September Think Tank, Focusing on Small Business Challenges and How Your Network Has/Can Help

After the success of our “New Year, New You campaign, Cork Women in Business are following up with an Autumn Program. “Networking Without Expectation”
A lot of the time when we hear the word “networking” we get lots of visions of rooms full of people passing business cards to each other and not really listening to what is being said. We are sometimes faced with the stomach churning roller coaster that is the “Elevator Pitch”. And then subjected to seeing the same people yo-yo referrals back and forth… Now, that is probably a little inflammatory of me, and it isn’t that bad, but to some, it is…
We have spent the last two years of Cork Women in Business, Advice and Support building a “network” of women who want to help and share their experiences with others. At our monthly meetings we have had guest speakers and mentors, a photo-shoot, training in areas like Sales and Accounts we have even iced cup-cakes. All because we are in business, need support and want to support others. Two years ago when we launched CWiBA&S we wanted to create an environment where women felt comfortable to network in any manor they chose. And we have been extremely successful at this. We now want to take these ideas forward and hope you are ready to join us on this new leg of CWiBA&S’s journey.

Here is our season Schedule;

On September 4th our meeting is titled; September Think Tank, Focusing on Small Business Challenges and How Your Network Has/Can Help.
On October 2nd our meeting is titled; Business with a Twist: It Takes two! (This will be open to Men and Women, so let your friends and family know we are opening the doors again)

7:00pm Start at Venue to be confirmed

Sandwiches & Tea and Coffee will be served at the start.

On November 6th our meeting is titled; Rounding Up Your Year, Planning the Next. (This will be a motivational meeting to help us to plan for our businesses in 2013) Guest Speaker TBA

December; Party Party Party! (Date and Venue to be confirmed)

We want our members and guest to join us in a new style meeting where we will open the floor to you, join us and ask questions, answer questions and if you would like to, tell your story. If you wish to speak at September’s event please contact me at; torihawthorne@gmail.com and I can plan for your time.
Refreshments will be available before we start some sandwiches, tea and coffee.

Hi all. Thank you so much to Teresa O’Brien, Unforgettable Flowers/IrishFoodie.ie for hosting Junes meeting in her gorgeous new premises. A great night was had by all.

Here at Cork Women in Business, Advice & Support, we all know how busy life can get…. With this in mind we have no meetings this July and August. We will be back in September with an exciting calender to take us to the end of the Year.

In July we will be posting information of our wonderful line up of Autumn/Winter events which we promise will complete what has been a fantastic year for Cork Women in Business, Advice & Support

We are very lucky to have pinned down Graham Royce, who is going to talk to us about using our networks and cover many common pitfalls for businesses.

Graham has mentored over 200 businesses and start-ups while working for the Hartnett Centre. He is the Hartnett Centre Manager & New Frontiers Programme Manager 2012.
