It started with pressure sores; actually it started with someone accidentally shooting me in the back, paralyzing me from T-9 Down in my place of business. After the fact I always had extreme spasms and pain, The Spasms cause my legs to draw in resulting in more pain and spasms so I let them hang off the couch forcing me to lie on my side, swapping from L side to R side while in the seated position, It felt better in that position.. Drs Doctors didn’t know my hip bone/joints were infected until it was too late, and had to be removed, leaving a large indention on the left side. The right side healed, but the left side sore/incision won’t heal because of the indention. Sitting up without pain allowing me to be more productive is my goal, and Working out and working again. I’m 50 yo now; this was about 8 yrs ago. Would you help me?

I still haven't figured out what job I can do now to earn money. I been banging my head against the wall. between the pain, spasm, sores and body shutdown all I can do is rely on my blog, pennies of income I earn isn't enough. I Go to Wound care Tomorrow. Its a tough job. People don't like to see or here me complain. I was the opposite of complaining before I was shot. I made things work. Now it's almost impossible to enjoy life. I have no hip joints to help me situp without causing so much pain. My business was my life. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now. Staying alive is my first goal then try to build, create something that makes me happy and wealthy. I'm back to starting with nothing, but with more obstacles and less time. Extreme spasms, sores and pain make it much harder. I don't know who will help push me up this time. I have no customers, unless my old customers remember me from: J.R. Lock and Key. The spasms are horrible, causing my lower extremities to hurt. You ever get tired of people telling you to be positive? I was shot and paralyzed. I don't know anyone that wants to be paralyzed and live with extreme spasms, sores and pain. I may never get the help I want. If I had lots of money I could make people take notice. I'm sleeping more than usual and my legs hurt like hell but.. If I don't feel sorry who will? I quit for now. Back to one day at a time 11-16-11 I'm Looking for special treatment. "Extreme spasms are ruining my life" I have extreme spasms and sores that won't heal. Pain from nerve damage. I need treatment, in hospital monitoring, one week minimum. I've suffered enough and deserve this. I'm a human being with feelings, and a family that needs me. On day I'm going to help someone somehow. I helped a lot of people when I was practicing professional locksmithing. 14 yrs and I tried it in my Wheelchair, but the spasms and pain wouldn't allow me to continue. The man who paralyzed me didn't realize the consequences of that little bullet.....
Enough damage to paralyze me but leave enough feeling to torture me, Its a unique tare. I took pride in what I accomplished, Something I was good at, Running my own business, I want to cry sometimes but I cant help myself if I'm crying and not fighting this. If your from Tuscaloosa, Alabama back in the 80s & 90s you would remember me. They called me J. R. If the people that owe me when I left could pay, I would appreciate it. I have to many obstacles in my way. I fought with all I had, and I'm getting old so my body can't fight back therefore my sores stopped healing. I can't make these special drs understand because they dont understand what they weren't taught. In depth. Someone thats paralyzed but still feels to much, but not enough to move my lower extremities, making every twist and turn extremely painful, electricity pulsing through my body causing extreme spams and pain. I can feel the food digest multiply it x 10 equal pain & extreme spasms. Not to mention the sores. I spasm to touch. I'm working on a letter or post that explains every little detail means so much. Money could motivate a lot more specialist and other ppl, if death don't come calling I still have a chance to relax one day.
I just started writing and this is my first blog. Time is poison for the cripples. I want back on top. Sasms, pain and sores are hell bent on killing me. We'll see. @jeffreylramsey

Its not looking good. You would go into shock if you woke in my condition, the body will fight even without limbs, I still have mine, but no hip joints. I'm careful not to let them fall off lol. I fight and fight some more. According to blood test and wound care results It may be my time to slowly die because my body wont heal itself anymore. I don't want that. Dammit I fought and prayed. Another Chapter in my life. If I didn't have SCI complications, Sky and beyond, no limits for me. Complications include extreme spasms, pain and sores. The Dr said this is good as it gets, A slow death sentence? Has It stopped me so far, Hell no. My food gets stuck every week. I believe its called
slow intestinal transit. Doesn't matter what I eat and drink. I can live on insure for a week, but very little improvement. I've never seen a case like this. I need to be studied more Tc

Its very uncomfortable and painful. I have it 90% of the time. This horrible feeling inside multiplies due to spasms causing pain and bloated feeling. I enjoy the small amount of time pain is down, but never completely #0. I enjoy hanging with my family, I can't be very constructive and productive. it gives me opportunity to talk to my family. Eating out and barbecue at home is off limits for me. I dont digest food like I did before the accident. Can I turn this shooting into a positive? Everything happens for a reason, free will or karma Which one is it? I'm greatful the bullet didn't kill me. I'm stopping, the pain won for now, this is ridiculous, Be back later.

Bone infection almost killed me. I'll comment about this infection that almost killed me, and I continue to have pain in both hips. If I can keep fighting to live why do folks kill themselves without thinking it through? Dont do that. Maybe you could use me. I get depressed too
I'm trying to create a new and better way. I or anyone else shouldn't die with a horrible ending. I know we have to write our lives. I know it involves a lot of work, I had a successful business because I worked hard. I'm working hard now, the pain is overwhelming or I wouldn't be laying here telling you this. Thank you for supporting my site. Social media and business people for returning the favor. I'm a firm believer in supporting people that support me. Its just good business, I miss my business. September 2nd 2011: Nurse made special visit to my home today, took blood and urine. I'm scared of results. My complications are almost to unbearable. Dr said this is good as it gets for now. you have to be slowly dieing to understand. its slow and painful but its still worth hanging on for life. I want to thank my Doctors for literally keeping me alive. Its the specialist that didn't know what to do, that's stopping my progress until I find the right match. Maybe a money issue? O course. This is why I put myself out there. I want to be seen and heard. If you don't ask you want receive. Sometimes you have to keep pushing and pushing.

Pressure Sores, extreme spasms and pain feels like it's killing me. Is there medicine out there for pressure sores that actually helps? I already consume plenty of protein. I have pictures and video of my sores going way back to giant holes to almost healed. At this time they want improve, About 1" in diameter but stable. Do you know of any medicine to speed up the healing process? Its been Two yrs without any improvement. Its my only hope then I'm able to live a better life without sores, infection, stopping me and they will. I need to be able to setup more often to take better care of myself. If I can find medicine and document from now until the sores are healed this will change peoples lives. A giant breakthrough could happen. I need to stay strong, I have kids and family that care, I'm sorry that a man playing with gun would ultimately change my life and cut off all the money I needed to care for them, back then and now. I let everyone down. I know it wasn't my fault, but I still let them down. Its hard to live with that. If I could be more productive I would, I'm trying when the pain, spasms and sores will allow. If you are paralyzed and have similar problems let me know. I learned that you cant fight the spasms as hard as I did. I ended up dislocating my hip joints. Because my baclofen pump malfunction and the pump Dr didn't know what to do. He Tested the pump by forcing baclofen through the tube/catheter and I felt my body relax. It only lasted about an hour then my spasms came back. He says nothing is wrong. WHAT? I know I couldn't believe his lack of care either. I'm suppose the stay relaxed, like It did in the past when the pump and catheter was operation normally. He wouldn't replace the catheter like I suggested. Hes thinking it wouldn't help. I'm for Stem Cells. I need help. What do I have to do, short of dying? Enough is enough. I suffered long enough. I earned respect & want that chance to live a productive life. Do I have to be Wealthy?
Being Wealthy would help me and others get special treatment, Save lives. I know the system. I paid taxes all my life and would love to work again, and pay again. Its one of reasons I'm blogging, other reasons is to help with my mental status and help. My sores want heal, that's why I cant have surgery now. Dr says cross contamination could lead to bad infection, and worst case scenario, die from it. Money could be a hidden issue also. It started with Spasms and pain then led to sores that wont heal. How do I handle all this, it isn't easy. Don't let the Doctors tell you no to treating your pain, you know when your in pain, they don't. You cant be productive without treatment if your pain is chronic. I learned you have to live with some pain, but your body cant handle it all the time, you'll never get anything accomplished. (But Please don't OD on your medicine) Pain is up now, Ill be back later. I'm back; July 18. I think I can help others, Let me get through this horrible period. You ever get that feeling you want to give up, Don’t is what I tell myself. I’m sick right now. Food or combination of spasms, pain, sores. I cannot find the right combination of food; vitamins’ muscle relaxers and my body doesn’t digest food very well. The nerves in my stomach, colon especially when I’m full causes increased spasms and pain. The pain meds don’t help when this happens. You have to change your diet and consume more fiber, and not over consume. I’m having a hard time with this, pain from it is horrible, plus the sores and nerve damage. My pain, spasms and sores, and lack of writing skills won't allow me To stay on a subject long enough to earn the respect I deserve. I had followers before I was shot. Calling me and coming in my store for my Locksmith services. Since I can't practice anymore, all I'm able to do is write until pain, spasms, and bed sores won't allow. A short period of time. I did all the writing on my blog and I'm proud I made it this far. Coping with SCI complications is extreamly hard for many. Not all paraplegics can play wheelchair basketball. Some can't even do what I did here. I'm fighting to save my life and my story could benefit others as well, with simular complications. My central ac froze up today. I had to get up and thaw it out, OMG it hurt. I learned growing up how to help myself. I was a jack of all trades but master of one. :-) Please click through Amazon and help me. The Jury didn't want to give Casey Anthony the death penalty, I understand that, but?....So they had to aquit. They Jury neglected to use common sense after the judge instructed them to. Whats your opinion on this? I'm in pain from SCI complications and this doesn't help. Why am I'm so upset with this verdict? Caylee Anthony will be missed.

Went to Hospital today! Dr. visit at DCH wound care Tuscaloosa. Dr and I agreed on a procedure called debridement, painful afterwards, a scalpel is used to remove dead tissue or other debris from the wound. Best to do it often, Deep sores that don't respond to debridement other therapy may require skin grafts or plastic surgery that may not take. I ask him why won't my sores heal? He Said "Because my spasms are to extreme" That came from the doctors lips. I enjoy talking to my Doctor and his Nurse. If it wasn't so painful I would go out and write more often. Dont ever stop asking questions, You need to learn all you can about living with Spinal Cord Injury and the Complications, A little decrease in spasms and pain goes a lone ways torward living a better quality of life, Life is so short :-)

I'm Having horrible days! I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Not even the man that shot me. Pain, spasms, constipation, Diarrhea and sores. I dont know what treatment would help me. I got out there and tried before my Dad died. My primary Dr. God bless him is doing all he can. He sent me to specialist and none of them would help because what Mangieri wrote in my records, that was about 7 yrs ago.No doctor around here would help with my baclofen pump, cause I had trouble with it and Dr Mangieri. I wrote him a letter trying to get him to help with the pump problem. He said nothing was wrong. I was relaxed when it worked correctly then my body stiffen up, and it never worked correctly since. He fired me because I told him how I felt. I dont think I'm better than anyone. He couldn't handle the truth. I gotta go, in pain. Thank you for your reply s in Getglue, Twitter and Facebook

Things to do to prevent sores, paralyzed folks will need medical care for the rest of our lives, Pain makes its more difficult, Don't abuse your medication you could die

Check your skin carefully in the morning and in the evening
Frequent pressure reliefs (every 15-20 minutes!)
Properly fitting equipment, including your wheelchair, cushion, mattress
Having a seating evaluation by an specialist in SCI care, including a computerized pressure mapping
Protect your skin during daily activities (Are you transferring safely? Do you have any heavy seams on your clothing that might cause pressure? Are your footrests positioned properly?)
Good nutrition, including recommended amounts of protein, vitamins and minerals
Good hygiene, including keeping skin clean and dry
Drink plenty of water
Do not smoke, use drugs, or alcohol
Consider supplementing
Control (not necessarily eliminate) spasms
I Acquired this information from experience, Learning the hard way and other sites on the internet

Don't abuse your meds. Its your responsibility to take as prescribed. If you don't you could die.

Don't blame your doctor because you were careless. I don't know about you but I had to be monitored for months and couldn't take more than prescribed in that month. That was 4 or more years ago. If you need more than prescribed you may not be able to handle the responsibility. I have less pain with meds but still have pain all the time. You have to live with some pain, and not increase your dosage every 6 months, maybe never, thats to soon anyway. Have a limit set thats safe and never go over the limit, you may not wake up. If you have to go over then you may need surgery. I wish I knew of a surgery that would help me. I'm ready now. I would rather have a cure. If you know a Doctor that can help with nerve damage. I'm trying to help myself so I can help others. I started this blog-site a few years ago from scratch. I'm no writer, I made Ds in English. This is a challenge for me. I been writing, uploading pictures when my pain will allow me. I'm afraid I will be dead before I find a specialist that can help me and others with

similar conditions. My doctors are keeping me alive as long as possible and I'm grateful, but their has to be more help out there. I tried the baclofen pump, It worked good for a few years. My legs were relaxed I could stretch out, lay on my stomach. I had some sexual function, pain wasn't as bad. I was productive until the pump catheter malfunction... My legs started drawing in and my body below the injury was rigid. I would get high doses of baclofen/morphine two days a month and sleep for almost a day, and throwing up sick. My body would go back to relaxed but It wouldn't stick. The next day I started stiffing up. I was told nothing was wrong with the pump/catheter. I disagree. I think replacing the catheter would have fixed it. Loosing weight, movement, many reasons for malfunction, but No Dr Would touch it. I don't know if it was a money issue, ignorant or didn't care. I still have the pump implanted, but its been empty for 5 yrs now. I had to self medicate until my primary doctor stepped up. Not one Pain care doctor would really listen or help, all they would do is see me and happily take the tax payers money, no help with the pump or anything. I would leave more depressed, confused, in pain and angry. I have extreme spasms, sores and my pain level goes up and down because my spasms are so severe. I have a sore next to my butt bone. Its stuck to the bone and the scab breaks open when I move, its Been like that for years and want heal. Any suggestions? I'm a isolated case. I'm begging, I'm working for a better quality of life.. Spinal Cord Injury, No injury is the same. Some patients have more spasms, more pain and unable to be more active. Some have thick skin, thin skin and breakdown faster resulting in bed sores. To avoid more complications is Especially hard when your in pain 24hrs 7 days a week. Special Doctors, medical products, people helping you and Pressure relief to avoid skin breakdown, all easier said than done. You have to learn, be your own Doctor, nurse and therapist for your type of injury. Harder to accomplish unless your rich. Yes! money can buy you the help you need. I can compute, it causes more pain but gives me some advantage. Some people cant. Being able to work would help me emotionally and physically. Its so hard for me to work on my site. Just thinking, sitting up hurts, leads to stress and the pain rises. I have to shut down. I haven't given up.
