So you’re having trouble finding stock cheaply enough to sell it for a good profit? Well, you’ve come to the right place.

Garage sales. The chances are you’ve gone most of your life seeing ads for these and ignoring them. Start going to as many as you can. You won’t find good things at every one, but when you find one person with good stuff, make them an offer for the lot - they’ll be so happy about it that you can get a real bargain.

Markets. If your area has a market, then go there and look around for anything good. You could buy it there if it’s cheap enough, or try to make friends with the market traders and find out who their suppliers are.

Pawn shops. Pawn shops don’t usually know what to do with the junk they accumulate (unless it’s jewellery, of course). Generally, they put their stock out on the shelves haphazardly, hoping that someday someone with a little money will just happen to come in, search around and buy wildly obscure things. Get them to offer you a discount for bulk.

Real auctions. Go to a real auction, as the chances are that you can resell things for more than they will sell them. After all, they only have a few hundred people in that room - you have a few million to sell to!

Local newspapers. Place an ad in the local paper that reads “I pay cash for [your item type]”, with your phone number. If you can afford it, make it a big display ad, so it’ll be noticed.

Ad boards. Get one of those little ads in the grocery store.

Friends. Ask your friends if they have anything they’d like to sell you, and ask them to spread the word to their friends.

Become known. Give out business cards, mention to people what you do. The chances are that you’ll come across someone who’ll say “Oh, really? I’ve got a load of [item] I don’t want”.

Shops. This might be a little surprising, but some real shops even sell things more cheaply than they sell on eBay. Take a look around your local deep discounter, and pay special attention to any shop that takes trade-ins from customers. The chances are they take a loss on trade-ins as a promotion, and are dying to get rid of that stock.

And finally: eBay! When you’re looking at the completed items view, you’ll notice the massive range of prices that items can sell for on eBay. Try taking the highest-priced item and searching for it on its own, then sort by lowest price first: I can almost guarantee that you’ll see an auction for the same item where it sold for almost nothing. The trick is to find these flawed auctions before they close, win them using a bid sniping service, and then turn around and resell the item.

After all that trouble, though, when do sell the item you might find that a buyer leaves you a feedback rating you just don’t think is fair. The next email will show you what to do about it.

Did you know breast or ovarian cancer can be inherited? In fact, there are 500,000 women in the U.S who carry a gene mutation that puts them at risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC).

Did you know breast or ovarian cancer can be inherited? In fact, there are 500,000 women in the U.S who carry a gene mutation that puts them at risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC).

“All cancer involves changes in genes called mutations. However, in most people, these changes occur after birth, usually later in life and only in a limited number of the body’s cells. Hereditary cancer refers to cancer that is caused by a mutation that is present at birth and in all cells of the body. This gene change makes individuals more likely to develop cancer in their lifetime but doesn’t mean they will definitely develop the disease. Certain cancers, including those of the breast, ovary, and colon, are more likely than others to be hereditary.”

Some hereditary mutations or gene changes linked to breast cancer have already been identified. The two most common are BRCA1 and BRCA2 (for breast cancer 1 and breast cancer 2). Blood tests are now available to determine if someone carries one or both of these two gene changes.

If you have a mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer, get tested for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. While there may not much you can do on your genetic history, there are a few things you can change to your lifestyle.

* Eat raw walnuts. Walnuts contain compounds that reduce the risk of breast cancer. Molecular analysis showed that increased consumption of omega-3 fatty acids contributed to the decline in tumor incidence, but other parts of the walnut contributed as well.

* Keep your weight in check. A study of cancer among overweight people in Europe showed the proportion of new cases of the disease caused by people being fat was highest in women. The most common cancers linked to excess body weight were endometrial, breast and colorectal cancers. Getting in daily exercise can also protect and reduce your risk for cancer.

* Diet tied to survival in breast cancer patients. A study published in the December 2008 Journal of Clinical Oncology found women with the highest intakes of healthier foods were about half as likely to die during the study period as women with the lowest intakes, even with other important factors taken into account—like the initial size of the breast tumor, the treatment type and patients’ smoking habits.

* Herbs and spices fight off cancer compounds. Several herbs and spices have been compared to effective cancer-fighting drugs. Be sure to add these six herbs to your diet: tumeric, ginger, cinnamon, labiates which include mint, thyme, marjoram, oregano and basil, apiums include parsley and celery root, and alliums include garlic, onions, leeks, shallots, and chives.

* Breastfeeding cuts breast cancer in high risk women by fifty nine percent. The new study, published in The Archives of Internal Medicine, used information from 60,075 participants in the second Harvard Nurses’ Health Study. If your mother has breast cancer, you may want to consider the benefits of breastfeeding. Certain types of breast cancer may be rarer among women who breastfeed their babies for at least six months.

If you have a family history of breast cancer, doing these few simple steps towards a healthier lifestyle can help decrease your chances later in life.

Travel Now - Before It's Too Late!

By Maria Rattray

We often hear people say that they just can't afford to travel. Some decide they will do it when the children grow up, or when they retire, or maybe even when they have won the lottery. Sadly, for some, those days may never come. The reality is that if you do want to travel you need to view this life, not as a dress rehearsal, but as living in the 'now'. Scale down your material possessions, whittle your spending, and start living.

How often have you heard people say that they’d love to travel but they can’t afford it? And how often have you heard people saying things like - maybe I should have done that, or if only we’d done this! If only indeed! If that’s how you feel then you should have done it, so learn from what you didn’t do, and start planning to do something! The reality is that there is no point in looking back with regrets. The past is gone and no matter what you do, you simply can’t recapture it. Nor can you make up for what you didn’t do!

So, accepting that the past is gone, what about the future? Sorry, but that doesn’t really exist either. We look forward to it. We plan for it. But it may never come! See, we have no idea what tomorrow will bring. We anticipate its coming, we look forward to events, but there is a slim chance that we could be snuffed out like a candle and there would be no tomorrow.

The unfortunate thing about possibly dying is that when they put you in that wooden box, they don’t ever let you out to play! How’s that for cold comfort?

See, the fact is, that we are all on our way to death. We don’t like to think about it, but it’s true. Every minute, every hour, and every week that you spend dithering, wondering what to do, considering whether to take a particular risk, or whether to afford to do something or not, is one minute, one week, or one month of your life that has been chopped off. You don’t notice it. It happens by stealth, but it does happen! Pretty depressing when you think about it like that, isn’t it!

So why can’t you afford that holiday? Is it because you have a hefty mortgage on a house that you only use a quarter of? Is it because you run two fancy cars? Maybe you are one of those people who believe your boss needs you, because you are the only person in the entire world capable of doing your job as well as you do? Huh? Think again! You are dispensable, and if you die tomorrow, guess what? They will soon find a substitute! It’s a sobering thought I know, but I’m really trying to give you a bit of a reality check!

And if I have given you a reality check, maybe it’s now time to take stock. If you find that you have been caught up in consumerism, that you are living beyond your means, that your debts are really stopping you from living, it’s time to unload and live!

You could start by finding a smaller house. Live with one car. Give yourself permission not to clothes shop for six months. Eat at home. It usually tastes better anyway. Have a media fast. That way you will not be tempted by the sales ads that we all have become addicted to.

Here’s something you might like to do. Next time you are watching your favourite show on TV, make a list of all the new gadgets being advertised that you didn’t know about yesterday. Are you tempted? Do you need them? Yes!! Of course you do! But haven’t you managed your life to date without them?

The reality is that we are all lured into having the latest and best gadgets, the types that no kitchen is complete without. But let’s face it. We buy them, use them for a couple of months, and then, they are consigned to the back of a cupboard. The result is that we need new kitchens to house all the unused ‘must-have’ utensils that we have acquired!!! Are you starting to understand?

You will have to be strong if you make the decision to change. There are lots of people out there who won’t understand whatever you’re doing. They’ll talk! They’ll gossip. But you know, there’s an old saying that I have learned. “What other people think of you is none of your business’.

When you have intuited the meaning of this, gossip will not worry you in the least.

So now, when you board that plane to wherever you decide you are going, your heart will be free, your wallet will be healthier, and you will be far less worried about your possessions. Better still! You will be in for the ride of your life!

As Saint Augustine said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page”. Go travelling!

Last week at the Innovative Evangelism Conference I got a chance to hear Dinesh D’Souza speak to a standing room only crowd. Many in the crowd were fellow evangelists, but there were a few seekers and skeptics present as well. Dinesh D’Souza is a renowned Christian apologist known for taking on the proponents of the New Atheism (people like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens). He’s also one of America’s most influential conservative thinkers.

Dinesh’s arguments from science and philosophy were well thought out. He addressed post-modern arguments against Christian exclusivism with sensitivity, breezed through the theodicy problem (the problem of why a good God allows evil to happen), and built a case for Christian morality without resorting to bashing heads with Bible verses. He even managed—rightly in my view—to avoid the trap of defending irreducible complexity as an argument for intelligent design. All things considered, I thought that Dinesh did a good job presenting arguments for the reasonableness of Christian faith. So why did I leave disappointed?

The weakest part of the presentation for me was when Dinesh defended Christianity against the charge that people in the name of Christ have committed some pretty horrific crimes against humanity, crimes like the Inquisition and the Crusades. Rather than renouncing the evil perpetrated in the name of Christ, Dinesh chose the standard apologetic response of stacking up the body count of crimes perpetrated in the name of Christ against crimes perpetrated in the name of atheism. The body count for the Inquisition? Four thousand. The body count for atheism? Millions. Christianity wins.

Not to say that there isn’t some merit to D‘Souza’s argument mind you. It’s true that when you consider Lenin, Mao, Stalin, and Pol Pot; the body count for atheism in the 20th century alone far surpasses the body count for crimes committed in the name of Christ. D’Souza also rightly pointed out that atheism—more specifically the Marxist brand—was crucial to the philosophies of these barbaric dictators as opposed to the supposedly religious conflicts that are often really about land and resource distributions (like the Catholic/Protestant conflict in Northern Ireland and the Israeli/Palestinian conflict).

Leaving aside the potential counter-argument that Christianity has it’s share of religiously motivated wars as well (think—the 30 year war, the Great Schism) it’s at this point that a thinking skeptic could say, “Yes, it’s true that without religion there would still be wars over land, ethnicity and political philosophies, but the thing particularly dangerous about religion is that religion provides a transcendent source that allows people to dehumanize others with the approval of their conscience“—and the skeptic would be right.

This is why Jesus—not historic Christianity—should be the object of our apologetics. Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus categorically rejected violence, nationalism, and the fusion of faith with earthly power, as did His followers for roughly the first 300 years of Church history. At around 325 A.D. the church and state developed a very cozy relationship under Constantine, producing what author David Bercot from Scroll Publishing likes to call the “Constantinian Hybrid.” It seems to me that in his counter-arguments to the New Atheists moral objections to religious faith, what Dinesh defended wasn’t so much Christianity, but Constantinian Christianity—the kind of Christianity that’s very comfortable fusing faith with earthly power.

Lest I be misunderstood, I’m not suggesting that Dinesh D’Souza approved of the Crusades and the Inquisition in his presentation. It’s just that something seems awry to me when a leading Christian intellectual has to tell his fellow believers that we should all be patting ourselves on the back because our predecessors haven’t tortured and killed as many people as the predecessors of other faiths and belief systems. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m not sure why a non-Christian should be impressed with that. It seems to me that once we accept Constantinian Christianity as normative, we’ve seriously lowered the bar. As a Christian evangelist, D‘Souza’s presentation forced me to ask myself perhaps the toughest of all questions. To what degree does the Christianity that I’m preaching look like Jesus?

One can attribute the popularity of fly fishing to its exposure in media. Television shows and programs have either featured fishing or have had programs that mainly focused on fishing. Nevertheless, fly fishing magazines have been a great contributor into the explosion of fishing.

These magazines have made believers into self described urbanites and city folk who long to experience the rugged and natural outdoors, albeit even just for a weekend. Images and descriptions detailed in a fishing magazine entice the imagination of its readers, who wait for time off to go and join this outdoor adventure. Tips and instructional guides have added more members in the fishing community.

Technology has also aided in the expansion of fishing to the mainstream as rods have become lighter and more durable. Proof of the popularity of the sport lies in the increase of advertising pages in fly fishing magazines. More and more resorts that are catered to affluent and high end markets are making their presence felt through print.

The Kodiak Legends Lodge in Alaska is an example of a resort that has benefited from fishing magazines. Pictures of the fishing grounds and the scenic view have added more inquiries from potential clients there.

Want to fish in a place where there are hardly any people, try the Buffalo Creek Ranch in Rand, Colorado where there are only 15 people residing in the town of Rand itself, and the ranch has a scenery and scope of 25 square miles. Want to be able to fish in one of the best known tail fisheries in the country and have your catch served with fusion cuisine influences of French or Asian taste, then go to the Snake River in Idaho and stay in the South Fork Lodge in Swan Valley.

Reputed to be one of the best dry fishing locations in the world, its facilities and amenities will definitely exceed your expectations added to the guide service provided by South Fork Outfitters and Henry Fork Anglers. The South Fork Lodge has all the bells and whistles of a luxurious holiday as well. Accommodations include lodge rooms, cabin rooms and the river house which has a full kitchen, large living room and an outdoor hot tub aside from a pool table and a large screen TV. Eat your breakfast at the main patio and enjoy the view of the Snake River.

These places were all featured in fly fishing magazines and many since have gone and visited their place. Fishing magazines are here to stay, now on print and online form as well.

By Howard Jacobs

President Obama has talked about being a "uniter". Meanwhile, he's attacked anyone in the media that has had the gall to point out some of the outrageous policies he is promoting. He's called Republicans "followers" and Democrats "thinkers". He blames all problems on others, especially the previous administration. He acts like a child when he can't get his way. But the policies he promotes have been tried before and need to be exposed..

Barack Obama has made it a point to continually talk about the “mess” he inherited from the Bush administration. In August, he said “But I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.”

Indeed, Barack Obama inherited an economy in freefall. There are wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, while terrorist groups remain a constant threat. North Korea and Iran are testing long range missiles in conjunction with the development of nuclear weapons. It’s worth noting that the precarious state of the country is what got him elected in the first place. If everything was going along swimmingly, the country wouldn’t have changed direction.

Liberals need a catastrophe to get elected. They use the misfortune of others, a bad economy, a war, racial tension, hurricanes, the Rachel Maddow show - anything and everything to convince others that they and only they, can come in on their white horses with shining armor to come to the rescue and save the day. Their very existence as a political force is predicated not on solving real problems but on having problems to justify the need for their policies.

It’s a vicious circle. Without having to have to worry about consequences, liberals can promote the most radical policies the way that a gambler can go down double or nothing, without ever having to worry about losing. They are never held to account for their policies. No matter what the facts say, it’s always someone else’s fault. Hence they have a ‘Heads I Win - Tales you lose’ policy. If the radical policy produces results, they are heroes; if not, then there is justification for more of their policies.

Think this sounds crazy? In 1977, the Carter administration passed the Community Reinvestment Act. The goal was noble, as most liberal goals seem, but devoid of logic, as most liberal plans are. The idea was to create a situation where low income people would be able to buy homes. Banks had to prove that a certain percentage of loans went to these low income people and it forced them to make loans to people who didn’t qualify. In the 1990’s, in order to guarantee those loans, Freddie Mac and Fannie May promised to buy 2 trillion dollars worth of those mortgages. This took financial pressure off banks and they were able to make more of these risky loans and show what good ‘corporate citizens’ they were. The downfall was inevitable.

Once all this was set in place, there was speculation and trading on these loans to try to profit from it but none of that would have happened if the irresponsible policies weren’t put into effect in 1977 and then increased in the 1990’s. Before the inevitable collapse, President Bush tried to point out that there would be problems if the current policies continued. It was liberals such as Barney Frank who assured everyone that Fannie and Freddy were solvent. Bush didn’t push the point as hard as he should have, but at least he recognized the problem while liberal democrats said there was no problem.

So Barack Obama is elected into office based on an economic downturn that was created by exactly the kind of policies that he wants to implement to solve the problem. Incidentally, Social Security is another problem that George Bush tried to deal with. They criticized him for bringing up Social Security the same way they criticized him for trying to deal with the mortgage crisis. When Social Security blows up, liberals will no doubt use the same policies that blew it up to try to fix it. At the same time, they will blame republican and conservative greed for causing it to fail even though conservatives were the only ones who tried to head off the problems before they became critical.

President Obama talks about those who ‘created the mess’. How many messes has the left created and how many of those messes have they had to answer for? When you don’t have to answer to your failures, when you are, in fact, rewarded for your failures, it doesn’t provide any incentive to stop failing. Liberals either don’t understand or don’t care that there are consequences to their actions that go beyond the immediate situation at hand.

One mess created by liberals is the banning of the chemical DDT. Rachel Carson’s book “Silent Spring” created hysteria around chemical pesticides. The manufacturers of DDT, farmers, scientists, and others tried to assure people that DDT was not harmful and had tremendous benefits. The anti DDT campaign took on a life of its own and when a liberal cause takes on that kind of momentum, there is no stopping it (See Global Warming). So DDT was banned. Since 1972, over 100 million people have died from malaria. This is a disease that was on the verge of being eradicated in the early 1960s. Millions of people died needlessly. This is a catastrophic event of monumental proportions that few people address and fewer take responsibility for. It’s not an exaggeration - 100 MILLION people have lost their lives yet no one is asked to answer for this! Is it because their heart was in the right place? Their intentions were good? People continue to suffer, mostly in Africa, to this very day and some are talking about re-introducing DDT - a bit late for all those who died because of well-intentioned people. For more information on Rachel Carson and the DDT ban, a good article is “Rachel Carson’s Ecological Genocide” by Lisa Makson in FrontPageMagazine.com.

Another fine mess that liberals have never had to answer for was when they pressured congress to withdraw all funding from the war in Vietnam. When the US withdrew, it did so under a treaty that it would go back in if the situation got out of hand. There was so much pressure by the left to get out of Vietnam, that they constantly blamed the US and absolved the North Vietnamese or the Khmer Rouge of any wrong doing. When it became obvious that mass extermination was taking place in Cambodia, the left continued to blame the US and make excuses for Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. They placed all the blame on Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger as if, even if that were true, it would absolve them of the responsibility of living up to a treaty and saving the millions of people who were being slaughtered.

The propaganda that took place then was similar to the propaganda now and there was no FOX news, talk radio, or the internet to present the other side. Movies such as “The Killing Fields” made it seem as if everything the Cambodians did was the result of the actions of the US. Just as now with Islamic terrorism, it could never be that there were purely evil people who had to be fought and stopped. Nevertheless, regardless of the cause of the Cambodian genocide, we had an obligation to stop it, not to excuse the actions of mass murderers. Two million people died in Cambodia. Not only did the left not want to stop this genocide, they actually praised the people committing the genocide! For a more complete telling of the true story of the Khmer Rouge, see the chapter called “The Bloodbath” in Mona Charen’s book “Useful Idiots”.

Whether it’s as severe as mass extermination or a banking crisis, schools that can’t educate, a war on poverty that creates more poverty, inner city programs that create crumbling cities, rent control ideas that create a lack of housing, ideas to stop crime by understanding criminal behavior, rather than punishing it - thereby causing more crime, welfare ideas that cause dependency instead of personal growth, the messes created by liberal ideas are endless. They are never held accountable for these failures. It’s either because they didn’t do enough of whatever their miserable idea was, or they didn’t have enough money to do it correctly. It never dawns on them that maybe the ideas, themselves, are flawed.

So, we are now being forced to buy this bill of goods that has failed so miserably in the past. Apparently, we have no choice but to accept it. We’re supposed to just “get out of the way and stop talking”, but we have to leave our money behind of course—they’ll need that. Obama is like a vacuum cleaner salesman who is going to pour some dirt all over the floor to prove how great the vacuum cleaner will work. It won’t work and we shouldn’t have to pay $10,000,000,000,000 for a broken vacuum cleaner that will leave a mess on the floor.

By Adrian Key

Google are now inviting AdWords advertisers to trial their new keyword selection tool. But, is the new tool any good?

If you’re like everyone else you’ll be excited about Google’s announcement of a new keyword selection tool for AdWords. But, is the new tool any good?

Where To Find The New Keyword Selection Tool

For once, everybody can trial Google’s new keyword tool rather than just a select few. To take part in the trial, log into your AdWords account and click on the “Opportunities” tab.

Scroll down the left side of your browser and find the “Tools” box. Within the box click on the “Keyword Tool” link to show the exisiting keyword selection tool. At the top of the page will be a link inviting you to “take a look at the new keyword tool”. Click on this link to start your trial.

What’s New In The New Google AdWords Keyword Selection Tool?

The first change you’re likely to notice is the “categories” tree.

This tree lists major niches like “finance”, “home & kitchenware” and “food”. Clicking on the “+” symbol to the left of a category shows sub-niches within the main niche.

Select the niche that describes your business and Google will reveal a long list of keywords to choose from and use in your AdWords campaign.

With your keyword suggestions, you get the familiar information we’re all used to like competition levels, estimated costs, local & global search volumes.

New features include a trend graph that shows a keywords popularity over time. You can now tell if your keywords popularity is long term, seasonal or just a flash in the pan.

If you feel the need for more information about your keywords, additional columns can be added to the standard layout to reveal even more statistics. These include estimates on a keywords click-through-rate, ad position, impressions and cost. These should all be very familiar stats to regular users of Google’s Traffic Estimator tool.

Advanced Options

Not quite as obvious, but definitely as useful as the “categories” feature is the “Advanced Options” link. Clicking on this link reveals constraints you can place on your keyword statistics to get an even more realistic view of the performance you can expect from them.

One excellent change is that you can now filter your results by geographical location and language. You can also investigate the effect that different ‘max cpc’ and ‘daily budget’ limits will have on your keywords performance.

Another very interesting new feature is the ability to filter your results based on criteria that you define. For example, you could have the tool show you only those keywords that provide more than 1000 impressions in a month or for which you could obtain a top 3 position for your particular budget constraints.

Is This Tool More Complicated Than It Needs To Be?

The new AdWords Keyword Selection Tool certainly provides AdWords advertisers with a very comprehensive view of how your keywords might perform. And I’m sure the seasoned AdWords expert will get hours of enjoyment looking at potential keywords for their campaign from every angle imaginable.

However, for those that are very new to AdWords, this tool is going to seem very complicated and the results it provides will be hard to fully understand. Many new advertisers are going to be tempted to select an even bigger list of keyword suggestions and add them to their campaign without really doing any proper research on their value.

This is of course great news for Google who’ll make lots of extra revenue from the extra keywords these types of advertisers will select for their AdWords campaigns. But, maybe not so good for the advertiser who may not see a corresponding rise in sales.

Top Tips When Buying A Rod Pod

By Nick Gent

If you are fishing from wooden platforms or hard gravel banks you will need a rod pod. There are many things to consider when purchasing a fishing pod, here are a few pointers to look out for.

The normal situation for most anglers today is to use a multiple a rod set up when fishing for carp, this enables the angler to fish many different areas, rigs or baiting strategies at the same time form the same swim. To eliminate the problem of carrying lots of separate bank sticks around in the rod bag some clever fishing tackle manufacturers developed what’s know as the the rod pod which is capable of multiple rods and bite alarms, bite indicators and rear butt grips.

Most rod pods have adjustable legs and buzzer bars so the angler can point the rods in the desired direction be it beach caster style with tips pointing upwards to avoid weed, snags etc. or rod tips pointing level or towards the water if using back leads or slack lines.

A Rod pod is also useful if your fishery utilizes wooden platforms because of shallow or reedy margins or if the fishery has rock hard banks like many of the gravel pits in the south of England. Another advantage of a rod pod is the time savings when setting up and packing away. On arrival at the lake the angler can take the rod pod straight out of the tackle bag with bite alarms and rear rests still attached from the last session and can be fishing in next to no time.

The first rod pods were made from a heavy stainless steel but most anglers now prefer the lighter, plastic covered alloy models that manufacturers like Fox International produce or the lightweight stainless models Solar Tackle manufacture, although there are still companies such as Matrix Innovations and Steve Neville that still produce old school strong, heavy gauge stainless steel pods that should last you a lifetime but are a substantial weight to carry to your swim.

Fox are at the forefront of rod pod design and manufacture and produce a wide range of pods to suit all fishing situations and budgets. These range from the simple, A-pod with limited adjustments to the Eclipse, Quattro & Ranger pods with adjustable legs and central bars. You can expect to pay from around £45 for the lower end to around £150 for top end pods.

Solar Tackle has also been a major player in the rod pod market and their flagship product ‘The Solar Worldwide Pod’ being a firm favourite with many anglers who prefer the stainless look but is made from a lightweight stainless steel and weighs just 2.3kg.

If you are considering purchasing a rod pod you should think about the following factors:

Rod capacity - Most rod pods will come with a 3 rod buzzer bar but most can alternatively take a 2 or 4 rod buzzer bar as an option.

Bank side terrain - Are your banks steep? Then you may want to consider a rod pod with adjustable legs and frame giving you the ability to raise or lower the front/back ends so you can point the rods up or down.

Weight - Is your desired lake/swim a long way from the carp park? If so it may be a good idea to purchase a lighter weight pod.

Budget & Quality - Pods can vary in cost and quality so it pays to go with an established manufacturer. It will pay to do some research online to find the best deals available.
