Very Exciting Announcement!!!

So it has literally been forever since I have posted on here! And I am so sorry for that, But I have had things going on in my life along with me working on a few different projects. And I wanted to share with you guys that I now have a second youtube channel AND a second blog! They are separate because they are not beauty related.

What are these new things about? Well.... I have started a healthy lifestyle change to loose weight! I started about 2 months ago and I have been sticking with it. So I decided to create a youtube channel and blog so anyone who wants to can follow along and maybe go along in the journey with me!

Beauty Christmas Haul 2011!!!

I hope everyone had a great holiday! Whether you celebrated Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, I hope that it was the best one yet. And as many other people, me and my family celebrate Christmas. And this year was the first time I actually asked for beauty related items! I was always one to ask for those high and expensive electronics and ask for more than one. But this year the only electronic or pricey item I did ask for was, a camcorder. Just so I can make better videos for you guys :). But if you didn't read my holiday wish list post, I asked for many beauty/makeup items! And to my surprise I actually got some! :) Now I didn't get anything on my wish list, but the items I received are ones I want. And of course I wanted to share with you guys what I got! And hopefully you can tell with the pictures. But I did receive my camcorder for X-mas as well! :) So look forward to a video about it along with wayyyy better quality tutorials/videos!

The first gift I received had to be one of the most exciting ones! I have never tried any of Mally beauty products. But I see them a lot in tutorials, and hear about how great the quality are. But from watching one of my favorite beauty guru's on youtube, emilynoel83, she was talking about the Evercolor Automatic Waterproof Eyeliner set. The set comes with 10 of the automatic liners, that do NOT smudge at all! You can buy the set for a great price at qvc.com. Well I was lucky enough to receive the set as a gift! From swatching all the colors, they are extremely pigmented as well as smudge proof. I could wipe and wipe my fingers and hands over those colors and they would not budge! I am so excited to use them in upcoming tutorials for you guys! I also plan on doing a possible dupe for these eyeliners :) I am going to list the colors that the set includes in order of the picture above.

Onyx- A true black color.

Deepest Brown- True to the name a deep brown color.

Plum- A dark beautiful purple.

Navy- A rich dark true blue color.

Black Cherry- Almost a coca-cola cherry colored! Very unique.

Lucky Penny- A very bronze color, exactly like a new penny!

24K- A yellow/gold color.

Hunter- A deep army green color.

Tinsel- A very bright silver shade.

Satin Taupe- A beautiful grey color with taupe undertones.

Another fun beauty item I received was, a Colour me glow eye shadow palette, and Pur Travel size kabooki brush. All the colors in this palette have glitter chunks in them, but do not appear when swatched. The colors do not have the best pigmentation, but for a drugstore palette you can't always expect that. The colors are beautiful colors, and I found that you can build them up the the pay off you desire. They all have a shimmer to very frost color. This palette would be perfect for any beauty lover on a budget, or for a girl who is just starting out with makeup! I plan on doing a tutorial for beginners, featuring this palette. The colors I choose to swatch are with out a primer or eye shadow base!

For the little travel size kabooki brush. This brush is perfect to set your foundation on the go. This brush is so little and perfect for traveling, but still so dense and will do the job flawlessly!

So by now I am sure everyone has heard of, or came across Ecotools! Well I knew about them, but I have never tried the brushes or even thought about giving them a fair chance. But I got a brush set for Christmas, and can I just say, I was sooooooooo wrong to never think about trying these bad boys out! All the brushes are extremely soft to the touch, but yet are still very dense, so you can get the job done! The set I was given included the following brushes, blush brush, eye shading brush, eyeliner brush, lash and brow groomer, concealer brush, and a cosmetic bag. To be honest I can not tell the difference between the concealer and eye shadow brush. They both are around the same size and have about the same density. But I can say that the eyeliner brush, which is a small angled brush, is the thinnest angled brush I have ever came across! It is very thin, but still has the density to not bend all over the place while applying your eyeliner or filling in your eyebrows. The blush brush, is so extremely soft that it makes you just want to rub it against your face all day and night! This brush would be perfect to apply your blush, powder your t-zone, or ever contour your cheek bones! The brow groomer is your typical groom, but I feel like this one is not as scratchy as other ones I have tried before! And on top of receiving all of these lovely brushes, it comes with a makeup bag and holds your brushes, but still folds over and closes to protect your brushes while storing your makeup on the go!

The one and only famous E.L.F. book of shadows! Like many of their shadows, they can be a hit or miss. But I received this lovely packaged new smoky eye book of shadows! I have tried the old packaged neutral eye edition. And I loved the darker colors that came in that palette, but the lighter shades broke and really had no pigmentation. But when I opened this book, and swatched the colors. I was truly surprised as well as impressed. I also love how the books always come with a guide how to apply and where to apply the shades and shadows. This is always helpful for a beginner, or a new way to try something different from what your used to doing!

Unlike the old book of shadows, the new ones come with 9 eye shadows, 3 cream eyeliners, and eyeliner pencil, along with an eye shadow applicator. The color selection in this book is beautiful. You can get smoky eye looks, all along with creating an every day neutral eye. But when I saw there was 3 cream eyeliners, I was prepared to be disappointed. But to my surprise, the eyeliners are fantastic!!! :) They are so pigmented and rich in color! Not only can they be used as an eyeliner, they are soft and creamy enough to be applied as an eye shadow base, to let the colors appear more vibrant! And the eye liner pencil is so rich and applies so smoothly! The feeling of the pencil reminded me of the Mally eyeliners from above!

The eye shadows in the book again are a hit and miss. But I can say out of the 9 shadows, only 1 is a true miss. That one would have to be the light blue shade. It hardly has any pigment, but can be built up to your liking. The rest of the shadows are very soft to the touch but not chalky or crumbly! As many drugstore shadows, you should expect some fall out, but not to much. I am so excited to try all these out and do a review and tutorial for you all! :)

Those are all the makeup products I got for Christmas this year! I am so very blessed to have a wonderful family and friends that love me! I could have not asked for a better holiday this year! I hope that every one of you had a great holiday season. And I wish you all the best for the new and upcoming year! 12 Days of Inspired Christmas! Hanukkah Inspired Look!

Hanukkah, is a very special holiday to the ones who celebrate it. Like Kailyn and I have mentioned before, there are different holidays that people celebrate this time of year. And what better than to do another inspired look to honor those holidays. It just happens that today was the first day of Hanukkah! :) So Happy Hanukkah! I do not know much about this holiday. But I do know that every night one more candle is lit, repeating for 8 days. And each night the candles stay lit for about one and half hours after dark. I love how different celebrations have their own culture and history behind them! :) Today both me and Kailyn, wanted to do a makeup look to inspire you who celebrate this holiday, to have a look just for you! Also, if you don't celebrate this traditional holiday, you can even just take what you want and make the lip your own!

I was looking at pictures of the candle lightings, and I came across this picture. And I got my whole inspiration from this lovely picture!

How I created this look:

I first applied a white base, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, to my tear duct and under brown bone. I then placed a dark navy blue base, NYX Junbo Eye Pencil in Slate, to my lid.

I then placed a soft matte brown color in my crease and blended up to use as a blending/transition color. Next I choose three different shades of blue I wanted to use from my BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette.

I placed the lightest blue shade on the inner part of my eye, then placing the next darker color to the center of my lid, finally placing Gunmetal from the Urban Decay Naked Palette, on the outer corner. Applying all these colors with patting motions to create a soft ombre of blue color. Once all placed just slightly blend the blue a little into the crease, with a fluffy blending brush. NOT adding more color just blending any harsh lines that may have formed.

Then, with the same fluffy brush, I put a little bit of Half Baked, from the UD Naked Palette, and just lightly put a shine of gold above my crease. Then pick of the same color and apply that under lower lash line, tear duct, and drag into crease and first third of lid. Again apply with patting motion on lid, to create a nice blend.

To finish up the look, contour your face with a matte bronzer, applying only where you need to enhance features. Once that is done, you can use a blush if you wish. But I wanted to just add a little bit more simmer! :) So I applied the shimmery gold color from E.L.F's golden bronzer compact as a blush/highlight.

Then just to pull the whole look a little bit more into the holiday season. I applied a matte red lipstick from Revlon, I used the shade 007. Then topped it off with a bronze lipstick from NYX, in the shade, Earth Angel. I then wanted just a little bit more of a plump look along with a little bit more gold touch. So I tapped Half Baked on the center of my upper and lower lip.

You now have a fun and festive inspired Hanukkah look! :)

Holiday Wish List! Beauty Edition!!!

I will have to admit, usually around Christmas time, I would normally be thinking about what new electronic device I would want, or anything I could not afford. But this is the first year I am asking for beauty related items! I have always had my passion and love for makeup and hair, and anything beauty related. But this past year, I have really grown and expanded everything one step further. I created this blog, to share all of my love and passion with every other makeup lover out there. I gained the courage to create videos for my youtube channel. I always was one to read, and watch videos, and I never thought I would be the one behind the computer, or behind the camera. So saying that, I wanted to share with you the few items I am asking for/hoping to purchase this holiday season! Now, I am not saying that the holidays are not all about the gifts. It is a time to be thankful for what you have, and give back to others. So I also will share with you a little bit about what I am grateful for in my life, and how I plan on giving back!

The first item I am asking for, would have to be none the less, The Naked Palette 2, by Urban Decay! I own the first one, and I know that I do not need both, but this item is so popular and I can see why people love it. The first Naked palette was more warm tones, from swatches and reviews I have seen, this new palette is more cool tones. So that means if you are traveling, or just want to be able to create any eye look. These palettes are the best way to go. The first one prices around $48, and the new palette is priced around $50.
You also get 12 shadows in each palette. Each shadow is a full size pan of the shadow. The pan shadows on their own on Urbandecay.com usually price around $12, so for getting either of these palettes. You are walking away with a great deal.

No makeup look is complete with out the right brush behind it! I have purchased to MAC brushes, and almost went broke from it. I have purchased brushes at drug store pricing from, E.L.F. Cosmetics, Eco Tools, etc. But I would love to get a set of professional brushes, preferring Sigma's line. They are very cost friendly for the quality you get. Most of their eye brushes start around $9, compared to MAC brushes that start around $15-$19. Sigma's line also has almost identical ones to MAC brushes. I am not one to spend a ton of money on high end makeup, but if I can find something that is worth the money I will. But asking for a set like this around the holiday season is perfect!

One line of cosmetics I recently have heard of, and am very eager to try. Would have to be Sleek cosmetics! This is a line of cosmetics based out of the U.K. So can be hard to come across the U.S., but you can purchase on ebay and amazon or even Sleek Cosmetics website. But I have not purchased any of their cosmetics/palettes at all. Everyone who has a palette from them, usually raves about the pigmentation and how great of quality the shadows have! I have my eye on two of their $10 eyeshadow palettes. The "Storm" palette and the "Au Naturel" palette. These both are the pictures shown above, and are their natural palette choices. I wear almost a neutral smokey eye, everyday. And I do have to do my makeup on the go, so any palette I can take with me to make my life easier is perfect. Which is why I would LOVE to get my hands on this line of cosmetics!

Another very popular, and very cost friendly brand of cosmetics I want to get my hands across, would have to be, Wet 'n' Wild Cosmetics. More importantly, I really want to grab some of their eye shadow palettes. I see and hear many makeup guru's, talking about how great of quality these palettes have, and the variety of looks you get from the palettes. Now this line of cosmetics is a drug store line, but not all drugstores carry them. And the drugstores that do, don't have the full selection of palettes. You can also purchase these from amazon, and ebay. But from what I have noticed the sellers are raising the prices because of the high demand. So I hope to also get my hands across these bad boys! The trio's price range start at around $3, the 8 shadow palette's start at around $7, just depending on where you purchase from.

So those are mainly the makeup/beauty items I did ask for. I also asked for a new camcorder, just for the purpose of filming better quality tutorials, and videos for you guys! :) Now like I said these are all materialistic things. This season is the time to appreciate what you have, and the time to giveback. So I am going to tell you how I am going to give back then what I am truly thankful for from this past year.

I have to come clean, and say that I am not always one to give back by doing charity, or volunteering. But I do give back any chance I can especially around this time of year. I do donate to booths out front of my local stores. If I see someone less fortunate on the corner across from my work, if I can, I buy them a fast food meal, and give them the change I can afford to. Just to help them out! I plan on volunteering at a animal shelter this upcoming year. But this year I am trying and doing everything I can to give back. Even if it is not during the holiday seasons, it is always the right time to give back! :)

So this holiday season, even if you are asking for those special gifts. I hope you can look and see what you are truly thankful for! Because those materialistic things are just things. But the things and people you have in your life that mean the world to you. Are there for good! :)

12 Days of Inspired Christmas! Kwanzaa Holiday Look!

Around this time of year, many of us think about Christmas. But not all of us do celebrate that holiday. Now my family and I, are one of many to celebrate Christmas. But me and Kailyn, wanted to do looks for the other holiday out there. So they can to have a look to be inspired by! Today's look is dedicated to the people who celebrate Kwanzaa. Now growing up celebrating Christmas, I will admit I don't know much about this holiday. But I do know that it consists of 3 red candles, 3 green candles, and 1 black candle. So with those colors I cam up with a very wearable makeup in honor of this holiday! :) Even if you don't celebrate this holiday, it is a great and a wearable holiday look! I was inspired by the colors of the candles along with the flame when they are lit.

I wanted to use all the candle colors, but also incorporate the gold from the flame. To create this look, I used my BH Cosmetics 88 Standard Shimmer Palette.

I placed a light gold gold, around my inner tear duct while dragging it slightly onto the inner part of my lid. I then took a dark deeper green color, and I applied that on the outer corner while applying it to the rest of the lid.

I then took a taupe and green, mixed them together on a fluffy blending brush, then applied that to my crease and blend up towards brow bone.

To bring the black into this look, I placed a rich black color on the outer v, to define my eye. Then dragged it into my crease, almost making a cut crease look.

I then took a ruby red color, and applied that on the inner half of my crease. To bring the red color out. Once all the colors are placed, go back through and blend everything so there are no harsh lines.

Apply a black liner to your waterlines, upper and lower. Use a liquid liner to create a winged line on your upper lash line. Apply a black mascara and you are set with this eye look!

I wanted to enhance the red color just a little bit more, by wearing a true red lip color. I applied Revlon 007 lipstick to my lips, and dabbed a little gloss over it, to make my lips appear more plump.

This look has inspired me to really again step outside of my comfort zone! I am really enjoying doing all these looks for you guys!!! :) I hope that if you celebrate Kwanzaa, you can take this makeup look to really celebrate your holiday. And if you don't celebrate it, take this look and use it for your holiday!

12 Days of Inspired Christmas! Peacock Tree Inspired!!!

If you were to think of how a typical Christmas tree is decorated, you would think gold and red, every color known to man, red and green, white and blue. For day 6 of me and Kailyn's holiday collab, we decided to do a makeup look inspired by how our Christmas trees are decorated at home. I was so excited to do this look, but I forgot that my tree at home is a bit different than your normal tree. Our tree is peacock inspired, with pink accents. The tree is beautiful, but I had to put a lot of thought into how to combine all of those colors into a wearable look for you guys! I love how the look came out, and I think it is very wearable for anyone! If you know me I wear mainly only a neutral smokey eye, but I plan on recreating and wearing this look again!

Those are the pieces from my Christmas tree at home I got my inspiration from. I got the inspiration from the teal and green from the peacock feathers, and I got the magenta inspiration from the light strand, along with the flowers across our tree! So now that you saw my tree, see how I put these colors into a complete look!

Since I was going to be using very bright colors, I applied NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to help really make the colors more vibrant. To get this look grab your BH Cosmetics 88 Standard Shimmer Palette.

First start with applying a light green shade to the inner part of your lid, but staying away from the most inner part next to tear duct. Once you have that placed, pack on a teal/blue color on the outer have connecting to wear the green meets and blend them smoothly together.To pull in the true peacock colors, in my crease I placed a taupe brown color blending upwards to the brow bone.

To pull in the magenta color was very hard for me to think of. But how I did it was by applying a magenta with purple undertones, and did a cut crease look. While blending the harsh lines so your look all flows together.

For my inner tear duct high light, I used a very light pink shade, and also blended that into the empty space on the lid while applying the green shade. I also used this color and applied it under my brow bone!

To define my lash line, I didn't want to use a black. I felt it would make it to harsh so I used a blue pencil liner, alone with smudging a similar shadow over to set it in place.

I also used the same blue pencil liner, and tight lined my upper and lower waterlines. To finish the eyes, just apply 1-2 coats of your favorite mascara. :)

To also pull in the pink color just a little bit more, I used a very pink blush on the back of my cheeks. I did that so I didn't have to much going on towards the center of my face since I did a bright lip.

For my lip color I did a color almost identical to the magenta color we have on our tree! The shade I used would be, NYX Round Lipstick in Pink Lyric.

12 Days of Inspired Christmas! 5 GOLDEN RINGS!!!

With the hit Christmas song, 12 Days of Christmas. The one line that anyone remembers the most would most likely be, 5 golden rings. I know for me, when this song is playing at work, in the car, or just shopping, I mumble every other line. But when it gets to the 5th day I shout, "5 GOLDEN RINGS!". So of course for the fifth day of me and Kailyn's holiday collaboration. We had to do a golden ring, inspired look! I had some fun with this look. I wanted to make a more golden smokey eye then what I usually wear. I stepped just a little out of my comfort zone for you guys! I hope that you can find help with our inspired looks, and use it for a holiday look of your own.

For this entire look, I used my BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette, along with my Tropical Matte Palette. The first step I did to step out of my comfort zone was, for a base color and to make my golds appear more vibrant. I placed a pure bright yellow color. I normally would never do anything like that. But for you guys, I want to start expanding and experimenting, to create unique and different looks.

Over the top of the vibrant yellow, I placed a light gold shade on the inner half of my lid. Then on the outer half, I placed a true gold color. Patting over the colors will give you a perfect blend with your eye shadow applicator.

For the crease, I just used a soft matte brown. I blended up and used it also as my transition color. I then took a light yellow/gold color, and applied that right where a transition color would be. I added this just and blended down into the crease, just to make the crease appear more gold tone.

For a highlight under my brow bone, I used a mixture of the first light gold color mixed in with a champagne high light color.

For my inner tear duct highlight, I used just the champagne color.

To just add my own personal touch, I smudged some pencil liner just on the outer half of my lid. I took a pencil brush and smudged it out more along with setting it, using a matte black.

Then just line your waterline, lower and upper. Apply your favorite mascara and your set!

For my face, I just used NYC Sunny Bronzer to contour and use as a slight color to my cheeks. Then I used my E.L.F. Golden Bronzer, using only the champagne highlight and applied that over my cheeks, and cheek bones. Just to add a more golden finish.

To pull the golden ring look all together. I wanted a bronze lip, but just another touch of gold. I used NYX Round Lipstick in the shade, Earth Angel. After applying that, I took some of the first light gold shade I used on my inner part of my lid. And I applied that just to the center part of my bottom lip. And just to add a little bit more of a glossy finish, I applied Mary Kay's lipgloss in the shade Beach Bronze, all over my lips.

Now the look is complete! I had so much fun with this look and LOVED the way it turned out! I hope that you are getting so many inspirations from this collab!

12 Days of Inspired Christmas Collab! Holiday Lip Colors!!!

To a lot of people, when you think of the holiday season, and lip colors to wear. Many people automatically think of the classic red lip. Well I think that there are so many lip choices you have around the holiday season. Just pairing the right lip, with the right face makeup is what might make or break your color decision. Me and Kailyn both choose our favorite lip colors/lip choices for the holiday season! I hope that maybe this can help anyone out with maybe changing up your lip choices for the holidays.

Lip color: Revlon #510 Berry rich

One of my favorite lip selections for fall and winter season would have to be, berry colored lips. If I am in doubt, I always go with a berry color. It is basic, but yet always adds just that little bit more of a touch to your look. It completes any face look you have. There are many different berry shades to choose from, light ones, more pink toned, dark true berry color. Any berry color is a great choice, and you can not go wrong with this pop of color on your lips!

Lip color: NYX Baby Pink

Normally when I would see a lip color like this, I instantly thought of summer lip choice. But I have been trying to go out of my normal choice selection, and I did this bright nude pink, with a dramatic cool toned smokey eye. It made the look complete, but it also made it a very wearable look. Perfect for a holiday party or even a night out, even possibly a New Years look! So don't be afraid to wear a bright pink during the winter/holidays. Just make your eye look a little bit more smoked out, or a little more dramatic to pull it more towards the winter look.

Lip color: E.L.F. Fantasy

A classic look that you will normally see me wearing during the fall/winter seasons, would have to be this neutral brown color. I love this look! I love pairing this with a dramatic brown smokey eye. And with a color like this, being a neutral, you can wear it with any look really and have it still pull together in the end.

Lip color: Revlon #007 In The Red

Of course, the tradition red lip for the holidays. What would any lip choice blog be without a red lip? This classic look is perfect for a holiday look. It is very festive, but yet has the ability to pull any look together as well. And there are so many different options to do with a red lip. You can have a matte red lip, or a very glossy lip. But you can also just use a lip pencil and use that as a lip stain. Any of those choices will give the same classic look, but a way to make the look your very own!

Those are all of my favorite lips choices that I have been using this holiday season! But I have to say the most important thing if you choose a lip color is......

Make sure you don't get lipstick on your teeth! You don't want to be remembered as the girl with lipstick on her teeth, from your holiday party! Kissing a paper towel after applying your lipstick will help prevent this. And then this way you have a smile to last the whole night! :)

First Makeup Tutorial!!!

Hello ladies! I am sooo excited to finally put this post up! :) I have been trying to hard to put my first tutorial up for you guys and finally here it is! It is the look I wore in my last outfit of the day post! It is a bronzey smokey eye, but is very wearable. You can always take and change what you need to make it your own! It is a look I do with my everyday makeup. I tend to stick to more neutral colors, but I love making everything a little bit more dark and dramatic for the winter season! 12 Days of Inspired Christmas Collab! Holiday Hair look!

For our 3rd day of inspired Christmas looks, Kailyn and I decided to do a holiday hair look. Possibly one you could wear to a party,or just for any special occasion! I wanted to do a look that anyone could do, I did this hairstyle even when my hair length was much shorter. This look would be perfect for any kind of attire. Formal, semi-formal, dressy casual, even casual. Just how you accessorize with any hair pieces, or earrings will dress up or dress down.

To do this simple side hair style, the first step would be to curl your hair with either a flat iron or a curling iron, in the direction of away from your face.

Once you have your hair curled, choose the side you want to wear your hair on. Grab the hair from the opposite side and pull to the side where hair will be gathered.

Next pull a small piece of hair to frame your face. Once you framed your face pin the hair to the side you want. Make sure you start from your hair line and secure with bobby pins until you get to the crown of your head.

One everything is pinned you can style your bangs however you would like them. And mess around with your curls until you have them they way you want. Mist over style with a hairspray to help last throughout the night!

12 Days of Inspired Christmas 2nd Day!!!

If you have a holiday work party, neighborhood meet up, or maybe you are going to be hosting your own party. You might be thinking of a ton of things, what to wear, what dish you might be bringing to share, or what you may need to go out and purchase. But me and Kailyn have maybe a step to help you out with a party makeup look! There are so many things you have to worry about, well why not see how we were inspired for a holiday look and save some time by taking some inspiration to recreate your own look. :)

For my inspired holiday look, I wanted to do something that was elegant and simple. But yet something you can wear with any outfit you may be wanting to pair with. I added a dramatic winged liner just to enhance my eyes a little bit more. But you could definitively recreate this look making it your own.

For my eye look I used my BH cosmetics 120 palette 3rd edition. Along with the Urban Decay Naked Palette just using the color naked.

The lid:

I place a taupe color all over my lid. I then took the color naked from UD Naked Palette, and blended that in my crease all the way up to under my brow bone.

I then took a dark maroon color and just placed that on the outer part of my eye.

I wanted to define my outer v a little bit more. Just to make it that simple classic look. I choose a charcoal matte grey, and placed that in the outer v, along with blending a little into the crease.

Make sure all is blended and you have no harsh lines. Once you have that, then go in with a champagne highlight color and apply that right under your brow.

To finish up the look:

Using a liquid liner of your choice, line your eyes and make a winged line to your personal preference.

Then line your inner lower and top waterline, with a liner that will last the whole night.

Curl your eyelashes, apply your favorite mascara to give you length and volume, and you are done with your eyes.

To finish off the look:

Contour your cheeks with a bronzer, to bring out your cheek bones.

Apply your natural pink blush right above where you contoured.

Then pick a light shimmer pink based color. To put over the tops of your cheek bones to highlight

Then line your lips to add a fuller affect, and apply the color of lipstick of your choice.

You are now set for your party look. Something simple but yet, a show stopping look! I hope you try out this look! I have a tutorial coming up soon of this look! Please check it out!

12 Days of Inspired Christmas!!! Nail inspired design!!!

I am so happy to announce that today is the first day of me and Kailyn's collaboration of, 12 Days of Inspired Christmas. In the 12 days you will get to know each of us a little better, with knowing what inspires us around the holiday season, and what the holidays mean to us. So make sure you check both of our blogs out for out days listed for exclusive inspiration. All along with leaving comments with what inspires you the most around the holiday seasons! The first 5 days of posting will be this week, starting today and ending on Friday! Other days are still to be determined!

For our first day of inspiration, we both decided to do a nail design. With all the decorations and displays, put up almost everywhere you go, this time of year. It is hard to not be inspired to do something different with your nails. But before I go into that a little bit more, I want to share with all of you what the holiday season means to me, and what inspires me the most.

The holiday season is always a time to spend with the ones you love. Even tho you have that maybe more than others through out the year, this time of year can be extra special. Christmas in my family is a time to be thankful for what you have and to look around and see all the people who love and support you no matter what. I am not saying my family is perfect at all, just like any other family we have our differences. But at Christmas nothing matters except sharing the love we all have for one another.

What inspires me the most this special time of year? It would have to be the display of trees I see no matter where I go. I love seeing every different and possible decor known to man, on a different tree from place to place. Your Christmas tree is a way to show your own touch of style, just like your outfits and your makeup! I also love how the weather changes, this is my favorite thing by far. I love having to pull my sweaters out, and my knee high boots. The fashion changes every season, but winter is the one where you can accessorize with things you can't all through out the year. Such as scarves, and boots, mittens/gloves, thicker leggings, and so on. There are so many things that inspire me alone this time of year. But you will see just what I mean through out these 12 days!!!

With my nail inspired design, I of course had to do the one thing that only is around on Christmas. A mistletoe! I love how beautiful they are just as a decoration, but I truly love the meaning of them. Who wouldn't want to be kissed by someone you love? A mistletoe gives you just that! Another thing that inspires me would have to be all of the glitter. I love how sparkly everything is when I look at displays across my local area. So I put a sparkly black as my base nail color. And I wanted to keep the mistletoe simple just as it should be. So I put my design on my ring finger, just a hint to put something all to do with love on that finger right?

Christmas Collaboration Soon to Come!

Christmas is right around the corner. This is my favorite time of the year, so what better yet than to do posts that relate to the holiday season? Everyday Work Outfit 11/29/2011 Mixing Black and Brown!

This is my outfit that I wore to work! Again bring in the animal print trend! But in this outfit I also bring in another trend, wearing black and brown together. A lot of people may be frightened of the thought of this. But I always love a challenge, and love breaking traditional fashion rules. I can not stress enough how rules are meant to be broken. Especially with fashion! This is how I put another two different trends, into one look that is appropriate for work or even a night out in the town.

I decided to try another new style for me. I paired this tan based shall with dark brown leopard print, over a black lace cami. The shall is a bit sheer, so pairing it with the black lace cami gives it a darker allusion. Also with it being sheer it made it a little bit easier to mix black and brown, two neutral colors, together.

I also brought in more of the brown tones into the look, with wearing a gold ring necklace, that had dark stained wook round chips, and pearly white chips.

For bottoms I am wearing all black. I wanted to make the outfit black, but accessorize with the brown and golden tones. So for my bottoms I wore a black pencil skirt, and since it is winter, I put a pair of thick, matte leggings underneath.

For shoes I wore my newest edition to my shoe collection! A pair of Candie's boots on clearance from Kohls. They are a wedge heeled boot, that are a dark brown, with the wedge part black, along with the shoe strings. They are a bit more edgy and can not be appropriate for everyone's work environment. But you can always just take inspiration. :)

I never leave my house with some sort of watch on my wrist. So to finish up this look, I paired this outfit with my favorite watch given to me by my boyfriend :). It is brown and black, with a gold face. PERFECT for this look. The band is a turtle shell ( not literally ). But that is what the design is called. It looks more like leopard to me!

EyesLipsFace Mineral Eye Shadow Primer! (Urban Decay Primer Potion Dupe)

The most commonly used eye shadow primer today is, Urban Decay's Primer Potion. This primer is very popular in tutorials, review, and other blog posts all across the web. If you walk into any beauty retailer, and ask for a primer, the odds of them selling you this primer is very high. But I wanted to share a primer I have found, that dupes this very popular item, and is way more cost efficient. Urban Decay's Primer Potion retails at $18. Can be very expensive to some people, and not everyone may be able to splurge and spend the money. I wanted to join in on what everyone was talking about, and I purchased UDPP, I liked it, but I felt like it was a product I could find a cheaper alternative, with the same affect on my everyday makeup. I purchased many primers, drugstore brand, common name brands, and brand I have never heard of. And with my search of finding a cheaper alternative, I found one that is very cost friendly, and actually in my opinion, works with any eye look, natural, dramatic, even plain by itself. This great product I found would be....

E.L.F. (EyesLipsFace) Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

Pros and Cons of both primers.

Urban Decay Primer Potion:

Pros:

The packaging is very sleek and has a girly touch to it. They recently have changed the packaging to a squeeze tube, but the one I purchased is the original vintage bottle.
I wand applicator is bent, for an easy sweep of product across the eye. I also find that with this applicator, you can apply the product on lower lash line easiest.
When blending in the primer, it is very smooth and light weight. Making it easier to blend without tugging or pulling. That much easier to help prevent premature wrinkles.
The original primer, is a sheer/light toned natural shade. Adds just a little coverage to the eye lid area, great if you have veins, or darkness around your eyes.
When applying shadows, it really brings out the most of your shadow. It makes the colors seem more vibrant. And when you go to blend colors, such as your crease or two different colors, it helps it blend your shadows or pigments so smoothly and effortlessly.
The staying power of this product is amazing. Applying this as a base before any everyday makeup look, will help your eye look stay on all throughout the day. It will help the colors stay vibrant and not mush together at the end of the day. Also depending on your eye shadow choices along with your skin type, you for the most part will not get much creasing at all!

Cons:

The price is not very reasonable for everyone. At $18 for one tube of primer, which contains 0.34 oz. of product. I do not think that is a reasonable price, that gives everyone an opportunity to try this product out. Especially with how much it is talked about.
In the original vintage bottle, the wand only picks up product from the bottom part of the packaging. So realistically you are only getting around half of the product. Once you have used all the product from the bottom half of the packaging, you have to depot the remaining amount of product. Or just go out and purchase another one at the expensive price. Which then means, you are wasting product and not getting all of you moneys worth.
The driest part on your face is your eye lids. Anything you apply should help hydrate and in time moisturize your eyes. With the primer potion I noticed that it is not as hydrating as some other primers I have used in the past. Even tho the staying power of UBPP is great, drying out my eye lids over time is not something I want.
Again with the original vintage packaging, I noticed that my tube at the top could get messy from just pulling the wand in and out. And the wand and product can dry out a little bit over time. Making the product not as smooth and easy to apply to your eye area.
When you pull out the wand, sometimes it can have to much product. I don't think that it is consistent with the amount of product you pull out every time.

E.L.F. (Eyes Lips Face) Mineral Eyeshadow Primer:

Pros:

Packaging is simple and basic. But perfect size for everyday makeup looks, but also perfect size for a look on the go. For the price you pay, the packaging is pretty decent. It is not as detailed as UDPP, but unless packaging is a big deal for you, the packaging of E.L.F. primer is still sleek and simple.
Has a basic wand that you find in many tube products. The wand is very soft and does not have any hard bristles what so ever. Makes is soft to the touch to place product.
The product on the wand is pretty consistent for every application. You should get enough product for a whole eye and possibly both, depending on the shape and size of your eye. Makes it an easier and faster application.
Blending in the product into the skin is heaven! When blending this into my eye area I instantly feel like my eye lid is so moisturized and refreshed. All along with how easy it is to blend into your skin. It is so light and almost has a whipped feeling to the touch, it is so light weight. The color is again a natural light tone shade. Which will help with covering up any veins that you may have showing. With this primer, I think there is just a more natural finish and color to it that UDPP doesn't have to it. Which you could wear this primer alone to give a natural and hydrated look to your eyes, and adding a little bit of coverage to hide any dark circles or veins.
The formula this primer has is by far my favorite out of any primer I have tried! You can take a color that does not have much pigmentation at all, and putting it over a layer of this primer will change that. It makes any pigment or shadow just burst with more pigmentation. I found that this primer helps bring out colors, and make them more vibrant than UDPP. In my swatches I used a matte black color I purchased from BH Cosmetics, (seen in my review) And you can clearly see that it is much more vibrant and seems more pigmented with just one swipe over this primer.

Blending any eye look is simple over this primer. With the formula it is so smooth and helps blend colors before you even start blending them yourself. I found using this primer, I was not going over my eye look as much trying to blend. I love how this has cut down my blending time, and makes getting ready even faster for me!
If you plan on having a long day ahead of you, this primer will hold you throughout the entire day! How your eye makeup is when you leave for your long day is how it will be at the end of the night. I work long 8 hour shifts in retail. I am always moving around and when I come home I notice that my shadow has not moved into a corner of my eye, or the color has faded to nothing. With an all day wear, most primers would eventually have a start of creasing or colors have faded. Not with this primer! This is where this product beats UDPP. Even on the driest or oiliest skin types, I have seen this primer work the exact same way with holding up throughout the day.
One factor about this product that I can say the primer potion didn't do is when taking the swatches for this blog post, I used my makeup remover wipes to wipe off my arm. Everything faded or rubbed away. But the place where I placed the E.L.F. primer with a swatch of a matte black shadow, the shadow was still there. The pay off you get with this primer for the cost is AMAZING! The picture is down below. I wanted you to see how amazing this primer is, and how it beats a high end product.

Even for the price of $3 you get 0.15 oz in a tube. Which is half of UDPP, but if you bought two equaling $6, you are still walking away with a steal. Plus you do not have to depot any of this product. It is a straight tube and the wand will always be able to reach the product left in the tube.

Cons:

Purchasing this can be a problem for some people. E.L.F. products are not in every drugstore. Some of their products can be found in select Target stores, and smaller store throughout the country. But the easiest place you can find all of the products EyesLipsFace has to offer would be on their website. www.eyeslipsface.com And again this may not be accessible to everyone.

So, if I had to choose which one I would recommend to any beginner or anyone who would ask me what primer I choose. I would most definitively anyone to purchase E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer! I hope that maybe you can try out this primer, even if you are true to primer potion. Casual Everyday Outfit For Fall!

In Arizona, this fall season has been the hottest one yet. I have not been able to wear any cute jackets or any winter clothes, but I have to make the most of it! So In this outfit I put together something casual yet still stylish!

In this outfit I am wearing a red cardigan with a lace crinkle camisole underneath. I love the classic look of black and red paired together. I then wanted to just dress it up a little bit with a statement jewelry piece. I am wearing a necklace that hangs lower that has a black round piece with little charms that dangle in different lengths below it. I also paired off the accessories with my BKE Silver watch.

For my bottoms, I am just wearing a simple true blue color jegging, with a wash out affect on the thighs. And of course for my shoes I have to wear my favorite fall boots. These boots have been featured in my past outfit of the days but are by far my favorite boot to pair with any outfit! :)

For my makeup, I did a slightly different smokey eye look than I would normally do. I will have a tutorial on how I did this look soon on my youtube channel! So subscribe so you are the first to see it :). But I have a matte royal blue mixed with a grey with blue undertones all over the lid. A bronze golden brown in the crease, a true gold right above the crease and a shimmery white as a highlight under the brow bone along with in the inner tear duct. I also smoke out the look a little more by dragging the same bronze gold color from my crease under my lower lash line. I winged out my liner on top to add a more dramatic appearance. Lined my lower waterline along with tightlinning my upper lash line. Applied mascara to only my top lashes because there was so much going on I felt that adding to the lower lash line would be to much. I then finished off the look with a bronze look on my cheeks, and pulled the whole look together with a classic nude lip!

BH Cosmetics Custom Eye Pro Palette Review!

BH Cosmetics is a common makeup brand that is affordable but great pay off with their quality. They also are great with customer service with any questions you may have or if you need to make a return. I started building my makeup collection with BH cosmetics, but even after finally building it up with drugstore and a few high end things. I still tend to find myself purchasing from BH cosmetics and pulling out palettes for any look I could want. I always would purchase the pre-made palettes, such as the Neutral palette, Tropical Shimmer, Standard Matte, etc. But recently I decided to reach out and try their 15 eyeshadow pro palette. This is a palette where you get to choose 15 eye shadow colors of your personal choice, to put in a sleek magnetic bottom palette. I hesitated on purchasing this for a while just for the fact of online colors/swatches can be very misleading. But as BH cosmetics usually does, they had a great sale going and I decided to try it out. I went through the colors for a couple days along with trying to find swatches online.
When I received my order and got to swatch the colors in person, I was THRILLED! All the colors I had chosen had great pigmentation, and were so soft but no chalky. And on top the the eye shadows, the palette itself was amazing. The palette is a great size and weight and on the inside you have a HUGE mirror! The finish of the palette is matte and very sleek. The shadows come separately packaged, so you design your palette the way you want too.

If I had to say anything bad about the colors I choose, it would have to be like some of the other palettes from BH cosmetics. The white/lighters shades can be a little chalky and not as pigmented as the color shades. In this case The matte white I picked out, was not as pigmented as I would have hoped for it to be, but still can build up to my liking.

The size of the pans is standard. So they should fit in a MAC pro palette, or any palette that has standard size pan fittings.

The colors I choose were mainly neutrals, but I also got some settle colors just to add a tiny pop of colors.

Listing and names of colors along with review and impression:

First row starting from left to right:

BH Warm Matte 12: This is a matte white/cream shade. It is not as pigmented as I would have liked for it to be, but it can easily be built up the color you would like it to be. I mainly use this over a white based primer for highlight areas, under brow arch and inner tear duct area.

BH Warm Shimmer 16: This is a shimmer skin tone shade. It works great as a natural highlight, or just a very settle light colored high light. It is in the shimmer category, but does not come off to shimmery. I would say it is more of a satin finish. This color has great pigmentation, can have some fall out. But by tapping of the excess you will be set to go!

BH Warm Shimmer 13: This is a wearable neutral shade with a little pink undertone. This color is great to have as a lid color to really brighten your eye and make it look more awake. This color is so soft to swatch and has great pigmentation with just even one swipe. This color could be used for more dark skin tones as a great highlight.

BH Metallic Shimmer 10: This color is similar to the one before but has more brown undertones in it. This is a color that can be used for many different uses. A great color all over the lid, but also using this color to blend the line where your brow highlight and crease color adds a little more depth, and also lets the light hit and reflect a little bit more. This color can have fall out, but tapping off the excess and using patting motions when packing on color will prevent that!

BH Warm Shimmer 17: This is a soft brown color with a satin finish. This color is perfect to throw in your crease and blend up. It has a satin finish and catches the light perfectly, with adding dimension into your crease. I love using this shadow for a more natural eye look. Can have fall out, but again always tap of the excess!

BH Metallic Shimmer 09: This is a burnt gold color with a shimmer finish. This color online looked a lot like half baked by Urban Decay. But when I saw it in person it is more of a rustic burnt gold color. I didn't think I would love this color but I do! It is the perfect color for fall. I use it as all over lid color, or smudge it on my lower lash line with a brown smokey eye. The pigmentation on this color is great! It is also one that I did not experience any fall out with!

BH Warm Matte 18: This is a perfect matte brown color with just the tinniest hint of burgundy undertones. This is the perfect color I think for any eye color. I love using this color in the outer v of my eye to define but also use the burgundy undertone to make my eyes appear more blue. This color blends so easily and fast and never looks muddy. I would recommend this color to anyone!

BH Metallic Matte 07: This is a very different soft brown but with a grey/green undertone to it depending on how you use it. This shadow is by far one I love playing with in my eye looks. It has such different undertones in it when you apply it with a brown smokey eye is appears more brown. But if you pair it with a gold color is can have green undertones. I love using this as a crease color along with using a smaller pencil brush to define the outer v. If you love experimenting with your eye looks this is the perfect color! Can have fall out but yet as usual just tap of the excess.

BH Cool Matte 03: This is a gorgeous burgundy color. On BH cosmetics website this color appeared as if it would be more of a brown with red undertones. But when I opened my box this color is a burgundy with a brown undertone. It was definitively a color I never imagined using. But this fall I love wearing golden smokey brown eyes and popping this color with a light dusting in the crease to make it a little more fall. I have never gotten so many compliments on any eye look before. Especially if you have blue or green eyes, adding a hint of a red or purple can make your eye color appear brighter! This color has no fall out either! This is a must have shade for me!

BH Cool Matte 02: This shade is a red brown with dark purple undertones. I love using this shadow on a smokey eye to define the outer v of my eye and pairing it with the burgundy color before. That combination is perfect for a fall look all along with helping my eye color brighten up. Also smudging this color over a brown pencil liner on your top or lower lash line is gorgeous to soften and smoke out any look. No fall out noticed on this shadow as well!

BH Cool Shimmer 07: This is a shimmery silver shade. Perfect for a sparkly smokey eye. Pop this color in the inner tear duct to add that shine and sparkle on a night out. Or place it all over the lid and make it the key star in a smokey night look. This shade has a lot of fall out. Tap of excess along with using a primer. I noticed it you did not use a primer this color will rub off quickly and end up all over your face in sparkles. This is not the best silver I have came across. But is a beautiful color.

BH Cool Shimmer 11: This is a silver blue with a satin finish. This color is gorgeous. I did not think it would be a color I look forward to using, but I was trying to branch out and try new things. When I swatched this color I instantly saw so many ways of using it. As a lid color and add a pop of gold on the outer half, for a fun summer look. Or as a lid color and smoke it out with some blue and black on the outer v to create a nice frosty winter night look! This color does not have much fall out at all! And the pigmentation is great!

BH Cool Matte 10: This is the perfect matte forest green shadow. Using this color with almost any brown smokey eye is my favorite for this fall season. I love pairing this color with a brown smokey eye I get using my Urban Decay Naked Palette, placing it right inside the outer v. This adds such a fall look to it along with changing up an everyday smokey eye. No fall out and the pigmentation is outstanding along with how soft it is with blending out.

BH Cool Matte 18: This is a true royal blue shade. Seeing this shadow online I was expecting more navy blue, but even tho it is not navy blue I was not disappointed. This color has great pigmentation and is so soft to the touch but not chalky in any way. This is a color that can be dusted on for the tinniest hint of a royal blue. Or smudged along your lash line to define while adding a pop of color. A great color to have in any collection of any make up lover!

BH Cool Matte 20: This is a true matte black color. This is my pride and joy out of all theses colors. This black is extremely pigmented and amazing to the touch. With just one swipe you get a black color pay off that most other shadows take 4-5 layers to build up to. I have never used carbon by MAC, but this black is a color I would recommend to anyone to try! I love using this to add a more defined smokey look, or even using it as a liner itself, or setting any black liner! This is a MUST HAVE!

My overall experience and thoughts.

I would recommend making your own palette with BH cosmetics. They are a great quality for the price being payed. You are going to get shadows that last and have great pigmentation. The only thing I would recommend if possible is to go by swatches you have seen from other blogs or online. Going off of what BH cosmetics has on their site can be misleading. I hope you will try BH cosmetics if you have not already. And I hope you build one of these palettes and love it as much as I love mine!!! :)

Edgy Animal Print Outfit For Work!!

Animal print is a huge trend this fall! I can't help but love this trend more than any other! Adding animal print to any outfit can have a bold effect to it. If you are not comfortable with wearing animal print, adding an accessory of animal print is still a great way to stick with the trend but not over do it. Especially if you are wanting to bring this trend into a work environment. Depending on your work place wearing animal print may be appropriate or inappropriate. I work at Dressbarn, a retail store, and our focus there is to be fashion forward and trendy, but yet still professional. So I can wear the trends that are in, just as long as I have a professional image. Again if you think that wearing animal print to work will be too much, just add a animal print handbag, or maybe a pair of heels with animal print on them. There are many things you can do to go along with this fall fashion trend!

November 19, 2011: Edgy Animal Print For Work!

In this outfit I wanted to pull the fashion trend of animal print out! My favorite animal print is by far leopard print. I wore black and white leopard print leggings that have silver glitter in them and used that as the base of my outfit and built off from there. I then paired the leggings with a black pencil skirt. I wanted to incorporate a color into my outfit. One of my most favorite things to put with black and white is red. I decided to wear a red lace crinkle camisole to add just a little bit more girly feel to it. I then pulled the look all together by putting a short length black blazer on. And of course to make it edgy I am wearing my favorite boots for fall. They are the same boots as my last outfit post. They are a mixture of a rider boot and combat boot. Perfect to add an edgy feel to any outfit.

And of course as I love to do in fall I did a smokey eye. But I smudged out my top liner to give it a edgy look and left cheek and lip color plain!

Fall Outfit: Mixing Different Styles!

Fall is a season where rules of fashion and makeup can be put aside and you create your own rules, all along with keeping up with the latest trends in fashion and beauty. This fall I have really been experimenting with rules and stretching them out to create my own looks. Next time you are in a line at a grocery store, pick up any style magazine or your choice. Everyone of them have different ways of showing whats in style, and what everyone is doing. But take bits and pieces that stand out to you and create your own style with your own rules to follow. After all, we are all different in many ways, and your outfit is one of the first impressions to showcase who you are. So this fall/winter season, create looks and rules that are truly original to who you are as yourself. We all our different, but YOU are beautiful, don't be afraid to show that. :)

November 18, 2011: Fall Inspired Look

In this outfit I decided to mix a tribal print blouse and put a modern day twist into it by making it a little more edgy and my own style!

I am wearing a tunic length blouse with a tribal print to it. It is one of my most favorite tops I have been wearing this fall. It's a 3/4 length sleeve and gathers on the shoulders to give a feminine touch to it. The blouse is sheer, so I layered it over a plain black satin camisole. I then wanted to bring out my waist and to do that I added a belt under the bust to lengthen and slim my torso. The belt adds the modern feel with the blouse. But to pull it all together and make it just a little more edgy I paired the combination with a sweater vest.

To make the look a little more edgy I wore black leggings for my bottoms. For fall one of my favorite trends is always leggings or jeggings to pull any outfit together. They come in many different colors and styles for any look you are wanting to achieve.

A really popular trend right now is color blocking. I love how putting two different colors you would not think could compliment one another, actually does. I took inspiration from that and added a pop of color with my burnt orange handbag. With my outfit being black and white, the two basic neutral colors, adding this pop of color really gives an illusion of color blocking. The orange is so out there compared to the rest of the outfit, which adds the color blocking inspiration I was looking for!

My favorite part of this outfit would have to be the shoes! To me they are the one accessory that really gave the most edgy feel and look to this outfit. These shoes are a cross between a rider boot mixed with combat boots, all combined to make my favorite pair of boots to wear with almost any outfit this fall.

To complete this whole look, I decided to take it another step further by doing an everyday smokey eye look. Adding an eye look or makeup look to any outfit can help with making it appear more or less or what you want it too. For example, I wanted this entire look to be edgy but yet fashionable. I wore a darker smokey eye with thick black winged liner, bold brows, a fresh dewy face with just the most settle color on the cheeks and bare lips.

Adding a more dramatic makeup look I feel made this outfit a bit more edgy. The outfit was a statement by itself, but I decided to go on step further with the statement smokey eye. But I wanted to tie the tribal and edgy look with my makeup as well. So parting my hair down the middle pulls the tribal back into the whole look. And this is how I put two different styles, Tribal and Edgy, together to make my own rules for my very own fashion!

This by far was my favorite outfit I have put together this fall. Depot your NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils!

The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils are amazing! Almost every makeup guru has them all along with every makeup lover out there. They are EXTREMELY cost friendly all along with great pigmentation and helping eye shadow colors pop even more! But there is a time that we all get the product right down to the pencil wood lining.... That is what happened to me the other day. I tried sharpening it but it just did not sharpen as nicely as it was when I purchased it. If you look at the pencil a little more closely, they are more of a plastic wood then a real wood. So when you sharpen them, they can get sharp and make it to where you would need to be really careful while applying adding time to your makeup application. This happened to me, I decided that depotting would be the best solution. I watched several videos and put different techniques people used into making my own way of depotting. :) I am choosing to share this all with you so you can maybe compact your makeup collection down by depotting your jumbo eye pencils. I used things that most everyone will have laying around the house. I didn't have to spend any money on doing this process! Which is a plus! Who wouldn't want to save money!

Materials you will need:

1 washcloth or paper towel: I used this to set my container on top of so things would stay clean :) (NOTE: if you are not using the same container as I am. You may need to have something that will hold your container more in place so it doesn't move around.)
Your NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils: I used the 3 I have at the moment, Slate- A navy blue with silver shimmer to it, Iced Mocha- A brown/copper color with gold specks to it, and last but not least Milk- The most used drugstore color base! It is a basic white color very commonly used for any eye look to bring the colors out to its best :)
A pair or pliers: These will be used to hold the jumbo pencils so your fingers do not get burned.
Any container/containers: I am using a weekly pill organizer to depot my pencils into. Got my inspiration to use this from the Makeup Forever Flash Palette. But you can use an empty pigment container, an old lip balm container, or a travel empty container. (Empty container holders are usually in the travel section at your local drug store). Just make sure whatever container you are using you clean it well along with rubbing alcohol in it to disinfect it.
Hair Blow dryer: This is what we use to heat and melt your Jumbo Pencil into the container.

After you have gathered all of the materials needed. You are now ready to begin depotting your Jumbo Eye Pencils. :)

Grab the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil you are going to start with. After that you need to get a good grip on the pencil to pull off the end cap on the bottom of the jumbo pencil. It may be hard to get off at first, and may take some time but work slowly and carefully. If you still are having a difficult time with you you can use your pliers to grab it off. BUT be careful that you don't hurt yourself. Take your time. If it still doesn't come off you can use the heat from your blow dryer or run hot water over it to loosen the glue up.

Once you get it off it should look like this :) When I removed all of mine Slate was the easiest. It just came right off. But Milk, and Iced Mocha gave me a lot of trouble I actually used the blow dryer and heated up the glue a little bit to pull it off easier.

After you removed all of the bottom end caps you are ready to start melting your pencils into pot form. The next thing you need to do is take the pliers and grab the wood part from where you just pulled the end cap out. Just like the below picture.

After you got a pretty decent grip. Hold the pencil straight up right above the container you plan on depotting it into. I am using a weekly pill organizer. I wanted to use something around the house. I did not have any containers such as a lip balm or any makeup item that was almost empty. And I wanted to use something around the house to avoid spending any money. A weekly pill organizer is a great thing to use if you have an extra one laying around! I got the inspiration from the Makeup Forever Flash Palette! But this one is way less than the cost of that one and I am making my own. Everything is better homemade! :P

Just hold your pencil vertically over your container. Once you do that you can start applying the heat with your blow dryer.

When applying the heat I started at the top of the Jumbo Pencil. Where I was holding with pliers. I would leave it sit there but slowly move down towards the opening and then work my way back up to the top. I would do that about three times along with turning the pencil around the distribute the heat evenly around pencil. Once I went up and down 3 times I left the heat blowing at the top where I was holding the pencil. After about 1-2 minutes of applying heat it will start melting into your container. Once it first started melting into the pan, I go up and down along with spinning the jumbo pencil another 3 times. After that just continue holding the heat up at the top where you are holding it with the pliers. Once it seems everything has melted out, which usually is after about 5-6 minutes. You can tell if all of it has melted when you look into the opening and you can see through it. Be very careful touching the pencil itself, it will still be very hot for about 4 min after you stopped applying heat. Also the pencil will most likely have bent from the heat and melting process. This is very normal and had no affect to your product. Besides we don't need the pencil anymore right?

If you can see straight through the pencil you did it right :)

Do the melting process to all of your Jumbo Eye Pencils you want to depot. Once you are done you just clean up any mess that may have happened. I used makeup wipes to clean off the rim around the edges. After that I just let the melted product cool down in room temperature to harden back up to the original consistency.

And you have yourself your depotted NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils. :) Which would be your homemade version of Makeup Forever Flash Palette. :)

Even after depotting them the jumbo pencils still have the same consistency and are still very creamy and apply with the same pigmentation as they were in pencil form. The biggest plus to depotting them is you can apply them easier with a brush now!

A little bit about me!

Welcome to my blog. I am so excited to start expanding different ways I can share my love for makeup and fashion. I am Lindsey, I am 19 years old. I first started my love for makeup at age 12 (as soon as my mom allowed me to start wearing it!). I did basic makeup until I turn 16. That is about when I discovered guru's on youtube. That is when I started gaining knowledge and more love and talent for makeup. Fashion was something I would always keep more upkeep with until my BIG discovery of makeup at 16. Since then in the past 3 years I have learned and researched makeup and fashion like crazy. And recently I decided to become one of thousands of the makeup gurus. I do not have the best collection of makeup, or the most expensive makeup. But I do have the love for it! And I want to grow and learn with other people out there like me. And possibly start encouraging people like me out there who were to afraid to start making videos of their own to do it. I want to grow and learn with my viewers along with my bloggers. :)

What to expect from my blog?

Reviews, tips, tricks, advice, how to's and hauls, all on makeup and fashion, also along with everyday things.
Reviews mainly will be focused on doupes (Lower end/drugstore makeup that is almost, if not the exact doupe for high end makeup. And looks that you can find for a more reasonable price). And all reviews will be my own honest and true opinions.
Tips, tricks, and advice are things I can do to simply or help anybody with daily things. Such as makeup, accessories and how they help, and how to pull of not every day things.
How to's are pretty basic. But I will show/tell how to get a certain look or trend.
Hauls on my blog will most likely include pictures and I will always try if I can to put a first impression or a mini review/reason of why I repurchased. And if I can I will try and find pictures of the high end makeup to the doupe I purchased. Just to show I do, do my research before just buying :).
And along with all this I will post everyday things that can include deals going on, giveaways, and exciting news. :)

What to expect from my Youtube channel?

I am new to both blogging and youtube. Even tho I have had a youtube account for some time now I recently decided to become one of the guru's I am always watching. :) I plan on only doing looks that are low cost, or things I think are worth the price. I plan on doing reviews, tutorials, dress for less, trends, and much more on my channel. (I will always try to put what is on my youtube channel in someway onto my blog). I know lighting, speech, along with camera quality is very important. But I am doing the best I can with what I have at this moment. As I grow and expand, I plan on updating each one :). So subscribe and stay tuned :)!
Reviews on my channel I will ALWAYS put forth my honest and true opinion. I will also explain why or why not the product worked. As a viewer I would always want to know the details/reasons so I would like to provide that for all of you. :)
My tutorials will include of a wide variety of looks. Anything from junior high looks, to Lady Gaga inspired looks. I want to provide a look/video for everyone out there. :)
Dress for less videos will be things that you will see in magazine's or things celebrities wear that may be wayyy to expensive for the average person. And I will show you how to get the look for a more cost friendly look :)
Also I will provide videos with how to pull of the new 'in" trend. Whether its fashion, makeup, or just a certain color. I will always like to show how to pull off colors that are in with a makeup inspired look, and a couple different ways to do it in outfits. :) (Will always post pictures on blog to see).

There are so many things that I can go on and on about. Whether it is my blog or my Youtube channel. I just wanted you as my bloggers or viewers to get to know me a little. And what you can expect from my blog and channel! I hope you follow both and am as excited as I am for all of this to come :D! I can not even explain how excited I am :).
