Which is Better, Chrome or Firefox?

Today, there are lots of browsers in which there are some browsers which are really standing out just like Safari and Opera. But from all of those, which one of those browsers is the best?

For me, I've been using a couple from those browsers for quite a long time, the Google Chrome and the Mozilla Firefox. As a web developer, I am aware too on this cross-browsing competition of different browsers.

Firefox is fast and has a user-friendly "element inspection feature" for web pages which I like. But later, I tried my development projects using Chrome as the main browser. I saw some differences between the two. Chrome was also fast and has a lot of features like recent message chat-prompter while using the browser. Also, just like Firefox, Chrome has a user-friendly element inspection feature too but has less design than Firefox. But what I like the most from Chrome was the "developers tool" feature in which it has all the package for developing a webpage while on run-time. It also has a JavaScript console where you can see scripts from your running web pages. Now, I always use Chrome and sometimes Firefox based on situations and needs.

Anyway, based from your experience, what will be your choice? Which is better, Chrome or Firefox?

Experiencing Slow Browsing and Poor PC Performance

There was a time that I am struggling to load pages from my current browser. I did everything just to make my browsing experience more faster and better. I scanned the system from some malwares or viruses but it had negative results. I tried emptying some folders and uninstalled some programs just to free up more space but my PC performance was still poor. The pages from my browser appeared to load very slow and the unit's performance too!

Then I tried pressing CTRL+ALT+Delete keys at the same time --- (opening the task manager window). I checked all the programs running and found out that I was only running two programs - my browser and the task manager window. I tried checking also all the processes but there were lots of idle processes which means that the system is getting a low percentage of system usage which seems good. But it still bugs me on what's really the reason why I'm having this poor and slow performance.

After checking those two - (Processes and Performance tabs from Task Manager), I noticed that my PF usage (Page File) reached 1.4Gb or something. Then, I observed the changes of the PF History that keeps on increasing. As time passes, the PC is getting even more slower. After few seconds of observation, my computer halted or stopped as if it was hanged. I was then forced to restart it.

After rebooting and starting up my computer, I decided to ask Google about page files. I opened my favorite browser and decided not to open and run any programs or application except the browser just to be safe. While on my browser, I opened only one window. Then I started to search and looked for information about page files.

I have learned from some sites that I have visited, that this page file usage is using the RAM (Random Access Memory) which affects the performance of the computer. So in order to have a better performance, there must be enough free space for the RAM to breath and to run programs by not taking all the space from its memory. It also means that having too large of memory usage is just like having a high page file usage. Also, I learned that if you are opening too many tabs or windows, page files are running and using a large memory to occupy much of the RAM too. That's why I realized and found out the reason why I'm experiencing this problem from my computer.

Finally, I decided to open two or three windows from my browser and maintained a 500Mb to 700Mb of page file usage in which I had a better performance and a fast browsing experience. Therefore, opening too many windows from the browser really affects PC performance; and having just a few gives you a better and fast browsing experience.

Password Masking Can Be Revealed Through Bookmarking

Hacking accounts are rampant in internet world especially in some social networks. We are sometimes confused when we did update our profiles and even can't remember the changes we have made. Have you thought of it that maybe your account was hacked?

This article may help you in a simple way on how to secure your accounts. We will assume that you are attempting to log in now at a site using your account. In the image example above, your password is masked by a system masking feature. Systems, websites, and web browsers has this feature to hide and secure your password. But how secure is it? As you have noticed in the image above and on the second image below, your password was revealed. How did they do this? Websites don't have glitches or faults in this. Users that uses your computer may have done this. Be always aware of using public computers always or even on your personal computer that you might not know that someone is using it.

The thing they did is just a simple unmasking program using Javascript. Javascript is a scripting or a programming language that can control or manipulate and can make changes on a particular element on a web page. If this script is being place in a bookmark on your web browser, they will just click the bookmark and your password will be revealed. This method is called password unmasking.

The simple thing you need to do is don't tick the checkbox object "KEEP ME LOGGED IN" or "REMEMBER ME" or something like that. Just leave it unmarked. If you mark it, the site will remember your account using cookies and caches from your sessions; and after you logged out, your account is still there. That's the opportunity for the hackers to use the script to reveal your password. So let it be a habit for you to unmark that checkbox always to secure your accounts.

Having Safe and Secured Browsing Experience

Browsing the web is one way to gather data and find some useful and interesting things in the internet, yet it is sometimes dangerous especially when encountering sites that has malwares. But these dangerous threats may some of those things that we need to watch. It is true that we need to be aware of this especially to protect our files and our computer. But the real deal is when encountering things like an account that has been hacked.

For example, when you're using Gmail, an e-mail hosting and manager from Google, can be an advantage to account hackers sometimes. An example of this when you are currently opening your e-mail. It means that your account in Gmail is currently active and open. It also means that all the pages, data, site, and almost everything you do in your browser are being recorded to a cache especially for Google when your account is currently open. When you check your history in your Google account, all your activities are recorded there. It means that those people can track from the sites you are visiting from the files you are downloading. But at least we are secure from the policy we agreed upon creating an account from Google that they will keep confidential and personal information. So we don't need to worry about that.

The only thing we need to worry is when we browse a site that can use these credentials when our Google account is currently open. It can too same in our facebook accounts.

So just a nice tip from me, logout from all your account when browsing multiple sites, especially those accounts that is important and may use from hacking your financial accounts.

New Blog Site Launched for Download Seekers

Last Sunday, May 12, 2013, Download Links site was launched for free sourcing of download links for download seekers.

The site is providing users with links for downloads like movies, games, music, documents, and any files or software they wish to download. Also the site gives users privilege to request things they want to download.

The site was recently launched and it was expected to have less files to download.

Files that were downloaded by users were not from the author but from third-party sites and were linked in just to make it easier to locate and download files directly without browsing some confusing and full of advertisements downloading sites.

Two Years of Blogging

I started blogging since February 2011 yet I was not able to established a steady blog site yet. My thoughts seems not anchored in the world of writing. But this time, and for more than 2 years of trying to do blogging, I decided to make this time, this blog site, more stable than my other blogs.

People whom I knew looked at me as a computer savvy and they'd thought that I am good to this. Maybe they were right and maybe they were wrong.

Anyway, I can't explain all of it... but let's just see what comes next... now, here goes my new blog --- Corny King.
