This is the second one of these I have purchased - one has 3 handsets and a fancier base with speaker and one has 4 handsets. They are very reliable and easy to use. I like the fact that each person can program their handset as they wish. They could be a little sturdier. One of our base sets got killed off by a large power surge. All the rest of the equipment on that group was still good though, so just replacing that base wasn't too bad.

On the second purchase, we were upgrading because our old wireless phones interfered with our wireless internet connections. We have had no problem with the 6.0 phones in that regard.

Nice phone nice features: with a caveat for some

I really like the panasonics cordless phone quality, most other competitors do not get very consistantly good reviews so this is a good product.

I do wish Id of looked on amazon and found I couldve gotten this model with two handsets for like 16 bucks more though. To buy one seperate on amazon its like 37 bucks...sigh oh well my error.

My one gripe will affect those who dont want to hear noise (call screening while sleeping) turning off call screening is a two step odd process part of which must be done while the call is coming in or you have to call yourself to do it! Dumb why no button for it! (there is a volume button but doesnt stop call screening volume per book).

It stays off after process (volume of call screening) unless someone in house uses the actual charger base answering machine unit to check messages, then it resets. If youre not aware someone used the machine instead of picking up calls from handset you get sound. I live in a small space so this is a pain if you sleep days.

and a minor gripe: once you listen to a message, but do not want to delete, there is no reminder light that it is still there. No biggie but dumb.

I do like the unit but if it was made a bit differently Id be happier.

I did notice the volume on phone set at high isnt real loud (on some calls only) which is fine for me but if youre hearing impaired it could be an issue, my parents have a panny cordless very similiar to this one (new) and dad has to use speaker phone to hear (which runs battery down faster). (the volume on hand set is just too low compared to old analog cordless).

It does what it says and sounds fine no buzz. The phone handset volume is not simple to turn back on (no shortcut ringer on off button), you have to access the menu to turn ringer back on. If you forget ....you dont hear calls.
It does blink on its end and on display, when rings though.

I did not find a problem erasing messagings as one review mentioned I dont think its hard and is one touch.

Inspite of my gripes, It really is a nice system and you can purchase extra handsets later, and easily purchase new batteries which arent expensive at this time. "aa" nimh. Though you must charge them in phone unit charger or the phone wont recognize the full battery.

You can retrieve messages from handset and it blinks to notify you have messages, it even has some sort of synching for voice mail if you use that.

It also has multiple caller id functions (I dont use them) but its nice to have the options for some. Inc'd various assigned rings to incoming calls if you have caller id. And it will audibly announce the caller is you have caller i.d.

It has a nice phone book function, holds long numbers and spaces.

If It wears badly I will return to update :) Overall I do recc'd it :)

Great basic phone

If you're looking for a basic phone that's easy to use, this is for you. The sound is crystal clear, the buttons are large, and the answering machine works well. It has a small base so it's great for small spaces, which is the primary reason I purchased it.

Very good phone

I am really very happy with my new phone. But the following could have been better

1. Call registering is not good. Expecting some thing closer to any Mobile.
it register all the calls missed and received calls in same list. And don't store the call duration.
The dialed number list is very small. It can hold up to 6 last dialed numbers.

other wise it's a pretty decent phone. I will recommend the phone

Phones sound great; easy to set up and all went as directions indicated; probably great for home use.

Some irritating features (no directory fast dial buttons).

Small business problems: (1) TERRIBLE: an extension can pick up on an ongoing call - our antique Panasonic system didn't allow this but this system does and is an irritating issue I specifically did NOT want and couldn't imagine was not included in this system (2) too many functions require using the menu instead of convenient buttons (3) no mute button except on base station (4) memorized phone numbers are hard to use - have to use directory - no hot buttons - (but are easy to enter) (5) TERRIBLE: no DND or ability to send ringing call directly to voicemail immediately.

System looks great; voice quality is good even on conference and speaker, range seems fine. Would recommend for homes but not for small business.

I like these panasonic cordless phones a lot. Great sound quality. The handset speaker phones work well enough. My only complaint is that after 12-24 months the batteries wear out and are very expensive to replace. Also, it you want to buy extra handsets its very expensive.

No complaints about the operation of the phone. I like the handset menus that allow you to see missed calls and hear voicemail from any handset. The intercom is cool though I never use it. The software for controlling the answering machine function could be more sophisticated, such as more powerful browsing through and reviewing your voicemail messages.

Fairly good range.

I really like this phone. I can remotely turn off the talking caller ID from any phone in the system. Also, I entered a number of a pesky toll free number that called me every night last week and it blocked the number after the first ring and hung up. GREAT! ! ! So far I love the quality of the phones. The biggest problem I have with the phones is they should have a belt clip. My previous Uniden phones had a clip and it was really handy if I needed to move around while talking and needed my hands to be free. Everything else on the new phones are acceptable. I gave a four star rating because of not having a clip. I have always purchshed Uniden phones because of the quality.

The reception is excellent even several houses away. The phonebook feature is easily copied to all the phones The battery life is excellent even if you forget to place it on the charger overnight.The 'find' feature is very helpful when a handset 'goes missing.' This phone doesn't have a speed dial (one key) feature but the phonebook feature is user friendly and one can quickly use the dial feature from that. Overall, I'm very satisfied. It's a great phone system. I highly recommend it.

My husband has a set of Uniden Cordless phones at his work and has been very happy with the quality and reception. So when our home phones started to go...we decided to order this set. So far...so good! We love having 4 different handsets spread throughout our house. The handsets are of a good weight and have a great display screen. I like being able to program the phone book and having a different ring tone for friends/family. Also, you can access messages on the answering machine from any phone in the house. The reception is great and the volume control on the handsets is very handy. The only minor complaint I would have are the bases for the phones. They are very lightweight and you have to be very precise in putting the phone back into the cradle or it will go flying off your furniture. Other than that, I would recommend these phones.

I purchased this Uniden in November. I have yet to get a working battery for one of the units. The one which came with the receiver was dead. I contacted the seller through Amazon and was immediately sent another one. It was dead also. Would not work in any of the receivers. The seller agreed to send another battery, but said they had to wait until there was a customer return. No wonder some customers are receiving bad products. They are being recycled. Even if I get a working battery, the life will most likely have been shortened.

I basically have a 3 unit set, which I am happy with otherwise. Just frustrated with the battery situation and the hassle it has been.

I like many didn't expect much from the phone. It looks decent, and the call quality in my case was fine. But after about six months the battery doesn't hold a charge, can only have the phone off the charger for ten minutes before the battery is drained. The low battery warning comes on about 10 seconds before the phone shuts off, not really a warning. True it is inexpensive but spending time and money finding a replacement battery this early is a pain.

I purchased a 900 megahertz Uniden phone back in 1997 & used it constantly for all these years. I replaced the battery once about 5 yrs. ago. The technology has changed quite a bit since then, & it has gotten to the point where a new battery for my old phone cost about as much as a whole new phone! So, I purchased this phone as a replacement for the old one. I specifically chose Uniden because the quality of my last one was outstanding. If this one lasts half as long as the last, I'll be happy! I've had this phone for nearly a year and use it every day. I've been very pleased, especially considering its low cost.

Pros:
The button layout is intuitive, and the buttons work well and feel nice. The dialing buttons and screen are backlit. The screen has 3 lines and displays caller ID info if you have that service. Sound quality is good, and volume is adequate and easily adjustable. The phone has proven to be durable, and the battery life seems good. I keep the phone near me during the day and return it to the charging base at night. It only runs out of power if I don't charge it for several days. The base also has a button to find the phone if it's lost, which has been helpful a few times.

Cons:
Occasionally a call will drop after I've been talking for a while. This usually happens when I lie down and the antenna is horizontal, and there are several walls between the phone and base. It doesn't happen often, though. The speakerphone is fine for conversations, but if you're on hold with canned music, the sound turns off and on repeatedly, which is annoying. It seems to need a continuous, minimum volume level to work properly. Lastly, if I hold the phone between my head and shoulder, which I shouldn't do anyway, sometimes the END button is accidentally pressed and the call ended.

Overall I've been very happy with this inexpensive phone.

A good bluetooth compatible phone would be a winner but this isn't it. First of all it is NOT universally compatible with all Blackberry models so check yours carefully. I have the "tour 9600" and it will not automatically connect with the V-tech, it must be manually re-connected if I take my cell phone out of range (I checked V-tech support and this is a known issue). The slippery super-sensitive touch keys will be mean lots of dialing errors. Other features are about as basic as they come, making this a phone about 20 years behind the curve. As soon as someone makes a good bluetooth model, this unit goes right into the garage sale bin.

This phone is worth its weight in gold - the DECT 6.0 technology works through my concrete house walls and the sound quality is amazing. I switched from a newer Uniden phone system that barely worked in my house, calls were dropped when you walked into another room. I can walk across the street while still on the phone with the Vtech - Totally worth the money and the bluetooth features are icing on the cake. The phone functions really nicely and it looks great - the keypad is very modern and easy to keep clean, no buttons just picks up your finger over the buttons. Don't forget to buy a couple of the extension handsets for the bedroom and kitchen, it completes the system and makes the system rock.

This phone interfaces with Oticon's (bluetooth) Streamer. I've had the phone for about two weeks now and haven't had any problems. The sound I hear in my aids is great and haven't had any complaints from the people I've been talking to. Would like to find a bluetooth tv adapter that would work with Oticon Streamer as well as this phone works. I've tried the Motorola DC800, but it has a latency problem (sound not in sync with the video)and I haven't been able to keep it paired to the streamer.

We purchased this Vtech LS6245 along with 3 extra handsets. I'm happy with the phones. The configuration of the extra handsets was easy. The sound quality is good. The Bluetooth cell phone pairing works great and is more useful than I expected. We like the styling.

The main feature I miss on this and all current answering machines is the ability to have the answering machine call my cell number when there is a new message. We have a Panasonic digital answering machine that is about 12 years old that has this feature. I can program it with the 7 digit number to call whenever someone leaves a new message. It's really nice to get notified on my cell phone whenever someone leaves a message at the house. That feature has saved us a couple of times when the message at home was time-sensitive. Why oh why doesn't any current answering machine support this feature???

Another feature that's missing on this Vtech is the ability to have different ring tones for various callers (using caller ID). That feature doesn't matter to us because we don't have caller ID but I know many people need that capability.

But over all I've been pleased with this phone system and I'd recommend it.

The phone is in great shape and features, but some things really need to improve: first, the voice on the other side is never clear, even if its really loud, you hear the other person clearly.

Secondly, the key response is slow and difficult to press for their work. Thirdly, I do not really care, but the finish sucks! Besides these things, is a great phone for the value (I got $43.50 from Amazon, but they changed the price.)

I was very happy with this phone until I was about to use it with my business card. When I have the phone numbers in the directory where I realized that there was no instruction on how to insert pauses or appointment of speed dial numbers. At that moment I realized that the numbers stored in memory and speed dialing are two different things. So easy to use my card I had to use the card's speed dial. Just another step. I looked at other phones and come to the conclusion that Speed Dial is virtually a thing of the past, so I decided to keep this phone.

Otherwise, I really like this phone. This is a good size, illuminated keyboard Nice compact the base. A little thing I like is that the debate and End buttons are marked in green and red, respectively, making them less conspicuous, and really everything else that is marked in black on silver. Addition, there are on how the keys are. The menu button is not lit well. All that shows how the orange in the photo is what is on. When not in use, the orange is actually silver. I have no problems with interference and sound quality is excellent. I have not used the microphone function and probably never will be.

I was looking for a phone for my future dorm. I did not use an answering machine, and find this phone so far has been great. Seems to be well made and feels good in my hand. I love the personalization features such as backlighting of the keyboard, long battery life, and a personal touch. I decided to rate this product in an attempt to bring the rating for this phone back. One guy gave this phone 1 out of 5 rating for him did not have a headphone port ... ridiculous. Do not deceive others to give false hope just because you are uninformed about their purchase. I love this phone and recommend it highly. Features very accessible and great for the price. I have my sister and she loves it!

I bought this yarn to replace an old broken. Nothing special - just looking for a cordless phone that works reliably and has a decent sound quality. The sound quality is not great, not terrible. It's a bit 'of an echo when you speak. But it is entirely adequate for normal use. At that price, it is hard to complain. Feels solid in my hands, and the speakerphone works well.

I read the review and the other was a bit 'worried. I usually like Motorola products, I have used personally and professionally for years and had very few problems, I decided to try this phone system. I agree with another reviewer, the phones are cell-phone-ish if that makes sense. Yes, they are lightweight and made of plastic. I have no problem with it, all this crap electronic or Chinese.

The phones have Li-Ion batterys and this is a great good, fast charge and long life, and very easy to replace. Range is good, but keep in mind that this is a cordless phone, not an amateur. I have a house all levels 3200ag Ft. The phone is 80 meters from the base, the call quality is very strong and well. Yes, a flashing light for voice mail would be nice but not necessary. The units are lightweight and small size, but big enough to hold my hand and felt decent distance from the mouth for ease of use. If you were calling a large headset can be helpful. Consists not complicated, much like a mobile phone. I have not read the great book of directions after the quick start "pamphlet, has some important instructions you need willl.

Over all a stong B+ rating

I've had my trusty VTech 5.8 GHz expandable cordless phones for just over nine years now. After years of less than careful use, the time has come where replacing the batteries won't resurrect them.

My requirements for a replacement were pretty simple:
1) I have voicemail, so an answering machine wasn't necessary
2) There must be some kind of voicemail notification
3) 5.8 GHz or DECT, to play nice with my wireless networks
4) Speakerphones in the handset

I had pretty decent luck with Motorola phones in the past (both wireless and cellular), and I liked the design of these devices. The price was right, too, so I placed my order. My first impression after receiving the phone was that I felt very cheap. A couple of drops of good, and I'm sure that will crack or break. Motorola seems to want the keyboard to move as many products as possible, including wireless phones. On these phones, the keypad is made of rubber, which is not so bad, until you start to use the automated phone systems ... then it becomes a real pain to deal with if you're quick with the keyboard.

The voicemail indicator is an icon on the screen. VTech perhaps spoiled me, but I expected to see a flashing light somewhere. Then, you must check the machine to see if you have a message, rather than noting a flashing light. Is not a major problem, but it is disappointing the same thing. Where wireless phones Motorola is not the quality of calls, though. Several people complained that they could not hear me ... if I could maintain a relationship with them long enough to get a complaint. The other important issue, important is that the devices would all be closed at random. Now ... The base is located in the same place, my years VTech phone is the same outlet on the UPS itself, and using the same telephone line (Jack was in good condition, so there is no need to replace it).

I did all the normal "move the base", "try a different connector" steps that anyone trying to rule with these problems, but without success. Eventually, I gave up and decided to make VTech VTech DECT 6.0 Black / White Expandable 2-Handset Cordless Phone System, with an additional telephone. To my surprise, the two phones are surprisingly (perhaps disturbingly similar), from conception until the batteries and instruction stickers. I would be willing to bet that they left the factory. The key difference: working VTech phones.

I wanted a no frills phone, no digital answering machine, very basic phone for my home office. I log onto a phone switching system so calls are forwarded to the line. I do, however, need caller ID. Unfortunately the caller ID is not reliable. It will display the correct number, but the name from a previous call will get stuck in the display for who knows how long. It is important for me to be able to see who is calling me so I can start to pull the customer up in my database. That is a fail. I am thinking about getting a separate Caller ID display unit. The sound quality is adequate; however I am using it with a Plantronics wireless headset so it is hard to determine an exact source of any deficiency. The included handset does not have a belt clip. I only needed a handset to be able to go get a cup of coffee, etc and still be able to get my calls so this is another fail. I do like the simplicity of use and function and it is a good price. Overall, I am pleased with the product.

Bought it to use with my T-mobile@ home VOIP;
- Call quality is way better than the V-tech I got from T-mobile a,d the Uniden that I tried before this.
- Voice mail alert does not work with this particular service.
- Speaker on the handset is there if you need it, but not of a very good quality.
- Speaker on the base is very good.

Would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

I purchased this phone strictly for the looks and the price. The phone looks great and very stylish and the price was a steal. However, the phone is made of light plastic. I am extremely afraid to drop the phone as I am sure it will break.
The key pads on both units are made without back-lit keypads. This easy to add feature would have made this phone so much better.
I was going to give the phone three stars, but for the price and looks, a well deserved four is given.

One last note:
For some reason I was under the impression that the phone had a built in answering machine. That is not the case. It is set up to work with your landline's voicemail. Hope this information helps.

I got this for magicjack and it works great. Phone is solid for the price. Music on Hold is corny, but owell. Only reason that I gave a four star is cause you can't see any keys in the dark. If they added that 1 led light, the phone would be perfect

Siemens makes this Verizon-branded phone... and since I had another Siemens phone that I loved, but my 2.4ghz spectrum has become crowded with wireless speakers, Wifi, microwave interference, etc., I decided to get a 1.9ghz system. This unit is just okay. It doesn't have the ringer timer that my previous unit did, which allowed me to disable the ringer at programmable times. The LCD screen is difficult to view at an angle. It also allows people to use a handset if another device is using the line (such as a fax machine), which my old phone handled more appropriately.

If I had to make my purchasing decision again, I'd probably try a Panasonic.

Bought this to test whether or not it could replace our aging 2.4GHz Panasonic phones with built-in room monitoring function. Our current phones allow us to continuously monitor our children through the night and naptime. The Verizon room monitoring feature basically monitors the sound in the room and when it reaches a certain level it calls a pre-programmed number (Which can be another handset). Not exactly what we're looking for to get peace of mind. Can't say too much about the other features of the phone, build quality seemed ok, sound quality good, interface a little goofy to navigate. After briefly experimenting with the room monitoring feature we returned it.

This phone is much better than I expected it to be. Reviews online make it seem that some people did not think it was well made or sounded that good. I have had no such problems in the 3 months I have had this product. The 2 phones are nice and small and fit really well against your ear. The answering system works well and can also be turned off in case you use voicemail instead. The 2nd line is great and can be used as a sort of intercom with the 1st handset if you are in opposite sides of the house. Nice that you can expand it to more than 2 phones if need be also.

I'VE HAD VTECH PHONES FOR YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THEM BUT WITH THIS PHONE I GET TERRIBLE RECEPTION. THERE'S INTERFERENCE (IMAGINE "BUZZING") WHEN THE OTHER PARTY SPEAKS WHICH IS REALLY ANNOYING. I'VE TRIED EVERY TROUBLESHOOTING TIP IN THE USERS MANUAL AND ON THE INTERNET WITH NO SUCCESS. I'D MAKE SURE YOU CAN GET A FULL REFUND BEFORE YOU BUY.

Bought this phone and was VERY happy with it for about 2 days. Great set of features, like the Google 411 capability and the fact it won't interfere with other wireless stuff in my house.

The only problem is that is has a very common issue in that it de-registers itelf from the base station continuously and has to be re-started by pulling the battery to re-register and make/anser a call. Search the internet for the model number and you will see several other people experiencing the same issue.

Mid-way through the first day of use, I pick up the phone to make a call and the handset beeps twice and is dead when I try to dial. Try dialing again, two-beeps nothing. It has de-registered itself from the base. I have to turn the phone over, open the back, pull the battery, put the battery back in, put the phone back in the phone base and wait for it to start up to make a cal. After that seems fine. A few hours later it does it again, same issue, same fix. I assume i didn't set something up right, read the instructions, and register the devices explicitly, things seem fine, but then a few hours later, same problem. It happens at least twice per day now, sometimes when I try to make a call, sometimes when I try to answer one and I miss the incoming call.

Bought this to replace an older wireless set that was showing signs of dying. I work from home a lot and need a land line to be able to reliably dial in to conference calls for a good part of the day where my mobile wasn't adequate (live in San Francisco and STILL couldn't get a decent signal from AT&T, switched to Sprint and now MUCH happier, but that is a different story).

Calls to G.E. customer service proved completely useless. They are well aware of this particular problem and told me if I send it in, they will send me a new one in 4-6 weeks. They indicated it is possible the new phone might have the same problem!!!! Plus, I 'll have to buy a new phone for the 4-6 weeks while I wait anyway.

Just going to pitch the G.E. in the trash and make a mental note not to ever buy G.E. or Thomson

As many others have commented, this phone blows. constantly have to unplug/replug in to make it work after getting blasted in the ear with static or get the double beep. I have a corded phone and oftentimes it will ring and this one won't. I bought the corded phone cuz it looks cool but my bf hates not having caller ID so I bought this for him just so he could check this phone's caller ID, right? well when the corded phone rings and this doesnt he wont answer and it won't even register who called. so he rushes to unplug/plug before it stops ringing. so lame.
another lame thing is that it doesn't stand up

I purchased this phone set because it had a speed dial feature. My wife has vision problems, and I thought that it would be easier for her to dial 1 number as opposed to 10. Setting up the speed dial was relatively easy to do, however the buttons on this phone are quite small and are not easy to find, therefore it rendered the phone all but useless for her use. Having said that, the phone works well, is quite easy to set up, and sound quality is very good.

I have just received this and got it set up. The quick-guide should be enough for anyone to get the phone set up. Plug in the phone cord, plug in the power cord, connect the rechargable batteries in the handset, and you're good to go.

One thing that did puzzle me; when you set the time and date on one handset, this is synchronized between all the handsets (handy). However, phone book entries are *not* synchronized between the handsets, so you'll end up having to enter all your phone numbers on each handset, which is a drag if you have a lot of entries. I can see pros and cons to having it this way, esp. if you assign a handset to specific family members, which will let them have their own numbers programmed. I cannot find a menu option to force the synch either.

Also, the phonebook is limited to 30 entries (per handset).

I also like how you can assign ring-tones to entries in the phone book, so that when that person calls you, you get the assigned ring tone rather than the one you set by default.

This phone might not work in some countries. I took it to Russia and discovered that it wouldn't work with some different kinds of electricity frequencies. I believe it might not work in some other Europe countries. Works great here in the US though.

I got these phones for couple month now, the phone sets work fine, but the battery life is worst, I fully charged the battery, left it there for 2 or 3 hours w/o using, it will indicate low battery!!! I have all 3 sets of these phones, all do the same:(

So far I am extremely happy with my new phones. Setting them up was a breeze. Love the fact that entering a speed dial number in one of the phones automatically puts it into all the phones. Sound quality is excellent and adjusting the volume on both handset and base works very well. Definitely would recommend to others.

Spending extra money on a "name brand" phone with 3 wireless handsets and caller ID seemed like a "smart move"....WRONG!! Problems began from the very start, even problems with PANASONIC CORPORATION keeping their word and replacing the units. First, the calller ID did not work very well on all of the phones- intermittent at best. This was a poor choice because we used the phones in our business, from the base unit to the office to the workshop-- we could hardly ever tell who was calling or who had called.

Several calls to technical support gave help but nothing changed the problem. Then we received AUTHORIZATION WITH a customer reference number for a complete replacement of all phones! The authorization was received within the 12 months warranty period. But ah-ah-ah. They did not receive the units within the 12 months warranty period, by the time we stopped trying to run the business long enough to buy replacement phones to use while they were being returned, locate packaging, pack and ship out by UPS. Panasonic Corporation received the phones but REFUSED to REPLACE THEM!!! but wanted $127.50 to repair them (HALF AGAIN THEIR ORIGINAL COST)!

Many frustrating callS to PANASONIC CORPORATION Customer Service ensued citing the authorization for replacement. This still ended in denial and refusal to help. More calls to supervisors ensued (after all a purchase of over $225 for phones should be worth something). Still refusal to keep their word to replace the phones.

Finally, another supervisor authorized the one time replacement of all three phones. She said she would email me a letter confirming this authorization --- ANd NEVER DID!! I faxed to her all the correspondence, model #'s, serial #'s, work orders as she requested. Some time later I get a refurbished base station with 2 of the phones but not the third phone. The refurbished phones only had 90 days warranty not 12 months that I had been promised. After about three weeks I placed several calls to PANASONIC CORPORATION to ask where my other phone set was, ultimately to get another supervisor who said THEY WERE WAITING FOR ME TO PAY THEM TO REPAIR IT!!!
I said that nothing had EVER been said about me paying for the repair of any of the purchased phones! I told them I would fax all of the correspondence to them which fully documented the full replacement of all units. While I was preparing the fax I got another call from PANASONIC CORPORATION telling me they were going to send my old unit back to me!! They said they were not going to replace the third phone as promised because they thought the problem with the caller ID was solved by sending me a refurbished base unit.

So how many lies were made by PANASONIC CORPORATION? Can you count them all?? I would not rate these phones even a "1" for poor because of PANASONIC CORPORATION being so corrupt from the beginning and so cheap that they wouldn't even send out a refurbished phone. The best rating I could give them would be a zero (0) or a minus something for all the heartburn and frustration I went through for a very poor quality product.

I upgraded a previous Panasonic system which was very similar to this one thinking I would be improving on a great product, boy was I wrong. I should have stayed with my older one until it gave out.
The reasons I choose Panasonic was simple:
1. I needed an expandable unit
2. No phone jack is needed for add on phones, merely an power outlet
3. You can listen to your messages from any handset, you do not need to go to the base unit to retrieve them and you can erase those messages from any handset

The major complaint I have is that within a very short period of purchasing the base unit the speaker in the handset thru which you hear your messages and speakerphone started cracking and then broke completely. It is a different speaker than you hear the caller thru.
I purchased an addt'l handset when they were back in stock and within 6 months it started doing the same thing.
I love the features of these phones. I need a 2 line phone and I also use the speakerphone on the handsets regularly so it is very important to me that it works.
I'm disappointed in the quality, even worse, I'm angry at myself for "upgrading" and not taking back the base unit immediately after it started cracking.

I have the base and three stations. This is so easy to use & program. Excellent manual. I especially like the ability to store all my business and friends and family on an easy to use built in phone book. It's not at all like a speed dial. After entering the name, and your choice of one or two numbers, (home or cell #) or whatever. Hit the phone book icon and the first letter of the persons name and find all your aunts & uncles.. You can program incoming ring sounds so you can tell if it friend or foe before you pick up. Don't want it to ring while your asleep, no problem. Want it to automatically upon pick up to be able to talk, no button press. No problem.. There are so many cool and programmable features with this phone system I could go on and on.

We use my cell phone as our home phone, but do have a land line for my husband's business. I bought this to allow a more "regular phone" feel to our home, instead of carrying my cell phone everywhere. I did not realize that the unit plugs into our land line and BOTH the landline AND the cell (via blue tooth) connect & work through the phone. Amazing! This is truly wonderful. It was very easy to pair. When I leave the house - it unpairs and when I come back in - it automatically re-pairs. I keep my cell phone in the dining room (separate room) and the base unit in the kitchen. No problem w/connection at all.

Thanks AT&T -- this is the perfect solution for us.

I purchased this to eliminate my land-line. I ported my home number to a cell number and added to my cell plan for $9.99 per month. For those wondering I use Verizon for both so this represents @39 per month savings. The phone was easy to setup. For a short while I used as a land line only, then my normal cell and land-line and now just ported cell number. I keep the base and the cell phone together so I do not have any pairing issues. When I leave the house I take my cell and leave the home cell behind.
Pros: Easy to setup and use, good sound quality, headset's are light and have a speaker option (nice).
Cons: None really but things you should understand Caller Id shows the Name of the Blue-tooth Phone not callers name it does show callers number. Once on cellular only you no longer have a answering machine on the base, your answering machine is your cellular voice mail.
One other thing to consider is if you have a alarm system most companies want to charge too much money to convert to cellular in my case @300 initial fee for hardware installation and another $10 additional per month monitoring fee. What I did was get the cheapest dial tone service available from Verizon @17 per month for my alarm system. Therefore my savings ended up being only $22 per month, so not to bad.

I bought this phone as the sellers description (CE Compass) clearly states it will work with MAC OS. Once the product arrived the packaging clearly states System Requirements of Windows 2000 or XP.

I downloaded SkypeMACmate to see if I could get it to work and it wouldn't connect.

Apologies to the manufacturer as the phone itself seems really nice, system requirements just being misrepresented by the seller.

i use skype all the time, and this hand-held phone is a great option for skype users.
the issue with skype is having to be sitting at the computer talking into a mic or into the keyboard. a "skype phone" eliminates this odd phone calling situation, but ONLY if your skype phone is at least in some way cordless/hand held. most skype phones are wired from the phone to the computer. this one is cordless in the sense that the actual phone can be picked up and used as a normal cordless phone, though the base is "corded" and connects to the computer via a cord.
the screen and controls are simple, which is good for use but also means it is a little limited in what it can do. but these limitations are only regarding the potential of the product, and users won't really be wanting it to do anything it doesn't already do.
overall, this is a great item for anyone using skype or another online/computer-based phone service.
it's great to be able to call someone for free online, and still pick up a phone to wander around the house/office!

If your computer have windows XP SP 2 Home Edition do not try to buy this product, it is imposible for the computer to recognize the telephone (green outside red phone signal). I have tried everything, there is not driver available that I have not tried, nothing worked. unfortunately for my it is more expensive returned than buy me a new one. What a buy, total waste of money.

The mother-in-law cannot read the numbers on our regular phones and has trouble hearing the ring. I bought a Clarity model at Radio Shack last year assuming all big-button phones are about the same. It looked handsome but was pricy, and I later saw that it did not get good reviews. Its performance turned intermittent in less than a year, then dead, not a good situation for the phone she relies on. A new battery could not revive it.

An hour of searching online reviews turned up this model as the best choice, so it was the Christmas gift (in October, so we've had several months experience with it now).

It is not so pretty, but the numbers are lit and huge, it flashes and rings loud, and we are all content. The call and hang-up buttons are not so big, so one must remember the placement of those two buttons if one's eyesight is suspect.

I work from my home office and on a daily basis participate on long conference calls. I bought this phone mainly because of the features that it offered. I wanted a "wired" phone so I would not have to worry about the battery dying during important calls and I also wanted wireless handsets to have the ability to move around if necessary. This purchase offered the best of both worlds. It has an excellent speaker phone which is invaluable knowing that participants can hear me clearly without breaking up and without spordiac interruptions that I have experienced with other speaker phones. The handsets (came with 2) have an extremely long battery life which was a nice surprise. I do not use the address book features, therefore, I cannot comment on that function. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

As a happy owner of the Panasonic KX-TG1035S model phone for the past 3 years, I decided to try the Panasonic 2-line KX-TG9392T phone. I decided to purchase the Panasonic 2-line model (KX-TG9392T) based on the features and reputation of quality Panasonic products. I am sorry to say that Panasonic dropped the ball on this phone. This phone feels very cheaply made and the ring tone sound quality is awful. This is nothing like my previous Panasonic phone. The only positive feature is that it comes with lighted keypads on the cordless units which is a nice touch.

I read several complaints on Amazon regarding the short reception distance of the cordless phone units that are included with the base unit. This wasn't really an issue for me since my home provides an open floor plan with minimal wall obstructions so I took the chance. I am sorry to say that I should have taken the advice of the reviews. The cordless phones that are included with the base unit only go 20 feet before losing connection. What is the point of having a cordless phone when it can only be used at a distance of a corded handset? This is a result of poor design and cost cutting efforts. It's hard to believe that Panasonic tested this product and let it go into production. I would not recommend this product and I would hesitate to purchase another Panasonic phone based on their new standards of quality.

I've had 2 lines in my home for about 25 years or so. In that time, I have really only found 1 two line cordless phone that I would consider a 4 to 5 star product. It was a Panasonic brand phone that I purchased about 15 years ago and it lasted about 5 years. Every other 2 line cordless phone that I've owned pretty much misses the mark in one way or another. This set is not an exception to that.

Basically, this unit does the job. It just doesn't do the job well. By that I mean that it sounds good, it has good range, the answering machine answers calls, the handsets have good battery life, callers hear you clearly. Where this phone misses it is in the details.

Examples of that on this phone:
1. The ringers. What the heck were the designers thinking? They're terrible! This makes it difficult to use this phone in an office environment. They are silly and annoying. Plus the ringer on the base unit and the handsets don't match.
2. Way too many button presses to access the phone book and caller id. Again, why make this so difficult?
3. Soft buttons for line 1 and line 2 on handsets. To me this one is huge. The phone has a lot of buttons on it. Why make the button you press the most a soft button? Makes no sense.

So again, this phone will more than likely do the job for your 2 line home/office. You'll just be slightly annoyed at how it does it.

DECT pulse frequency concern

It is important to put out a warning about DECT phones, as they could be up to 100 times worse than an ordinary mobile, particularly if used in built up areas. The reason for this is the frequency of the pulse. DECT pulses at 100Hz whilst a GSM mobile pulses at 217Hz. Remember, the lower the pulsing frequency, the stronger the biological effect. It's the pulsing within the ELF (extremely low frequency) range we have to be concerned about. That's why TETRA is so dangerous. It pulses at 17.6Hz, right within the human beta brainwave rhythm range. Dr von Klitzing, who was one of the Medical Physicists signing the Freiburger Appeal, reported his research regarding DECT phones. His research on blood samples taken from children in the vicinity of DECT phones showed that the red blood corpuscles did not `ripen out properly' (a direct translation of his words). The physical signs were: listlessness and/or aggression, pallor, sleeplessness etc. This could be reversed with the removal of the phone.
Choice

In your own home you have a choice, and it is yours. If you have reservations as a result of reading up on DECT, at least revert to an older style analogue cordless phone - or put up with wires!

Neighbours' phones are another matter. If you know where such a phone base is, you may decide to try foil on the wall in a large patch, to screen the DECT out. If it works, you might prefer to install it more permanently under wallpaper. But do note that microwaves tend to run around such barriers like water around a stone in a stream, so a small phone-sized patch will not work. (Findings from using an Acousticom detector.)

If you find your foil disrupts the neighbouring phone, you don't want to get into a dispute, with one of you moving the phone and the other moving the screen. Try and explain the problem in an open way, using the research listed here.

DECT in the office? Again an emotive subject. All your employer will do is refer to the Health and Safety Executive, who refer to the NRPB, who cite the ICNIRP (if it doesn't heat you it can't harm you) guidelines. These are wholly inappropriate, so employees have (a) no guidance and (b) no way to assess exposure in the office. The manufacturers give no advice on density of DECT per square metre. If you are sensitive to DECT, try to explain what you experience and ask for a wired phone.

These are excellent phones. I am not surprised because I have used their products before and found them always to be tops.

We needed phones in more places around our home than our previous units would support thus this new Motorola. Now a phone is almost
within reach all the time and the ability to put different ring tones on them is a plus also.

I like the fact the handsets are small, enabling me to slip one in my pocket and go outside with it. Range is good outdoors also.

I am going to exchange the location with the base station and one of the others because the base is beside my bed and if it rings while I am
taking a nap it wakes me! By changing I will stop the ringing so close by.

These phones keep all their data stored in the individual handsets. That means you have to enter your phonebook of 30 entries (yes, only 30) 4 times including ringtones, speed dials, etc... Also, the callerID information is kept separately on each handset so if you want to clear the memory or get rid of the "XX new calls" message, then you have to do it on every handset.

The phone only has 10 available ring tones. My cell phone from the 90's had more than that. Way too many button presses to get into and out of phonebook for changes. Come on Motorola, I would have expected much better.

I think I will spend the time I would need to spend entering the phonebook over and over doing something more productive, like boxing it up and ordering something else!
