I missed this one back in March…Index Corp, the Japanese mobile content giant, is now making forays into the Chinese mobile content market. In March, it bought out Skyinfo Telecom Technology…Skyinfo is a big strategic partner of China Mobile, China’s largest mobile phone carrier. This should be a big exit for Lenova, the Chinese PC giant whose venture capital subsidiary Legend Capital invested in Skyinfo in 2004.
Index aims to capture approximately 20% of the Chinese market share in 2006, and about 25% in 2007.
