WorkDynamics has partnered with Seregon to offer its clients Mobile Application Platform (MAP) applications for ccmMercury and other applications for use on iPhones, Windows Mobiles, Symbians, Androids and Blackberries.

We can develop custom systems that allow our clients to use their handheld devices to receive actions to perform, and to send data back to their home base.

The data is secure: Each request requires the user login info for authentication. This information is stored on the device in a non-human-readable form in the device application memory, which cannot be accessed by other applications. Additionally, the user must login to access the application, and will be required to log in again after a configurable amount of idle time.

We are currently working with a number of Canadian Federal Government departments to address their needs, such as to develop system to integrate with Helpdesk software, manage inspections and security.

As a partner of Open Text, WorkDynamics was pleased to attend the Open Text Canadian Public Sector Content Days 2009 event held in Ottawa, Ontario on September 15 and 16, 2009.

WorkDynamics was a Breakout Session guest speaker, discussing the functions and benefits of the software, the variety of applications that have been developed for our clients, its integration with document management software, our optional modules, such as E-forms, MX Exchange, and MAP technology, and our future development plans.

WorkDynamics also provided demonstrations of its current workflow management software, ccmMercury, as well as its upcoming product, ccmEnterprise. Our products are integrated with DM and will also be fully-integrated with LiveLink.

Transport Canada Success Story

CCM software has long been in use over at Transport Canada. In fact, they were our very first client way back in 1982.

Over the years, Transport Canada has become a forerunner in the Canadian Government, implementing department-wide solutions to better manage their work.

In a recent article published by Open Text, Chris Molinski, Chief Information Officer and Director General, Technology Information Management Services Directorate (TIMSD), Transport Canada said:

“Transport Canada (TC) was the first Government of Canada department to complete full desktop national deployment to the enterprise and has continued to operate successfully for over eight years. With over four million records, more than 30 business process ccmMercury applications, and 5,200 users TC’s RDIMS and ccmMercury is the largest single library deployment in the Canadian public sector. To implement a full ECM solution, TC was the first department to fully integrate ccmMercury with RDIMS to achieve its performance measurement challenges and unique business process solutions. ECM is now a mission critical application for the department’s managers and staff.”

Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation wins big with ccmMercury!

In June and July of 2008, WorkDynamics took on the task of configuring three distinct databases for the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation. These databases will help the SGC to better manage their workload and keep on top of their incoming information.

The Comment Tracking Database tracks the responses to comment cards submitted to the casino. SGC staffers respond to the questions and comments as required, and reports are run to determine what kinds of comments are given in an effort to continuously improve performance and customer service.
The Correspondence and Sponsorship System tracks the correspondence items that are received by the casino, including numerous sponsorship requests. The database allows the users to manage the preparation of responses.
The Event and Contact Management Database tracks who is invited to the various events held at the casino. The database is also used to store the contact information for each invitee. Invitations can be generated directly from the database.

The project entailed business analysis, database customization, training and start-up support and WorkDynamics is confident that the SGC will come out a winner with ccmMercury!

Canadian Heritage ccmMercury/RDIMS Implementation Successfully Completed

Over the past year and a half, WorkDynamics was instrumental in assisting the Department of Canadian Heritage in reviewing and revamping a variety of business processes for managing their correspondence, invitations and communications products while upgrading to ccmMercury from CCM Plus.

Canadian Heritage is responsible for national policies and programs that promote Canadian content, foster cultural participation, active citizenship and participation in Canada's civic life, and strengthen connections among Canadians.

Building upon the integration between ccmMercury and RDIMS, this particular project enabled the department to embrace the electronic management of documents, with the implementation of scanning paper documents. These and other electronic documents are managed in RDIMS, while their associated workflow, tracking their creation, approval and completion, is managed within ccmMercury. The use of these two solutions together allows users to see the complete history of a file from its origins to its completion, including all comments, routings and links to all related documents, each with their own history.

To ensure proper ongoing management of the business processes, WorkDynamics created custom training materials and associated documents, and provided intensive ccmMercury/RDIMS training to Canadian Heritage users across the country, ensuring that they were able to understand the improvements to their business processes and to properly use the software to its full advantage.

Elections Canada Invests is ccmMercury to manage Business Processes

Elections Canada is an independent, non-partisan agency that reports directly to Parliament. When the situation calls for it, Elections Canada must be prepared to conduct a federal general election, by-election or referendum, administer the political financing provisions of the Canada Elections Act, monitor compliance and enforce electoral legislation. Elections Canada is also mandated to conduct voter education and information programs, and provide support to the independent boundaries commissions in charge of adjusting the boundaries of federal electoral districts following each decennial census. Finally, Elections Canada may carry out studies on alternative voting methods and, with the approval of Parliament, test electronic voting processes for future use during electoral events.

The Office through which the Chief Electoral Officer carries out this mandate normally comprises a group of some 330 employees working in Ottawa. During a general election or referendum, more than 160,000 people are employed by returning officers across the country. A returning officer in each electoral district administers the election to choose a member of Parliament. ccmMercury offers automation and electronic management that will assist Elections Canada with their handling of important, process related documents. Public Prosecution Service of Canada Acquires ccmMercury

WorkDynamics welcomes the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) as its newest client. Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) is now using ccmMercury as the product of choice for electronic management and tracking of Ministerial Correspondence.

The Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) is a new department of the Government of Canada. It was created by the Director of Public Prosecutions Act on December 12, 2006, when Part 3 of the Federal Accountability Act came into force. Its mandate is to initiate and conduct prosecutions under federal jurisdiction and to intervene in cases affecting prosecutions and investigations. The PPSC also provides advice to law enforcement agencies and investigative bodies on investigations that may lead to prosecutions. The PPSC is independent of the Department of Justice Canada and reports to Parliament through the Attorney General.

DIMES - Working Group Recommendations

Directorate Information Management enabling Services (DIMES) Office - Canadian Federal Government

The Executive Correspondence Management Working Group's (ECMWG) evaluation of three business solutions for executive correspondence management was tabled at the Enterprise Information Management Advisory Committee (EIMAC) on February 2006.

An email was circulated to the RDIMS Board of Directors with recommendations from the ECM report, including the recommendations tabled in February of 2006, as being the definitive recommendations of the Executive Correspondence Management Working Group, and the DIMES office.

Agriculture Canada Acquires ccmMercury

WorkDynamics is pleased to announce that Agriculture Canada has acquired ccmMercury licenses from WorkDynamics Technologies Inc. Agriculture acquired these licenses in January of 2007.

Agriculture Canada plans to use these licenses to handle Correspondence Management within the department. It was recognized that the ccmMercury application has a significant level of integration with the RDIMS suite of products (currently being used), and that henceforth this interaction will provide a substantial benefit to the user community.

Correspondence Management at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recently implemented ccmMercury for users across the country, as the software of choice for tracking executive correspondence. Documents originating either in the President's office, or assigned to the President by the Minister of Agriculture or AGRI-Food Canada, are tracked using the ccmMercury application. All users can instantaneously see their current tasks, their overall workload, and to assist in making sure the information is timely, email notifications are sent automatically as new documents are assigned, thereby eliminating the need personally advise of upcoming work.

ccmMercury at CFIA has been fully integrated with RDIMS (the Federal Government of Canada's official document repository system), and originals of the incoming and outgoing correspondence are scanned and saved to RDIMS. The response letter and any supporting documents are also saved in RDIMS and attached to the CCM record, allowing users in any location to view the status of the record and the response, in real time. Regional users no longer need to wait for a faxed or paper copy of any document, cutting down the amount of time waiting for information.

Customized reports allow management to easily track current and up-coming workload and identify bottlenecks in their processes, which allows them to allocate resources as necessary. This will allow them to spend more time actually processing the requests and less time trying to find out their status, which should translate into better turnaround times for the responses, and therefore happier clients.

Canadian Judicial Council Tracks Complaints in ccmMercury

Workflow features used to manage complaint handling procedure

Today WorkDynamics announces the completion of the ccmMercury project for tracking and managing the complaints process at the Canadian Judicial Council (CJC).

Ensuring Canadian’s Concerns are Heard

A key part of the mandate of the Canadian Judicial Council is to receive and investigate complaints about the conduct of federally appointed judges using a clearly defined procedure. WorkDynamics defined and implemented a ccmMercury database and workflow to guide each complaint through the correct procedure and ensure the appropriate CJC lawyers have access to the flow of information at any time.

This project replaced a legacy Complaints database application with ccmMercury, a powerful tool that allows the CJC staff and lawyers to easily store, manage, track and monitor each Complaint case file. ccmMercury carefully controls who has the right to obtain access to each document through a series of rules based on the information in specific fields. If authorized, a CJC lawyer can launch a document from the case file (in either official language), make modifications and either save it or create a new version.

CJC reviews often include researching prior cases for precedents and the search capabilities of ccmMercury significantly reduce the research time needed. This helps to ensure that CJC meets its goal of responding to each complaint in a timely manner.

WorkDynamics Completes Initial ccmMercury Implementation at Canada Border Services Agency

Pilot project uses ccmMercury to track ministerial and executive correspondence

Today we announce the completion of the initial ccmMercury implementation at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Ministerial and Executive Correspondence

This pilot project created an executive correspondence database to track all documents (both internal and external) that need to go to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada (PSEPC) or to the President of the CBSA. In addition to incoming letters, the documents being tracked include briefing notes, memos, speaking notes and paperwork for other internal processes. ccmMercury is already used to manage correspondence and paperwork within PSEPC.

The ccmMercury implementation is configured to streamline the internal business processes used within the CBSA for handling correspondence. ccmMercury keeps all of the information about each item of correspondence in one place, which allows authorized CBSA personnel to instantly find information and to respond quickly to enquiries from other departments and constituents
