Mother's Day Recap

I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day!

I definitely had a good one, lots of special attention and love :)

This is how I started off my morning...fresh handmade buttermilk cranberry scones with a meyer lemon glaze loving slaved over by the Mr. And he even found an eggless recipe just for me! They were super delicious!

Then he made me a Momosa (recipe on Frangelico's FB page) using my fave liqueur : Frangelico. Frangelico rocks...have you tried it? It's seriously delicious; pure hazelnut goodness :)

Pong Makes My iPhone Happy

I should have posted this for Earth Day ;) I don't post reviews very often...only when I reeeeally, really like something. And I was so happy with this product I just had to share!

I received one of these Pong Soft Touch iPhone cases to review back in January, so I've had it for awhile now. I'm pretty particular about my iphone covers (aren't we all), so I wasn't expecting to like it much, let alone LOVE it. The major reason? The Pong cover reduces your radiation exposure by up to 95% below the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) limit. The Pong cover also has micro-thin antennae that redirects cell phone radiation away from your head. Pretty amazing, huh? Especially with little ones around; It's one thing to be zapping your own melon with radiation and quite another to expose your baby to 'em ;) Especially since children are more susceptible to radiation (They're still growing and their cells divide much faster than an adults!).

EXAMPLE: Sometimes when I'm working in the office I have the radio going. Now usually if I have my iPhone anywhere even remotely near the radio I get interference up the yin yang. With the Pong cover? Complete silence. SOLD!

Also, the Pong is sleek, snaps on easily, FITS right (surprising how rare that is) and has the right amount of slide to fit into your jeans pocket, but with just enough stick to not slide off the dash in your car. I never thought I'd find a case that did both. And yes, it does a solid job of protecting the phone too (still working after being dropped almost once a week, lol). So needless to say I couldn't be happier with my Pong cover!

The Mr was even convinced and he's even more particular about his iPhone covers than I am! ;) So even though the Pong isn't cheap ($59.99), we bought him one too! AND an now we even have the iPad case :)

So if you're in the market for a case, I'd say it definitely worth spending a little more to get protection not just for your phone, but your noggin' too! You can like Pong on Facebook to hear special promotions, new product introductions, etc.

I need someone with a passion in interior design who's creative, stylish, knowledgeable about the lastest home trends and online research savvy. You should be a (home-related) online shopping expert who is a self-professed deal hunter. You can work from home, which means you'll need to have a reliable computer, dependable internet and good time management skills. Pay is project based with a schedule of approximately one project a week right now. You can make your own hours as long as the projects are completed on time. Project consistency will grow depending on your skill and turn-around time, so entrepreneurial drive and hard work ethic is a must!

Requirements:

- Willingness to learn and to take (constructive) suggestions

- Friendly personality via email

- Extremely dependable and driven

- Loves following home design trends and the shelter industry

- Basic skills in Illustrator and Photoshop a PLUS!

Our Home | The Master Bedroom

Time for a little master bedroom discussion! As you can see in the "Before" pics, this room SERIOUSLY needed some help. Being a part of the Lowe's Creative Ideas Network, I received $300 from Lowe's to do a little room revamp.

Here are some really awful quality before pictures...sorry 'bout that! I was in a bit of a hurry. Arden was helping my "inspect" the new digs ;)

Now for the after pictures! The room is FAR from done, but isn't it AMAZINGLY better? I went with my favorite vintage-equestrian theme (of course!). You can check out my Pinterest inspiration board here!

MASTER BEDROOM TO-DO LIST
Here is the current update list. I have a few things crossed off, but there's definitely plenty left to do!

~~Paint walls~~

We wanted to stick with a nice, bright, neutral white and since we loved the bathroom color, we decided to go with the same color: Olympic no-voc paint in "Delicate White".

~~Replace Window Hardware~~

We went with classic-looking, pewter hardware.

And we used these clip rings from allen + roth to attach the curtains.

~~Replace Window Treatments~~

We wanted heavy drapes to block the light and keep the warmth in during the winter. These black, velvet drapes are just the ticket!

Replace the Sconces

The sconces might actually be original, so we'll definitely store them away, but we'd really like a more functional sconce, maybe with a swing arm. Not to mention something a little smaller so it won't be so tight with my painting above the bed. (bonus points to those of you who realized they were accidentally hung upside down after the walls were painted! HA!) Here are a few we're looking at:

New Bedding

We've been sleeping with a down comforter and no cover for months now :( And we need a bedskirt too...I just can't seem to find a good selection of Cal King bedding. Why IS that? So frustrating!

New Dressers

This is the elephant in the room :) When we moved, we decided it was time to retire our beaten-up, tired, old dressers and get something new. Fast forward two and a half months...and I still haven't found dressers that we like in our price range.

Hang Gallery Wall

In our old bedroom we had a gallery wall and it's in boxes just waiting to be hung back up again. One of these days...
