I recently made my biggest purchase in regards to health improvement in quite some time. The VRT350 Omega Juicer is one heck of a machine. It’s main difference is the concept of SLOW as opposed to fast juicing. When your veges and fruits are slow juiced they will keep for at least 48 hours so I only have to juice once a day. I drink daily about one quart of a combination of vegetable along with some fruits usually apples or pears for some sweetness in the flavor. If you need more information regarding slow juicing please do not hesitate to contact me.

This was sent to me by a colleague but I did read it a while back. Let me apologize if some of you think it too risqué for a Blog. I also apologize for not giving credit for the person who wrote this, it is very wise advice………

Lesson 1:
A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings.
The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.
When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor.
Before she says a word, Bob says, ‘I’ll give you $800 to drop that towel.’
After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.
The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.
When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, ‘Who was that?’
‘It was Bob the next door neighbor,’ she replies.
‘Great,’ the husband says, ‘did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?’
Moral of the story: If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.
Lesson 2:
A priest offered a Nun a lift..
She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.
The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.
The nun said, ‘Father, remember Psalm 129?’
The priest removed his hand But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.
The nun once again said, ‘Father, remember Psalm 129?’
The priest apologized ‘Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.’
Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.
On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129.
It said, ‘Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.’
Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.
Lesson 3:
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.
They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, ‘I’ll give each of you just one wish.’
‘Me first! Me first!’ says the admin clerk. ‘I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.’
Puff! She’s gone.
‘Me next! Me next!’ says the sales rep. ‘I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.’
Puff! He’s gone.
‘OK, you’re up,’ the Genie says to the manager.. The manager says, ‘I want those two back in the office after lunch.’
Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.
Lesson 4
An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, ‘Can I also sit like you and do nothing?’
The eagle answered: ‘Sure, why not.’
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.
Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.
Lesson 5
A turkey was chatting with a bull.
‘I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree’ sighed the turkey, ‘but I haven’t got the energy.’
‘Well, why don’t you nibble on some of my droppings?’ replied the bull. They’re packed with nutrients.’
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.
The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.
Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.
He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.
Moral of the story: Bull S__t might get you to the top, but it won’t keep you there..
Lesson 6
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.
Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who sh*ts on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh*t is your friend.
(3) And when you’re in deep sh*t, it’s best to keep your mouth shut!
THUS ENDS THE six MINUTE MANAGEMENT COURSE

Sent to me by cousin Shirley…..

A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience; with a raised glass of water, and everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question, ‘half empty or half full?’….. She fooled them all… “How heavy is this glass of water?” she inquired with a smile.

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance. In each case it’s the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “and that’s the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on.”

“As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden – holding stress longer and better each time practiced. So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night… pick them up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you’re carrying now, let them down for a moment. Relax; pick them up later after you’ve rested. Life is short. Enjoy it and the now ‘supposed’ stress that you’ve conquered!”

1 * Accept the fact that some days you’re the pigeon, and some days you’re the statue!

2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

4 * Drive carefully… It’s not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.

5 * If you can’t be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

8 * Never buy a car you can’t push.

9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won’t have a leg to stand on.

10 * Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.

11 * Since it’s the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late..

12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.

13 * When everything’s coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.

14 * Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

15 * You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

16 * Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

17 * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

18 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

19 * Have an ‘awesome’ day and know that someone has thought about you today.
20 * It was I… your friend!

*Save the earth….. It’s the only planet with chocolate!

Ancient Mother Earth,
We don’t own her, we are a part of her. Her pulse can be watched as the waves approach the shore. Each wave is a sign she is still alive. We see the beauty in her life blood which is precious to her and to us. Water keeps us both alive. After all she is called the water planet. Her arteries keep flowing over much of her body. We need them as much as she does. Without her arteries (our rivers) we can’t continue nor can she.
As she continues to develop she needs to stretch and exercise her tremendous muscles frequently. We get scared but she really isn’t purposely trying to hurt us with her tremors. She needs to do this to grow and change, just like we need to grow and change as we get older and hopefully more evolved. I think she is trying to tell us we need to grow and change with her not conquer her.
We take her for granted and think she is stronger than she really appears. She seems to have survived every crisis so far. She has adapted well for her age and continues to go strong, or is she?
I have noticed over time her health is degenerating. Her arteries are getting more and more clogged, So clogged, that we can’t drink her life giving blood without a purifier. She has become clogged in every one of her major arteries throughout her body, with huge formations of cholesterol and plaque (our garbage and pollutants).
Her massive lungs, our forests, are being reduced at a phenomenal rate and are taking on so much work that she has a hard time breathing, as so do we in our cities. Her cilia hairs (forest trees) are being cut down and are dying from air pollution.
Mother Earth has yet another problem; she has a fever that is on the slow rise. This too is an indicator that she is not feeling so well. Her cooling system is beginning to deteriorate. Huge chunks of her structure are breaking off and melting away. Even her aura (the ozone layer) comes and goes in some areas. We now witness huge gaps of her aura causing large parts of her immune system to break apart. As a result excessive ultra violet light waves penetrate our system which injures our fellow inhabitants (plants and animals) and our own skin and eyes as well. Mother Earth has taken care of us since our beginning. Now that we have grown up, shouldn’t we take some responsibility and take care of her?

Here are several simple life changes that can help save her and us, so we can all live happily ever after.
Conserve her life blood (water) don’t waste it or pollute it, use biodegradable detergents and cleaners.
Practice the Three R’s, Recycle, Buy Returnable bottles, Reuse plastic water bottles and resalable plastic bags.

Don’t buy products overly wrapped with plastic and/or Styrofoam.

Don’t use aluminum wrap. Much aluminum is mined in the tropics and causes catastrophic pollution in the rivers that flow through the rain forests.
Mother Nature would prefer if you would eat organic foods and drink shade grown/organic coffee to keep her arteries clean from pesticides, herbicides and artificial fertilizers. You and I will be healthier and so will she.
Help stop air pollution, get out and walk or bicycle instead of hopping in your pollution producing car, it’s good for Mother Nature and the air you breathe too.
Be kind to animals, don’t eat them! The entire cattle industry throughout the planet causes more global warming than all the cars, trains, planes and ships on our planet.
We all need to take responsibility to care for Mother Nature and to pass on her good health to the next generation. Place this letter on your refrigerator, which I hope is energy efficient, to remind you daily how you can make a difference.

Last week my esteemed partner Bill Adams, and I made a quick one week trip to Panama. From the Toll gate in Escazu to Paso Canoas give or take a few minutes with fuel and a short relief stop 5 hours. This 5 hour time frame is on the coastal road New Caldera Hwy-Quepos-Dominical-Palmar Norte-Paso Canoas. The only annoying part was Palmar Norte to the border which tool about one and a half hours of the total time. The border crossing on the Costa Rican side a piece of cake. The same could have been true on the Panama side but “no hay pantilla”. The computers were down so it took two hours which is unusual. In the past about 5 to 6 years ago I got through both borders in 30 min. On our way back 4 days later we flew through both borders in 20 minutes. This makes me wonder why anyone would ever want to do their 90 day out of country experience by crossing the Nicaraguan border. I did that border years ago when driving to Managua to compete in the Cental Amercian Masters Track & Field Championships and to cross that border was a painful 2+ to 3 hours.

Anyway as many of you know with the exception of fuel almost every thing in Panama is 1/2 what it is in Ticolandia. Diesel is $1.30 a gallon cheaper in Panama which when filling your tank is a substaincial savings.

Other savings are if you are a beer drinker C500 or $1.00 for a beer at Auto Mercado and at the Rey supermarket in David a Auto Mercado look-a-like the beers are $.27 and it goes on and on.

Yes there are lots of reasons why moving to Panama is cheaper with the retirement jubilado program etc but after 36 years here this is my home but vacationing to Panama is a real treat. It’s like a weekend excursion not much difference in going to Guanacaste for a weekend and you can bring back goodies. Send me an email of you want to know more about the Provence of Chiriqui Panama.

OK , Chicken Little, so maybe the sky isn’t really falling, but it’s gotten a lot closer to the ground than it used to be. With all the pundits, talking heads, and know- it- alls predicting lower expectations, higher taxes, catastrophic climate change and enough loose nuts on the ground to make any California almond farmer green with envy, what’s one to do.

Well if you’re one of the lucky few who has any options left at all, this may be a good time to consider looking for an alternative But if you’re also one of the many that feels the whole world’s going to hell in a hand basket and getting there fast or if you think that the land of the free and the home of the brave is being reduced to a haven for wimps and wage slaves and you aren’t ready to pick up the tab for the unwashed masses that can’t or won’t take care of themselves, what really are the alternatives?

It’s not so much a question of what as it is of where.

The future will belong to those who have found where to ride out the coming storm in relative comfort and security, while the wimps and wage slaves fight it out for survival .Unfortunately the options are rapidly becoming very limited but they do still exist. The trick is knowing what constitutes a safe haven and then knowing how to find one.

Of course what’s safe nowadays is a difficult question to answer. The traditional bastion of security, the good ole USA, depending on where you live, is becoming a seasonally safe country, as in hurricane season, tornado season, fire season followed by landslide season, not to mention floods, droughts, avalanches, earthquakes and a host of other natural disasters . When you combine that with raising crime, dangerously illegal immigration, bank failures, corrupt politicians, a failing moral and ethical structure, targeting by terrorist both homegrown and imported and a decided shift towards socialism, then some third world countries don’t look all that bad in comparison.

There is one particular third world country that has no hurricanes, tornados, ice storms, major forest fires or avalanches. Their conservative lending policies have avoided the sub prime debacle thus keeping the banking system stable . Their long term democratic government combined with a free press has kept most, not all, but most, of their politicians honest. Abolition of their military sixty years ago allowed deep investments in education that has generated a literacy rate second to only a few of the worlds most developed countries. On top of that , they offer all foreigners full and equal rights to property ownership and the same legal protection that their own citizens enjoy.

By now, unless you’ve been living in a cave somewhere, you know I’m talking about Costa Rica, second home to a dozen major Hollywood stars and about 100,000 adventurous Americans, some wanted, some unwanted, but all living here in peace and harmony. Luckily it’s not a place for everyone. But if you remember that even the Garden of Eden had a snake, if you still have a sense of wonder while you experience nature, and a sense of humor when you experience foolishness, if you are flexible, kind,
