English: Begin garden project group assignment. (See handout.) garden project Tonight, read the packet on school gardens and prepare questions to ask Mrs. Hubler’s class. Rough drafts of all the elements in your portfolio are due next Tuesday, May 29. Portfolios will be collected and presented in class next Thursday, May 31.

Geography & APES: No new homework. Complete corrections/make-up work for any tests that you want to raise to 70% or missing homework.

Health: By tomorrow afternoon, complete a 48-hour food and activity log. For each entry, record the date and time. List all the food you eat and briefly describe it’s nutritional value. Include calories if possible. (Check labels when you can.) Also list any physical activity with a brief description (e.g. duration, number of repetitions, etc.).

Corbett Culinary Students Participating in Arts Festival by Jenny Radulesk

This past week has been a busy one in the Corbett kitchen! My culinary students were graciously asked to participate in the Columbia Gorge Arts Festival taking place this year at the Corbett Grade School on May 19th & 20th. Each student was required to select a dessert recipe to prepare for either purchase or entry in the dessert competition. Students have been busy making their desserts with pride as they eagerly prepare to showcase the skills they’ve learned over the past year. I hope you will be able to attend the festival and enjoy a few (or all!) of the desserts being prepared by my amazing culinary students!
