rubbing shoulders in the same space. Kuzco has already been building serious momentum through her femme and queer-led party Soak, plus sets at Booty2Booty in Australia, and this release feels like another clear step forward. You can hear the influence of London’s ‘90s underground in the softer vocal textures and swung grooves, though the pulse underneath belongs firmly to contemporary Naarm dancefloors.

Bound To Be leans into her energetic and character. “What Could Happen” drifts beautifully with airy vocals and dusty rhythm patterns, while “Be Loved” pushes into tougher territory with saturated breaks and acidic bass pressure. The second half of the EP gets sweatier and looser. “Waaalk” and “Ha Ha Ha” flirt with electro and ghetto tech energy without losing that playful touch Kuzco carries throughout her productions. Remixes from Detroit’s Ladymonix and Black Moonchild add another perspective on that late-night weight, especially the latter’s hypnotic techno rework that sounds built for dark rooms and strobe lights. A proper heads-down release with heart in it. Available on vinyl, Bound To Be is a project we believe will inroduce this very interesting artis to wider audiences.

Toronto's underground veteran Sean Roman is stepping into a new era. Old-school drum and bass heads will remember him as Mutt. However, he has spent the last ten years smoothly shifting gears. He now champions a rich blend of deep house, UK garage, and disco, presenting a brand new full-length project titled Sweetboi. It just dropped on vinyl and digital via Lately Bass Records, and serves as a creative milestone and a deeply personal evolution for the Canadian producer. He beautifully channels decades of DJ experience into a fresh, modern groove. The record feels warm and hypnotic. It is expertly crafted for both solitary headphone sessions and packed dancefloors alike. Roman weaves in local field recordings from northern Ontario, which is an element that subtly gives the project an organic, lived-in atmosphere.

The music glides effortlessly between peak-time club energy and quiet introspection. The journey opens gracefully with the mellow, ambient textures of "Jo." From there, the rhythm simply locks in. "Batchewan Ridddim" serves up lush pads and swinging house drums. He also brings some serious local talent into the fold. Toronto MC RasThug injects commanding energy into the skippy 2-step cut "Move Fast." Later, the vibe plunges straight into the after-hours abyss. The stripped-back, low-slung groove of "Goin’ Up" provides the deepest moment on the wax. Finally, the breakbeat closer "Skylines" wraps things up beautifully with emotive vocals from anarose. Sweetboi perfectly distills his vast club knowledge into a soulful, forward-thinking statement. Available on vinyl.

T

Chicago's underground scene has a deep history. Veteran selector Dejay Cease continues to carry that torch. Operating under his alias The SouL Pops, he is famous for his eclectic sets at the Buddha Lounge. His productions naturally blur the lines between organic soul and driving club rhythms. Now, he makes his grand debut on Cataleya Music. He introduces his sound to the imprint with The Mask EP. This new release is a highly musical project, leaning heavily into his soulful influences and delivering a truly spiritual edge for the dancefloor.

The tracklist kicks off with a fresh spin on George Benson's classic, "This Masquerade." Trevor Johnson provides beautiful vocals over a classy soulful house groove riding on a highly impressive piano display. No matter the year we’re in, it’s a composition that feels like love. Moving forward, "Afro-Rican Jazz" shifts the energy. It pairs powerful, textured percussion with an infectious, key-led rhythm. Finally, the project rounds out with "Something About You." This closing tune wraps listeners in strong organ blasts and life-giving strings. Ultimately, The Mask EP is an absolute winner from front to back, available on vinyl all the way from Sweden’s Cataleya Music.

Melbourne’s underground has always had a soft spot for artists who blur the line between club music and live improvisation, and Horatio Luna new album on La Sape Records sits comfortably in that tradition. Six years after Yes Doctor (La Sape Records, 2020), ACTION REACTION is a record that feels more open, brighter around the edges and less tied to the late-night haze of his earlier work. Recorded across studios in Coburg and South Melbourne, the album folds together jazz phrasing, loose house rhythms and flashes of street-level intimacy, with voicemail snippets drifting through like memories caught mid-conversation.

Horns stretch out over funk-driven grooves, crystalline synths soften the corners, and tracks often shift between structure and spontaneity without warning. Horatio Luna has long explored that in-between space, but here it feels sharper, matured. As always, confident. Some compositions revisit older ideas from his catalogue, though now they arrive with more warmth and patience. The result is an album that works equally well through headphones or low-lit speakers, balancing dancefloor movement with the feeling of someone still searching in real time. ACTION REACTION drops this friday and will be be available on vinyl.

There is nothing subtle about 1905’s new record BUTT 2 BITE on Former City Records, and that feels very intentional. Built around chunky basslines, loose house pressure and low-end that lands somewhere between playful and physical, the six-track release moves with one clear purpose: movement and bodies first, thinking later. BUTT 2 BITE leans fully into that instinct. This is music that sounds happiest after midnight, somewhere warm, loud and slightly chaotic.

Still, beneath the cheeky attitude there’s craft in the way these tracks are put together. Bootybass pulses against housier rhythms, keeping things bouncy while holding enough grit for DJs to stretch into longer sets. Even the DIY details fit the mood. A Microsoft Paint sleeve, no polished branding, no fake mystique. Just a record pressed for booths, bags and sweat-heavy rooms where the funk still matters. BUTT 2 BITE knows exactly what it is and never wastes time pretending otherwise. Available on vinyl for the heads.

Amsterdam-based Cem Mo is releasing is debut vinyl titled What Remains EP on Metro Beirut Records. Drawing from classic Chicago and Detroit house, he is able to provide a fresh perspective of moods and tonalities. Born in Ankara and later relocating to Amsterdam, Cem Mo developed his style through jazz, improvisation and a growing fascination with rhythm-driven electronic music. That path has already led him to releases on labels like Handy Records and Rhythm Section, while his collaborative project Nowhere People found a home on Artisjok Records. Across this EP, those different influences settle into a deep, detailed sound focused on groove, movement and subtle melodic shifts.

The collaborations give What Remains EP extra depth without overcrowding it. Moritz Schuster’s sax work cuts through “Solitary” with a smoky unpredictability. On “The Hard Way,” Franco Corica helps steer things into soulful territory. Then Malik Kassim, formerly known as Retromigration, flips the energy with a remix that keeps the warmth intact while nudging the EP toward the dancefloor. It all feels connected, less like separate tracks and more like musicians passing ideas around a room late into the night. Available on vinyl.

Atlanta’s underground thrives on unexpected trajectories. Take Marquinn Mason, a multi-instrumentalist that shares an unpredictable warmth of the saxophone and MPC pads. Having toured 40 countries with jazz vanguard Kamaal Williams and anchored the weekly improvisational jam sessions at Gallery 992, Mason smoothly navigates the spaces between live instrumentation and club culture. His latest project, Offerings Vol. 1, acts as a vivid summary of this dual identity. Shifting away from his notable collaborative efforts alongside electronic mainstays like Stefan Ringer, this particular project arrives as an entirely self-released effort.

Across four tracks, Mason creates the space for a variety of moods. Everything breathes well together. Crisp, broken beat syncopations melt into deep house textures, providing a sleek backdrop seductive harmonies It carries a hazy, late-night hanging atmosphere. By operating entirely on his terms, Mason delivers a masterclass in independent curation. It is a brilliant glimpse into the mind of a musician who keeps pushing the boundaries of his electronic spectrum. All the way from Atlanta, Georgia - “Offerings” Vol. 1 is available through Bandcamp.

Ben Hixon has steadily shaped Dolfin into more than just a label, pulling together a loose network of players and collaborators around his warm, understated production style. That collective energy spills into this EP. Five tracks that drift between moods naturally, from the hazy downtempo atmosphere of “Break Up” to the stripped-back pulse of “Collect.”

Then the record stretches outward. “After Dark” picks up speed with a restless deep house swing that feels made for those blurry 3AM moments, while “Pleasure” carries a rougher rhythm and playful bounce. Rami’s presence adds texture throughout, helping the project move beyond a standard club release into something more fluid and cinematic. There’s a lived-in quality to SEE 2 IT that fits Dolfin’s wider catalogue well, music built with patience, soul and a clear love for spontaneous collaboration. Special release, available on vinyl.

He also spent his early days crafting gritty grime beats for local MCs like Novelist and Capo Lee. He also co-produced PinkPantheress’s massive breakout hit ‘Passion’. Now, he’s fully stepping into his own solo spotlight. He has just unveiled his debut studio album, POWERSCROFT. Released via Gilles Peterson's legendary Brownswood Recordings, this project is a massive personal milestone. It is affectionately named after the street in which he grew up on. The record serves as a beautiful love letter to the pirate radio eras and sound system culture that built his sonic foundation.

Sonically, POWERSCROFT is a highly textured journey through the diverse influences inside the producer's mind. The grooves effortlessly weave together nostalgic threads of jungle, broken beat, UK garage, and heavy dub. It completely captures the sweaty, unifying energy of a proper London dancefloor. Tracks like the lead single "Strike a Pose," featuring the captivating vocals of Camille Munn, provide a perfect taste of the project's soulful warmth. He also taps trusted, frequent collaborators like Reek0 to inject pure, electric freestyle energy into the tracklist. To celebrate the drop, he is currently taking these fresh sounds on a dedicated UK tour. POWERSCROFT is a bold, defining new chapter for an artist that we don’t know much about but has produced one of our favorite records of the year so far. Brilliant stuff, that is available on vinyl.

Stepping up to his own imprint, Soul Quest Records, Max Sinàl announced the release of his brand new Healing EP. The record is an intimate sonic diary charting his ongoing mental health journey. Naturally, his production chops are sharper than ever. He uses that expertise to craft distinct musical spaces for different emotional chapters. The project opens with "Reflection," a warm, Rhodes-driven deep house groove. It features soaring brass from longtime collaborator KingCrowney. "Maya" is dedicated to his daughter - a garage-inflected bumper balances dancefloor toughness with the grounding warmth of fatherhood.

As the record progresses, the sonic landscape shifts to mirror moments of internal struggle. The producer effortlessly pivots into West London broken beat territory on "Alone." Here, intricate rhythms and mournful vocal samples capture the heavy weight of isolation. For the title track Max Sinàl reunites with vocalist Liv East, following up their 2025 release Intentions. Their chemistry shines through once again blending her rich vocals with his signature soulful house bounce. All of very high standards of productions, very tasty, crunchy at times and available on vinyl.

For over a decade, Rio de Janeiro's 40% Foda/Maneirissimo label has been a powerhouse for leftfield house, quirky boogie, and experimental synths. Spearheaded by producer Gabriel Guerra, the imprint has always done things a bit differently. Now, they are officially bowing out with a massive milestone. They just dropped 40% Foda/Maneirissimo 100, a sprawling release featuring both real and imaginary artists from their tight-knit roster. True to their clever, humor-infused aesthetic, this final chapter serves as only the second compilation in their entire history. It acts as a direct, total inversion of their very first release. After all, the exact opposite of 100 is 001.

Any percentage past their original name would simply not make sense for the crew. Closing the curtain on this centennial drop feels like the perfect, poetic endpoint. The label expresses deep gratitude to everyone who walked this weird, wonderful path with them over the years. They cheekily noted that their ultimate goal was successfully reached, even if it was technically completed "almost by half." 40% Foda/Maneirissimo leaves behind an incredibly rich catalog of lo-fi grooves and experimental club tracks. More than showcasing their release, this feature pays homage to their entire catalog. 40% Foda/Maneirissimo 100 is available on CD.

Parisian beatmaker Arnaud Bernard, better known to the world as Onra, has officially returned with his newest project, After Dark. Arriving via his longtime home at AllCity Records, this completely self-produced album serves as the soundtrack to an imagined late-night film. The French producer of Vietnamese descent has spent the last two decades constantly evolving his sound. He has smoothly transitioned from the sample-heavy, MPC-driven hip-hop of his legendary Chinoiseries series into a true master of polished R&B and modern soul. This latest record picks up right where 2010’s Long Distance and 2018’s Nobody Has To Know left off. He zeroes in heavily on lush, late 80s and early 90s inspirations. Setting the mood perfectly, the lead single "Lap of Luxury" delivers a slick, nostalgic blend of instrumental hip-hop and smooth jazz that instantly draws the listener in.

Structured to unfold beautifully between dusk and dawn, After Dark explores quiet, introspective themes like urban solitude, intimacy, and distance. Bernard intentionally favors deep mood and narrative over any flashy excess. He achieves this by weaving analog synthesizers and tight drum programming with beautifully understated basslines. Selective live saxophone textures also add a stunning layer of depth to the mix. The sequencing itself is highly cinematic. It uses dedicated intro and outro pieces to frame the tracks as one cohesive night-time story. It has been over twenty years since he first emerged from the mid-2000s beat scene. After Dark is a highly immersive, mature body of work prescribed for attentive listening during the twilight hours. Availabe on vinyl & cassette.

Released last friday, Klin Klop’s Many Faces is a debut that feels alive in every sense. Behind the alias, Inês Meira brings years of classical violin training into a space that’s far less rigid. Evolving from a conceptual essay called "Fragments," this nine-track release acts as a vibrant mirror. It reflects the specific people, phases, and diverse influences that have molded her creative journey. The result is a blend of groovy house, intense rhythms. Expressive musicality is front and center on this one. It is a bold aesthetic signature aiming to guarantee that no one on the dancefloor is left standing still.

Recorded live at the iconic Porto’s Casa da Música and released via MAR Records, Many Faces leans into collaboration and spontaneity. Surrounded by a circle of musicians and vocalists from the city’s scene, Klin Klop builds something that shifts constantly. Grooves stretch, textures evolve, and voices drift in and out. Music that breathes, reacts, and invites you into the moment as it happens. Available on the streaming platforms.
