The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) and its educational and research organization, the ET Foundation, have opened for submissions the ETF 2027 Rick Merluzzi International Aluminum Extrusion Student Design Competition. The competition aims to challenge and empower the next generation of designers to consider how aluminum extrusions can shape a more sustainable world and improve quality of life. The 2nd edition of the International Aesthetic Design Competition (IADC2027) has opened for submissions. Hosted by the Department of Architecture at Alanya University in Türkiye, IADC2027 is open for entries and invites architects, urban designers, interior architects, academics, professionals, and professionally supervised student teams from around the world to participate in an international competition. The best works will be awarded with cash prizes, certificates, publication, and exhibition.

The La Guarimba International Film Festival is calling for short film entries for 2027 on any theme by filmmakers from all parts of the world. La Guarimba International Film Festival is seeking for Fiction, Animation, Documentary, Music Videos, Experimental, Dance Films and Children’s Animation of any nationality and language. The selection for 2027 will include around 170 films that will be selected to be screened at the festival and will be part of the competition. The best Fiction, Documentary and Animation films will each be awarded with 800 Euro and a trophy. The best Music Video and Children’s Animation will each be awarded with 300 Euro and a trophy. Trophies will also be awarded in all other competition categories.

LensCulture is hosting the LensCulture Black & White Photography Awards 2026, inviting participation from photographers from around the world. The competition is open for submissions and welcomes monochrome work, from classic darkroom processes to digital and experimental approaches. The Adachi UKIYOE Award is an international competition seeking artists to create new ukiyo-e for today. The Award is based on the traditional collaborative system of ukiyo-e production, in which the eshi (artist) creates the original design, the horishi (carver) carves the woodblocks, and the surishi (printer) prints the image. Contemporary artists are invited to take on the role of the eshi, bringing their own visual language and ideas to this centuries-old process. In its 18th edition, the first- and second-prize winners will create new designs with professional carvers and printers in Japan.
