So what is gratitude? It is to be grateful and thankful and to see those things that we appreciate and recognise as gifts in our lives.

Here are some things that you might like to be grateful for, if you are not already.

If you are blessed with relatively good health or you have access to health care then you are considerably luckier than more than one million people in the world who will not see out the end of this week.

If you can celebrate that which you feel passionately about with freedom of speech and you can attend the church of your choice this Sunday then you are luckier than over three billion other people in this world today.If you have a roof over your head tonight and you can eat something today then you are luckier and richer than over seventy-five percent of the entire world’s population.If you have never experienced the fear of war, soul rending agony and terror of torture, the loneliness of forced imprisonment or the feeling of starvation then you are luckier that over five hundred million other people in the world today.

If you can read this email, which of course you can or you wouldn’t have a computer (unlike over ninety five percent of the world’s population) then you are better off than over two billion people in the world who cannot read or write.On top of all those amazing blessings you are far more than your physical self and you have many friends in other dimensions of possibility who care about you and your well-being. Some call these beings guides, others refer to them as soul friends and soul groups. Their names are nothing compared to their love for you and their belief in what you can achieve.

I carry a symbolic talisman in my wallet and every time I open it I make a conscious effort to thank the universe for one thing that I have to be grateful for today. By the time I go to bed I have usually said a mental thank you for at least five or six things each day. Ever since I started that little routine I have changed a little each day and with it my life too has changed.

The traditional source for the purple quartz known as amethyst is Brazil. Large deposits were found in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais in the 19th century. Amethyst occurs there in volcanic rocks in large geodes. Since the first discoveries amethyst has been found in a number of locations in Brazil, as well as across the border in Uruguay. Bolivia, famous for ametrine, also produces some amethyst.

Though the vast majority of the amethyst in the market is from Brazil and Uruguay, gem dealers will tell you that the finest amethyst comes from Africa. The African material is mainly from Zambia in southern Africa, with some very limited production from Tanzania and Namibia.

Though African amethyst is much less common than the vast production from South America, the quality tends to be much higher. Where much of the South American amethyst is a pale violet or mid-toned purple, the Zambian amethyst tends to a highly saturated deep purple, sometimes with blue or red flashes. The richer color is very much in demand for finer jewelry, so the African amethyst tends to sell for a premium price. The Zambian amethyst is such a saturated purple that some material has to be rejected as too dark, a problem that hardly ever occurs with South American amethyst.

Another important difference between the locations is that the African amethyst tends to be found only in smaller sizes, while the South American amethyst can be found in very large sizes, even 40 or 50 carats or more. Zambian amethyst over 10 carats is very rare. Where reasonable quality amethyst from South America typically sells for about $5 per carat, the high quality deep purple from Zambia sells for $15 to $25 per carat.

High quality amethyst was first discovered in Zambia in the 1950′s. The material was located in a 30 km long by 15 km wide belt in the south of the country in the Mwakambiko hills of the Mapatizya area. The current production of rough material is estimated at about 700 tons per year.

Despite the limited production, amethyst mining has become important economically. The Zambian economy was once based largely on copper mining. The economy is now diversifying and gemstone mining has the potential to be a major source of employment and foreign exchange. In addition to its high quality amethyst, Zambia has the 2nd largest emerald deposit in the world, and the Zambian emerald is famed for its deep green color and excellent clarity. The country also has significant deposits of aquamarine, tourmaline and garnet.

Always wash your hands after handling crystals. Often they are treated with chemicals and acids – residues of these products may remain on the surface causing skin irritations or toxic residues could be passed onto food via the hands. Similarly, ensure your patients wash their hands, if you have asked them to hold crystals during healing. Do not place crystals in the mouth.

Most crystals are safe to hold. The exceptions are REALGAR ARSENIC and CINNABAR – not commonly available but if handled do so with extreme care, they are POISONOUS. Small dust particles from MALACHITE can cause irritations of the lungs and skin. If handling rough, unpolished pieces do so with care and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. You may prefer to work with polished pieces, tumblestones, spheres etc. If the surface has been treated in this way there will no loose and potentially harmful particles on the surface.

Do not make gem elixirs unless you have a thorough knowledge of the subject. With many very commonly available crystals, it is not safe to immerse the crystal in water with a view to drinking the solution. Be extra careful with crystals which contain: Copper, Lead, Sulphur, Mercury, Uranium Arsenic as this will produce a poisonous elixir!

Typical examples of crystals containing one of these elements which would produce a harmful elixir are: turquoise and malachite.

1) IKE - the world is what you think it is – BE AWARE
When one is aware of their thoughts, words and actions in nearly every moment throughout their day one can after a period of time by choosing a more positive, peaceful, loving and compassionate way of being find that the path that they are on soon becomes nothing but positive, peaceful, loving and compassionate. Being aware of how we act and react to everyday circumstances gives us a clear understanding of ourselves and the people and environment that is around us,e.g. are we a positive person, do we have compassion for our fellow human beings when they are crying out for help (yelling at us, blaming us for their unhappy circumstances etc.) I believe fully that when people are showing anger, frustration and aggression towards us they in away cant even see us they’re looking straight in a mirror talking to themselves its just that you are there for them to express how they are truly feeling deep inside.(So don’t take it personally just listen and love them). By being aware we take reasonability for everything in our world we can change it for the better if we so choose, so be aware of what’s working and not working in your life and change it have a clear plan and go for it NOW.

2) KALA - there are no limits, BE FREE
There are no limits in this universe if we fully understand and believe this, the only thing on this 3 dimensional earth plane that has limits is our own mind, nine times out of ten due to conditioning from society and our upbringing that the only thing stopping us from reaching our full potential, our goals and dreams is our mind. So start NOW changing your thought patterns, beliefs and habits that hold you back believe me you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, as I say we only get one crack at this lifetime(I fully believe in reincarnation) though you only have this lifetime once, there has never been in the history of the universe and never will be a set of circumstances that you find yourself in now, there will never be another like you and never has been another like you, your unique just like every other being in the universe. So please make the most of every year ,week, day, hour and second, live your dream be that amazing being you came here to be because every year, week, day, hour and second you don’t is another precious moment we never get back so choose NOW to be free.

3) MAKIA - energy goes where attention goes – BE FOCUSED
Put all your energy into achieving what you want out of this life, be focused and clear on what it really is you want. Place your energy into having a happy, joyful and loving life NOW. Focus your attention on what makes your heart sing and open up fully, take steps in achieving what you consider a fulfilling life and remember yours is most certainly going to be different to the other four billion people that live on this planet so encourage others to do the same and live and let live.

4) MANAWA – now is the moment of power – BE HERE
Especially in today’s world we all tend to be living either in the past or in the future and are certainly not in the present moment. When your either in the past or future our energy becomes scattered and drained, we miss so many opportunities by not being in the moment .When we take control and be present we can achieve so much more, experience so much and understand so much more. We certainly get more done emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. By being in the NOW we allow ourselves to fully take in what’s happening around us for example, what do we usually do when we simply go for a lovely walk our mind starts thinking what do I have to do tomorrow at work, I wonder what I will do this weekend, it was upsetting how my husband/wife spoke to me yesterday it really annoys me and so forth, if you’d been in the moment you would have noticed the wonderful sights, smells, noises and so on, on your little journey these are god/desses gifts to us that when we are in the NOW we fully experience all of what this beautiful world has to offer(and its allot more fun anyway those things can wait till you get home,enjoy the NOW).

5) ALOHA - To love is to be happy with – BE HAPPY
This really sums everything up and that is love I understand that love is the key to a wonderful happy and fulfilling life this is what every being should strive for, for love is everything so give it, be it, receive it, become it and fully embrace it at all times. Love is the highest, strongest and most purest form of energy in the universe this is the key to life the fundamental reason that we exist, why we go through all of these experiences this is the answer to life, it really is pretty simple but in the same breath so hard to achieve. So choose NOW to start unconditionally loving yourself for if we don’t love ourselves unconditionally how can we truly love another we cannot give to another what we don’t truly have for ourselves, its distorted conditional love
that we try to give to another if we don’t love ourselves. So just love.

6) MANA - all power comes from within – BE CONFIDENT
True power that is from the heart and not from ego is very essential to achieving your goals. We need to be strong, confident and courageous to fulfill our potential on this planet. It really is the driving force that helps us push through the hard times on this earth, and when the power is pure it drives us to help ourselves and inspire others to do the same. So as with love, strive for clear power and build your mana everyday. See yourself to be full of confidence NOW.. choose to be a confident person NOW.. cultivate this energy and harness its full power and you will move mountains.

7) PONO - effectiveness is the measure of truth – Be POSITIVE
In this day and age it is very hard to stay positive when a lot of what’s going on around us seems so negative. The effect of both these energies can be very strong and especially negative energy and thought can be sometimes overwhelming. So remember its all about attitude, having a positive outlook on life, try and be positive as much as possible.. And before you know it everything in your life will become positive. I believe like attracts like.. Be positive NOW and soon you will start attracting positive people, situations and outcomes.

Colorful opaque pebbles were used in 25,000BC as forms of adornment and decoration. The Ancient Egyptians made use of crystals especially Lapis Lazuli, which had been mined in Afghanistan. This has been found in tombs that date back to 5,000BC. Turquoise and Amethyst were also popular.

The Greek alchemist Theophrastus (approx. 372-287BC) wrote the oldest surviving text about minerals. The text was called ‘On Stones’ and it examined 16 minerals for their physical and geological properties and their reported medical values.

Crystals have played an integral part in many of the worlds religions.

Crystal healing is not a product to the ‘New Age’, although interest has grown very steadily since the 1970’s. Many books have been published over the years and what was once a form of healing for the very rich and powerful is now available for all.

What is Crystal Healing/What happens?

Crystal healing is an ancient therapy that works with the natural universal energy and the energy of crystals to improve health and well being.

Crystal healing is holistic, meaning that is aims to heal the whole not just a particular aspect i.e headache. The treatment is dedicated for you to receive the highest, purest healing available for you.. A treatment can help to  restore health and balance at all levels, emotional, physical and spiritual unlike conventional medicine which treats symptoms alone.

Before each healing session begins I prepare and cleanse the crystals and treatment room. I also ask the universal power that the client receives the highest and purest healing available to them at this point in time.

Prior to the session starting I will check the clients name, address and other relevant details. Shoes are encouraged to be removed, nothing else is required! The client is helped onto the massage couch or chair if prefered and covered with a light blanket as body temperature drops when in a relaxed state. I will verbally lead the client on a guided meditation and I will then connect to the divine (universal power) and asked to be guided to the best crystals and layout for the client.

The crystals are then selected and placed on and around the body, my job is to hold the safe place for the client to receive the healing.

After the healing has taken place the client may wish to share the experience of what they felt or were shown in the meditation, some clients are often tearful at this stage and this is a normal part of the healing process.

Before the client leaves me I make sure the client is not still in the relaxed state but fully aware and grounded.

As a professional I take great pride in my work and all that I do, I am also fully insured, qualified and most important of all very approachable!

The quartz crystal can have other energetic abilities besides merely focusing the subtle energies of the healer.

When healing energy is focused through the quartz crystal, it is sent into the body of the patient and distributed to the areas most in need of an energy balancing. There is an almost innate intelligence to this focused energy as it is always directed at the body regions where it is needed.

The quartz crystal may be held in the hand while touching the patient, and the healing energies sent through the palm chakra. As the energies pass through the crystal, they are both amplified and directed to the part of the subtle anatomy which requires energetic reorganization and healing. Although there is a natural tendency for the crystal to distribute the energies properly, it is still wise to place the crystal over the part of the body which is painful or most affected by illness.
