Coco Tulum

I spent a week in the beautiful Tulum, Mexico. I stayed at an eco chic resort called CoCo Tulum where electricity is run by solar and wind power. At first, I was a little skeptical about going to such a rural resort. The bathrooms were shared and toilet paper could not flushed. Air conditioning came from the open breeze through the windows.

To my surprise, it was one of the most amazing places I have been. Little thatch roof huts lined the beach, and hammocks swung in the wind. Orange flowers laid delicately down the sandy path and the smell of sweet paradise was everywhere.

The bedroom was a modern design of white sculpted architecture with big canopy over the bed. The ceilings were so high (thinking at least 20 feet). The most glam thatch roof hut I've ever been in. The attention to detail at CoCo was immaculate. Conch shell faucets in the bathrooms, pink netted hammocks, and stunning exotic landscaping around every hut.

After spending a week here, it made me realize how little is necessary to be happy. Going back to the basics of no air conditioning, and solar power was actually awesome. It was eco friendly, but completely comfortable. Everyone at the resort became apart of the environment- which I loved. Being apart of nature so closely every day was not only beautiful, but healing. Yucatan birds woke me up every morning with the sounds of their chirps, it was like nature's alarm clock.

Another amazing thing about Tulum was the exercise. Everywhere I walked- to the bathrooms- the the beach chairs-to the restaurant-swimming in the ocean- back the the hut- back down to the beach. Moving was inevitable, and I actually lost weight in the week I was there. Instead of having to go to a gym everyday, nature took care of that for me!!!

I sometimes wish I lived a simple island life everyday, not just on vacation. I'm basically going from one jungle to another. I'm headed in August to live in the concrete jungle of New York City. At least I have this little oasis to escape to every once and awhile. A piece of nature. A piece of heaven.

A hat for every side of the city...

I never used to be a hat person. I've been accumulating hats in my closet over the years, but wore them very rarely. One day (last Wednesday to be exact) I randomly realized how fabulous hats were and how perfect they are for the city--- now I am hat obsessed!

Since I will be moving to New York in August to study college at Parsons The New School of Design (yes it is true-I'm a Parsons Girl-and freaking out with excitement) it is the perfect opportunity to categorize a few of my favorite hats to different area's of the city.

That's when I came up with the oh-so catchy MAN-HAT-TAN title, pulled out my tripod and camera, played some music, and filmed a video. I hope you enjoy it!

Sports Couture

I finally have a fitness post for you!!! Yay! I've been meaning to do this for awhile, but let's just say I prefer taking blog pictures in high heels (duh, heels are fabulous).

Onto the topic of fitness. I get tons of questions from readers asking about my exercise routine, what I wear to the gym, and how I eat.

Well... it's pretty simple. I've grown up eating healthy. From birth to 16 yrs. old, I ate tons of fruits & veggies, and only white meat. Then, at 16 I decided to go Vegetarian (I thought, why not?). I wanted to be healthier and started to do research on the food industry. Then a few months later, I went Vegan!!!

Now, I am 18 and currently back to being Vegetarian. After experimenting with a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle for the past 2 years, I've come to the conclusion to not "label" myself with a term, and just create a balance that felt right for me. My diet consists of 90% fruits/veggies 10% diary. Most days, I am full on Vegan, but once and awhile cheese on a salad, or a cookie that contains egg won't hurt (that's where the 10% comes in).

As far as exercise, I've done Ballet for 11 years. It is the best sport a woman can do to tone her body in my opinion. I was a serious dancer, going to class 5 days a week, point shoes and all. After I went to high school, I started getting more serious in other things, and didn't have time to dedicate to Ballet anymore.

So, now I work out around 3 days a week (fitting it into my schedule as best I can). I'm all about living a healthy lifestyle!!! And of course... wearing chic things during the process!

Onto sports couture, when at the gym you want to look good and feel confident. I don't like to spend a lot of money on my workout attire (I'd prefer to splurge on sundresses, or purses... or shoes) sooooo, I shop at Forever 21. They seriously have the cutest workout clothes for the best price!

I put together a few looks of what I wear to the gym. Neon is key- the brighter the better. My polka-dot gym bag, pink Nike sneakers (feels like I'm walking on clouds), a Juicy Couture bracelet (because it's just the perfect touch), and my Fiji water (trendyyyyy and pretty packaging).

Happiness is Expensive

It was an absolutely stunning day outside today. Wanting to enjoy the weather, my mom and I headed over to Highland Park Village in Dallas. It's the perfect place to shop, while still being outside.

We heard of a new cafe called Number One and decided to go check it out. The interior was so interesting with an Urban Zen vibe. We went for, what we thought was, fresh squeezed vegan juices. Only to be disappointed with a packaged Vim + Vigor juice poured from the bottle into a glass.

It was green... and tasted like dirt.

The whole juicing thing is super trending right now. I thought, perfect- a juice bar where the job is done for me. Sadly, $8.00 for an 8-ounce cup of green kale juice (that isn't even fresh squeezed) is just not okay.

But in total contrast, the atmosphere was nice- a lot of 'namaste' going on in there. Just to sit and enjoy someone's company in the loft style space was relaxing. Everything about the cafe was amazing and the rest of the food on the menu looked great. I would definitely go back again.

Next time, I'll be sure to try the tea... just not the green juices.

I was shopping at the mall (as usual). Passing by the Juicy Couture store, this dress caught my eye in the window. I got distracted by all the accessories and pretty things that I forgot to take a second look at the dress and left without it.

More shopping continued from store to store. I ended up going crazy in the hat department of Nordstroms. For some reason, I felt the need to buy two new hats... they were so adorable I couldn't resist. A little pricy... but just to cute to ignore.

Sooooo, after full circle of the mall, and a few purchases at ZARA (which I wasn't trying to do... oops.. couldn't resist again), I ended up back in front of the Juicy Couture window.

The dress, there it was with my name all over it.

Running into the dressing room, I slipped it on, and voila!!! So perfect. So mine.

Needing to photograph this beauty pronto, I headed to the yellow field of flowers (new hat included). Snap, snap some pictures running through the field, skirt blowing in the breeze, it's a blog post.

A few weeks ago my friend Nicole and I styled ourselves and drove up to a rooftop parking garage to take pictures. I was inspired by my new sneakers from Topshop (found in L.A.) to create a very all american girl look. It's the perfect time to post with Coachella going on right now as well. When dressing for summer, I think crop tops, aviators, mini shorts, and denim.

The (henna) tattoo is the perfect touch to this free spirited look. I styled my hair with my Didact Clip-in Fringe from Paris. Simple winged liner on the eyes and a dusty rose lip color finishes off the look.

Today was such a stunning day! Everything is blooming and the weather feels like spring time. I'm wearing my new pants that I found the other day at Forever 21. They have a very "menswear" feel to them. I bought them two sizes larger than usual because I wanted a slouchy, low-hip rise look. For the price, the quality is amazing and the fabric is perfect. Keeping it simple, I wore a tight fitting tee with a hat and shades. I'm also sporting a "henna" tattoo (don't worry nothing permanent).

One of my favorite suits... the high-waist retro bikini. You've seen it before, but I'll show you again!! H&M came out with this collection last year- it's so beach chic! I spent the weekend in South Beach, Miami with my friend Elise. Sunbathing, swimming, people watching, naps on the beach, pineapple pizza (too much of it), and beach soccer with French boys. A good time is always inevitable in South Beach!

How amazing are these shoes?! Leave it to BCBGeneration to do it again. The orange suede lining looks so elegant against the clear and metallic pointed toe!!! Ready for spring, I wore my trench coat today. I paired my white ripped capri's and a simple necklace (found in a cute boutique from London). I love this trench so much because I can throw it over anything, add a statement heel, and I am good to go! I actually found this trench in ZARA Sweden, and whenever I wear it, memories are brought back from that day.

Beanie Gone Vogue

Beanies with veil's have been a huge trend lately and I am completely obsessed! The veil adds the perfect feminine touch to the slouchy hipster-style beanie. I decided to customize my own adding a piece of sheer black fabric to my hat which I got from Urban Outfitters. Going for a relaxed look, I added my ZARA peplum jumpsuit, but dressed it down with converse sneakers. This outfit could easily be dressed up with a pair of heels making it so versatile.

I've had this jumpsuit in my closet for a while now; it's so chic and elegant- the new little black dress. ZARA never fails, every time I walk in their store I always manage to find something timeless.

Tea, Scones, & Double Deckers

After visiting London, I keep asking myself "Why haven't I traveled here sooner?" I had the most amazing time; between Fashion Week, high tea, and night's out at Upper West... I couldn't have asked for a better trip. Every place I travel to, I fall in love, but there was something about London that just clicked... maybe it was the adorable accents from the British boys, or the double decker buses (which are so fun to ride in). I can't wait to go back!!!

The first week I spent wandering the city, exploring everything with my danish friend Luisa. It was such an adventure because everything was new to us. We drank tea probably seven times a day and ate way to many cucumber sandwiches. We went shopping at Harrods, and enjoyed high tea at Cafe Liberty (inside the Liberty of London store). It was so exciting to finally see Big Ben and London Bridge. I've always seen pictures throughout my life, but it was nice to experience it in person.

The second week I spent with Lizzy (a local to London). She showed me around her city and how she takes on London. We walked around Portobello having lunch at an adorable cafe looking over the entire street, Friday night spent on Kings Road, manicures at Nailberry, movie night with friends at home, and of course... tea, tea, and more tea.

A black dress never fails. I knew to pack my dress to London because it always come in handy... little did I know I would be attending London Fashion Week wearing it!!! LFW was held at Somerset House where my friend Lizzy and I attended the events (spur of the moment). Picking out what to wear is always the most challenging thing... especially when living out of a suitcase! I wanted to dress simple, chic, and elegant. So, I did dramatic cat-eye makeup, a diamond necklace, faux fur shall, and maroon heels! Everything turned out perfectly and the day was filled with memories I'll never forget!

London Fashion Week

I was in London on vacation for the past two weeks exploring the city and having fun with my friends. I knew London Fashion Week was going on, and decided to go check it out. Lizzy and I dressed for the occasion looking chic ready to take on the chaos of LFW. It was a whirlwind day of excitement, pictures, paparazzi, and of course, stunning designer exhibitions. We spent time in the courtyard of Somerst House taking pictures (as well as being photographed). It was definitely a day to remember!!!

I've always been in love with Wildfox Couture and finally made my first purchase! I saw this blouse with the most beautiful rose graphic (and we all know I have quite the obsession with flowers) I had to have it! My white denim jeans were a perfect match to the look. I added my own little touch by cutting the jeans up myself with an exacto-knife (a very easy DIY).

Sometimes it's the smallest, most simple things in life that make you smile. This little mustache necklace is just adorable and fun! I wasn't really looking for new jewelry, but I got transfixed in the accessory department at Forever 21 (as usual). Hanging delicately, was this whimsical mustache (which seems to be quite trendy in the fashion world lately).

I'm having a relaxing Monday in my white bedroom [which used to look like this- but I recently re-decorated it]. Wearing silk cheetah shorts and a cami... I'm lost in my fluffy cloud-like bed, sipping tea, and wandering the web.

Didact Paris

While I was in Paris during the month of November, I stopped by the Didact Hair Building for their famous "clip-in" fringe. I've always wanted bangs, but never brave enough to have my hair cut that short!

Firstly, I am greeted at the door to a cozy atmosphere and dimmed lights. The receptionist takes our coats as my friend and I head up the spiral staircase to the salon room. The women are dressed in black, and the men in suits with bow ties (so chic). I sit down in the chair and start my consultation with the hair stylist. We discuss fringe options such as how short, thick or thin, etc. I go for a classic style cut just below the brow. Now it's time for color.

Another hair assistant comes over to discuss dyes (all while I'm sipping warm tea, and reading Vogue magazine- so relaxing). She is a master at color, with a few looks at my hair, she is off to mixing dyes.

The process is quite in-depth with a custom color, cut and style, and takes about an hour to complete. The fringe is made with real human hair and has three clips on the back to attach with. After lots of cutting and blowdrying of the bangs (to get them in perfect position) it is time to put them on. The stylist parts my hair in the middle, teases the back with a brush, and then slides on the fringe. Three easy steps and voila... it's finished!

I have been wearing my clip-in fringe everywhere and no one ever knows they are faux! The color is perfect and the shape is adorable!!! The Didact website has all different fringe styles to choose from- and only 65 Euros! I'm so happy to have found Didact, and can't wait to go back!

I graduated high school early on Friday and headed straight to the beach to celebrate with my friend Elise. Our days are spent relaxing on beach chairs, jumping in the ocean waves, and napping under the warm sun. I'm wearing a black and white polka dot bikini paired with a neon chunky knit, my converse, and of course a beach tote! It's a casual look perfect for the easy going vibe here in Boca Raton, Florida.

We had so much fun shooting these pictures running around crazy on the dock (Elise's photo skills are awesome). Ending the day on a good note, we watched surfer dudes ride the waves as the sun set, sipping on coconut water.

Accepted into Parsons School of Design!!!

I've been accepted to Parsons School of Design!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be attending in Fall 2013 freshman year in New York City! I am completely and utterly ecstatic, as well as proud, to say that I am going to attend college here. Parsons is one of the top design schools in the country, with a history of creating legends in the fashion world.

When I received my acceptance letter, I burst into tears (of joy) reading the news. I can't wait for school to start in September!!! In the meantime... I will be finishing up my senior year of High School, then bon-voyage for some traveling in celebration!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I couldn't believe it when I heard Texas was going to get snow for the holidays- until I looked out the window! Truth be told, it snowed in the always sunny Texas.
