Stocks Plunge on Economic Fears, Gold Hits Record High

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Turmoil returned to U.S. stock markets at Thursday's open as renewed concerns about the U.S. and global economies sent major indexes plunging and pushed gold to a new record high.
The Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) dropped 480 points, or 4.2%, after falling as much as 528 points. The S&P 500 (SPX) was down 54 points, or 4.5%; and the Nasdaq Composite (COMP) lost 126 points, or 5%.

All 30 members of the Dow were in the red, with Bank of America (BAC, Fortune 500) shares plunging 8%. Only three members of the S&P 500 were trading higher.
Investors had bad news hitting them from multiple fronts, including a dismal forecast from Morgan Stanley for global economic growth, and several economic reports that showed significant slowdown in the U.S. economy.
A gloomy report from Morgan Stanley renewed fears over a slowing global economic recovery. The investment bank slashed its global growth outlook for 2011 and 2012, adding that the United States and Europe are "hovering dangerously close to a recession."
Morgan Stanley cut GDP forecasts to 3.9% in 2011 and 3.8% in 2012, down from 4.2% and 4.5%, respectively. Growth will be particularly sluggish in developed nations, with GDP averaging an increase of 1.5%

TSA has defended the groping of a 6 year-old girl, saying it followed policy. Yet in Nov. 2010, TSA vowed no ‘enhanced’ pat-downs for children under 12.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) contradicted itself, even to the point of outright lying, in responding to controversy about a 6 year-old girl who received a groping pat-down AFTER already being sent through a body scanner. The video went viral after appearing on DrudgeReport.com and many other sites. TSA typically explained away this unnerving experience that left the girl in tears by arguing that the action is perfectly normal, follows all procedures and keeps us safe from terrorism, all, of course, in the name of ‘safety.’
You see, the TSA rationalized in its latest defense that, “terrorists are willing to manipulate societal norms to evade detection.” Thus, TSA would have it, we must abandon societal norms [and laws] like not touching children in their private parts, and instead subject them to pre-crime inspections. According to the logic, no women & children, little old ladies or men handicapped in wheelchairs or implanted with modern medical devices, no body cavity or private part is safe from extensive probing by the “guardians” in government.

You Tube Admits To Freezing View Count On Biden Impeachment Video

Youtube has admitted to freezing the viewcount on a viral video of Vice President Joe Biden that highlights the hypocrisy of the Obama administration as it engages in military aggression against Libya.
The video (below) dates from 2007 and shows Biden, then preparing for a presidential run, appearing on the Chris Matthews show on MSNBC.
In the video Biden is asked if he sticks by comments that bombing Iranian interests without Congressional approval would be an impeachable offense, to which he replies he absolutely does.
The video was posted at the top of The Drudge Report earlier today, a website that conservatively receives 36 million visits per day, making it the most highly ranked news website on the web.
Under the headline Could Obama be Impeached over Libya? Let’s ask Biden, the video has been drawing thousands of hits as viewers have drawn the comparison to the subversion of Congressional authority by Biden and Obama via US involvement in UN sanctioned attacks on pro-Gaddafi forces and buildings.

Media halts accurate reporting on Japan’s nuclear catastrophe

Almost as if on cue, the mainstream media today halted nearly all accurate reporting of the worsening situation in Japan, writing off the whole thing as a "non issue." This all happened in a seeming coordinate effort following President Obama's speech on Wednesday that urged Americans to NOT prepare for anything. The American people, Obama insisted, should simply watch television to "stay informed." (http://www.naturalnews.com/031735_O...) Shortly after, mainstream television news returned to its regularly-scheduled sports and entertainment programming, barely touching on the reality of the worsening situation at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan.

Nuclear experts that were on mainstream news channels two days are now nowhere to be found today. Scary (but accurate) news stories about Fukushima have now been all but completely banned from the MSM. The word from the top is clearly that media outlets should start downplaying this nuclear accident, which even now ranks as the second worst nuclear accident in the history of human civilization (right after Chernobyl).

The Asian media, for its part, simply started fabricating completely fictitious news. The press in China and Taiwan, for example, reported last night that grid power had been restored to the Fukushima reactor #2 and that the entire disaster had now been completely averted. This was a total fabrication: The truth is that power plant workers were pulled out of the area before they could even connect grid power, due to rising levels of extremely dangerous radiation near the plant.

Even if grid power were restored to reactor #2, that would not help reactors #3 and #4, where the really dangerous plutonium MOX fuel is stored. It's 2,000,000 times more toxic than enriched uranium (http://www.naturalnews.com/031736_p...).

And even if they could restore power to all the reactors, there's no guarantee that the cooling pumps will even work there. They were very likely damaged in the explosions and may not be functioning at all.

The Interweb is full of self righteous, deluded folk who consistently fail to accept any moral or ethical failing in the actions of their elected representation .The levels of denial and ignorance are off the charts these days in ordinary individuals and many so-called conservative pundits.
Now,Love of one's nation is good and healthy but in terms of America, the disproportionate blindness to her barbarity and cruelty over the generations is something to behold in people.
I have compiled below a small aggregation of facts that should stop any right thinking person in their tracks when it comes to ascribing absolute honor and purity to American policies and practices, in this case, all of them directed against American citizens at home.

Dr. D. Ewen Cameron, later of MKULTRA infamy due to his 1957 to1964 experiments on Canadians, publishes an article in the British Journal of Physical Medicine, in which he describes experiments that entail forcing schizophrenic patients at Manitoba's Brandon Mental Hospital to lie naked under 15- to 200-watt red lamps for up to eight hours per day. EU Dictatorship Takes Poland to Court for GMO Ban

The European Commission has announced it will refer Poland to the Court of Justice for maintaining its ban on GM seeds.

This is a new twist in the Poland/EC row over genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In December 2010, the EU court invalidated a EC decision prohibiting the ban on the grounds of procedural flaws.

Poland unilaterally adopted a law prohibiting the production, marketing and use of genetically modified animal feed in 2006. The EC has argued that a ban can only be introduced following independent risk assessment carried out by the European Food Safety Authority.

For 20 years I was a front man at the BBC, anchoring news and current affairs programmes, so I reckon nobody is better placed than me to answer the question that nags at many of its viewers — is the BBC biased?

In my view, ‘bias’ is too blunt a word to describe the subtleties of the pervading culture. The better word is a ‘mindset’. At the core of the BBC, in its very DNA, is a way of thinking that is firmly of the Left.

By far the most popular and widely read newspapers at the BBC are The Guardian and The Independent. Producers refer to them routinely for the line to take on running stories, and for inspiration on which items to cover. In the later stages of my career, I lost count of the number of times I asked a producer for a brief on a story, only to be handed a copy of The Guardian and told ‘it’s all in there’.
