My personal experience has been to make changes in my business and service offering based on what the market needed. The challenge is to make those changes while remaining true to your overall business objectives. When thinking change consider these three points:

Both clients and colleagues want to know the same basic things. I love what I’m doing so answering their questions has never been a problem but I’ve wondered if there was a better way to help them get what they need and to be efficient about it. Can I package the answers in such a way that it is easily accessible and therefore gives people what they ask for right away?

The Year of Connection

I want to talk to you about making this the year of connection.

Recent years have skewed our interpretation of what it means to be connected. Some of us think that having lots of Facebook friends or LinkedIn connections or email contacts means we are well connected.

Suddenly all that went undone or unsaid throughout the previous year is relegated to the ‘past’ and with the coming of January 1st I have a brand new chance to try again. Oh, the possibilities! But what shall I do with it? How will I plan? How can I make sure that this time my dreams come true?

Prospecting Tips for Small Business

For any business, prospecting is essential if you want to survive. Prospecting involves creating conversations that lead to sales. Without the focus on sales, you are really just hiding behind marketing activities.

Prospects are doing much of their research online prior to meeting with any supplier or their competitor.

Decide and Do

How many decisions do you make a day? 10? 100? 1000? If you count the tiny, subconscious decisions you make such as hitting the brakes when you see a red light or turning right instead of turning left when walking the dog, the daily decisions mount into the thousands.

Beyond the subconscious or instinctive are the decisions we make that require more effort to execute and demand that you be more consciously present in order to successfully complete. Each decision you make is usually followed by an action. This manifests itself in the form of the ‘to do list’. You’ve decided you want to do something, and now you are listing that as a priority for you to move forward. What comes next?
