Post season is upon us and this fall we are sending each and every one of our four high school varsity teams to state.

Boys Soccer will travel to Hazelia Field over by Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego to face the Westside Christian Eagles in the 1st Round of the OSAA 3A/2A/1A Boys soccer playoffs this afternoon, Tuesday, November 8th. Game time begins at 3:30 pm.

Volleyball won it’s first round state match against the Sheridan Spartans this past Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals being held at Lane Community College beginning this Friday. Our Lady Cardinals will face Santiam Christian at 1:15 this Friday, November 11th at Lane Community College. A victory against Santiam Christian means an 8:30pm contest Friday night.

Our football team advanced into the state playoffs after taking care of the Valley Catholic Valiants at home this past Friday evening. The boys are slated to face Santiam Christian, just outside of Corvallis this Friday, November 11th at 5:00pm.

Girls soccer will play in the quarterfinals on Saturday, November 12th at a site and time still to be determined. It is looking more and more like a road trip down to St. Marys of Medford at this point in time.

A rooter bus has been organized for the Friday trip to watch Girls Vollyeball at 1:30 at Lane CC, travel back towards the Corvallis area to catch the Football game at 5:00pm at Santiam Christian HS, and then back to Lane CC to watch the late 8:30 VB match. At this time all we can do is plan for the best.
Come sign up at the high school office.

We are also looking at Saturday’s schedule and the possibility of another rooter bus based on Tuesday and Friday outcomes.

It’s a busy time! A great time for Corbett Athletics to showcase their student athletes. Our Cardinals hard work and dedication have paid off and now the real fun begins. Make a weekend of it and come out to support your Corbett Cardinals! ON TO STATE!

10,710 practice and contest hours later we find ourselves sending 3 of 4 of Corbett High School teams into the state playoffs. Remarkable in itself but throw in the fact that each team went undefeated in league play and brought home League Championships in each only adds to the amazing fall season that Corbett athletics have experienced thus far.

Volleyball is on an incredible run going undefeated on the season at 26-0. Their last victory clinched the Lewis and Clark League Championship as they easily swept the Aardvarks from Oregon Episcopal in 3 sets. They are the #1 team in the state and host a first round state playoff this Saturday, November 5th. Time and opponent have yet to been decided. The quarter-finals are set for November 11th and 12th at Lane Community College where our girls expect a return trip.

The Girls Soccer Team secured their first League Championship in team history amassing an 11-2-1 season record . They will make their first appearance in the state playoffs as the quarter finals get underway on Saturday, November 12th. Site, time and opponent are still undetermined. Our Lady Cardinals are currently ranked #8 in the state.

The Boys Soccer Team also brought home their first League Championship in team history going 9-2-2 on the season. Their only losses came at the feet of Oregon Episcopal School and Catlin Gabel, two perennial soccer favorites. The boys are currently ranked #10 and will enter the state playoffs as our league’s #1 representative on Tuesday, November 8th. Site, time and opponent are still yet to be determined.

After beating Warrenton this past Friday during homecoming our football team has the opportunity to complete the cycle and make it 4 for 4 in fall state appearances. A home victory over Valley Catholic in the final league match-up this Friday will solidify the 3rd and final seed into the 1st Round of the state 3A football playoffs. A win Friday night and our Cardinals will likely travel and play their first round contest on the road either Friday, November 11th or Saturday, November 12th.

I wrote the script this year and the coaches and teams responded like champions. When student athletes believe in their coaches, their teammates, and their own personal abilities there are no limits in what they can accomplish together. Fantastic job by everyone involved! Now the fun begins.
ON TO STATE! ON TO STATE! ON TO STATE!

Second week in October and we are fully underway into league play and stand at the top in 5 of 7 sports that our middle school and high school athletes are participating in this fall. Our HS Girls Volleyball team is undefeated at 17-0 on the season and currently hold the #1 ranking in the state for 3A Volleyball. The girls are fresh out of the Seaside Invitational VB Tourney where they took 1st place beating LaSalle Prep, Tillamook, and Banks that are currently the #12, #6, and #3 ranked teams in the state at the 4A level. Warrenton comes into town for the next league contest this Tuesday, October 11th. The JV girls will begin at 5:00 and varsity will take the court shortly after the completion of the JV match.

Our Girl’s Soccer team is currently ranked #11 in the state at the 3A/2A/1A level and continue climbing as they are undefeated in league play and hold a 5-2-1 season record. Next up for our girls is league opponent Portland Adventist. The Cardinals and Cougars will square off this Tuesday night, October 11th at 6:00pm under the lights at the Jeff Lucas Memorial Stadium and Red Wing Field. For the first year in Cardinal history our girl’s program had enough participants necessary to form a Junior Varsity team. This strong group of primarily freshmen are the future of Corbett Girl’s Soccer and find themselves competing against local 5A and 6A JV and JV2 squads. The girls take a short trip across the river to play at Battle Ground HS this afternoon, October 10th with a 4:00 start.

Our Boy’s Soccer team continued getting the job done through injury and adversity last week beating league rival Portland Christian by a score of 3-2. Oliver Tymoshuk picked up the hat trick putting his last goal of the night in the back of PC’s net with 2 minutes left to go in the match. Our boys are ranked #19 and currently sit at the top of the league standings with a 3-2-2 overall record and are 1-0 in league action. Next up for the boys is a short trip to league opponent Portland Adventist where they will square off against the Cougars this Tuesday, October 11th at 4:15

Our Football team continues to learn and grow under the direction of Coach Lance Lovitt. For many of our boys it is the 3rd set of offensive and defensive strategies brought in by 3 different coaches in 3 years. The boys are working hard and continue to improve. They are currently 0-1 in Lewis and Clark League play and face league opponent Clatskanie this upcoming Friday night, October 14th at the Tiger’s home field in Clatskanie beginning at 7:00pm.

Our Middle School Girl’s Volleyball teams continue their run for a 4th consecutive Metro Christian League Championship as they are undefeated in league play under the guidance of long standing coach Cheryl Reams. Next up for our girls is a home match against league opponent Horizon Christian on Tuesday, October 11th at 4:00/5:15 respectively for our JV and Varsity Middle School squads. Matches will be played in the Corbett Elementary Gym.

MS Football has rebounded from a tough season just one short year ago and currently stand undefeated in 3 contests beating a strong Rainier machine by a score of 24-22 last week. Perseverance has paid off for this young group as we look forward to the future of Corbett Football. The Cardinal’s next game is a home contest against WyEast Middle School of Hood River beginning at 4:30 today, October 10th on Red Wing Field, home of the Jeff Lucas Memorial Stadium.

Middle School Co-ed Soccer continues to roll as the team has been very competitive in most of their matches as they face Metro Christian League opponents. Next up for our Cardinals are the Portland Christian Royals at home, Tuesday, October 11th with a 4:15 start on the soccer field.

Come out and support all of our athletes as they spend many hours preparing to represent Corbett High School, Middle School and the Corbett Community through athletic performances. It’s a Great Time!
