Thanks to our friend Berry Lowman, we have photos of the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport that Chevy took to SEMA to showcase a new lineup of Genuine Corvette Accessories. We see several of the new accessories listed in the Chevy press release like the "Tech" patterned engine covers and interior console trim, but we also see a new 7-spoke chrome wheel with a Corvette logo insert on display as well. Kerbeck Corvette held their 6th annual Toys for Tots Corvette run and and the Corvette community turned out big time! Over 800 Corvettes showed up bearing more than 3,000 toys that will be distributed by the Marines to underprivledged kids during the holidays. Former Chief Engineer Dave McLellan led the procession of new and classic Corvettes and even the police escorts showed their support! A Corvette wave goes out to all who participated!

SEMA 2009: Accessorized Corvette Grand Sport with Heritage Package

Earlier this year, Chevrolet announced the return of the Corvette Grand Sport model. It?s a track-oriented Corvette with wider wheels and tires, special suspension tuning and unique exterior details. The Corvette Grand Sport achieves a 0-60 time of less than four seconds, pulls 1.0 g on the skid pad and still boasts an EPA-rated highway fuel economy 26 mpg. GM is now at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas where they announced a slew of cool accessories for the new Grand Sport. [More]

October 2009 Corvette Sales

GM released the October sales report today that shows 1,154 Corvettes were delivered last month. This is a decrease of 27% over September's 1,585 deliveries and 1.4% off October 2008's sales of 1,170. For the calendar year (January-October) 11,949 Corvettes have been delivered, a decreased of 51.3% from the 24,554 Corvettes sold over the same time period in 2008. [More]

This custom Corvette is billed as a tribute to the late Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, creator of the memorable Rat Fink character and a key player in the 1960's custom/hot rod movement in Southern California. The converted C3 features an open engine bay and a bubble-top roof, and the rear end is?well, you just have to see it. GM Renames The Corvette Stingray Concept and Dishes Up New Images

General Motors released a batch of new images of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Concept. In the press release, Chevy gives the Transformer's movie car the official name of "50th Anniversary Corvette Stingray Concept". The 50th Anniversary refers to the original Stingray racer built by Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov in 1959. [More]

Corvette Z06-based Specter Werkes C6 GTR Heading to SEMA

Now that SEMA is just around the corner, the Troy, Michigan-based tuner has unleashed perhaps the best variant yet to the GTR family - this one featuring BASF Blue Pearl paint, HRE Carbon Fiber wheels and a twin turbo LS7 V8 courtesy of Lingenfelter which produces a mind-blowing 800 horsepower. Corvette Racing's Win at Mosport Voted ALMS Story of the Year

American Le Mans fans have voted Corvette Racing's first GT2 win at Mosport in August as the series story of the year. If you remember, Mosport was just the third race in the GT2 class for the new ZR1-based Corvette C6.R. It was also Johnny O'Connell's 100th start in an ALMS race. The #3 Corvette C6.R fended off an epic challenge by the #62 Risi Ferrari in the closing minutes at Mosport, but Jan Magnussen was able to stay in front for the win. [More]

This may be the first bone-stock Corvette ZR1 to run the quarter mile in the 10's. Corvette Forum's Racerns posted video and the time slip from last Monday's drag run at Maryland International Raceway. Following the bone stock quarter mile runs, the Corvette ZR1 switched to drag radials and the forum's "Ranger" dialed up an even faster run of 10.730 @ 132.46 mph. I received this youtube video link from John in California. The amateur video shot from the stands shows the conclusion of the ALMS race at Laguna Seca. The video clearly captures what we believed the sequence of events were all along: Magnussen was in front of Bergmeister in the Flying Lizards Porsche and was pulling away. Contact between the two cars caused the #3 Corvette C6.R to spin in front of the #45 Porsche and hard into the inside wall. [More]
