What Would Christ Say to Our Church?
Revelation 1:1-3 (pg. 1453 in Pew Bible)

What makes someone faithful to God? What makes them pure?
(Rev 1:9,2:7,11,17,26,3:21,6:9,7: 14-17,12: 11,14:3-5,17: 14,19:7-8)

Blood ofthe Lamb: the power to live in purity & faithfulness.

Freedom from the pursuit of perfection. Ephesians 2:8-9
Freedom from the stumbles and falls of our daily lives. Lam 3:21-23
Freedom to walk in newness of life. Romans 6: 12 -14

Word of Our Testimony: Purity that points to Jesus.

How do we live a life ofpurity that points to Jesus?
Resist the devil. (Fight against our sins.) James 4:7, Genesis 4:7
Daily Confession. (Fierce moral inventory) 1 John 1:9
What kinds of questions should I be asking?
Am I holding a grudge or haven't forgiven someone?
Is there anyone that I hate and refuse to love?
Am I harboring feelings of bitterness, resentment, or jealousy?
Am I angry and impatient with others?
Do I have outbursts of anger?
Am I harsh, unkind, or sarcastic to family, friends, etc.?
Have I lied or stretched the truth about anything today?
Are there sinful habits in my life?

Not loving our life: thriving in God's faithfulness to us.

How do we live in faithful obedience to God even in difficulty?
Learn the tricks of our adversary. Job 1:11, 2:4
Rest in God's faithfulness to you and for you.
2 Timothy 2: 13, Philippians 1:6, John 10:29
Be satisfied: God has you right where He wants you.
Philippians 4:11-13

What would motivate you to endure suffering and persecution?

Eat of the tree of life in the paradise of God (Rev 2:7)
Not hurt by the second death (Rev 2: I I)
Hidden manna & new name (Rev 2: 17)
Name will never be erased from the Book of Life (Rev 3:5)
Pillar in the temple of God (Rev 3: 12)
Never hunger or thirst (Rev 7: 14-1 7)
Wipe away all tears (Rev 21 :4-5)
Rest from hardship & troubles (Rev 7: 14-1 7)
See Jesus face to face (Rev 22: 1-5)

What would bring you peace and comfort during difficult times?

(Guard your mind)
Colossians 3: 1-4, Philippians 4:8

How could you rest in happiness (blessing)? I John 2: 16, Matthew

What Would Christ Say to Our Church?:Revelation 1:1-3

Blessed (happy) is the one who lives by these promises:
We are blessed because Jesus is in control of all things. (Rev 1:1,5,8,18; 4:11; 17:14; 19:19-21; 21:4)
Jesus controls the entire universe. (Colossians 1: 17, Heb 1:3)
Jesus controls life, breath, and all our days. (Psalm 139, Acts 17:25)
Jesus determines the rise and fall of nations. (Daniel 2:21, Acts 17:26, Job 12:23)
Jesus controls nature. (Psalm 135:5-7, Job 38:25-35, Mark 4:25-41)
Jesus controls the duration and intensity of our trials. (Job 1:12,2:6)

Why does God allow things to happen the way that they do? Revelation 9:20

How does blessing come/from resting in Jesus' total control? Psalm 46:10, Proverbs 3:5-8

We are blessed because God will end all suffering. pain. and evil. (Rev 1:4-8; 5:9-10; 6:9-11; 7:14-17; 11:15-19; 19:20-21; 20:10,14)

How do we apply this to our daily lives? 2 Corinthians 1 :3-4
Our troubles do not last forever & don't have final say over our life. 2 Corinthians 4: 16-17, 1 Corinthians 10: 13
God's grace is sufficient & powerful in all our trials. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Any suffering, pain, or trial can't compare with heaven. Romans 8:18

I would not give one moment of heaven for all the joy and riches of the world, even if it lastedfor thousands and thousands of years.
