While most people associated with Corbett have come to “expect” the best from the instrumental program, everyone can now “‘bust their buttons” over our vocal program too. Little was anticipated about the sensational accomplishments that would come this year Both the HS and MS Choirs have received excellent accolades and awards at their respective festivals. The HS choir won the Lewis and Clark league choir competition so, for the first time in History, both music groups took first in Districts and will compete in the OSAA State Music Competition.

Community and friends are invited to hear the HS Bands and Choir perform this Monday night, April 30, at 7PM in the Corbett Multi Purpose Building.

Oregon Music Conference by Tim Killgore

The State conference for Oregon music educators is being held in Eugene January 12-15. Along with seminars and clinics to enhance the professional development of music teachers, some of the finest student musicians from around Oregon are selected to attend and be a part of the “Honors” groups. These groups perform and produce top quality recordings from the stage of the Hult Center for the performing Arts, (home of the Eugene Symphony)

We are proud of our Corbett music student, Miss Morgan Bucher, who performed in this prestigious event playing the french horn.

High School Winter/Holiday Concert by Tim Killgore

The Corbett High School Symphonic Band and Choir will present a Concert on Thursday, December 15th at 7 PM.

The concert will be held in the Multi-Purpose Building on the Corbett Campus. Everyone is invited, Musicians please arrive at 6:30pm.

Lord of the Rings Concert by Tim Killgore

The students in HS Music department are invited to an extraordinary experience at the Portland Rose Garden on Tuesday Oct. 18.

The Munich symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Boys Choir and Pacific Chorale are currently touring the West Coast and performing a “live” performance to The Lord of the the Rings movie: The Fellowship of the Ring. The movie will be projected on a 60ft. screen above the orchestra and choirs. We’ve arranged group tickets at $30 each.

Corbett’s giant Choir by Tim Killgore

The enrollment of the Choir here at Corbett HS has almost doubled since last year. We now have 45 students doing a great job of learning to sing. Tuesday the 13th was the first singing test and everyone sang admirably. Good job vocalists! Keep up the good work.

The Advanced Band is going to have an Old fashioned Ice Cream Social on Thursday October 6. This event is open to all members of the Advanced band (formerly the Middle School band). The event will be held in Mr. Killgore’s music room from 7:30 – 9pm. Cost is $2 per person. See you there!
