The Reflect Table Detects Dominancy

This dominancy detector table is a well designed, sound-sensitive tool which can be implemented into businesses, organizations, sales departments and work environments that require strong communication skills and interactions. The tool, called the 'Reflect Table', is used to detect which employee talks the most and dominates company meetings by monitoring the conversation and visually displaying the input on the table's color LEDs. The microphones in the table 'listen' to the conversation, display which member is currently speaking and of course, which member speaks the most. A smart way to cultivate business meetings and companies-making them more efficient and helping employers look out for the chatterboxes in their midst. Not to mention bringing awareness to blabbing employees that say a lot without making any point. Makes you wonder-Do actions really speak louder than words?

The ARCA Launch for the Google Lunar X Prize

The Aeronautics and Cosmonautics Romanian Association (ARCA) has announced that it will be ready to launch it’s 92-pound rover called the European Lunar Lander within the the next few months. The objective of the launch is to float a balloon 11 miles above the sea, at which point a STABILO rocket will carry the payload to space.

Last year GOOGLE announced that it would be offering some exuberant amounts of money for the Lunar X Prize. There are several $5 million dollar prizes as well as the grand prize of $20 million, which ARCA is aiming for. In order to win the $20 million grand prize the ELL has to land, travel 500 feet on the surface of the moon, and send video, images, and data back to Earth.

Ikea Guerilla Marketing Stunt

Ikea have done an amazing job of creating a brand that everybody considers when needing good quality cheap and cheerful furniture. We don't even have Ikea in South Africa, but we're still well aware of the brand even without mainstream advertising.

This guerrilla stunt using balconies in Frankfurt, which were made to look like storage boxes, is a cracker. In Europe, where space is at a premium - your balcony really does turn into valuable storage space. In South Africa it's often regarded as a convenient location for laundry

Speaking to this growing eco-conscious lifestyle trend, this stylish bicycle basket doubles as a shopping basket.
Popgadget: This portable photo printer looks like a Sanrio lunch bucket for kids, which is perfect actually, as it gives off the impression of something light and easy to carry (which it is). The compact Canon SELPHY CP770 photo printer is one of the newer additions to Canon's SELPHY line of compact photo printers, and seems made for that person who is just so impatient to print photos that he/she must print while the party is still going on.

The actual printer is the top part of the bucket; the basket space is used to store your paper and other supplies. Comes with an A/C cable, but with an optional Canon battery pack, you can take this anywhere. When you're ready to print, you can either insert your camera's memory card into one of the slots on the printer, or print wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled camera phone. Maximum paper size is 4x8. Big buttons, large display for previewing your photos (2.5" TFT display), and automatic red-eye correction make this very user-friendly, even for grandma.

Have a Social Jam-Session with the Drum Table

Banging away on a musical table might just be the way to enhance your social life. The Rumba Series created by 'Musical Furnishings' allows you to design your own drum table with "interchangeable and rearrangeable percussion inserts" so that you can have a musical bash with a bunch of people sitting around a table.

Musical Furnishings is definitely on to something-perhaps an innovative type of group therapy or simply a spicy new way to connect with your family and friends. A refreshing alternative to petty chatter and small-talk, it can also help you develop some rythm skills. Which is why I can clearly see drum-table jam sessions becoming the next social trend. Bye Bye Scrabble?
